Burst. HDD mining is on an all time high as you can see in this chart and that means the price will follow to reflect its real market value.

Theres also a big update coming entitled the Dymaxion. Whatever it is, dont take it out of context and keep all your exceptions low. It can be big, but it can also be nothing.

More discussions about it can be found in Burst's subreddit.
922  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cloud Mining Journey (with Hashflare) on: December 07, 2017, 03:13:40 AM

This makes sense if the whole thing is a ponzi scheme and they need new blood to pay the old blood but new blood is not coming in. $H!t! What have I gotten into?

If you start considering BTC's rising difficulty, your mining contract will gain profit less and less if you dont reinvest the profits. Having said that your ROI will take longer than you expected, while the miners are happily hedging their risk by using their customers deposits to buy new mining equipment and to pay for, in your words, the old blood.

923  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Has NIcehash been hacked? on: December 07, 2017, 02:57:58 AM
Oh no, sorry Nicehash users. However you should have not been investing in cloudmining in the first place. The profit gained is more advantageous to the operator than the user.

Having said that, is anyone expecting a twist in the story? All it needed was one heinous employee to execute the "hack".
924  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A case for Burst's proof of capacity on: December 07, 2017, 02:39:53 AM
When will the wasteful use of energy end? The answer is never, as long as the price is of a PoW cryptocurrency is going up. But it doesnt have to be like this forever. Help us rally the cause for energy efficient alternatives like Burst's Proof of Capacity.

BITCOIN MINING GUZZLES ENERGY—AND ITS CARBON FOOTPRINT JUST KEEPS GROWING

Reddit Discussion

  • Today, each bitcoin transaction requires the same amount of energy used to power nine homes in the US for one day. And miners are constantly installing more and faster computers. Already, the aggregate computing power of the bitcoin network is nearly 100,000 times larger than the world’s 500 fastest supercomputers combined.

  • The total energy use of this web of hardware is huge—an estimated 31 terawatt-hours per year. More than 150 individual countries in the world consume less energy annually. And that power-hungry network is currently increasing its energy use every day by about 450 gigawatt-hours, roughly the same amount of electricity the entire country of Haiti uses in a year.

  • This is an unsustainable trajectory. It simply can’t continue.
925  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Burstcoin [BURST] Price Speculation on: December 07, 2017, 01:54:31 AM
Burst price not moving at all, i though new release wallet would make it to the moon.

Not moving at all?? The price rose exponentially the last week.

Speculation: given the fact that more and more people are getting aware of the fact bitcoin consumes enormous amounts of energy, Burst has way more functionality than bitcoin, and the PoCC is doing great work, I'd say Burst rises to (at the current Bitcoin rate) 500 Satoshi's before 2018.

I would not say it moved exponentially, because if it did, it would outpacing BTC and Burst should have cleared BTC.00000150 by now.

Your speculation is wrong. The market traders dont care about BTC's power consumption. They only care about money. Having said that, we should keep rallying for the cause and promote Proof of Capacity.

I hope Dymaxion would make the people discover Burst and PoC.

You can also discuss it in Burst's subreddit.
926  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Burstcoin [BURST] Price Speculation on: December 06, 2017, 02:53:03 AM
Bumping the thread for more Burst price discussions.

Where do you think will Burst be by the release of its latest and biggest upgrade called Dymaxion? The price appears to have started to burst forth. Pun intended lol.
927  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Burst's countdown to Dymaxion. Help me figure it out on: December 06, 2017, 02:32:05 AM
But if the PoCC's roadmap is finished or close to finish, will Burst be a suitable platform for big companies that want to use a blockchain?

Assuming we know what you really wanted to ask, the answer is this:

There is no company on this planet too big  for the Dymaxion.

I cant stop myself from going "hmmmm" followed by a smile and then laughing like Dr. Frankenstein like I know something that others dont. But at the same time I dont want to spread the word too much because I dont want to disappoint a lot of people.

Having said that, a small warning to everyone. Keep your expectations low. Dymaxion is not that good and dont buy Burst. Its risky.
928  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Soon I start my investment fund. on: December 05, 2017, 03:03:17 AM
Good luck lol. Please give the general community a favor and let it not be another ICO or crowdsale. We already have enough fraudsters taking advantage of newbs.

929  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Kenyan Police Arrest Bitcoin Traders Due to Alleged Banking Fraud on: December 05, 2017, 02:52:34 AM
If they wanted to launder the money they stole, then they were, without doubt, doing it wrong.

The best way to launder money is to first trade cash OTC to BTC, then use a service like Shapeshift to trade it to an anonymous cryptocurrency like XMR, send it to yourself using another XMR address, then use xmr.to to convert back to BTC.

Having said that, monitor XMR transaction volume. On 2018 ICO scammers might start using the method above to launder their coins clean.
930  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: HOW TO SETUP/MANAGE A BIG CRYPTOCURRENCY EXCHANGE LIKE POLO/BITTREX/CRYPTOPIA on: December 05, 2017, 01:52:24 AM
If you really want to start your own exchange but dont have you the experience to run one, or no experience to run a business then you have a very long road ahead of you including many failures and trials.

Having said that, you should first find a real job and gain some experience before going out on your own.
931  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Burst's countdown to Dymaxion. Help me figure it out on: December 05, 2017, 01:44:48 AM
Will there also be a partnership like what Stellar has with IBM?

No.

But if the PoCC's roadmap is finished or close to finish, will Burst be a suitable platform for big companies that want to use a blockchain?

From my perspective, all development on blockchains should have the big companies in mind. Because a small community of users will not be enough to reach Burst's full potential.
932  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I’ve sent BCH to BTC address on: December 04, 2017, 02:45:46 AM
About the issue, I would like to comment that something has to be done on the confusion between BTC forks. Any wallet, hardware or otherwise, should give the user enough warnings to make sure that they arent blindly sending BTC to BCH wallets.

If a coin is not a Bitcoin, the word Bitcoin should be removed and it should be labeled something else in the wallet.

933  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Burst weekly report! The future is bright! on: December 04, 2017, 02:05:16 AM
The Burst community is getting very excited about the release of some new feature or features on the platform. But I want to tell everyone not to expect too much. If you do, you might end up in disappointed.

Having said that, good things are still coming, many thanks to all the PoCC's hard work.

Weekly Burst Report #13 – 12/03/2017

  • The important news of the week! In last week’s report, I discussed the extensive code reformating that is currently taking place within the Burst core and why it is a good sign. It turns out the PoC Consortium have big things planned for 2017, as they recently stated on Twitter.

  • And it doesn’t stop here. Yesterday the Burst roadmap was updated, as announced by a @Burstcoin_dev tweet that was also asking to “pay attention to the details”. Some people quickly found out about a particular element under the “current” category of the roadmap: When asked about it, the PoC Consortium responded with a very interesting link. Check it out: https://dymaxion.burst.cryptoguru.org/

  • Although we can expect something really big from the PoC Consortium by December 27th, that doesn’t mean we cannot expect smaller things too. As @rico666 stated on bitcointalk.org, “we have the iOS version of the wallet ready for over a month, but Apple is blocking it (as they do with basically all Alt-Wallets)”. The PoCC seems to currently armwrestle with Apple to get the Burst mobile wallet listed in the iOS App store.

  • Some exclusive news from BurstNation: they are going to release a new core wallet jar file with websockets implemented. Testing is complete and they are currently packaging it for release. What are the benefits of such a thing? According to @Focus, “sync speeds have gone up from 100~150 blocks per minute to approximately 5000-10000 blocks per minute depending on your cpu/bandwidth”.
934  Economy / Economics / Re: The impact of futures trading on commodities and my worry for BTC on: December 04, 2017, 01:29:38 AM
I am very surprised by the forum's lack of response! Maybe its because no one understood my post or no cares that the CME's futures market will possibly be the spot market for basing BTC's price on.

They are taking over and that should be a red flag for us.
935  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Burst's countdown to Dymaxion. Help me figure it out on: December 04, 2017, 01:19:28 AM
This is the timer, Dymaxion Countdown

First lets find what the meaning of Dymaxion is.

According to Wikipedia it's "a term that Buckminster Fuller associated with much of his work—prominently his Dymaxion House and Dymaxion Car. Dymaxion, a portmanteau of the words dynamic, maximum, and tension sums up the goal of his study, "maximum gain of advantage from minimal energy input.""

But what does that mean for Burst holders? Is it a new Proof of Capacity algorithm, a new way to build smart contracts more efficiently, or will Burst be a better and more secure platform for developing DAPPs?

Will there also be a partnership like what Stellar has with IBM?

Help.
936  Economy / Exchanges / Re: What exchanges should do to lower withdrawal fees on: December 04, 2017, 01:09:10 AM
Enable Segwit. They should really work on their Segwit implementation to reduce withdrawal fees. Bittrex charges .001 per BTC withdrawal.

Why do they keep everything the same? All those fees are going to the miners anyway, not the exchange.

Segwit is only ~2x savings in fees. I'm guessing the exchanges aren't taking that much heat re: fees from customers. Most of the exchanges are busy adding more shitcoins, rather than implementing Segwit.

It's fine, anyway. Segwit was opt-in for a reason.....

But they should take the heat regarding the fees. Its the same with localbitcoins.com, they should looking for other solutions instead of going for the easy way like increasing the fees.

Having said that, Bitstamp is one of the best examples that exchanges should follow.

The PoCC just tweeted this URL. https://dymaxion.burst.cryptoguru.org/

What is the dymaxion?

Whatever it is, if it makes the Burst platform as one of thr standards to build projects on then I would say that is a Big Fucking Announcement indeed. But with all that technical superiority, a good marketing plan is needed. The PoCC would put all that work to waste if no one cares to use it.
939  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] PoC Consortium Stage 1: BURST on: December 03, 2017, 02:47:50 AM
Rico666, but from a general perspective, is the BFA big news if you recalibrate your own expectations to what the general community's expectations are?

I say general community because we need Burst's community own to grow if it wants to go somewhere and become something.
940  Economy / Services / Re: GRAFT - Credit Card and Crypto Payment Processing Network | Signature & Avatar Campaign | [CFNP] on: December 02, 2017, 04:37:27 AM
Maybe its better to use dollar values for payments and adjust BTC payments accordingly.
