941  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ARK direction on: November 08, 2017, 07:04:42 PM
it is up 18% already but still "cheap" IMHO.

I am holding a bag full. Wink
942  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Who is buying up all the cheap alt coins now ? on: November 08, 2017, 07:01:29 PM
I personally believe this is a great time to buy good alt coins. Price is way down as market has shifted to buying BTC. Some more than 50%.

What percentage of your crypto is in alts vs BTC ?

As of this moment, I no longer have BTC (except for some "crumbs" scattered in various exchanges).  I used it all to buy cheap alts.  Will cash out some after they rebound and hold some BTC then.

It is my chosen strategy vs the free Segwit2X coin.  Both will work but I believe this one will yield higher return.  Hope I am not mistaken.

Quoting myself...LOL

I guess I made the right call...portfolio is up 33% since this morning. Shocked
943  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Segwit2x got cancelled. What now for altcoins? on: November 08, 2017, 06:20:36 PM
My portfolio is up 25% already....

945  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should I Purchase Bitcoin or Wait for the Fork? on: November 08, 2017, 04:54:09 PM
I bought BTC recently...to buy cheap alts.  Done/re-invested, now I wait for the fork to be over.
946  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / ETH hard fork required to release frozen parity funds on: November 08, 2017, 02:56:11 PM

https://www.coindesk.com/ethereum-security-lead-hard-fork-required-to-release-frozen-parity-funds/

A resolution has yet to be found for yesterday's Parity hack which saw up to $150 million frozen across the ethereum platform.

However, speaking to CoinDesk, Martin Holst Swende, head of security for the Ethereum Foundation, confirmed that a hard fork of the ethereum blockchain will be required to free up the funds.

Holst Swende said:

"There's unfortunately no way to recreate the code without a hard fork. Any solution which makes the locked funds accessible requires a hard fork."

This means that ethereum would need to undergo an emergency upgrade, akin to The DAO blockchain rewrite that occurred last year, should it want users to be able to reclaim the lost millions.

A sudden upgrade of this type is a highly contentious issue, as it would not be limited to Parity alone, but would need to occur universally across the ethereum platform.

Yesterday, a smart contract developer claiming to be new to ethereum, "accidentally" deleted the code library that corresponds to the affected Parity wallets, rendering the software useless.

Parity developer Afri Schoedon told CoinDesk "there is no easy fix" for the exploit, and developers are currently working towards proposals to release the frozen funds.

Holst Swende said that, to date, the primary difficulties surrounding the fix "are more of a political than technical nature." The security lead has already proposed a potential fix, which would involve recreating the Parity code without the wallet exploit, he told CoinDesk, adding, "I'd like to see this spearheaded by the affected parties, not the foundation."

UK-based Parity Technologies, which develops the wallet, is separate to the Ethereum Foundation, the non-profit behind Geth, the most popular ethereum client.

Going forward, Holst Swende said the team will work towards "constructing one or several proposals," then work together as a community to select the best solution.

As the frozen funds cannot be removed, "there is no hard time limit," he continued, "so the governance process can in my opinion move along without rushing anything."

To date, developers are pointing to an ethereum improvement protocol (EIP) that could be deployed to solve the issue. Opened by ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin last year, the EIP, which allows the reclaiming of ether (ETH) from stuck accounts, would still require an unplanned hard fork in order to activate.

Speaking on Twitter this morning, Buterin publicly declined comment on the recent exploit, stating: "I am deliberately refraining from comment on wallet issues, except to express strong support for those working hard on writing simpler, safer wallet contracts or auditing and formally verifying security of existing ones."

Join GDAX,
transfer your money there via bank transfer (free transaction but takes a week),
WAIT for BTC to go down, buy your BTC via order book (NOT marketplace to avoid fees).

https://www.gdax.com/fees/BTC-USD

I am steering you away from fees because it will eat up your $30 fast.

==================

Keep it as BTC in GDAX, transferring it out to an exchange will be charged a fee.  Trading to an alt is also charged a fee.

Good luck!
948  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What will you invest in after the fork? on: November 08, 2017, 02:28:17 PM
I am pretty sure i will buy more and more boscoin on the market or otc trading using right escrow. Also i am still looking for very cheap exscudo. Boscoin the only coin i trust will goes up. Not much hype because whale accumulate it silently and you will see this coin will be in top 10marketcap in december. Which is has more then $1billion marketcap.

Based on your post, I looked and at that (3.18 BTC 24HR) volume, I assure you, no whale is even paying it any attention (yet at least).  Wink
949  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What New Coins that has Limited Coin Supply on: November 08, 2017, 02:09:44 PM
Crypto relies on adoption and acceptance by the populace...if there is only 100,000 coins available, only a few can have it.  Yes, you can own a fraction BUT how many do you think will be content holding less than one coin (short of it being BTC which is worth $8,000 soon)Huh

To be noticed, you need to be in the top 200 with decent 24hr volume.  To attain that, you need a good coin quantity...I think the sweet spot is around from 15 million to 1.5 billion.  Anything less or more has a diminishing effect to the coin.

You can price 42 coins at $1 million each and still not make it to top 100 today...in the end it is not sustainable and likely price will fall down to nothing.  Law of supply and demand works a different way in this case.  Rarity is not a good thing (in crypto).

Good luck!
950  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What will you invest in after the fork? on: November 07, 2017, 04:43:02 PM
Bitcoin if it drops in the 5000 range.

This!!!  ^ ^ ^  Smiley

I just finished my alt shopping...some of them will hopefully be converted to BTC after the fork once they bounced back up.

I believe, anyone planning on shopping for alts after the fork need to review their strategy.

If they are after the fork coin (S2X) it is a risk to unload right away since we don't know which will be the king.  I know BTC is king but...this time, there is that small chance that the fork may win.  Imagine the horror if you sold it cheap... Shocked and you are left with the "alt".
951  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Why is this so cheap? on: November 07, 2017, 02:02:58 PM
Sometimes the one that are just being silent and not being hype are the one who are making a silent victory. Yeah it's kinda intriguing why this project just gathered a few interest when this one had a great potential. Maybe the least you can do is to trust your guts as well as their tokens.

Ark was one of mine...holding from march and turned a 135€ investment into 1600€...just research good in upcoming projects...Cardano is a good one...i invested also arround 200€...i put small chances on them...spread risk or end up backholding a shitcoin
I hold ARK & NEO but both have their own fan club. Wink

I recently bought lots of RPX and hope it doesn't end up a shitcoin LOL  We should know before the year ends.  Honestly, I am confident and not worried at all but there is always that small percentage things can go south (as with anything in cryptoworld).
952  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoin Portfolio/Following Coins For Long Term on: November 07, 2017, 06:10:28 AM
Feel free to delete this...

I own about 14+ coins most of the time (it varies) and it is odd that I never had any of your coins.  We definitely have different parameters for our "ideal" coins. Cheesy

954  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What happened to CHAINLINK? on: November 06, 2017, 11:08:12 PM
Same as most...just a victim of Segwit2X.  Just wait 2 weeks, it should bounce back fast.
955  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: GAS investment on: November 06, 2017, 05:17:33 PM
Forgive me if this is a stupid question, but I’m really not an expert on NEO.

Anyway, GAS is just the transaction payment for NEO contracts (similar to gas on eth), right? If that is the case I don’t know why you wouldn’t just buy NEO; but I have a feeling I’m not getting something.

As stated on the link above...rarity might send the value through the roof...assuming NEO is used more in the future as a platform.  All the transaction will require GAS and it being too slow to generate may create an insane demand.

It is all speculation (as with everything in the cryptoworld)  Smiley
956  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Kin ICO from Kik on: November 06, 2017, 03:43:22 PM
I think KIN won't fall very much from here. Every time it drops 5% new players enter the market who now believe it's a bargain and are looking at long term profits.

KIN can perform well but it's gonna take them a few more months before will be listed on important exchanges

Yep, hard for anything worth less than one Satoshi to go further down...that is rock bottom!!! LOL

BEWARE, anything in that price range is a major red flag---that area is reserved for the stinkiest of the shit coins.  Just saying.

One that can save the token is to do a massive burn...
957  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Which is the best anonymous coin to buy for long term? on: November 06, 2017, 03:31:31 PM
For anon, I think ZEN is the best...couple that with the current price and it is IMHO the best investment out of this  lot. Cheesy
958  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: GAS investment on: November 06, 2017, 03:25:37 PM
I am invested in both GAS and NEO.

The only thing holding these two back is the Chinese government...once they unleash these, I think they will sky rocket.

There is a Palm Beach Confidential issue a few months back dedicated to GAS actually and how it might become more valuable than NEO. It is a lengthy and well thought/written article. Look it up.
959  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is LISK underrated? on: November 06, 2017, 03:16:25 PM
"double easily" I would be careful with these words. Lisk rhymes with risk. Joke aside, I am not convinced.
The demand for Lisk has significantly increased last 12 months, but also decreased since August this year:
Lots of alts suffered due to the numerous BTC forks.  Some lost 70% the past 2 months.

LSK was about $7.95 on early September and trading at around $4.50 right now with $7.5million volume... I'd stand by my prediction.  Also LISK have recent "activity" that can give it an extra push after the fork.

But yes, nothing is definite, we can only project and hope for the best.  That is why I also said "likely" on my original statement.

For the record I don't own LSK because my money is on other alts that I believe will give me better returns.
960  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: I just sold my substratum coins on: November 06, 2017, 02:45:18 PM
Why ask now (or again) after you've already sold?

If you do not know about it...why did you buy in the first place?  There must be a reason.

If I am you, I'd take the proceeds and re-invest it to a coin/token I know/trust...while they are still cheap (unless you are after Segwit2x free coin).

Good luck!

because  there are so many  decentralized internet competitors like siacoin, shift.. internxt...    it's difficult to  pick the winner...  a  good analysis and help  can make more   realistic to pick the winner, that's why  I ask for help

decentralized hosting is a huge  billion  market.  Many happy  future guys, if you pick the right one mong the decentralized internet projects

This is true for a lot of coins and at the end of the day, hundreds might share their thoughts and a few might get it right...problem is, you won't know who offered you golden advise vs trash.  Those who got it right are likely not sure themselves (also just guessing).

This is the problem with internet...too much "noise" too hard to discern good from bad.  That is why the wisest advise is still DYOR.

Good luck!
