922  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Discussion] The Merit System builds our personality on: May 29, 2020, 01:32:54 AM
The things that I have learned with this merit system is to be patient, be creative, put some efforts.

Just be patient, don't lose hope when you haven't received merits for almost 1 week, maybe your three threads are not just too good enough to be appreciated, make some moves, forget those things and create quality posts.

Be creative and put some efforts, as you can see most of the top merited posts here are very useful and creative, they put some explanations and they make things clear to us. If we are going to put efforts on our threads we will gain merits, just like this one, it is not that easy to create a program for this forum. He puts effort from doing that so he deserves merits as well.

925  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin may be the solution to Africa's broken financial system. on: May 28, 2020, 11:35:08 AM
A recent report says that being a lack of traditional financial of Africa makes it good for cryptocurrency adoption.

Per the report, cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin (BTC) can potentially solve all the aforementioned challenges

Quote
Although it is a diverse region, African nations share some key similarities and trends. Economic problems, from high inflation rates and volatile currencies to financial issues such as capital controls and a lack of banking infrastructure, create a fertile ground for an alternative to germinate.

Source: https://cointelegraph.com/news/bitcoin-may-be-the-solution-to-africas-broken-financial-system/amp

Do you agree that bitcoin would be a good idea for Africa?for me, adoption of bitcoin from Africa is a good idea, Africa has a big problem in terms of financial, they should do something to overcome those problems, one of the suggested ways is the use of bitcoin which is a really good idea, there are already many countries which are accepting the use of cryptocurrency in some of their transactions, it is way good better for fast and secured transactions compared to fiat currency.
926  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think shops should accept bitcoin? on: May 28, 2020, 06:50:41 AM
There are big problems when shops accept bitcoin for the payment of the customer, the feature of bitcoin being volatile makes it a big problem for the seller. I don't think that there would be a customer that will buy their products when the value of the bitcoin goes high, they will wait for the price of the bitcoin to goes low before they buy something. The seller won't make a profit from accepting bitcoin.
There are already existing shops that accept bitcoin for payment, there is some hotel that uses bitcoin to pay for the reservation, there are also some schools that accept bitcoin as payment for the tuition, and many other things.
You have mentioned the risk of accepting the bitcoin for payment so there are still many shops that do not accept cryptocurrency for payment, but if they are going to make it like this, the example they offer payment for coffee then they are going to give the coffee and exact price example $1 then they may but it using bitcoin at least the seller won't lose from doing that.
That is a great idea if they are going to have a fixed price of Dollars on the product and they will let the customer pay bitcoin, the seller won't lose their money from it but the customer would also wait for the price of the bitcoin to goes high.
927  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Tips] A Member ask Me: Merit Value Greater Than Activity. How it happen? on: May 27, 2020, 10:21:50 AM
Great tips OP, having good and quality posts are the main reason why other people here get so many merits, it's not about how long your content is, it's a matter of content and not the context. Just keep reading guys and if you see something interested online about cryptocurrency you may share it in this forum but don't forget to provide the link, plagiarism is really prohibited here, you may report from plagiarizing other contents.
Keep safe, keep active with this forum Grin

929  Economy / Gambling discussion / Do you feel this way? on: May 27, 2020, 09:32:40 AM

Why Can't I Just Stop?

1. How did this happen? I can't believe all the trouble I'm in.
2. If I stop rambling now, I'll have to admit I'm a total loser. 3. There's no way I can pay back all the money I owe.
4. If I had the money to invest, I'm sure my luck would change. I just need one more win.
5. Even if I had another win, I'd probably just lose it again.
6. I can't face this mess alone, but I'm too embarrassed to ask for help.
7. I should be able to solve my own problems. How could I be so stupid?
8. I never thought it would get this bad.

Have you ever say those words to yourself? I think those people who always do gambling are really familiar with those words, some of them are now facing problems with their family, love ones, friend, career, etc. because of issues about their gambling lifestyle, they tend to fix the problem but the urge to gamble seems too great to resist.

You have lost interest in usual activities
1. You feel depressed, down in the dumps or irritable
2. Your sleep has changed (e.g., you have problems falling asleep or staying asleep, or you sleep too much)
3. Your appetite has changed
4. You have lost or gained weight
5. You feel helpless, hopeless or despairing
6. It is hard to think and to remember things, and your thoughts seem slower
7. You go over and over guilty feelings
8. You can't stop thinking about problems
9. You have lost interest in sex
10. You feel physically tired, slow and heavy; or you feel restless and jumpy
11. You feel angry
12. You think about suicide

Have you ever feel those things? If you are one of them facing those kinds of things for more than two weeks then I think you are depressed and have anxiety because of doing gamble often. If you want to prevent those things try to speak it out to your family or to the people you can trust with.

The worst thing that can have in gambling is the suicidal thought, some people who are thinking that way are really into gambling, that is what you can have when you get so addicted to it. If you feel that way, professionals consult some professionals on how are you going to fix the problem.

Just a friendly reminder, if addicted like you are being addicted to gambling, try to do some action to prevent it, you may do some other things like.
1. Focus on doing some other things.with. Try to spend your time with your family and your career.
3. Have a hang out with your friends.
4. Make yourself busy.
930  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: (discussion) as a newbie should you or should you not loan to invest in BTC. on: May 27, 2020, 07:06:48 AM
It's not good to loan bitcoin if you are going to invest or to trade it, both things are not safe money because you are taking a risk when doing so, you will not be sure that you can return the money you loan when you do trading because you can also lose your money when doing it. Especially if you are the only beginner, having lack of knowledge and skills about those things will result of losing your money. Better to trade and invest your own money so if you get lost you wouldn't suffer from thinking on how are you going to return it.
931  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you gamble to escape your problem? on: May 26, 2020, 10:39:50 AM
There's already a thread that do talks about this topic: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2154998.0
Yes it's somehow related but do you think all people alone have problems? For me I don't think so, most of the time I am alone but luckily I don't have problem on that time Cheesy
932  Economy / Gambling discussion / Do you gamble to escape your problem? on: May 26, 2020, 09:25:02 AM
I have read an article about why do people gamble, and one of the reasons is escapism, they tend to gamble to escape the reality of life. There is some person who gambles because of their problems from their friends, love ones, family and career, and one of their ways to escape those problems is to gamble.

The gambling environment can provide an escape from everyday life. Whether it be the glitzy casino environment, a loud and exciting amusement arcade, or even an online betting company, for the time that we are taking part we can be surrounded by different people, different sounds and emotions, all of which stimulate and arouse our senses.

Are you one of those people who gamble just to escape your problem? If you are one of them, I just wanna say that gamble will not solve your problem, yes you have escaped the problem but once you are done gambling the problem is still there and you still need to face it.

Gambling can also add to your problem, imagine if you already have a problem then you are also losing your money in gambling, what would you feel from that?   Grin
There are already gamblers who lost everything because of it, whenever you have a problem and you are still gambling you wouldn't think to quit because you want to the game and that is the time where you can lose everything in you.

Take a look with this link, those people who lost everything, cars, home, marriages and more because of gambling: https://addiction-treatment.com/blog/six-gambling-addicts-who-lost-everything-cars-homes-marriages-and-more

934  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin Creator Dead on Covid-19? on: May 26, 2020, 05:54:32 AM
Asking if the person is dead is really rude, what are your intentions of asking that intense question in this forum? Satoshi is very popular in the world of crypto because of what he have contributed to the community and asking about that things is not good, if Satoshi will be able to read this thread, i don't think that he will be glad reading this. Asking about the end of life of a person seems like you want him or her to be dead.
How many people are leaving this Covid-19 every day, from the rich-poor to the Prime Minister and not being able to survive this disease, on the other hand we still do not know who is Bitcoin Creator, / satoshi nakmto! Is he still alive or dead? Do you think he died in this Covid-19? And if She/he die, what impact will Be on Bitcoin?  What do you Think

That's a strange topic. You mean to say that Satoshi is dead because of covid-19 ?
We don't even know who is Satoshi and most probably he is not in this world and died long ago before the covid-19 pandemic.
Well said, this topic is strange to me as well, this shouldn't be asked in this forum or in any platform. If you want to know where he is now, Satoshi is a really private person so I don't think that someone can give information about it.
935  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What was your experience trading cryptocurrency? on: May 26, 2020, 05:33:13 AM
I tried trading before way back 2019 when my friend told me about this, at back 2019 when I asked him about the ways on how he earn money and he recommended the trading, with having a reminder that I shouldn't tried this unless I already have knowledge and skill about it but I don't listen on him so I started trading even though I don't have enough skills and knowledge about it, I watched tutorials on YouTube about finance good trading and I really amazed on some people who earn so much money doing it, but upon trying it, I realized that it is not that easy as what I had watched on YouTube. Yes I lost money from doing it as what other beginners had experienced before.
As I tell everyone who asks me at my day job ( investment advisor by trade ) you should only be trading money that you first off can stand to lose.  Secondly, only those with a great deal of experience, those whom have mastered fundamental analysis and have a good grip on technical analysis should be "trading" cryptocurrency.  It's one thing to trade crypto, let alone regular equities (stocks).  More volatile, more "unknowns'.
Both trading and investing are profitable, but both things are risky so in order for you to lessen the risk of losing your money, you should have skills and knowledge first before trying it.
936  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is crypto is better then fiat? on: May 25, 2020, 08:25:14 AM
I don't think so, both things have it's own purposes, so we don't need to compare them, cryptocurrency has been used for online transactions while fiat currency is for physical transactions or for our real-life system.

Both things are important, if you want to be more exposed in the crypto world, then I think you are using cryptocurrency and you really need that because of some transactions, you may also use that for investing and trading in online exchanges.

What abuts those people who are not really familiar with cryptocurrency or with the use of the Internet, most of them are only using fiat currency which they are using for buying some of their needs and wants. Both things are important they are not meant for comparing.

Sorry to say, but how ironic that someone who doesn't have merits is giving advice on how are we going to get some, but anyway, thanks for the advice. Cheesy

I have seen so many tips on how are we going to get merits but this thread is the most helpful for me https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5098333.0
These suggestions have been posted here multiple times. The best advise to other newbies could simply attached this one: Newbies- Read before posting

I hope you read this well too. Dont aim for high rank instead be part of the community and join the discussion actively without spamming of course.
Well said, we're not here to get a high rank, we are all here to participate and get knowledge about cryptocurrency and blockchain if I am going to define this forum, this forum aims to have discussion about cryptocurrency. I know getting high rank is what we all want here, it shows how great we are but always remember that we should mind first the knowledge we get from this forum.
938  Other / Meta / Re: Report plagiarism (copy/paste) here. Mods: please give temp or permban as needed on: May 23, 2020, 11:11:26 AM
Some people tend to plagiarize because of some reasons, for example with this forum some people are going plagiarism because..
1. Having a lack of knowledge
2. They want to create quality posts by the words of others without knowing that they could be caught in doing it.
3. They want an easy output.
4. They are not aware that they are plagiarizing (some people here are just copying the whole text and then just putting the link, this is still part of plagiarism in order to avoid this, you should do paraphrasing).

Here are some tips to avoid plagiarism created by tbct_mt2: [TIPS] to avoid plagiarism.

If someone accused you of being plagiarized and if you know that you haven't do some mistakes, try to defend yourself. Some accusations are not true, you are the only one who knows if you plagiarize something.
