921  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as Ransom on: August 30, 2017, 06:45:41 AM
What if you had, let's say....5000 Bitcoins in your custody and suddenly someone demanded it as a ransom in exchange for someone very important to you, would you make the exchange?

What you are saying same thing can happen in fiat currency also when anyone knows about your wealth then same they will do with it. So it is not that bitcoin is bad but its users choice of how is he using it. Only if the users who is holding high bitcoins if disclose to some one let it be near one also is harmfull. Even if you are rich in fiat currency you should be carefull by giving your details. and never keep high bitcoins in one wallet always keeps them in split so that no one can know that which wallet have high bitcoins so that they can try to hack it.

923  Other / Off-topic / Re: Job Vs Bitcoin on: August 26, 2017, 08:06:23 AM
Hi, I was wondering if I should quit my job and focus more on bitcoins? Because I think it might get me even richer without a job?  Grin

Try to quit and then see if you succeed but if you dont go back to work. If you dont want your job you can easily do it especially if your job has a lower pay than your bitcoin sidejobs.
It's so risky to give up your work and focus to bitcoin. Yes, bitcoin has its high price but it doesn't mean that bitcoin will last until the end of your life. So you should manage your time so that you don't need to choose between the two.
Agree quitting day job is really risky since we do not know when will bitcoin last and we do not know also until we get paid by advertising campaign here in bitcointalk. Changes can happen and that is very possible in this forum.

That is right that we should not quit day job and keep working same time for Bitcoin also as it dont need lot of time to post in this forum, but if you are perusing the full time job in bitcoin then you should have lot of skill in designing field as this will give you more jobs for bitcoins earning.
924  Economy / Economics / Re: Most people dont even know what this is yet. on: August 26, 2017, 08:00:41 AM
It is true that currently only a few countries have legalized bitcoin, and not all people are willing to trade using bitcoins, perhaps by the time they are willing to accept payments using bitcoin and must have a big influence in the real world that first recognizes paper currency

It will take a long time before that changes dude. People will always first recognize the currency they've known all their lives. Bitcoin is a revolutionary way of doing transactions and as with all revolutions that precede change, it's not going to be overnight that everyone will recognize it.

What you are saying is true and even it will be more soon recognized if it gets legalized as most of the traders are not accepting bitcoin as it is not legalized and tax status is pending. Once it gets legal status then you can see the growth of bitcoin very fast.
925  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: What is so special about Bittrex? on: August 23, 2017, 02:07:57 PM
Why do most new Altcoins list on Bittrex first before other bigger Exchanges like Poloniex.  Are they less strict or what? What exactly is happening.

Listing in Bittrex is not much problem, if you got 3btc to pay fees then you can list your coin anytime and it is also a good reputation for the coin to get listed in Bittrex as their are so many whales who play with coins and the coin get more recognition
926  Economy / Economics / Re: When will more retailers accept Bitcoin on: August 23, 2017, 01:47:29 PM
"Japan: No Bitcoin Tax, Thousands of Stores to Accept the Cryptocurrency"

article published July, 5, 2017
https://edgylabs.com/2017/07/05/japan-no-bitcoin-tax-stores-accept-cryptocurrency/

"AirRegi is a widely used, tablet-based point-of-sale app in Japan. Currently, around 260,000 establishments, stores, and commercial facilities use this proprietary app to accept payments from their clients."

It makes sense that a transition to accept bitcoin would be underway for more US-based stores.
Bitcoin will be accepted by more retailers if it will be legal to a certain country and generally speaking, to most countries. Retailers on a certian country will ofcourse, allow people to use Bitcoin as a mode of payment if it is legal. And also, retailers may also acvept Bitcoin due to public demand. They'll follow what's being asked by the customers because they want to earn.
Yes, legalization is the main obstacle in way of practicing bitcoins in daily life. Retailers do fear accepting payments because of illegal nature of bitcoins. I heard some people are so afraid of using bitcoins that according to them, using bitcoins can put them behind the bars.

What you said is 100% correct here in my country i had talk with some of my trader friends who know about bitcoin but they are saying that till we dont get any correct taxable and legal status we cannot start accepting Bitcoin if tomorrow it get illegal status then all traders will come under illegal activity problem.
So it is very compulsory that Bitcoin get legal status then only it can flourish
927  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is BitcoinCash a joke? on: August 18, 2017, 03:34:25 PM
Bitcoin cash is a compromise of sorts. It is a stand-alone coin and completely separate from Bitcoin. It was put out there as an attempt to calm the arguments centered around August 1st. Beyond that point, everything else is conjecture and opinion. Its price was high at start but as people realize it is just an Altcoin, the price will be decreasing fast of Bcc.

What you are telling is true , that Bitcoin cash is nothing but a altcoin duplicate of Bitcoin but its process are different, and the whales are playing this coin as this coins is distributed freely to who ever holded btc on August 1st when the fork happened. So who ever was holding high btc they got high bcc, so they are now playing with this coin as they got free coins to play
928  Economy / Economics / Re: If Bitcoin goes up very high should i buy a house? on: August 18, 2017, 02:24:06 PM
If Bitcoin goes up very high should i buy a house?

Ive been thinking if it went into very high figures i could cash out 80-90% of bitcoin and buy a house outright with no mortgage.  Is that even a good idea though? - basically 80% of networth in a house hmmm.  On the other hand i dont want to have a mortgage and im fed up with renting due to landlords, letting agents and lack of control.

Of course you should. Just i would cash out 60% only and keep rest for future or something else, in case that price rises even more. So yeah, if price will be ever high enough for you to buy house, then you should do that. Bitcoin price might fall down or you simply might lose them, but if you buy house before that nobody will take it from you.

Who told that nobody can not take it from you, if your property value goes up then their are chances of political person or any high profile likes your property then they will force you to leave your property. So their are always danger in any position, but it is true that investing in property is good idea because life's 50% of expenses is on giving house rent , so the main problem will be solved if you have own property and Bitcoin can fullfill your wish.

930  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading sucks, I'll just hold my coins on: August 15, 2017, 08:19:05 PM
Yesterday I just lost 1.8k USD, maybe in USA or in West Europe that's doesn't much, but here in my shitty country that's a f* big amount of money. Here the minimum wage is ~ 300 USD / month. So that's like 6 month of work if I cut my bread and water and live on air. Half of my saving were other investments, but anyways... I'm feeling shitty right now. Oh, and I break my laptop. So yeah, that's another - 500 usd.

I though I can trade. Buy low, sell high. Sounds good, doesn't work.

Looking at the charts and candle sticks and watching old bitcoin values, and huge spikes (pump, I saw here how people uses the pump word, daaaamn...) I was... yeah, I can totally do that. I'll just buy when it's low, and sell it when it reaches the top. Well, I was wrong. You can't see the future, otherwise everyone would be a millionaire. That would be true if you would have a delorean from '85 with Emmett Brown and Marty Mcfly and you could f* travel in future and see the PUMPS!!!1

So anyone who will read this message (noobs like me) if you don't have any trading experience, don't do it. There are expert traders who know how this market works, when to buy and when to sell. Don't assume your skills by watching youtube videos and reading "daily indexes and predictions" of how the price will rise or go down by shitty sites. That's just dumb. You don't know what's gonna happen. Maybe a little bit of luck, or I don't know.

So yeah, from now on, I'll just leave the trading area for experts and I will invest in bitcoin by buying every 2 week or monthly and saving into my wallet. And one day (I hope so) the price will rise and I will buy for my self a delorean.

Cheers!

You made yourself lose money by selling.

You were being greedy and thought you had to cash out or something? Why did you sell and make yourself lose though? What coin was it?

The first rule of trading is to not lose money. If you would just hold for awhile the price would likely go back up.
I can't see where it says that his lost was as a result of selling his Bitcoin and you may want to know that losing is equally as probable whether you buy or sell, what to makes any difference, is the knowledge, experience and skills a trader brings to the market and those were explicitly missing out in op's kit. Something newbies ought to take to heart is the fact that trading is an art and takes lots of learning and practicing to get used to.

It is true that in trading  if you dont have patience and long term view then it is better not to trade, because price wont always go up it will also come to low that time is the time to buy bitcoins.
931  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is BitcoinCash a joke? on: August 15, 2017, 08:02:18 AM
I hope bcc will rise in price like his bitcoin

Ya it will as it is just the duplicate of Bitcoin but it is an altcoin so it will be used as pump and dump coins for trading and big whales will use it to earn revenue from it. But bitcoin will be the main coin always.
932  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BTC price on: August 15, 2017, 07:53:21 AM
Hello everyone!

Tell me please i Wanted to know in what price i bought specific coin I have the price in BTC but that price doesnot reflect today price
So I wanted to know if there an option to see the price rate i bought in USD ( I trade on Bittrex )

Thank you for your help!
If you bought from a BTC/COIN pair, there is no way to know the price in USD other than checking the Bitcoin price at the time of purchase.

Or you can create an account at AltPocket[1], import your trades with your Bittrex API token and it will show for how much you bought and how much you profited/lost in BTC and USD.

[1] https://altpocket.io/

Firstthank you for your response

So Basically I cant know the price I bought in USD? only the price in BTC?

If you have bought BTC in USD through exchange then i think you can get the transaction detail by checking your transaction records. But if you have bought them through btc then you cannot know the value in  usd.
933  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Help me choose a wallet for ETH on: August 15, 2017, 07:00:24 AM
May I ask - why Desktop and not mobile? Usually desktop is pretty insecure

How can you tell that Desktop wallet is not secure and mobile wallet is secure. because as much i know mobile wallet is more insecure then desktop wallet because if you lose your mobile wallet like mobile getting broken or anything damage then you cannot recover it. But in desktop wallet their are so many ways to secure your account.

I am using myetherwallet and really very satisfied as they give private keys so that we can in control of our account and can access in any ETH wallet.
934  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: are bitcointalk accounts worth money on: August 14, 2017, 09:45:26 PM
If all these accounts worth that much money, does it mean that someone can create tons of new accounts and grow them into hero and legendary accounts and sell them??
Personally, it seems too easy to earn money in this way. Am I missing some point? I am not really familiar with the account ranking.

That's what people here do. It's referred to as account farming.

I don't think many stick around long enough to turn those accounts into heroes or legends. And if they are sold they're usually tagged as farmed accounts. It's very obvious from the quality of the posting.

Considering the amount of time it takes, at least a year or two to reach hero level, there are better things people can do with their time.

What you are telling is true but still their are so many users who are just doing this work and are earning good because they dont bother what the users are doing after they sell the high rank account to them. They just need payment against the account they sell. Until their are buyers their will be sellers if the buyers dont buy accounts on their price they wont be able to sell and then they will stop this work.
935  Local / India / Re: i am selling Antminers In INDIA on: August 14, 2017, 09:15:45 PM
hello friend i sell antminers

it was pain in ass to import them, but will sell them as i need money for opening my hosting company

i currently have

6 X Antminer S9
3 X antminer L3+
4 X Antminer D3 ( backordered )

will sell them in india only ships from karnal, haryana

payment in BTC
Hi, now that you have sold all, can you share your experience on customs in detail on the forum for other members who are potentially looking at buying miners from bitmain in future.

If you properly check his posting then you will realize that he has ordered the mining hardware but has not got any delivery and stuck in buying deal, that is why he just posted that he sold it and did not gave any details about it. Better to stay away from this user and with his dealings.
936  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading altcoin and holding bitcoin which one is more profitable? on: August 14, 2017, 09:10:28 PM
I have come to realize in recent time that holding bitcoin in ones wallet is more profitable and a little bit risk free as compared to trading altcoin or what do you think ?

It it upto your experience because some are good in trading altcoin and earning nicely and some are very bad in trading. but both are profitable if you are able to control your emotions. Holding bitcoin is always a good investment but in the mean time you can trade in altcoin with that bitcoin and earn some more bitcoins in your investment. but their is always risk of losing also so you should be ready for anything
937  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Being Unemployed Drives People to go to Bitcoin on: August 14, 2017, 08:58:49 PM
Yes,bitcoin is nothing less than a blessing to unemployed people. It has given a new earning opportunity to them.It makes them financially free and it improves their standard of living.People even belonging to poor countries also benefit from bitcoin. It indirectly helps for the progress of a nation by solving unemployment problem.

Definitely it is a blessing for those people that are unemployed that wants to earn very good amount. And for the people who are employed they are also thinking if they can shift into bitcoin and forget their current jobs. Driving to bitcoin or riding the bus of bitcoin is one of the best decision a person will do.

I am one of the person who have taken bitcoin earning as full time and now i am earning more then what i use to get in my daily life job. Their are lot of ways to earn through this forum if you work hard you can earn very nicely.
938  Economy / Speculation / Re: Remember $4,300 this is one of your last chance to get cheap coin on: August 14, 2017, 08:56:23 PM
You should take a long look at the 1 day chart of Bitcoin. It has seen a massive pump and doubled in price within 1 month and is clearly in the overbought region of the RSI. It will come back down. The question is when. I'd only buy now if it was long-term. Otherwise it's foolish if in a few weeks you might only have to pay 2.5-3k after a correction.

Like you lot of them are now waiting for correction so that they can buy but i think it will move more 100 or 200 usd and then we can see a little correction but their wont be massive correction. and still $4300 price we have to see so dont jump on any conclusion very soon.
939  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Does anyone use Coinbase? on: August 14, 2017, 08:54:25 PM
It is a web wallet to store bitcoin but now using this online wallet is also to costly as they are now charging for incoming and outgoing transaction also. Even storing high coins is not safe as any time they can block your account giving any shit excuses. So it is much better to go with hardware or desktop wallet which is very good and strong in security.
940  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2016/17 on: August 14, 2017, 02:48:48 PM
I cant see any other scenario than Madrids win.
Barca lost Neymar this summer and he was a key player in this team. Moreover, Real Madrid are in a very good shape atm and Zidane knows how to win Barca.
If you are currently watching today's game, you will notice that though Barcelona are clearly dominating the game with regards to possession as usual but Real Madrid are clearly making inroads into their defence with more shots on goals, but with the magical Messi in the game, things can change very quickly.

The result matches my expectations, Real Madrid won. But the referee's performance needs to be evaluated. Especially because they've made mistakes, and there are two very big mistakes, namely diving Suarez and Ronaldo's red card. Suarez is clearly diving but the referee gives a penalty kick. Then Ronaldo's red card, I do not think it's an offense, but it's not a diving from Ronaldo either. Ronaldo lost the balance, then there was little contact from Umtiti, Umtiti did not commit a foul, but Ronaldo will indeed fall. The loss for Real Madrid should be without Ronaldo in the next game.

Althought the red card to Ronaldo, Real madrid made it and won 3-1 in the first EL Clasico of the season.
Now Im raising my bet on Real Madrid to win the league.

Ronaldo did the biggest mistake in the game when he removed off his shirt..

I mean, he probably knew that it is going to cause him to receive a yellow card, what was the reason to do that?

Anyway Barcelona played well, Real scored when Barcelona's defense was away from the goal keeper.
Real Madrid is going to the !laLiga board to demand the removal of the second yellow card that Cristiano had and they need to do that because Cristiano will get 5 games suspention after he pushed the ref after getting the second yellow card so he wil miss the second leg of the Super also the first four games in the league so they have to demand the removal of the second card if they want him not getting puished . and the Spanish board may help Real Madrid this time because to be honest the referee performance was very low he gave Barcelona a questionable Penalty kick also Cristiano second yellow was little bit harsh Ronaldo wlost his balance and there was some small balance with umtiti there was not defintly a faul but there was no use for a yellow

5 suspension matches is an absurd punishment for a red card, wrong.
Maybe they want to penalize the real madrid because it is significantly stronger than the opponents and want to try to balance the Liga.
Surely the CR7 reaction is wrong but justified by the error of evaluation.

5 match suspension is not only for red card but pushing the referee is wrong as it shows that you dont respect the referee and its decision, let the decision be wrong their are other officials who will take care and you should know to control your anger when you are playing.
