9021  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin wallets be trusted? on: July 12, 2014, 05:23:47 PM
It's possible you could download a client that someone has modified or compiled to steal your coins so that's why it's a good idea to only download them from secure/trusted sources. You could test out any new client or pc by sennding a small amount there and if it gets stolen straight away you know it's not safe.

I forget to mention that hilariousandco only registered in nov 2013! That's got to be a forum record to become a staff member right? (not saying he doesn't deserve it because he does)

Mitzie registered in January. There might be one or two of the other local mods as well. I think I probably spend at least double the amount of time here than everyone else does though haha.

70 days you have been online? WHAT I registered before you and I have only been on 2 days...do you sleep at all?

Yeah, I sleep all night, I'm just at my computer or on my phone most of the daytime.

It's fine to post in off-topic as long as it's not exclusively in there. If you sign up for a sig deal and then immediately go reply to as many off topic threads as you can then you're very likely to get banned. The last person to ask in here if it was okay to post in off topic went and got himself banned within a few hours. If you do post in there though make sure it's not just short replies in silly threads. Put some thought into your responses and contribute to discussion and you'll be fine.

Yeah, that is what I thought.
Btw how you are "Staff" now?

Reported a lot of spam posts and the sort accurately and made the staff go a bit crazy XD
I kid but Theymos probably thought it made more sense to have him as a staff member than a reporter with all the posts he catches.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=624427.msg7763245#msg7763245

1000 Posts = 1000 Reports ^_^

Well 1450 As of that Theymos post out of looks at H@C current 11321
So a pretty damn high ratio of 12%

How much he has "bad reports"?

My stats: You have reported 5 posts with 100% accuracy
Staff, here I come Tongue

I think I had 50 "bad" reports at the time that list was created. 97% accuracy.
9025  Other / Off-topic / Re: What's your favourite candy? on: July 12, 2014, 11:07:59 AM
the reece peanutbutter cups things... what ever they are called exactly..

we don't get them in many places.. so its always a treat when we get them Smiley

Where do you live that you dont get reeses penut butter cups?

Many places outside of the US don't stock them. You can't get them in the UK anywhere except for certain specialist Americana candy shops that import the stuff but they charge a massive premium. Like a can of Mountain Dew or whatever is like £1.50 which is around $2.50.
9026  Economy / Services / Re: Shipping candy and treats worldwide. on: July 12, 2014, 10:59:33 AM
You might want to think about your service. It's great that you're offering this but at only a 2% premium you could easily lose that very quickly if the price of bitcoin goes down and then you're out of pocket, and also like SirChiko said items are more likely to go missing in the international post and to ship them with tracking is usually very expensive. Good luck though.
9027  Other / Meta / Re: Accuracy down to 98% on: July 12, 2014, 09:06:01 AM
In case anyone's interested, here are the people with the most good reports:

In other word, a list of tattle-tales by rank  Cheesy. Jk, someone needs to do the dirty work.

Almost all of my reports are: "should be in xyz IMHO" or "wrong board, not sure where to put it though"
I dont see that as dirty work, more as sorting Tongue

Haha, same, though chuck in a few spambots here and there.
9028  Other / Meta / Re: Congrats hilariosandco on: July 12, 2014, 09:04:28 AM
Ugh are you serious when the hell did this happen. So all you need to do to qualify these days is spam out of your ass.  Roll Eyes

Homeboy actually reported a lot of posts (accurately), so it's better to have him on staff now instead of just putting in tons of reports!

Well I'm glad you think that way. I thought you might not be too impressed by the decision. Glad to help out/be on the team though.

Wasn't there an anti-hilariosandco mob that wanted him banned or something? I remember skimming through some kind of thread like that. And now coincidentally, he becomes a mod  Wink

Well there's always one or two... usually one user and a few of his alts complaining because he himself was banned on another account.

And thanks again to the above users.

Another day, another sneak peak at one of the many give aways...

... To all you people who like to make Youtube videos or have experience with that sort of stuff, we will be giving 5 BTC away (1st place 2BTC, 2nd place 1BTC, 3rd place 0.5BTC then the next 6 0.25BTC) to the people who make the best PrimeDice 3 montages/videos and post them on Youtube. These videos can be of anything; funny chat moments, whales winning big, lucky faucet wins, intense PvP matches etc. It could even be a video that isn't just a screen recording of the PrimeDice page. Be creative and simply make a fun to watch video with PrimeDice in it!!

Might give this a go. Is there a deadline for it or will more info be announced soon?

Is Stunna online? I want to leave the campaign a week early, is that alright with him? Will he still pay for 300 of my posts?

It tells you whether someone is online or not under their name. The little box will be green if so and white if not. I've not heard of anyone being allowed to leave the campaign early, though there's always exceptions.

I think you have an option to turn that off in your profile, so it won't work for everyone. Tongue

EDIT: that should be the "Show others your online status?" option, I think. Check to see what's my status at the moment. Smiley

So it does. Haven't noticed that before, but Stunna's is usually on unless he switches it on and off regularly.
9032  Other / Meta / Re: I'm lucky to have an image! on: July 11, 2014, 10:36:39 PM
It probably wont until the new forum arrives. theymos has stated he'll remove avatars for people who have them, but not change them.

New deal from Lunamine. Paying weekly and in advance apparently. Limited to Full Members and above and limited to only 5 places  Shocked.

The list above is stickied in the Marketplace. John K doesn't seem to be active anymore. Escrow.ms seems to be the go-to escrower now.
9036  Other / Meta / Re: Congrats hilariosandco on: July 11, 2014, 05:12:16 PM
Thanks to all of the above  Smiley.

Congrats hilariosandco, and now all other mods will hopefully have a much lower workload lol. Cheesy

Haha. I can only moderate/handle infringing newbs/their posts so I'll still be reporting everything else  Cheesy.

I just enrolled for the PrimeDice signature campaign, do we get any feedback if we are in?

If by feedback you mean confirmation, then only conformation you get is being added to the currently enrolled post linked in the op which Stunna updates every so often. Keep your eye on this list: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=291387.msg7421598#msg7421598
9038  Other / Meta / Re: Want to confirm two members of the bitcointalk community have been banned on: July 11, 2014, 11:59:21 AM
I think knowing if users are currently banned would be good idea for several reasons. One of the main reasons is if a person you have deals with suddenly disappears it could look like he was trying to scam you, when in reality he's just been banned. Maybe their name could go red or their member rank turns to BANNED etc, and maybe the length of the ban stated somewhere would be a good idea. Maybe it should be suggested for the new forum?
9039  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price 'to hit $2000' by end of the year | ThecTelegraph | #bitcoinprice on: July 11, 2014, 11:54:35 AM
Has already been posted in the press section. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=685192.0

Pretty speculative to say the least.

I hope this is true, the current situation is not optimistic

Why is it not optimistic? Sure, it's been a bit slow this year and the price hasn't shot up dramatically, but the price isn't everything. I think there's plenty of reasons to be optimistic about bitcoin. Its potential is literally global, just have some patience and keep spreading the word.
9040  Other / Meta / Re: Want to confirm two members of the bitcointalk community have been banned on: July 11, 2014, 11:49:03 AM
He has been previously banned but I can't tell you if he is currently banned. Maybe BadBear can help you out on that, but he probably is since he hasn't posted or logged on since the 15th of last month.
