Absolutely, and I still hope they will bring back the asset contract in any form.

As an example, DCORP and Spectre.io are splitting their Token to be conform with SEC. Both of them will have one Utility Token, and one for Dividends. The Utility Token will have other advantages to compensate not paying dividends.

At DCORP mostly the Utility Token will be listed on the bigger exchanges who don't list Dividend Tokens, but every Tokenholder will be able to convert between Utility/Dividend anytime with a small fee. How great is that, something similar could be the solution for MCO. I can't expect how much the MCO price will rise if they announce something like that.

At Spectre.io the ICO Investors have to choose between Utility and Dividend Token some days after the ICO.

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't that something what all smart contracts are suppose to do?

An update about future distribution plans.

So far, bytes were mainly distributed via airdrops to holders of BTC and Bytes, and a relatively small portion was distributed through the cashback program.  We started this free distribution with the purpose of getting the currency as wide spread as possible, and while the purpose stays the same, methods can change.  The airdrop method worked well to get the initial user base, but it also proved to be the least efficient in terms of user acquisition cost.

Over the next few months, we'll add more methods of free distribution.  One of them is already being developed, I expect it to be ready in the first half of December. 

The new methods are designed to grow our user base faster than the money supply.

While the new methods are still untested, it is early to drop the airdrops.  That's why the next round of distribution to Bytes and BTC holders is tentatively planned for the full moon of March 2, 2018.  The rules are the same as in the previous round:

For every 16 BTC you receive 0.1 GB,
For every 1 GB you receive additional 0.1 GB,

and similar rules for blackbytes.

This round can be postponed or even canceled depending on performance of other distribution methods.

Indeed jumblr came from a KMD snapshot and not from BitcoinDark. It was only done once and never will have another snapshot again. Jumblr is use for implementing privacy transactions that also earns dividend from transaction fees collected . The said date above are just for BTCD swapping event . No more jumblr snapshot.

Gas is roughly the equivalent of ETH in function, in that users use GAS to deploy and run smart contracts. NEO is equivalent to shares in a company, which explains why it isn't divisible; it has no 'smart contract' function of its own. Each NEO generates GAS at a declining rate over 22 years, ultimately resulting in a 1:1 ratio of GAS to NEO. After 22 years, no more 'new' GAS is created. As 'shareholders' in the NEO network, NEO holders will eventually also receive a reward, in re-distributed GAS, for transactions taking place on the NEO network. This feature is not yet implemented, but when it is, the amount of GAS they receive will be a function of 1) how many NEO they hold and 2) how many transactions are taking place on the network. In theory, if the NEO network is successful, these rewards will more than compensate for the declining generation of 'new' GAS over time. Thus, there is always an incentive to hold NEO and receive GAS dividends (again, assuming the network itself is successful).

So, you need GAS to deploy contracts. GAS is the utility token. But you need NEO to generate GAS in the first place, and to collect a portion of fees on the network.

As a separate matter, users will be able to run network bookkeeping nodes at a cost of 1000 GAS. In theory, these nodes can charge whatever fees they want for the service they provide, but of course network users will choose the cheapest option available. Thus, in practice, bookkeeping nodes will likely charge very little, or perhaps even nothing. There will be little financial incentive to run a bookkeeping node; those who run them will do so mostly for the benefit of the network (e.g., a bagholder might want to run a bookkeeping node to help ensure network health and protect their own investment).

I think everybody is waiting for 2nd big exchange listing (which is the best alt exchange so far). I'm waiting too and holding my AVT patiently No idea when it might happen though.
