903  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [NRS] NoirShares Listed on OpenEX and PoloniEX, coming soon to NoirEX on: March 10, 2014, 05:27:57 PM
you may want to go ahead and remove openex from your exchange list. we will not be back for likely a very long time.
904  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Overvalued coins on: March 10, 2014, 04:25:11 PM
Which coins, in your opinion, are overvalued and why?

LTC

It's had first mover advantage as an alt and there has been almost no development since

I would tend to agree with this assessment. There's not a lot of development going on with LTC. I find the opposite is true as was pointed out earlier with GLD where I've read it will soon be the first and only mineable crypto based completely on java.

de-evolving into java does not equal innovation. besides, plenty of coins have java implementations. bitcoin, litecoin and digitalcoin to name a few.

well, finally found it. sql injection from trade pages. someone else who had been running the script on their site with cloudflare installed found many of these in their cloudflare logs.

What's to respond to?  You updated your client and they're gone?  Bullshit.  It wasn't much BTC, but choke on it anyway bitch.

why would i lie at this point? you really think i'm getting anything out of this? you're sadly mistaken, every ounce of energy i've put into this project is all for naught. i'm broke, soon to be homeless, probably will be sued and you think i'd have the audacity to come here and lie to your face? i'm telling you straight up, i just plain do not know what happened. if you want to try and work with me on it, or give me the chance to atleast state my case then please come back off the ledge. i will pay everyone out to the best of my ability and thats all i can do. can't you try to see it from my perspective?

in other words.  your ponzi fell through, no more funds after you took your share.

if you are gonna be honest, keep it all the way real.

think what you want. i've got nothing to hide.

Just like the DOGE wallet was messed up, and so was the btc wallet when I tried to cash out.  Always an excuse.

um, the doge chain was forked and there is plenty of proof of that, on top of which the wallet was deficient. the btc wallet was never messed up, so i can't comment on that because you're either fabricating it or i'm wrong. either way you got your money as far as i know. oh, and btw i personally bought DOGE @ cryptsy to pay your withdrawals that day. i went to withdraw them from cryptsy and couldn't because the chain was forked.

what's my incentive to lie here? i live in the us, where the financial laws, and business laws are pretty strict. my only crime here in my eyes is naively thinking i could build and run a crypto exchange.

Hi,

Does anyone know what is OpenEx upto? I read that they are closing on March 27 so I tried to withdraw all my coins, and 0.25 BTC, the request of BTC withdrawal got cancelled automatically and my account and IP address got banned all of sudden, I tried contacting the Admin 'r3wt' and he says that I have already withdrawn my coins already and then I haven't heard back from him.

Can someone guide on what should I do? Have I lost my coins?

They are a scam site, and do not pay out.  Consider the btc gone.

not true and you know it.

Then pay the man and quit stalling and acting likle you have.  Its odd that EVERY SINGLE TIME someone tries to cash out of your site, there is an issue with it getting cancelled or ignored.  Then when they complain, they get told you dont see it for 2 days, then all of a sudden they get paid.

you have no idea of the situation, so just stop. the exchange got hacked, several days ago, but that has nothign to do with this case in particular. i updated/upgraded the KDC wallet and half of the balance dissapeared. i'm trying to determine why, but this guy just yells at me and runs around the forum trashing my name. when he wants to act civily then he will be helped.

3/25/14 UPDATE
THIS IS  A FINAL NOTICE WITHDRAW YOUR COINS IMMEDIATELY(BEFORE 3/27/14 11pm UTC) OR YOU WILL FORFEIT THEM. Take note of any debt repayment codes credited to you in the "funds owed" tab of your account page. These will be redeemable when the new exchange is launched.

Thanks,
         Garrett

3/20/14 UPDATE
ATTENTION:

my cellphone quit working, and i cannot login to my normal email account(the one used for support) which is protected by 2fa. so in the meantime,if you need to contact with me about anything support related, please use the following email address

admin @ openex.pw

3/19/14 UPDATE
PLEASE READ THIS IMMEDIATELY.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=508674.msg5788345#msg5788345

3/17/14 UPDATE

You have until 3/27/14 to withdraw all funds. if you choose not to, you are surrendering these funds.

Repayment System Complete. Details:

ok, the new system is up a few things to take note of:

withdrawals process normally, until a situation is encountered where there is not enough in the wallet to pay a withdrawal. in this situation, 10% of the withdrawal is paid, and the remaining 90% is placed in the funds owed table. from the user account page, you will see a new tab that says funds owed. in this tab you will find an explanation for everything, and a table containing:

coin | amount owed | confirmation code

you will be required to copy your confirmation codes. when you sign up for the new site, in the account page you will see a link to claim your confirmation codes. after a code is verified, a share is issued for the amount you are owed of a particular currency. this share will either be paid on a daily or weekly basis, probably daily just to keep you happy. each payout will subtract from the remaining debt. once the debt reaches 0, the share will expire, as you have been paid in full amount of what you are owed. i know this is a terrible inconvenience and many people will probably not be happy with it, but something is better than nothing and this is the best possible way of us to settle our debts with our customers.

if you have any questions or concerns, please continue to voice them in this thread, and i will answer you in due time. i check this thread for new replies several times per day.

thanks,
          Garrett

Police Situation
The police have been contacted, but have yet to do anything. Server company is not answering requests for reverse proxy logs. For the time being we are assuming all responsibility for the loss.

Future of OpenEx

OpenEx will return to operations once the Luapod platform is complete. All debts owed to customers will carry over to the new system, where you will be able to retrieve your "debt share" by providing your confirmation code. It is not necessary to sign up with the same account name or email address, however doing so would be advantageous in the event a dispute arises over the ownership of a "debt share".

We will entertain and discuss any other questions, especially those of customers.

Other Information
BCX is a troll. he knows damn well i'm not hydroponica, he just loves stirring the pot.

evidence?/??

what like the cold storage and master accounts to prove i had nothing to do with it:

COLD(rec'd : 68.92 BTC)

MASTER(rec'd : 66.61 BTC)

and the payout log:

FEE SHARES SCRATCH PAD::->

site   0.15908893945298 -- Spent on Doge

SECOND PAYOUT

site   0.062088667084132 -- Spent on doge

THIRD PAYOUT

wasn't payed out because of hack we are in no position to take money, but it was around .41

<-X
In addition some btc was used to buy coins at cryptsy(doge and 42), and some SKC & BLC @ (atomic trade), however 1.4 btc remains in the cold storage wallet, albeit it is tucked safely at other addresses. this means we are pretty damn near not a satoshi missing on our end.
The next step is notifying the police with all of this information as well as the server logs. something tell me this guy may have made a mistake and he will be caught. even if he is not, we will settle with the customers. we have yet to reach a consensus on the manner of repayment, but like poloniex we will settle with the customers. the website will be down for some months while we continue to work on LUAPOD and a open source rails project we are looking at. however, just as we have always been open and honest we will continue to remain transparent. we may have failed at this point but we are optimistic that we can still right the ship by doing the right thing.
916  Other / Off-topic / Re: Since my last post, we were almost killed due to some NIGGER! on: March 09, 2014, 06:01:54 PM
I feel the need to chime in.

I understand that anyone may say anything they wish. This is a part of having free will. As long as a person is willing to accept the listener's reaction to the words they chose, I believe that a free man should be able to communicate whatever ideas he wishes to.

However, perhaps a point you haven't considered is the effect that this particular word has on so many in this community and at large. It may seem novel for you to use, and semantically sound as well; but to utilize a word that you know will offend, purposefully, is a disservice to your fellow. To cause pain or dissent (even if you feel said pain isn't a legitimate reaction) with carelessly chosen words is also a disservice. For example, although I don't feel too strongly about rape either way, I'd be a black-hearted bastard to bandy the word around a molested child or former rape victim knowing the psychological trauma it would cause. I don't feel any particular way about homosexuality either; but what kind of person would I be to call someone a faggot or queer that I know would be upset by my choice of words? To use specific words implies specific intent.

I don't know if you are Christian, but you seem to serve the Order and the Good with your actions. Also, you wield words quite effectively. So it honestly surprises me that you would wield this word when you had so many other weapons at your disposal. Also, your story fails to indicate particularly niggardly behavior (which to the best of my knowledge denotes a stingy or stubborn individual; the person you described does seem craven, foolish, violent, immoral and stupid, but not niggardly). As a man that has been in a similar situation (having to spring to the defense of a lady being beaten) I understand where you might have been mentally when you posted this; but your continuing defence of your words makes it seem as though you may have chosen that word at the expense of more appropriate ones you were aware of.

I respect you as a person that understands the importance of service to your fellow. We are a dying breed. I believe you have demonstrated this time and time again as you assisted the community with your impressive investigative skills and wonderful wit. I also understand the rage that participating in the scenario you described would bring; despite my call to service I would have tried my best to end that man's life had he attempted what he did in my presence. But given your intellect, I can't condone this sort of behavior from you. I am sorry if it seems I have passed judgement upon you; I'm just disappointed a bit.

I'm 27, and I'm Black. Not African American. Call me Black.

And I'm not offended at all, and encourage rational and synthetic discussion of this topic. It will be the only way we will be able to move past it as a human race. Through discussion, and eventually clarification.

~Green

Excellent post. Thank you for saying what I wanted to say.

Well i'm so incredibly glad you could weigh in on the subject with your opinion, Uncle Tom.

You can't provoke me, sir Smiley You aren't real to me. Just so many words. And I don't say that to offend you.

If this allows you to release some of the rage you feel inside, please continue. It's not hurting me, and if its helping you I will take the whole of it. I love you even though I don't know you. I would, however, appreciate it if your contributions to this thread were on topic and rational. Your cooperation is appreciated in advance.

~Green

Well i'll give you credit, you're a class act. I just can't fathom how a black person could be ok with this word. i'd be pretty upset if it were me. good on you for turning the other cheek. i respect that to some degree. And btw, my uncle tom comment was to B!Z specifically, and i was out of line i know. I apologize, but hey OP said the N word. lets kick his ass!

i can't believe that no one considers Nick Szabo as a possible lead. would be a remarkable coincidence if he wasn't involved in some way.
You should believe, the connection was made and then later rejected long before those neurons of yours made that thought.

lol, if you don't mind, why was it that Nick was ruled out? lack of technical aptitude? i'm just saying its likely he was atleast involved in some way.
