...because they´re on my bank´s blacklist. So Bitcoin Central really must be scammers.
If you were put on the US no-fly list, would that mean you're a terrorist ? Probably not, but it does mean one can't fly.

Hey, why didn't make an announcement of you 12345th post? Or did I miss the party? Wait, what! I bet Psytoshi deleted it. Hero members like us shouldn't have our posts deleted.

It is the end of the month. Not much activity was noticed on 1DodoExzsNPvVRXFrgkKw6E259VjfUW8Kh I made an initial deposit of 0.1 BTC, I was also sending out free bitcoin requests to this address Total accumulated sum over the last month is thus BTC0.10730912 = £10.24 at today's MtGox rate. To minimise the costs, I am going to absorb any conversion rates. This means that I am transferring the BTC funds to my account, while sending Durrell Wildlife conservation trust a donation in British Pounds at today's conversion rate, rounded up to the nearest GBP = £11. The donation of £11 with Reference No: 130430-9097 was sent and marked with the following note: This is a donation, converted from Bitcoins, collected as the result of my Bitcoin Fundraising for Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust http://stanislavs.org/bitcoin-fundraising-for-durrell-wildlife-conservation-trust/ https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=167416.msg1742875#msg1742875
The campaign continues. Please donate anything between BTC0.1 and BTC0.001 to 1DodoExzsNPvVRXFrgkKw6E259VjfUW8Kh Every little helps! Two weeks ago I wrote the following letter to Anne-Marie Neal, an assistant fundraiser at the Trust. As I am still awaiting their answer, I decided to make the letter open to the public. Dear Anne-Marie. I have, on multiple occasions, performed donations and adoptions at Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust, having recently increased my level of adoptions to Silver. As such, I am always on the look-out for fund-raising opportunities for the Trust. About 6 months ago I became aware of the growing new global cryptographic electronic currency: Bitcoins. I have since been mining Bitcoins myself and using them in transactions in on-line shops. At the same time I had a thought that Bitcoins, unlike Visa-payments, are ideal for micro-transaction. I wrote then a short letter, suggesting Durrell create a Bitcoin wallet and start accepting donations in Bitcoins. The letter was posted through durrell.org feed-back form, but surprisingly never received any form of reply. Bitcoins are freely convertible to traditional currencies and have at the moment a conversion rate of approximately USD120 (€93) for 1 BTC. I have newly started my own Bitcoin-based fund-raising campaign here: http://stanislavs.org/bitcoin-fundraising-for-durrell-wildlife-conservation-trust/This is also published on the main Bitcoin-related Forum, Bitcointalk: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=167416Thus far 0.10403102 BTC are collected. The main problem for my private campaign, is trust. There are several other charity projects running, but they are supported by entities, who are well-known, whereas I can be considered a new and unknown entity on the scene. I am sure that if the Trust has their own, official, Bitcoin collection drive, it would attract many more micro-donations, which would amount to a substantial sum. As you might have noticed, it is possible to customise the beginning of the receiving address to make it more striking. The one I use for my drive is 1DodoExzsNPvVRXFrgkKw6E259VjfUW8Kh It is also possible to use QR code for the ease of making payments - there are smartphone applications, for example from BlockChain.info ( https://blockchain.info/) which make it easy to just scan the code on a phone and perform a payment. BlockChain.info also have ready-made solutions for creating custom donation buttons/interfaces on a web-site. As it was mentioned by Phinnaeus Gage on the forums, he runs a generic charity fund-raising, which is rather successful, Bitcoin 100: http://bitcoin100.org/ You can alternatively implement donation redirect to that generic charity and get payouts as fractions of the common amount. In the long run, however, I think it is best for the Wildlife Conservation Trust to have their own address and a dedicated page on the site, geared to donations in Bitcoins. The currency is growing in popularity, especially with the near-collapse of the traditional currencies, and Bitcoins collected and stored now will represent a substantial fortune in the near future, which would be used for what the Trust does best, saving species from extinction. Thank you for your attention. Kind regards, Stanislav Sokolov. A life-time member. At least you didn't make the mistake I did and mention InstaWallet in your initial email to them as I did to a handful of NPO's.

It's Avalon batch#2 and #3 Avalon is mining them
Could as easily be BFL... It cannot be BFL unless they are really good fakers. They can barely get the 5GH/s miners working let alone have 5,000 of them mining for them. I did not think someone like avalon would mine on hardware that is not rightfully their own as they seem to be very principled. What got me concerned about that was a Hero member's (kano) post basically accusing avalon of either running off with the money OR mining with their customer's units today. I do not know the history between avalon and Kano but kano seems to be pretty respected as a developer. Edit: and I will add the disturbing question about that 23 year old ... Where are the almost $2mil worth of hardware people have paid for and are still waiting for? (They've only shipped ~300 devices in more than 3 months ...) Are they mining on them (the least worrisome) or have they disappeared altogether (the most worrisome but least likely possibility)
I, too, am curious about Kano's post. Any insight, anybody?

Right now, you are the face (some might say ass) of BFL on these boards. If you actually want to protect and grow your business, then you should hire an real PR person. If you have no business to protect, well then I guess you might as well just rage on. Whoa... I see where the communication breakdown is. You think Bitcointalk is still relevant to mining hardware. Heh. How... quaint. I see where you get your nick, now. So, where is mining hardware discussed then? Tell me. Serious question. I'm not talking about mining hardware discussion. Google "Bitcoin mining" ... Bitcointalk is at the bottom of the third page. Which is also known as "Might as well not be listed" page. If someone does manage to find their way here, they quickly leave due to all the drama and trolls. Most people who still post here are so saturated with this community they don't realize how tiny and insulated it is. Bitcointalk posters encompass less than 10% of the current mining population, on a per person basis. Why do you think all the hardware vendors basically stay the hell away from here? Avalon makes a post and then leaves for weeks at a time. bASIC finally gave up and made their own forums before their implosion. Scams galore in the hardware section. The lack of any meaningful moderation pretty much chases everyone away and no serious business would participate in Bitcointalk. I do it on my own time and at my own whim. I don't speak officially for BFL here and BFL has no desire to participate in the Custom Hardware section unless it's properly moderated and cleaned up, which seems unlikely to happen. Seriously, it's the same people posting over and over for the vast majority of the posts. Those people already have their camps and no one is going to change their minds, so who cares? There's so much misinformation and BS posted here, it's impossible to find the signal in all the noise, so it's pointless to try to conduct business here. I may have to agree with this entire post by Josh. (seriously)

My order number was 1604.
How can this be true? BitPay was doing API tests and during their tests ISTR they created order numbers around 1630-1640. And the first real order numbers for SC's started around 1650-1660: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=89685.0So how can you be 1604? Typo? I, too, went to the same thread upon reading the order number, but opted to finish reading this thread before commenting to see if anybody else caught it. I see that somebody did. I now also see that the above has yet to be answered. Odd!

In the real world people can wait for many months for a house to be built with a deposit much larger than the cost of a BFL device, and they are perfectly happy with that, as long as the builder doesn't go bust and they get their house in the end.
In the real world, having just had a house built I know how this works. The builder has compulsory insurance should they default before the house is finished. The insurance company would pay and I would have an angry bank chasing the builder (the bank paid the money, not me). In the real world we all know if BFL goes belly up before a customer's order is shipped there's basically nothing that can be done. A BFL asset sale would maybe return 5c in every dollar. I also had a due date for the house and it was finished two months ahead of schedule. BFL has missed promised shipping dates since October 2012. Apologies for the quick aside: Back in the late 80's in Brentwood, TN, I was in the kitchen of Amy Grant's home watching her in tears while the new builder explained to her why 90% of the drywall needed to be removed from her almost finished home, originally built by an inept contractor. It was to get to the faulty wiring and plumbing, with the rest of the walls needing replaced after they jack up the house and repair the foundation. The reason for not tearing down the home and rebuilding it from scratch eludes me, but it was a magnificent home on a prime piece of property perched on a hill, with a panoramic view one would die for. The inept contractor was building 11 other homes at various stages of completion when he went belly-up. I picked up three more of these homes to do similar repairs, one of which was even more magnificent than Amy's beautiful home.
