8981  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Best-Paying Bitcoin Ad Network? on: August 13, 2016, 05:19:49 AM
So I'm looking to start a couple of concurrency-based websites, so naturally one of my first questions was how to monetize them. I could use Adsense, but I want to be paid in cryptos for these projects, not USD (or any other usual currency).

In your guys experience, which network has given you the greatest ad revenue, while also giving proper flexibility in ad banner size, and so on? One that I'm heavily considering is Mellow Ads, but I notice that some sites actually use multiple ad networks for monetization. Some are even using a mix of Adsense, Mellow Ads, and others as well... At the same time, I don't want to have to deal with building a payout threshold on mulutiple accounts and preferably would want to stick with one...

Is Mellow my best place to start? Or is there another network you guys could suggest? Thanks so much for any help you can give me. Smiley

Unfotunately bitcoin ad networks don`t pay that much as Adsense.

I tried a-ads.com and my earnings were 0.00001 btc for a few thousand visitors to my blog.

There aren`t many PPC advertisers that pay with btc.
8982  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Make bitcoin?impossible? on: August 12, 2016, 11:11:30 AM
Hey all,i'm just curious.

Why we not made own bitcoin like on real world make 'fake money'?

If we make bitcoin like we make real money thats possible or not?

So you are asking if there is a way to create fake bitcoins like the criminals who create fake paper money?

I don`t think that there is a way.

If there was a way to produce fake bitcoins, the btc price will colapse. Sad
8983  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: preev.com does not work on: August 12, 2016, 11:07:22 AM
It seems that Preev.com does not work anymore or I am making a mistake??!! In my browser when I open it, it shows a message:
"Heroku | No such app
There is no app configured at that hostname.
Perhaps the app owner has renamed it, or you mistyped the URL."
Do others have similar problem? And can the cause be decreasing price of bitcoin?

Nope.It doesn`t work wth my browser.

I don`t think that this has something to do with the bitcoin price?

Maybe the owner can`t pay the hosting fees can`t make profit from preev.com
8984  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Were can you buy bitcoin? on: August 12, 2016, 06:49:12 AM
My experience with buying bitcoin (BTC) started August the 7th. I was wandering if there's a way of securely purchasing bitcoins, I started searching on the net and I found that you can buy bitcoin directly from the Xapo website. At first I was a little bit skeptical but I tried to buy 10 USD anyway. I sent the wire transfer and I waited... Surprisingly yesterday ( 3 days after the wire transfer) I received 0.016-ish BTC on my wallet! So if you are wanting to buy some bitcoins I recommend purchasing them on Xapo.
Thanks.

OP, your thread looks like you are trying to promote Xapo. Please don`t do this.

There are many places where you can buy btc.

Coinbase,Virwox,Localbitcoins,Paxful,Purse.io

Most of them have very high fees and require ID verification.
8985  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Blockchain.info Commercial Ad on: August 12, 2016, 06:45:22 AM
   Did you saw this?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1_W-7hd4T2I

Amazing commercial, I didn't saw nothing similar before. This is good way for promoting bitcoin and blockchain, we need more commercials like this for people who still didn't hear about blockchain. I like this commercial, and I shared it on my Facebook page right away, this is my little contribution for bitcoin community. I think everyone should do it!

It looks good.Great job by the creators of this.

Bitcoin should be promoted more like that.

Keep it up. Wink
8986  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Africans Can Utilize Bitcoin... on: August 12, 2016, 06:42:46 AM
What would be your advise to most Africans to Utilize Bitcoin.

I`m not sure if many africans  even have a computer. Sad

Without computers and internet connection, without electricity it`s impossible for them

to utilize bitcoin.

8987  Economy / Economics / Re: What percentage of people on Earth will own Bitcoin by 2020 on: August 11, 2016, 10:50:39 AM
I've been running a poll for some time now about the value of 1 bitcoin by 2020 and it's safe to say a lot of different opinions and guesses are made.
This poll completes the other one and i'm really looking forward to everyone's input in this.

Tnx for your input  Cool

Less than 10% for sure. Sad

Bitcoin isn`t growing very fast in popularity, which is sad.

All the major world currencies should colapse in order to make bitcoin the only alternative.
8988  Economy / Economics / Re: Rising Economy of Russia >> on: August 11, 2016, 10:46:46 AM
When Vladimir Putin became President, Russia was effectively bankrupt as it owed more money to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) than it had in foreign currency reserves. Since then, Russia has achieved a virtual macroeconomic revolution to the point where it is one of the largest creditors of U.S. debt in the world. Its nominal dollar GDP has increased by more than a factor of six, and has the potential to reach more than $2 trillion by 2010. Russia would become the largest economy in Europe and the fifth largest in the world following the United States, China, Japan, and India by 2020 if goals would have been achieved.......

What`s the point of this thread? Saying what a great president Vladimir Putin is? Grin

Russia has lots of resources and if there was no communism,Russia would be one of the wealthiest countires

in the world.
8989  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: *warning* Two current security issues with mobile devices on: August 11, 2016, 10:41:15 AM
Just to make everyone aware, there are a few security risks presently affecting mobile devices that require people to be vigilant.

Firstly, there are still fake, malicious wallets circulating on the App Store, always make sure you use download links from a reputable source.

Secondly, some wallets are automatically backing up private keys to the cloud.  Keys stored online are potentially a serious security risk.  Make sure your apps aren't doing this, or if they have, move your funds to new addresses immediately.

It's generally good practice to only keep small amounts on portable devices in the event of physical loss or theft anyway.  Larger sums should be locked away in cold storage, offline, somewhere secure.

That`s why i will never use any android bitcoin wallet app.

Mobile wallet apps are most likely malicious or at least vulnerable to malicious attacks.

Cold storage is the best option.

8990  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin is decentralized.Really?! on: August 11, 2016, 06:01:48 AM
I know that decentralized currency means that no central bank can control the money supply.

But what if 2-3 major players own 40-50% of all the bitcoins.

Do you still think that the currrency is "decentralized" if 2 or 5 or even 10 big players can control the btc price

just by selling and buying large amounts of bitcoins.

What do you think about that?

8991  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Let's Control the Future Value of Bitcoin on: August 11, 2016, 05:49:20 AM
The recent economic events that have impacted the trade value of bitcoin are irrelevant. Brexit? New president? Halving? None of these events actually matter in determining the value of bitcoin since they are just headlines. The market cap of Bitcoin is only about $10 billion USD. That is as much money as a mid-level U.S. finance, insurance, or real estate company manages. In other words, bitcoin is not even on the financial map, which is actually a good thing!

Bitcoin needs a catalyst. That catalyst is you and me. So, we need to do two things:

1. Spend bitcoin: Holding bitcoin is an awesome passive investment strategy, especially for those who purchased sub $250. However, taking an active approach will help stabilize at $1000, which is honestly what everyone is looking forward to. If early adopters hold the majority of bitcoin then no one else can use it whether they want to or not. This means it would not be of value in the long term since there is no established barometer of what it could potentially be worth in exchange of consumer good and services. This leads us to the next point of getting late adopters to understand why and how to use bitcoin as a method of payment.

2. Educate others about bitcoin: When I explain bitcoin to friends and family I refer to it as "internet money". They ask, "Like Paypal?" and I say, "Very similar, but more like buying early shares of Apple or IBM because it appreciates at a higher rate than the dollar." This has been a useful conversation starter and influenced a few colleagues enough to at least open up a Coinbase account.

There is no need for more (or less) regulation as the status quo of decentralized currency is now a proven concept.

"The catalyst is you and me."Yeah,right.If i spend my 0.7 btc this will increase the bitcoin price for sure. Grin

I will never explain bitcoin to my friends and family because they will think that it`s a scam.

Big players control the btc price. You and i can`t stabilize it.
8992  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Remember when Bitcoin was new and..... on: August 11, 2016, 05:42:52 AM
I remember in 2011 when you could watch ads that payed 0.01 btc each, i found them on this very forum and used to watch them all day from work. #GoodTimes

What do you remember from the early Bitcoin days? Share your memories here!  Cheesy Cool Roll Eyes

I got familiar with bitcoin when the price hit $1200 back in 2013.

Bitcoin was in the news evey day and it was trending. Grin

I wish i was mining btc back in 2010. Grin
8993  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How can we figure out the scammers? on: August 10, 2016, 12:19:34 PM
People now a days who are so desperate of earning money. So some other are taking advantage to them.
Even me was victim of scammers.

You can you suggest how can I prevent from scammers.. Huh Huh Huh Huh
Thanks..

When someone is promising 150% "guaranteed" ROI after you give him X amount of bitcoins.

HYIP and cloud mining websites are the obvious scam.

I`m sorry that you were a victim. Can you tell us your story?
8994  Economy / Economics / Re: What is the best way to invest/grow your Bitcoins? on: August 10, 2016, 12:15:46 PM
I don't trust all these HYIP websites and I'm looking for a more reliable way to invest.
Any suggestions?

Forget about the HYIP scams. The only 2 ways to invest are trading and gambling.

You have to be very good and you need luck. The risk to lose everything is huge.

I don`t know about low risk opportunities.Maybe BTCjam and bitcoin peer-to-peer lending. Sad
8995  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Getting people to use Bitcoin- ideas on: August 10, 2016, 12:08:37 PM
Few people know the real benefits of Bitcoin. If they don't have benefit, they will not use it.

I created this Facebook page to explain just that to the general public- the value Bitcoin will bring to them:
https://www.facebook.com/Why-Bitcoin-1161569353908036/

Feel free to like and share.

All ideas are accepted!

I suggest this page to be owned by the community and everyone having ideas for getting people engaged with Bitcoin to post them here Smiley

Post your ideas for memes and posts here.

Let's tell the people what they are missing Cheesy

*In no way this page will ever be monetized!

Great idea dude.Unfortunately i don`t have facebook and i will never create a facebook account.

I just don`t like social media. The benefits of using bitcoins should be explained to more people.

Other people are already doing this on the other social networks.
8996  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitfinex HACKED - funds stolen ! on: August 10, 2016, 12:04:37 PM
This illegal exchanger (https://www.bitfinex.com/) is hacked.  120K BTC was stolen(aprox 60 mil USD) !

http://www.coindesk.com/bitfinex-shuts-down-customer-bitcoin-stolen/

It's so funny when they write "The theft is being reported to — and we are co-operating with — law enforcement."   What law enforcement when YOU are running an  illegal forex company(without licenses) ?!?!  Grin

They are liars and morons and full of vanity(they know everything, they are beyond any problem, they are GODS)...This vanity brought down almost all the exchangers.

That`s why the stolen funds can`t be returned or recovered.Because bitfinex isn`t legal and they didn`t

report the theft to the police. Are they doing to get any licenses?

I don`t think so. Sad
8997  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and space colony on: August 10, 2016, 05:52:29 AM
Human beings are already in its preparation stage to launch the trained astronauts to be sent to mars. This is a preparation for the purpose of making human colonies at Mars. On the other hand some corporations are targeting to mine some rare metals on asteroids.

Bitcoin as a virtual currency can be sent anywhere in the form of waves and frequencies passing through towers, cables or even in air. Bitcoin can be sent to space and it is possible. Maybe in the future when space colony will be established bitcoin is the potential legal tender.

Is it possible? What do you think?

It`s pointless to have bitcoins or any other currency in space colonies.

People aren`t going to space to trade goods, services or currencies. Grin

Or maybe they will trade some bitcoins with the aliens. Grin
8998  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What does the rekcahxfb giveaway say about our community on: August 10, 2016, 05:48:28 AM
So it seems the hacker rekcahxfb is offering to give away 1000BTC on reddit.

These funds have been stolen from individuals in the bitcoin community and not some faceless mega corp yet so far nearly 6000 people are more than happy to try their luck hoping to win the stolen cash.

From my point of view all those that signed up for it are just as bad as the scammers and it doesn't reflect well on the bitcoin community which is often viewed as a criminal entity by outside world at the best of times.

I also wonder what would be the legal ramifications for the person who wins it, I doubt they used a proxy so can be identified by I.P address, I dont think the police would be very understanding towards the person knowingly accepting $600k of stolen money.

I don`t think that this guy is going to giveaway 1000 btc.I just don`t believe it.

Is this guy some kind of Robin Hood?Stealing from the poor and giving away to the poor. Grin

There are desperate and naive people who think that they could win this "giveaway".
8999  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are bitcoin ATMs worth using? on: August 10, 2016, 05:44:11 AM
Some friends and I are considering using a bitcoin ATM to do some online shopping. Would it be worth using a bitcoin ATM rather than just an internet exchange site?

What are some advantages and disadvantages to both? Any tips or anything I should know ahead of time before using an ATM?

Thanks in advance!

It`s not worth it man.Bitcoin ATMs are extremely rare and i don`t think there are any merchants who accept

bitcoin as paper money.Bitcoin is invented as a virtual currency and should be used as a virtual currency.

It`s more convenient.
9000  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: US is auctioning $1.6 million on: August 09, 2016, 02:28:29 PM
http://satoshibonus.blogspot.com/2016/08/us-is-goin-to-auction-bitcoin.html

These are the bitcoins that are recovered from different cases / claims / investigations
On the other hand Government is not sure about Bitcoin as currency how will they handle the amount ?

Is anyone here going to participate in that auction? Grin

Is the auction open for non-US residents? If yes,i want to participate and bid.

Maybe this will have some impact over btc price?
