9241  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: March 25, 2021, 06:31:30 PM
Denver got Howard and McGee, Miami got Bijelica, Boston got Fournier. Chicago for Vucevič. 1 hour 20 minutes to go. Now things will got really busy. Markkanen, Lowry, ...

Looks like Denver got Aaron Gordon too. One of the bigger prizes on the block. Woj said that the NY Knicks are finalizing a deal to get Lonzo Ball and the Lakers are making a last minute effort to get Kyle Lowry from the Raptors. Usually takes some time for the dust to settle and deals to finalize even after the deadline hits, so we could be in for a little more news yet.
9242  Economy / Speculation / Re: Don't buy this dip yet! on: March 25, 2021, 10:51:17 AM
Given all the positive news about Bitcoin lately, I think you’d be wise to buy sooner rather than later. This Friday’s options expiry could very well be the last chance to buy before the next leg up. The important thing is to not buy using leverage and to not buy unless you’re going to hold until it hits your predetermined sell point.
9243  Other / Meta / Re: VOD should be removed from default trust for systematic abuse of his position on: March 25, 2021, 10:44:07 AM
Generally speaking, no one cares about this stupid drama.

Maybe because it isn’t their family that’s being harassed by a mentally ill stalker and their reputations being smeared all over the Internet for doing nothing but trying to help this community and standing up for the truth. The fact “nobody cares” is beyond sad and a massive failure that should be addressed.

You think the targeted attacks against me and those responsible will just stop this type of behavior when I’m gone? You see time and time again people asking why the older members don’t stick around... This is why. At some point maybe some people should get over themselves and start to care about what’s best for the forum and it’s members’ futures.
9244  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: March 25, 2021, 10:29:25 AM
Feels a bit like the night before Christmas. I imagine a lot of NBA players and their families are having a sleepless night tonight. There are a lot of things I am jealous of when it comes to NBA players, but having no control over what city you’ll be spending most of your time in is not one of them.

Now to watch Woj’s Twitter feed for the breaking news.
9245  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Gold & Diamond Bitcoin Pendant on: March 25, 2021, 12:30:58 AM
I feel like I should share a bit of the 'origin story' of this piece.
It was originally inspired by this piece commissioned for TECSHARE in 2015:

I wanted one of these pendants of my profile image at the time, but I was sinking most of my funds into miners and minting coins back then so I decided to sacrifice my wants and wait for a more appropriate time.  After the 2017 bubble, I was finally able to create my profile pendant and for whatever reason I have always thought of this thread with TECSHARE when I look at it.  Now that TECSHARE has passed, I felt it might be good to share how I will always view him in my head, which is the above photo.  RIP TECSHARE.

+43 pages talking about Vod...   Roll Eyes

Yet even after all that over half a decade among many other complaints, still no action has been taken.

I'm a bit curious how far a person can go these days before being removed from the default trust network by the administration and why users here haven't taken their responsibility seriously enough to exclude this behavior by adding ~Vod to their trust network.
9247  Economy / Economics / Re: Miners Hodling Rates Increases. on: March 24, 2021, 11:31:05 PM
Is it a good sign for bitcoiners? Or we should get ready for a massive dumb incoming?

I think it shows that the market is expecting an increase in the BTC/USD exchange rate.  Typically I would say this is a bad thing, but in this case I think people in positions of influence have been pretty open about large companies and funds' plans to make future purchases of BTC.  This will most assuredly cause a price increase, so what we're seeing with miners is that they want to be the ones who are selling to those large companies at much higher rates than today and are positioning themselves as such.
9248  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Bitcoin White Paper rare silk-screen printing on: March 24, 2021, 11:21:54 PM
This is the first lightning auction I've seen.  I'm curious how many users will take part.  Good luck!

I like the artwork.  It's many blends of past and future styles/objects is very clever.  I particularly like the background that gives it a printed on a sand bag look.  Nice job.
9249  Economy / Reputation / Re: Why does Foxpup only send negative feedback? on: March 24, 2021, 09:33:07 PM
I find it interesting that some people would prefer handing out negative consequences to positive reinforcement.  I think those people must have never raised a dog, or at least not a very good one...

I find it interesting that you're comparing all those noobs you green-trusted for buying trinkets from you with zero risk to raising dogs... makes sense then you think about your trust farming and trust abuse. Fluffy puppies.

LOL. Now you’re attacking me for leaving positive trust to users who have purchased my goods. Some of which are sales of valuable items like 10oz gold coins... Saying I sell trinkets like the trust network is some elites only zone. Somehow this is worse than you giving positive feedback to mentally ill users even the administration says deserves negative feedback?

Anything to deflect from the topic though right? Typical behavior. Someone complains about a user spreading negativity everywhere and you try and turn it into a subject about my leaving positive feedbacks for genuine real world trades as if it were bad...
9250  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com - UFC Official Betting Partner - Play Smarter 🥊 on: March 24, 2021, 08:11:16 PM
I do not feel like I can play in the third party places, it just feels so wrong, it is not even provably fair. I understand other people who play it, and I understand that Stake would definitely pay it if there was a provably wrong thing by any third party app, so that's fine, but why risk it? That is why I do not tell others to not play there, they can play there, it is a risk they are taking but when you are in Stake that risk is very little, you are basically risking getting scammed by third party app and be paid by stake so not a big deal, maybe just a bit of time and inconvenience and that is why it is not a big deal even for me who doesn't play it.

However I rather not risk that, the original stake games on the other hand are great, they are provably fair and that is why I liked stake and that's why I will continue to gamble there as well on the original places but that's it.
I think I can agree with that, you do not have to play the third party games, after all they are not provably fair and why would anyone play at a place that has no provably fair. This is why I have started to play at other places more and more and play here less and less, haven't even gambled for the past week whereas I use to gamble every day.

This place became a place that has thousands of games that are not provably fair when they were actually the place that started the provably fair talks in crypto, and also this place moved from "giving out free money in faucet" place turning into "if you are not rich, we do not care about you at all, your support will wait for 48 hours while we take care of 100 rich people at the same time". Hence, all those things that degraded from the early days into today made me not really like it here as much as I used to.

These types of concerns are why I stick only to sports betting where you only need to worry about the odds.

I think most of the provably fair claims from online casinos can be taken with a grain of salt.  Rarely is it verified and things can change quickly as well as "mistakes" can be made.  If you aren't verifying for yourself that operations aren't provably fair, you shouldn't believe they are and if you don't believe they are, you shouldn't use them.
9251  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: March 24, 2021, 08:05:55 PM
Trade deadline will be a bit boring this season as it appears. I wasn't really expecting something this boring, the biggest news is PJ Tucker trade and you can definitely get how unimportant that was by naming it PJ Tucker trade. At the end of the day, we are going to see some changes at the off-season but this season teams are not willing to make big moves just yet.

Plus, this is trade "deadline" so that means teams could have made trades beforehand, look at how Harden was traded to Nets and you will realize that teams could have traded whenever they want and they are not trading so deadline may not be a time where teams would make big moves. I wanted something huge, something that would make the news, something that gets at the top page of the reddit, but apparently nothing like that will happen. In any case, teams are settling in nicely, let's see who will win it this year.

Give it time.  The NBA loves doing things at the very last possible minute.

I'm reading that Victor Oladipo & Kyle Lowry are also likely suspects to be moved in the next 24 hours with Miami and Boston as rumored destinations for the two previous all stars.  If we don't see some movement in the next 24 hours I would agree with you, but when it comes to the NBA, give them every second because they need it.
9252  Economy / Reputation / Re: Why does Foxpup only send negative feedback? on: March 24, 2021, 08:00:52 PM
Misery loves company... I’m guessing a person’s personal happiness correlates strongly with the type of feedback they typically leave. Possibly also a feeling of helplessness in their own lives causes them to want an outlet for their frustration which tends to manifest itself in an abuse of any authority they may perceive themselves to have, in this case, leaving negative feedback in the DT network.
I would rather give every user a negative tag rather than a positive tag.

I would rather give no users negative tags, but unfortunately sometimes the personal abuse, lies, harassment, extortion, and stealing gets out of hand to the point where it's necessary in order for me to feel like I'm not letting the forum down with the responsibility thrust upon me.

I find it interesting that some people would prefer handing out negative consequences to positive reinforcement.  I think those people must have never raised a dog, or at least not a very good one...
9253  Other / Meta / Re: Feedback: You can't give more than 5 ratings to the same user on: March 24, 2021, 07:53:53 PM
Seems like a limit to stop the negative trust users from bombarding another users' feedback.  In my case, Vod has left me dozens of negative trust feedbacks, all full of lies.  As a result of this 5 rating limit, he has resorted to deleting old negative ratings and replacing them with new ones so that he can continue to try and have an overweighted view of his feedbacks.

I think this behavior should also be addressed, as it's a loophole to get around the intent of this limit.

I also think users who engage in this type of trust abuse (replacing old feedback with new fraudulent feedback for visibility) should not be allowed near the Default Trust Network.

If you agree that this type of behavior should not be allowed in the trust network, add ~Vod to your trust settings to exclude him and if you have any ideas how to combat this trolling behavior, please feel free to put them forth here.

A few of these "hockey pucks" are still available at https://nastyfans.org/mint

I love seeing orders for these monsters come through.  Only thing I love more than shipping them out to customers is seeing pics and hearing feedback once they're received!  Don't be shy to post pics of your newly acquired beauties!

With the trade deadline fast approaching it looks like the next 24 hours could have a bit of excitement. The two players I’m expecting to see moved are Lonzo Ball & Aaron Gordon. Lonzo rumored to be heading to Chicago or Philadelphia while Gordon is looking like he may be a Celtic. We should know soon enough!

9258  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Does this kind of project exist? Trying to find a bitcoin lottery ticket on: March 24, 2021, 08:21:59 AM
Yes there are numerous projects that have been created throughout the years by lowlife degenerates who think it is OK to steal other people's money just because they call it "luck" Wink. Of course none of them work because of the security that a 256-bit elliptic curve such as the one bitcoin uses provide.

I mean I called it a lottery for a reason... All the programs that I seem to find are linux based. Are you aware of any Windows with a GUI. I know its a super longshot.

As for your feelings regarding the people that make these programs, I completely understand. I wont debate the ethics of this right now.

I will leave you with this thought though, better thieves make better security. If for some reason, a way was found to find private keys faster than we currently think, or some method of "brute" forcing was proven to be more effective than it should be (as technology progress's) then I would hope bitcoin could fork and build a wall against this. (Mainly thinking of quantum computing, but hey, maybe some powerful AI will be developed soon...)

Why not solo mine and engage in a lottery where 1) you aren’t attempting to steal from someone, 2) you have an actual chance (albeit a small one) of getting a substantial amount of BTC, 3) you are helping secure the network instead of trying to break it?
9259  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: March 24, 2021, 07:58:43 AM
Nets vs Trailblazers - Nets is going to be without Kyrie will James Harden is questionable with a neck injury. That's why I'm quite surprised to see the ML line here as the Portland is not the favorite @1.62. I think Portland will have this one and for sure Dame and CJ will take advantage of Net's missing their two superstar.

edit: Harden is playing.

And no problem, Harden almost registered another triple double, he has 7 rebounds. Jeff Green still playing very good basketball, pouring in 20 points. But I really like Nicolas Claxton performance though, this kid is really making a statement of his own with the Nets.

Good for those who have bet on Nets because they are the underdog here, it's like 2.x odds for them ML.

I thought we were gonna see another great Damian Lillard finish once the game entered Dame Time. Unfortunately the Nets stuck it out and got the win. It’s funny that I expect some sort of last minute greatness from Dame after all his heroic end of game moments.
