From moolah support re: adding BlackCoin to their merchant service - "We're just in the process of deploying V2 of our platform, Blackcoin will become available then!"

Have asked when 'then' is likely to be

EDIT "We're working toward next Monday hopefully!"

Hi guys.. been lurking for awhile now. Fairly new to this crypto thing so bare with me.

I feel that the mobile phone apps are the best way for BC to gain traction and expand amongst the greatest population. Nearly everyone in this day and age has a smart phone.

Do you guys know the app Venmo? (If not: https://venmo.com/). It's an app that allows you to connect to your bank account and make and receive payments from friends. For example.. If I'm out getting dinner with friends and someone spots me, I can easily pay the person automatically through the app. It actually works like a charm.

One of the coolest things about this app is that it allows you to store money you have recieved from your friends on the in-app wallet. This money can be left in your Venmo account to pay back others later, which makes it more convenient than having a lot of bank account transactions. These account transactions take a FULL day, at least, to complete.

If someone was able to design an app where we could easily pay our friends with Blackcoin (e.g: "wanna split this case of beer" or "hey, lets split the gas on this road trip") and it was to be paid directly to our wallets I think we would have a potential product that could really catch fire. Especially amongst the younger, college generation. It's super convenient, and still takes out the bank as the middle man!!

Maybe there is some reason why this would not be capable with the way Blackcoin or other cryptos were made... I will admit I have little knowledge of the inter-workings of cryptos. It's a fun idea though.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

-Turdle

That's a very cool idea....can someone with skills pull this out for BlackCoin ?

That is a cool idea. Until that is able to be realised, people can do something very similar with the BC Twitter tipper bot that was made available last week. I've been playing around with it a bit, sending little tips to people who mention BC, to prominent tweeters. A couple of guys are using it as a betting pool, the most recent being betting on what price BC will be at by a cetain date. It's dead simple :

I do not believe in censorship and I think even trolls have a right to express their view and feelings. However, ...

Results so far:
26 votes to ban him
5 vote to let him stay

"Everyone has a right to express an opinion, but I think that that general rule should only extend so far".

Please. Who's going to be next ? Do we think that people are incapable of hitting the 'ignore' button if that is what they wish to do ?

There is a reason why it is against the law to scream fire in a crowded movie theater when there isn't a fire. Freedom of speech is not absolute. I have no problem with people attacking me, I get attacked everyday. However, his attacks are now focusing on people who are trying to participate and bring something to the table. We are trying to rebuild the morale of this community, and how can we do that if someone is criticizing everyone's efforts. I have never publicly asked to ban someone, but in this case he needs refrain from posting here.

From what I have seen, lots of people here voice their opinions about the actions of others. Sometimes with moderation, sometimes not. I'm an adult. I'm able to discern what I would like to take notice of, able to filter the signal from the noise. Some days that takes a bit more effort than other days.

Sometimes I agree with what you say, sometimes I do not. Sometimes I disagree with the majority of what one person says for a long period of time, and then all of a sudden, I find myself agreeing with some of the points that they make in a particular post, to the extent that I learn something from what they say. That makes my life richer.

What you read as consistently negative, I often simply read as critical ( as in someone, often eloquently, expressing an opinion ). The fact that I do not agree with all that is said does not make me despair and give up on BlackCoin, because I am an adult and can make up my own mind.

If we start voting to ban people, we need to define the parameters within which we expect people to behave. We need to become law makers. Once you start making laws, you get into endless divisions. I'd be willing to bet that the majority of people here, who have an interest in this technology, are here precisely because they are sick of operating within a set of parameters defined by someone else.

Right, so maybe, after taking over Wall Street, we should contact shop owners, investors, etc from Dubai, Katar, etc. too.

Why not ? Then get them visible here : www.blackcoinmap.com

I need to add some text to the listing management page, to educate people about the fact that they need to add the word 'socks' to their listing if they sell socks.

lol yeah that would be definitely more simple.
Too much enthousiasm make me unable to think.

By the way there's someone accepting Blackcoin on the Mount Everest. You should proceed to verification.

Good luck.

The top of Everest is the default set of co-ordinates, and is where I placed the BlackCoin entry. A silly joke. I decided to give each new business a default location, otherwise some people who don't know how to enter coordinates would just give up.

To prevent new businesses overlapping the BC entry I'll set the default to the middle of the ocean. Maybe prevent it displaying if the default hasn't been altered wuold be better.

Five people have planted their flags : http://www.blackcoinmap.com

YOU'RE THE BOSS.
I LOVE IT !

PS : would you consider adding a "search by category" so people could be able to check Blackcoin marchants according to their type ?
Ex: Food, Hotel, Electronics, Services, etc, etc..

Map for BC accepting stores in our neighborhood.
Category for any specific search.

Thanks for your work !

No I don't think so. I need to add some text to the listing management page, to educate people about the fact that they need to add the word 'socks' to their listing if they sell socks. If we go down the categorisation route I have to define those categories, and it all gets to infinately divisible. No-one needs to filter by category when using google, right ?

I've just opened a web and logo design service here on Bitcointalk : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=590322.0 and I'm allowing people to pay in BlackCoin.

Put it on here : http://www.blackcoinmap.com

Do you run, or know of a business that accepts BlackCoin ?

Put it on the map

http://www.blackcoinmap.com

This is a first iteration. The 'Business Details' page ( after login ) is not responsive, but I'm going to work on it.

Feedback appreciated

Keep getting the merchants on board - I should have a BlackCoin map up & running very soon.

My wallet just now registered a 'mined' deposit to an address that I do not have listed in the wallet.

I'm familiar with receiving deposits from staked coins. The addresses that receive the deposits are named. This particular payment simply lists the address.

I though maybe I had received something from Mintpal ( ?? clutching at straws ) from when I briefly had some BC on there. No, my deposit address doesn't match ).

Anyone experienced anything similar ?

EDIT just noticed received another 11 days ago too

Interesting ... it's related to a contribution I made to the Coinkite fundraiser.

http://blackcha.in/ is brilliant
Thank you! Grin

And as of the issue you mentioned - I had the same not a long time ago and talked to SoepKip on IRC. I can't find links he provided but one of them was https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Change I think. So basically that's how it should work and there is nothing to worry about - you still have this coins in your wallet but that change address is hidden. You can easily prove it by sending the whole balance amount to yourself (to address you have in the list). I actually did that by myself to make sure that everything is ok. And it really is.
Hope it helps  Wink

PS. I slightly modified some styling on http://blackcha.in ( http://blkchain.info ) to make colors a little bit more 'calm', take a look. What do you think? Is it better now?
EDIT: Sorry, guys, it's down for db update. Sad Will be back up shortly.

Thanks for the Change link, I'll need to read through it a couple of times for it to sink in but it makes some sense ;]

re http://blackcha.in/ I preferred the contrast of the previous colours
