906  Other / Off-topic / Re: Where can I buy a computer with no TX card in 2014?????? on: January 01, 2015, 07:03:21 PM
Obviously its going to be so hard to find something with no wireless comms these days. But also I dont want to buy someones junk box off ebay. Ordering a computer from a stranger is rolling the dice.

I was looking at those pocket size desktops but nothing really caught my eye. Maybe I was on to the right track? It would be nice to have something running modern day OS that I could use as my air gap machine. Thanks

Would it be feasible for you to buy a new laptop and just remove the wireless card from it?

http://www.ehow.com/how_4812107_remove-wireless-card-laptop.html

In my opinion, this is the best option for the OP if he is looking for a computer without a wireless card. It is relatively simple to remove the wireless card, allowing the user to disconnect the computer from external networks permanently. Even a used laptop which has been reformatted and had its networking hardware removed should be safe enough for applications such as bitcoin wallets, as there is no way for an attacker to obtain information on the device through the internet.
907  Other / Off-topic / Re: Warning: Hackers around on New Years Eve on: January 01, 2015, 07:01:10 PM
You should send a support ticket to gmx.net to determine how the hacker gained access to your account.

You should also make sure that you are not using the same password on multiple accounts, and double-check that your computer is not infected with malware. Good luck with figuring out how your email account was compromised, so that you can prevent the same event from repeating itself in the future.
908  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How passive is the income from running a dice site/altcoin exchange? on: January 01, 2015, 06:58:50 PM
No, running a successful business requires a lot of work. You will have to be ready to fix any bugs that are discovered on your website. Additionally, you will need to constantly market your website, or run the risk of traffic to it decreasing. You may have to introduce new updates to remain competitive against similar websites.

If you think about it, there is no such thing as a truly passive business that is at its full potential. Even if you write a book, you will still have to market it, and work out deals such as merchandising or movie rights, which will make you even more money. If you just published it and left it there without doing anything, you would not make the maximum amount of money possible from your business.
909  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Shipping by sea on: January 01, 2015, 06:55:53 PM
Why do you want to ship it by sea? It's not because of the recent spate of air accidents is it? The chances of your miner going missing due to some aircraft malfunction is much, much lower than the chances of it being lost at sea. I've seen what happens to shipping containers when the seas are rough and it ain't pretty.

did you know that antminer will cost 280 $ and the cost of shipping 10 Kg will cost me 420$ and what you think if the shipping
cost more than one antminer

You will need to find the cheapest shipping option available (which may be by sea, as you said) and decide whether the savings are worth the money you will miss out on while waiting for the hardware to arrive. If one option earns you more money than the other, then go with that one. Also, perhaps you need to reevaluate your decision on buying the Antminer device. It may not be financially feasible for you to invest in, given the cost or time of shipping to your current location.
910  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Advice for Those Who Would Like to Start Bitcoin Trading on: January 01, 2015, 06:53:52 PM
That is a great guide! I would recommend people without experience to avoid spending large amounts of money on daytrading, as there is a very high risk of losing said money. You should always exercise caution and should not trade based on emotion. Also, keep in mind that trading is risky enough to be considered gambling.
911  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: what happens when all bitcoins are mined? on: January 01, 2015, 06:52:04 PM
As other users have stated, when all bitcoins have been mined, the incentive for miners to continue will be transaction fees. There will need to be enough transactions going around or the price will have to be high enough for miners to continue while staying profitable, I assume.

I hope this answers your question!
912  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New to Bitcoin! Microwallet on: January 01, 2015, 06:49:39 PM
You got 1/3BTC in a few days from faucet?
Sounds impossible i think.
But if it is true, can you tell us how to get that?

There are a number of faucets which allow the user to potentially win a large amount of bitcoin with a certain degree of luck. Also, there are faucets which allow the user to gamble his or her balance in the hopes of winning a larger amount before cashing out. It is possible that the starter of this thread used one of said faucets and won 1/3 of one bitcoin. It is also possible that he or she, being new to bitcoin, does not actually have 1/3 of one bitcoin, and actually has 1/3 of a smaller unit, such as 1/3 of 1 mBTC (millibitcoin).
913  Economy / Services / Re: Need a bot that can solve captcha(any catpcha) on: January 01, 2015, 06:45:33 PM
it's possible to make a bot that can solve those damn captcha? maybe pixel based or something? something like captcha sniper

if something good is made, i can pay for it

Look into GSA Captcha Breaker or Captcha Sniper. They might be able to solve the CAPTCHA used on that website. Alternatively, you can use a service such as Death By Captcha which was recommended earlier, or a human-powered captcha solving service which will be more accurate, albeit more expensive.

Good luck!

915  Other / Off-topic / Re: Could an ASIC be developed for Folding@home? on: January 01, 2015, 06:39:00 PM
Of course it is possible, but it is not financially feasible to build dedicated hardware for a non-profit project like that unless one receives enough funding to develop such hardware. Applications like OCR recognition, weather/climate modeling, and folding@home do not need to be performed on ASICs.
916  Other / Off-topic / Re: 5 Ways to Explain Bitcoin to Your Friends on: January 01, 2015, 06:36:01 PM
That is a very good guide.

It will come in handy if I have friends who do not know much about bitcoin but still want to learn more. You have some good analogies in your post which I can use to explain the concept of cryptocurrency. Thank you very much!
