I think it would be an interesting metric to track and see exactly how much traffic you're getting from signature link clicks vs people going directly to PD.  I'm a bit confused by your idea, though.  Maybe it's because I've been up working too long .  So, you would have a group of handpicked posters that continue to get paid per post, and everyone else would use a referral link in their signature?  If I'm reading that correctly, the PD signature campaign continues to exist as it does now for a selected group, while anyone else can put a PD referral link in their sig, and earn from their referrals?

I realize going through the mountain of posts is probably more than a full time job.  I mean honestly, how can you go through and proof 400 posts per user to ensure they aren't filled with one liners and random spam?  You and Micro and whoever else you've got helping you out with this are saints.  Obviously for you it would be far easier just to have a limited set of trusted users who you know are quality posters.  That way, you can just get the post count and send the BTC, without going through the tedium of looking at post after post of user after user to ensure they don't have 300 posts of worthless garbage.

From my perspective, I know I look at people's signatures to see what they're promoting.  I also know that I pay far more attention to those signatures from people who post well thought out discussions than from people posting thinly veiled attempts to pad their own pockets.  To me quality advertising will win out any day over the shotgun effect of spraying as much as you can on the wall to see what sticks.

An alternative idea that I've seen a sig campaign try is to basically "kick" certain people and allow the rest to continue posting. In other words you would just be more discerning about who you let continue the campaign. I guess this sounds like what you're proposing but under my idea you would allow MOST sig campaign members to continue as opposed to your idea where I feel like you'll only select a very small number to continue on.

Edit:  another thought is that I know I for one DO deduct non-constructive posts. I mean isn't it possible for you just to kick people who try to scam the system?  Like if someone posts that they did 100 quality posts and you check and see it's only 90, just kick them and don't let them back in. And eventually you'll see who's honest and they can continue on.

I personally would not like this as it would likely result in a few "lucky" people getting a lot of earnings while most others would likely earn next to nothing. If there are 4 or 5 PD3 signatures on a page on a thread, it is really just the luck of the draw which one someone clicks on if they are going to click on the link regardless of the quality of each of the posts. Also, I think for medium sized posts with no to 2 or 3 "quotes" it would actually be more likely that someone would click on the signature above a high quality post then the signature on the high quality post if both signatures are the same as the top of a person's screen is more likely to be looked at then the bottom and due to the fact that a person will not scroll down until they reach the text at the bottom of their screen.

Assuming that PD3 is profitable (after things like hosting, internet access, cloud flare, security, payments to devs, marketing - this campaign), I would suggest trying to more accurately measure how effective this campaign is. I would suggest starting by changing signatures so that everyone would use a campaign referral link. In other words everyone would use the same referral link. At this point you could better measure how man clicks you get from the campaign to PD3, how many people sign up and the EV of the house edge when they signup with the campaign referral link. The most effective way to measure the effectiveness of the campaign is the EV of the bets placed by people who signed up after clicking on a signature. If for example these people place 1,000BTC in bets in the month of August (you would be expected to make 9BTC off of these bets) but you spend only 5BTC then the campaign is profitable and would likely not need to cut costs. If on the other hand you were to be expected to make 9BTC but spend 12BTC on the campaign then you would obviously likely want to make changes. You could audit the fact that everyone is using the correct referral link using the import HTML function on "spreadsheet" on google docs.

The above would not be the only way to measure effectiveness, as the number of clicks and subsequent bets should also be measured as someone may have an account they do not use on PD, but seeing the ad reminds them of their account and they decide to play.

One other option that I would suggest would be to pay a lower amount per post but also allow for referral links. You could for example cut per post payments by 20% but also allow for a reduced payout via referrals. IMO the best way to keep track of this would be to use a member's "u" # and add payment when payouts are made. One other variant of this would be to base the per post payment on how many months an account has been enrolled in the campaign. The first month would have a low per post rate, and a high referral rate, the 2nd month would have a higher per post rate and a lower referral rate, this pattern would continue until maybe 4 or 5 months when the per post rate is similar to what it is now and the referral rate is very low. A special referral link could be used for this and audited in a similar way as above (importhtml using google docs spreadsheet - lack of space intentional). The initial per post rate would discourage spammers and would encourage people to stay in the campaign over the long term. Spammers would likely also be able to be weeded out over time as they may be able to slip through the cracks for a month or two, but over several months this would be more difficult.

One thing of importance is that other campaigns that have shut down have offered users to be able to use their referral links if members kept their signature; few people would take them up on their offer. I think this would be a defacto shutting down of the PD campaign, which IMO would be very sad as this is the longest running and most reliable campaign out there. I would suspect that PD's success is because of the campaign's success.

Another thing to note is that the quality of the posts should not matter as long as the posts are not outright spam, and you are not getting spoken to about spam from the campaign from theymos (I would kind of doubt this would happen). As long as the campaign is profitable (see above) there is no reason to find ways to cut payments to members.

You submit using the link in the OP on the 17th, in 3 days.  If you don't have 50 quality posts, see below, then don't submit.  The posts roll over to the next month if the campaign is still using the same format.

How does one judge quality posts? 

I would imagine IIT questions are not but answers are.  No need to spread the word here with posts but helping the program run properly is a good thing.

Given I just signed up a week ago I doubt you've looked at my posting history to see whether it's quality or not which means I would not be in the chosen group.  Therefore this plan is not a good one for me personally.

That said, I think you should do what's best for primedice.  If there is an issue with senseless spamming then you should take some sort of action and rewarding the most productive posters sound like a merit based reward system which is always the best way to go.

Sad for those [like me] who came on too late to be considered but that's life and life goes on.

Sure I could get really lucky and have a whale (or many "dolphins") register via my affiliate link and make a killing, but at the same time the guaranteed bitcoin income from posting is more appealing to me (If my posts are deemed to be of higher quality).

Alternatively you could implement a system that benefits yourself as well as your posters by doing the following.

1. Allow PD referral links in signature links (special type of link that requires you to authorize its disbursement)
2. Continue to have a set pay-per-post rate
3. At the end of each month the affiliate gets to choose the higher of the two pay amounts (did they make more in referrals or on a per-post basis?), whichever is higher the affiliate receives.

Now at first this sounds like it would be disadvantageous to you, but let me explain. If a poster is bringing in large betters (and thus making you more money) that affiliate should receive more profit than an affiliate that brings in no gamblers for you. Or if an affiliate makes high quality posts and thus promotes brand recognition for you, they should receive more than a shitty poster that may make PD look bad.

Conclusions: We bring in big gamblers, we both win. We make a lot of high quality posts and build your brand reputation? We both win.

I used to bet on just-dice, but honestly I haven't seen their ads in so long, that I completely forgot about them. I rarely bet myself, but when I do, I use Primedice

I used to bet on just-dice, but honestly I haven't seen their ads in so long, that I completely forgot about them. I rarely bet myself, but when I do, I use Primedice

I kinda like this one, I also think you should stop taking in members and full members.   I dont see much spam since the post count was shut down immensley, the only reason why u see complaints is cause you have to much members now, dont kill what has been working well with you. lol
