Since this probably will not be added any time soon, try using Watchlist Wink

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=watchlist
using the watch list would only be good if you oath wise want to watch it. However if you want to casually monitor and potentially reply to it then this would not be the best solution.

Why not? You click watchlist, you see someone has posted a reply (the casually monitor part) and can decide if you want to read it now (click on it) or not (do not click on it). If you read the new replys you can still decide if you want to answer or not. And even if no new replies came in since you last checked and now want to answer you can still find the thread under Watchlist -> Edit Watchlist.

I dont see how going to the subboard in question and searching the x first pages for the thread is better.

Also OP asked about topics started, which are automatically on your watchlist and have to be manually removed.
9223  Other / Meta / Re: Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules, guidelines, FAQ on: August 17, 2014, 06:59:48 PM
While this pop ups, do you mind adding in post links to the specific sections, so its easier to give someone a direct link to a certain rule or FAQ point?

E.g.

Since I cant post the edited OP in a code block (because it has /code in it), here is an edited version:

it will expire in 1 day
9224  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Transaction schedule on: August 17, 2014, 06:33:25 PM
Hello everyone
I`m thinking about building a business with a friend of mine. The business would use bitcoin as its primer currency, because we expect most of the transactions to be rather small amounts of money (1 to 5 $).

So with bitcoin @ 500 USD/BTC you are talking about 2mBTC to 10 mBTC Id think the fee of 0.1mBTC could be a problem as its 1-5% of the coins transfered each time and you also want to profit. How would you solve this?

I don`t really want to go into details about the idea, but our goal is to only operate as a middleman in the market. The transactions of our business would have to happen as follows:
The user sends us a small fraction of a bitcoin and would define a time frame after which the money should get transferred to another user. From this amount we would take some % for us as profits.

How can you time in advance when the TX will be confirmed? Or could your customer only determine when the TX will be broadcasted?

The problem is, our idea would only work if there were a lot of users. And if we achieve this, it implies that we have too many transactions to handle them manually.
So my question is, how can we automatically transfer the coins after a certain time, in a professional way?

I assume blocknotify and walletnotify are the way to go here. Just make sure they only feed some sort of queue.

User a for example would define that he wants his money to get transferred to user b after 2 days and 1 hour. How can we do this transaction in an automated way.

You can use a local (well on your server/network) locally bitcoin client in server mode (see json rpc).

And how can we store the coins securely within this time?

Make the payment arrive at cold storrage and since you have a timetable when you need to send coins you can manually fill a hot wallet that automatically handles the timed TX from you to the destiny. E.g. do not allow times less than 8 hours in advance so you know how much you need in the hot wallet for the next 8 hours and can fill it in 3 shifts each day.

Do they have to be online the whole time, or could we have a better solution whit cold storage in some form?
Any suggestions?

Thanks guys

That would actually be a good idea. I often see newbs create the exact same thread in the same sub after their post has been moved (must just think it's disappeared or something).

Yeah I'm new and not to familiar with the places I can post and one of mine got moved and I was confused first of all.

Since this probably will not be added any time soon, try using Watchlist Wink

I assume you will still have a choice, same as with JD. I am with doog here, if I dont get the "invest only" setting soon I have to withdraw in order to restrain myself or probably gamble it all... Well, unless you could maybe give me your willpower +10 ring? Wink

His point is that he doesn't want *us* to have a choice - then we'll play and lose, and he'll benefit. Get it?

I would luv to re-enroll if Stunna is kind enough to continue this...

Post count: 163
why do you say it? There's some reason why he can stop it?

Its Stunnas campaign, he can stop it any time. If you read the last 2-10 pages you will find plenty of posts discussing opinions if this campaign should be changed and how.

I need to be enrolled for an entire month or I can be enrolled even after the 17th?

You can join later, but you have to stay till the end of the period or you can not claim payment.
9232  Local / Projektentwicklung / Re: App: Mining auf Android on: August 17, 2014, 09:46:19 AM

9233  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Backup question on: August 17, 2014, 09:30:34 AM
Hello, I would like to ask a question with a specific example.

Let's say I use bitcoin core. I backed up my wallet.dat file with 1 BTC balance, then I spent 0.2 BTC leaving my balance with 0.8 BTC.

Suddenly my computer crashed and I lost all file on It but I still have my backup which I did at 1 BTC balance.

So, when I will paste my backed up wallet.dat file on other computer what balance will I get? Is it 0.8 BTC?

Yes when you restore you wallet.dat you will have the amount of BTC you had last (not at the time of the backup). That is because the wallet.dat does not contain your bitcoins, but the private keys you need to spend your coins. There is actually no single place where the bitcoins are. The blockchain ist just a long list of inputs and outputs which together form transactions. If you have a private key that allows you use an unspend output of 1 BTC, you "control" or "have" 1 BTC.

I think its a very bad video, these cuts midsentence are horrible, its way to long and lengthy. There are some neat facts in there, but this is defintly not something Id want to see if I knew nothing about bitcoin.

Regarding the " syncronizing with the network " is there any way to speed up that process? I only have 10 active conections to the Bitcoin network.

It has 24 hours pending to confirm, which can take perfectly 30-60 min to be sync, is it normal or it should take less time?

I think that it's because the download speed here is bad, but the amount of data to download is small too  Huh

Its not that much to download no, but sadly there is not much you can do to speed it up. Seeing that you have 10 connections you allready opened the port for connections from the outside. You could try to connect to a fallback node [1] in your area (network wise) in order to have at least one peer with a fast connection.

Hey HitBTC, what is happening with this? I've completely forgotten your test, nothing has been posted for weeks.

Still nothing. Account is active but only posting the same generic crap.

At least post that the deal is off because jadda jadda jadda

@doog : invest only accounts will come soon to DB Smiley Its one of the promised feats Wink

Nooooo I like the divest, bet, invest dance!  As an investor with strong willpower I discourage this feature XD

I assume you will still have a choice, same as with JD. I am with doog here, if I dont get the "invest only" setting soon I have to withdraw in order to restrain myself or probably gamble it all... Well, unless you could maybe give me your willpower +10 ring? Wink

What kind of changes he's gonna makes?

We dont know, thats the point. You can enroll, there is no limit (yet?). This is all we currently know.

If anyone sees this please read this and share your opinion:

I'm toying around with the idea of having a set group of people who I've personally deemed are high quality posters to continue to get paid per post count and branching off the campaign to allow anyone to join on and off instantly and use a PD3 referral link which will automatically credit their account (I'd likely boost the referral rate to something like 20%+ for those not being paid per post)

I'm confident doing this would greatly cut down on forum spam, while the very high quality posters who I select would have the option to continue the campaign as it exists privately or swap to a referral based payment.

This isn't at all decided, so feel free to weigh in.
9239  Other / Meta / Re: Account Hacked Help Plz! on: August 16, 2014, 09:15:49 PM
In my opinion, bayuo is the only one providing solid evidence as to why the Zedicus account should be his. If we are going to assume that every time a situation like this pops up it is because a user sold his account, it can lead down a very slippery slope. I don't think that should be assumed unless this scenario happens to a user more than once or evidence is provided (IE. Screenshots of negotiations and payment transaction IDs.)

It makes perfect sense to show these information only to an admin as bought accounts are frowned upon. It is allowed, yet the community does not like it.

Anyways.. I am completely against the selling of forum accounts as they can only be used for nefarious purposes such as cheating coin giveaways, alt coin distributions, or signature campaigns. Or for simply scamming forum users by purchasing an account that people would trust by other means.

Thanks for making my point here.

Wallet öffnen -> Geld senden -> Daten eingeben* -> Zahlung senden -> warten

ABER   -shame on me-  was ist 2FA ??
