Love to get this tread back in action. Been using this system and been reading up on potential other systems.

Been thinking of using the second exit of bollinger bands and the RSI to confirm a oversold/overbought market to exit my position earlier.
And maybe figuring out a way to combine this with the 21/10 crossover. Just some toughs...

good luck...that is sort of the holy grail

Obviously if you could enter and exit earlier you would capture a lot more of the move, the danger lies in reintroducing guesswork and emotion to the decision making process.

9044  Economy / Speculation / Re: Goomboo's Journal on: February 15, 2012, 05:38:50 PM
Lesson learned for me: a crossover is only a crossover when the next period is over.  Touching the line is not a crossover.

This one wasn't.  Presumably then I should be short. Dagnamit.

personally, I like to see some air between them on a finished candle before spending the fees.

I've done my research in bitcoin. I see enormous potential outside short term gains. The currency has the potential to be world changing. To support bitcoin to me is supporting economic freedom. Im not going to short sell that, and I think a lot of people coming into bitcoin have a similar mentality.

I bought at 5.60 and held onto it even as it broke 6$. Im in this for the long haul.

I can't wait till BTC gets sticky. It's going to be a brave new world.

amen brother

9052  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is that mysterious triangular cycle? on: February 01, 2012, 06:43:10 PM
@RaggedMonk: Can't help but notice that your duck suffers from case of bloody diarrhea. Or it's just a contrail?

Anyway, now seeing how you're making fun of me and avoiding giving an answer, I'm sure that I'm on to something and I won't get fooled. Perhaps triangle data that you try to keep so secret is a holy grail of bitcoin technical analysis. A graph of thousands truths. I'll investigate further after I take my meds.

I actually LOLed, thanks.

Some technical analysts make a lot of various "wedges" and "pennants"

Of course all anyone here cares about is the almighty sacred 10-21 exponential moving average cross...so away with you and your three pointed heresy.
9053  Economy / Speculation / Re: Another rally cut short by bitcoinica.. on: February 01, 2012, 06:35:17 PM
yeah, maybe you should open a site and lend money to people to buy coins. Also try never to run out no matter how much people want to borrow.
that service should be called FreeMoney

I see what you did there
9054  Economy / Speculation / Re: inau's secret rocket on: January 31, 2012, 07:04:27 PM

Post the poop or GTFO!

are you still referring to the unfunny joke about graphing my turds? eat shit

funny...I ignored this asswipe the first day I was here after reading the first post of theirs I ever saw

looks like one of my better calls lately
9055  Economy / Speculation / Re: Goomboo's Journal on: January 31, 2012, 06:59:30 PM
Crossover again Smiley Taking small hits but as you said this is expected. Currently trading with my whole balance tho.
Isn't good risk management but not really any point of splitting up 5BTC  Tongue

9056  Economy / Speculation / Re: Goomboo's Journal on: January 28, 2012, 09:58:55 PM
exactly silverstew

that is the tradeoff; more chop and earlier trades, or less chop and missing more of the move

it all comes down to your appetite/tolerance for action
9057  Economy / Speculation / Re: Goomboo's Journal on: January 28, 2012, 08:10:25 PM
there is nothing magical about the 10-21 cross

generally shorter averages will get you in or out earlier, but will have more zig zag trades

with longer averages you will miss more of the beginning of a trend, but there is less noise so more of your trades will be keepers

so for the above poster, maybe look for a 15-30 cross or something to confirm for adding to your position
9058  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bringing decentralization back to the Bitcoin network. on: January 21, 2012, 05:12:41 PM
Sorry to repeat myself, but I really want an answer and its getting lost in a growing thread...

Is it true that other small pools, those in the "other known" slice, can integrate into P2Pool as a "node"?

Oh boy, see?  Here we come, the unwashed masses who think the optical drive is a cup holder.

Mine is a gaming rig, win7 64, I tried to get cgminer going once but it was all nerfed up, ended up falling back on the GUIminer.

What is "RPC interface"?
9060  Economy / Speculation / Re: Megadumb on: January 21, 2012, 04:46:19 PM

It is the United States government.  They can arrest anyone in the world (or assassinate them) for "national security reasons".  If a police pulls over a driver with a lot of money in the car, the police can seize that money and force you to prove where you got it before you can get it back.  The United States government only wants Americans to do 2 things, hyper-consume and pay taxes.  The Federal Reserve Note is only backed by the taxpayers of the United States and the United States government will go anywhere in the world to seize any assets they can.

easy there tex

they got space for you in Guantanamo
