I would try increasing the virtual memory to at least 32GB. The Claymore Dual ETH miner has supported more than 10 GPU's for a while. I run 13 AMD cards without a problem and BBT was able to run 21 cards, 13 AMD RX 570 + 8 Nvidia P106 in Windows 10.

You can also seperate the cards using the -platform parameter

-platform   selects GPUs manufacturer. 1 - use AMD GPUs only. 2 - use NVIDIA GPUs only. 3 - use both AMD and NVIDIA GPUs. Default value is "3".

903  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ethereum mining on ethpool.org on: December 13, 2017, 03:42:39 AM
Ethpool is not like a standard pool where you are paid every round based on your percentage of valid shares contributed. Instead on Ethpool you accumulate credits towards a full block payout and only receive a payout once you accumulate enough credits to be the first in line at the top of the payout list for the next block found by the pool. Once you reach the top, you receive the next full block payout of ~3 ETH plus an Uncle payout if it's an Uncle block.

It's more like solo mining but you don't lose credit for the work you did if you don't find a block, like you do with solo mining. You also have the benefit of being able to estimate when you will receive a payout by looking up your wallet address on the miner stats page. With only 3 GTX 1070's, it will take many months before you reach enough credits for a payout.
904  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Etherum Windows Wallet and Geth on: December 13, 2017, 03:27:33 AM
Geth is the full node command line rpc client that runs underneth the Mist wallet. Geth won't use your CPU to mine unless you start it with the --mine command line parameter. Geth synchronizes with the ETH network and uses a lot of disk I/O, which can cause the client and system to become unresponsive. I prefer using the Parity wallet. It syncs MUCH faster than Geth and uses a lot less system resources. You can also use the Parity client with multiple chains like ETC and MUSIC.

Just looks like more bloatware for gamers and still shows a known issue with 12+ GPU's. AMD blockchain drivers on Windows v1703 are working fine for me with RX 570/580's and I don't see a reason to change.

I would go with two RX 570 4GB cards at $250> each for $50-70 more than a single 1070. Two RX 570 4GB cards are more profitable/$ than a single GTX 1070 on most algorithms.

and what this fool doesn't tell ya is 2 amd gpus is gunna use bit more power than just 1 gpu like the 1070, the 1070 also hashes WAY faster than a 570 does, depends on the algo though unless you fully mod the bios of the amd gpus

The fool is whoever thinks for ~$50-$70 difference a single 1070 is as profitable as two RX 570's 4 GB $250>

909  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RX 580 Nitro+ Special Edition (SE) mining help on: December 12, 2017, 07:08:00 PM
I have both the Sapphire Nitro+ and Nitro+ SE RX 580 (blue shroud cards). I have the best results with the Nitro+ non SE RX 580 cards. Both the SE and non SE cards overclock well after a simple Polaris Bios Editor v1.62 'one click timing patch' Bios mod and run cool. The non SE cards are cheaper and I prefer them. The blue RX 580 SE cards also have annoying blue led fans that can't be turned off.

Thanks!  Is there a big difference between 4 gig cards and 8 gig cards?  I can get an 8gig version of this card for about $60 more...

Also, if I wanted to do 2 GPUs would I be better off doing 2 of the RX580 cards, or keep the on 580 I have, and add a GTX 1070?

$60 more is way too much to pay for 8GB cards. I usually pay ~$25 more for 8GB cards of the same brand and model. 8GB GPU's usually will have faster memory than 4GBs, but for the most part, there is not much difference in hash rate between 4GB and 8GB GPU's of the same model. The benefit of 4GB cards is you can buy more cards for the same amount of money, so you will get a better hash/$ performance. The main benefit with 8GB is slightly better dual mining performance, more overhead for future Dag file growth on Ethash coins like ETH/ETC and better future resale value.
912  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoin questions for a noob on: December 12, 2017, 06:31:10 PM
270 H/s on Equihash is way too low for a RX 570/580. I get 310 H/s+ with a RX 570  and 325 H/s with a RX 580.

I also get ~900 H/s on XMR with the GatelessGate.

913  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Burned 18 AWG Wire And 8-Pin VGA GPU Power Connectors on: December 12, 2017, 06:17:25 PM
The problem is not the connector or the molex pins, it's that 18 AWG wire is rated at 10 A MAX, which at 12V is 120 W and that is for a short run, not a constant draw. A PCI-E 8-pin connector is rated for 150 W which is 12.5 A at 12V. That is why the 18 AWG wire burned up from being overloaded with a constant high draw exceeding it's capacity from dual mining.

I felt that splitting the load over two molex connectors would be enough to reduce the draw on the wires. Clearly that was not the case. If you're going to use adapter's for a 8-pin on a mining rig, go with at least 16 AWG which is rated for 20A and 240 W at 12V.

915  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Burned 18 AWG Wire And 8-Pin VGA GPU Power Connectors on: December 12, 2017, 11:34:19 AM
I made sure the molex connector pins were fully seated. The cable was burned through on both sides from the high constant draw from dual mining.
916  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Burned 18 AWG Wire And 8-Pin VGA GPU Power Connectors on: December 12, 2017, 11:24:40 AM
Wanted to share what happened when I used a dual 4-pin molex to a single 8-pin PCI-E VGA power adapter with a Sapphire Nitro+ RX 570 dual mining ETH that also had the 6-pin plugged in from a different PSU cable. The PCI-E 8-pin connector is rated for up to 150 W and clearly the 18 AWG copper wire wasn't able to handle the constant draw despite being split over two molex connectors.

A heads up to those who use 18 AWG wire in adapters and spitters to power 8-pin PCI-E VGA power connectors. If you're PSU doesn't have enough 8-pin connectors for all your cards, you NEED to get a bigger PSU or use a dual PSU setup so that you have enough connectors fto run all your cards safely.

High electrical use in itself is not illegal or evidence of a crime and therefore not a basis for probable cause of illegal activity for a judge to issue a search warrant.

For the Bios mod I use the Polaris Bios Editor v1.6.2 'one click timing patch'. It automatically detects each memory type and adjusts the 1750 MHz and up straps with the bundled performance straps. PBE v1.6.3 and up adjusts the straps from 1500 MHz and up, but the 1750 MHz straps are more stable. It works great with all my RX 480/570/580 cards. 28.5-31 MH/s ETH + 740-900 MH/s DCR.
