941  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Vega 56 x 3 - Miner Freeze at start !! PLEASE HELP on: January 24, 2018, 04:54:40 PM
I had to reduce the intensity on the card that is feeding video.  Did you do that?

You won't know until you get it.
943  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Nicehash like programs on: January 24, 2018, 04:32:38 PM
Not sure if it matters with these but I'm mostly mining with 1070tis. Thanks for the suggestions already.

It's not that it doesn't matter.  There literally just isn't a piece of software with the same ease of use as NH.  Like I said, you can opt to mine singles (which isn't difficult by any means), but the software you use is dependent on the coin you choose to mine.

What are current Profit per day on these things? Diff has already doubled.

Vosk did a Youtube video on his that he received yesterday and said $480USD.  I'm curious to see a daily breakdown of profit over the next week or two.
BTW Gotminer....Mark Baum quotes rule. Best movie ever.

Lol ... Yeah I noticed your forum username a month or so ago.  That movie is one awesome quote after another.  Love it!
945  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining ban in China?! Redistribution of mining power? on: January 24, 2018, 02:48:00 PM
Maybe reputable wasn't the correct word to use.  Most media outlets have some sort of agenda, in my opinion ... But Coindesk, Bitcoin.com news ... Join Telegram groups ... Crypto Twitter ... Listen to Podcasts.  There is a variety of ways to keep up with the news, before mass media starts reporting it.
946  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GPU mining will die in 2018! on: January 24, 2018, 02:32:46 PM
Metroid you worry too much.  What a debby downer.

Chill bro

Sometimes these people are debbie downers.. sometimes they're paid shrills to discourage others from participating in global shifts of wealth. Hard to tell, but easy to not care.

It's easy not to care.  I just hope he doesn't hurt himself.  People that are that depressed and psychotic do crazy things.
947  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining ban in China?! Redistribution of mining power? on: January 24, 2018, 02:30:13 PM
It doesn't look like they're cracking down on mining... there's no visible or tangible signs yet. Rumours around Bitmain setting up data centers in Europe and Canada have emerged, but nothing tangible.
The chinese website Alibaba.com is still listing miners for sale, so I'd take any news you read with a pinch of salt
check https://www.alibaba.com/showroom/s9-antminer.html
Yeah, fair point. It is just strange that many big media sources as Bloomberg and CNN published some articles.
but don't u think that the last decrase in BTC value could be caused by these news ?

Get your news from reputable media outlets that are ran by people who actually have real life experience in crypto.  Bloomberg, CNN, MSNBC seem to copy week old news and toss it out there.

This is becoming stupid anyway you look at or into, something will happen this year, nvidia or amd could kill gpu mining if they want, asics manufactures can kill gpu mining anytime. People could kill gpu mining with stupidity, there are many ways gpu mining can be killed this year. Trust me I'm worried and you should do.

Ok, dad.  Good talk.  Yeah this thread is becoming stupid, because you keep posting non-sense without anything to back it up.  And then you start spinning your wheels again.  And then you cry and say something else that doesn't make sense.

I'll begin worrying when there is a legit reason to worry about my own mining farm and right now, there is no reason.  I don't give a fuck what an idiot who buys a overpriced gpu is doing.  That's his bad judgement and lose in the end, if it doesn't work out.

Yep Nvidia and AMD could kill mining this year ... If they both go out of business.  Do you think they will just shut their doors, because they have an opinion on a specific large group of people who are buying their products?  NOPE!  Shareholders won't allow that.  Do you think the board of directors at Nvidia gives a fuck where the money is coming from?  They don't.  They care that it is flowing in and that is their only concern.  Do you know anything about how big business works?  NOPE ... You don't.  It's just you and your thoughts in your padded room with your tin foil hat spewing little bits of garbage that most people will never see.

I honestly do feel sorry for you.  Your life must be total shit.  But you shouldn't give up.  Keep on fighting the good fight.  I've had family members go through the same sort of medial conditions that you are probably going through.  If you are strong enough, you won't hurt yourself.  Remember ... There is help out there.  You are not alone, Metroid.  In case you need it, here's the number for the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline in the United States ... 1-800-273-8255.  If you are outside of the USA, all you have to do is google it.  We care about you, buddy.

You're more full of it than the OP, Nvidia just contacted every store on the planet and told them not to sell GPUs to miners. So yes nvidia does care where the money comes from. With Jews you always lose.

So you're saying that every member of their board of directors is Jewish?  Lol ... Maybe so, I don't have that information.  Regardless ... Let's say they are all Jews for the hell of it.  I know what Nvidia has asked of retailers, which is fine.  Most of them did started limiting to 2-3 units per order over a month ago and that's about as far as it's going to go.  That is a request that retailers don't have to follow and there isn't a next step in the process.  You can't tell someone they can't buy something, just because of what they want to use it for ... Reason being, you have no way of knowing what they are going to use it for for begin with.

951  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GPU mining will die in 2018! on: January 24, 2018, 03:42:09 AM
Why are we even talking about ETH?  You said GPU mining will die in 2018.  GPU mining as a whole isn't dependent on ETH being minable via GPU.  I mean seriously ... Even if ETH difficulity shoots through the roof or if they make a 100% transformation to POS.  Who gives a flying fuck?  You think you see a bigger picture, but you are not even aware of all of the variables.  For a minute there, you were sounding half way sane and now you're just back to your old self again.  You don't make much sense in what you spout out, because your broad statements are not backed by any real legitimacy.

If you want to say mining ETH via gpu is going to die in 2018, I would say you might have an arguement there, but your statements are so weird and broad without backing that no one around here will ever respect your opinions.  Just so you know.
952  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: I think my switched PDU just killed two PSU's on a rig on: January 24, 2018, 02:39:33 AM
I'm not sure how this has happened, but both PSU's are working again ... Just not together with the splitter.  I've tested them individually and both are working fine now.  I ordered some other splitters, so hopefully that's all I have to replace.  I'm using the same psu splitter in three other 6gpu rigs, but I really don't want to take another rig down just to test it.

I thought for sure I fried something, because I thought both psu's needed to be started up at the same time.  At some point I thought I read that it posed a threat to your board, if they were not powered on at the same time.
953  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: I think my switched PDU just killed two PSU's on a rig on: January 24, 2018, 01:57:48 AM
Yeah the board is fine with another psu.
954  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: I think my switched PDU just killed two PSU's on a rig on: January 24, 2018, 01:41:28 AM
I'm thinking that maybe I should be using something like this to plug two PSU's into one PDU outlet .... Thoughts?

955  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / I think my switched PDU just killed two PSU's on a rig on: January 24, 2018, 01:31:16 AM
I think I screwed up big time.  I bought a switched PDU, so I could restart miners from work, when they hang on occassion.  I'm using two psu's per miner with a dual psu adapter to connect them to the board like the one below ...

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074DQJY8K/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I went to test it out by shutting down two of the outlets on the pdu that one of the miners was connected to.  When I went to turn both of those pdu outlets back on, nothing came on.  I took that miner off of the switched pdu and plugged it in elsewhere.  Still nothing.  So I swapped the board ... Still won't power on.

Is it possible that both pdu outlets didn't power back on at the exact same time and that's what caused this?

956  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: help with transferring to wallet on: January 23, 2018, 09:34:33 PM
What coin you're mining determines the wallet or wallets you'll be using.  The pool payouts will come in the currency that you are mining, which isn't going to be btc, if you are gpu mining.

right now I'm using ahash which auto converts to btc. I input my gdax btc address but from what I understand it keeps changing. So do I need to keep changing my wallet address in the batch file?

No way would I do that unless you want to lose everything that you mine.  I personally don't recommend mining directly to an exchange.  Mine to a wallet that you control the private key to.

But lets just say you're mining zec ... Well how are you going to send zec to coinbase or gdax?  You're not, because they don't have zec wallets.  If you tell a zec pool to send your payouts to a gdax btc address, then you'll basically be wasting your time and you'll never see the currency.  You can't send anything other than btc to a btc address.

So no ... Do not put a btc address in the batch file of a zec miner that is pointed at a zec pool.  They'll end up sending zec to a btc address and then you're fucked.

If you're not interested in mining singles, there really isn't anything better than using NH.  If you're interested in mining singles, the software you use will depend on the coin that you decide to mine.

Mining is not profitable any more. There are lot of big players involved with high performance machine which we can't afford.

Lol.  Maybe YOU can't afford it.

My AMD rig is a Vega 56 rig, so I don't mine ETH with it.  I don't have 570/580's.
