Hi,

I know it's not the good place but here it's like my home, and nobody answers eslewhere. All wallet work the same so one question :

What happen if a transaction got 0 confirmation :
Status: 0/unconfirmed
Date: 10/03/2014 23:58
To: fYHBV59dpPx1LBCWsVuwrYwVcGvDBmHTwS
Debit: -999.999 FAC
Transaction fee: -0.001 FAC
Net amount: -1000.00 FAC
Transaction ID: 94a954a634deeb6dd0b84d162101624b1a655bee27146d06bad475bd6b7e1617

This was sent 10 days ago....

The 1000 FAC leaves the sender wallet and never arrive in receiver wallet... Where are the coins? In the cosmos?
They shouldn't returns in the sender wallet?

All this to buy more DRK  Roll Eyes

Could the receiving wallet be on a wrong blockchain?

Well really don't know..
I had 10 wallet they give me 1000 FairCoin on each for free.
I sent all in the firt address, only 1 transaction succeed to reach the fisrt, all other are like this one 0 confirmation
So for the moment I loose 8000 FAC (~20 DRK for the moment)...

Well I'll not complain they were free but 20 DRK more would be great  Cry

Backup your wallet, close it, then make yet another copy of your wallet.dat file.  then remove everything except the wallet.dat file in the /appdata/etc.... or wherever your FAC folder is, and re-sync.  I suspect that will take care of the problem?

Why is coinbase taking more than 4 business days to release the bitcoin I bought last Saturday?  They say on their website, it will take 3 - 4 business days, then tell you it'll clear by the end of 5 business days, but last time it did come through on day 4, so I thought I could ignore that today, and yet, it's still not cleared??/

Hum, still a ways from me, but I think my has shows up well.  It seems P2Pool has more issue with distance than a regular pool?

Tried to buy all the cheap Darkcoin on Cryptsy... something is seriously wrong there.

had same problem.

What happened?

Sell amounts are lesser than the buys.. looks broken.

Oh!  Did your buys go through?

Here in Argentina there is a "blackmarket" in our peso!
There is an official conversion rate set by govt, but it is artificial and only tourists use that rate Smiley
Actual market rates fluctuate, anywhere from 50% to 70% more pesos per USD, pretty much everybody uses the unofficial "cambios" to exchange at market prices. They are everywhere.

Here, USD is controlled like it is an illegal substance! I guess that makes us all criminals here.

James

Aren't governments wonderful?  LOL.

And you know the last people to follow those rules would be government officials, what a crock of sh*t

we are growing, come and help mine darkcoin, and get a chance of winning the lottery pool.

once a week 50% of the fees, will be drawn,
to one lucky winner... is it your turn next?

Pool Pays Witdrawal fee: 0.0
Please spread your hashing power, we dont want 1 pool to have >50%

DDOS Protected pool

Coinmine.pl is sneaking towards 50% again, please spread your hashing power

source: http://darkcoin.mine.nu/poolhash.html

I'm a seriously small miner.  Yet, I'm getting steady payments on Lotterymining.  They're super steady, haven't had any downtime, I'm in western USA, and I believe CHAOSiTEC's server is either in Sweeden or UK or somewhere in northern Europe, but I still get my hash rate through!

So I really don't understand why Coinmine.pl is attracting everyone?  join a P2pool if you want a constant flow of income, or one of the other pools.  They're big enough to give a good daily payment (and the payments are larger in a smaller pool, it all evens out the same!)

So yah, please spread your hash rate around to keep the coin safe.  Some articles I've read say no pool should go over 33%, so really, that should be the goal.

Thanks to those who have spread their hash Smiley

Why would we add messages to a crypto coin? Isn't bitmessage the perfect option for those who wish to send private messages?

I think the idea was to send a message along with a payment, so it might be the delivery address, a purchase order number, or some kind of reference such as, "you spend this all before next month kid, you ain't gonna eat!"
949  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin | No Premine | DGW | ASIC Resistant on: March 20, 2014, 03:12:58 AM
If I'm not mistaken the feature regarding encrypted messages over the network was discussed in the early days of bitcoin development (not in the "adding noise to darksend" context). I do not remember what was the reason for not implementing it though. Priorities? Some kind of problem like bloating? It'd be interesting if some old-timer remembers what happened and why that feature got "stuck".

It didn't really get stuck, someone brought up the idea, everyone liked it, but at the time we wanted to concentrate on what was to become darksend.  The other things that have been done for the coin besides, came from immediate need (rework of the rewards(was too harsh), KGW then DGW).  Aside from those, the concentration has always been to get Darksend out of Beta and into DarkCoin ASAP while making sure it's completely solid.

We have Evan for at least 2 years, as he's dedicated 100% of his time for the next two years, LOL, and we'll hold him to it Wink  So I'm sure, with the speed and skill he brings to this coin, we'll have all kinds of amazing features by the time he has finished!

Oh, sorry, I see you were talking about bitcoin!  Nevermind, LOL

It's not any less trackable to 'the same' user if the change goes to a throw away address to original wallet or secondary wallet, plus that just complicates things to where it isn't usable.
Whenever a change address from a darksend is used in a transaction with an address existing before the darksend there could potentially be a privacy breach. In the current implamentation, the wallet constructs transactions from any of the addresses it has control over, so this could happen on any transaction if the wallet keeps its own change. By sending the change to a completely different wallet, there is no chance for those addresses to get mixed together.

I don't see why this would be necessary as the change is returned with a stealth address?
951  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin | No Premine | DGW | ASIC Resistant on: March 19, 2014, 04:57:24 PM

Yes these are valid points to consider. But, instead of sitting back and waiting for merchants to accept Darkcoin we should bring Darkcoin to them. We can do this very easily if someone has experience coding and is willing to put in a little work.

1. We can create a wordpress Darkcoin plugin for Woocommerce or Commerce Wordpress themed checkouts. (Similar to what Bitcoin has). If this existed it would drive a lot of merchants to use Darkcoin.

2. We can create a stand-alone API payment plugin for standard merchant sites that do not use Wordpress or Woocommerce.

Does anyone have experience doing this kind of stuff that would want to take this on? Maybe there can be a bounty set for this by the person who controls the promotion fund.

Great idea.  Aside from cheerleading, I'm pretty much dead weight to this community, LOL, but wish I could do this!  Perhaps this is what LimLims should replace the "new mining pool" bounty with?

Also, someone slap me if I'm way off base here, but if the difficulty keeps going up, doesn't that imply that more people are mining it, increasing the net hash rate? That hardly sounds like spiraling into oblivion.

PROFITABILITY is going into oblivion.

which is much better when it is stable

look at the chart I posted. it has been going down since day 1. where is the stability on that chart. Look at the god damn image.

http://postimg.org/image/kylsqtkm1

probably a good long term investment but horrible for daily miner-dumpers like me.

That's such a warped zoomed in section of an oddly spread out chart.  If you look at a more normal chart, like this one, over time, yes there has been a downward trend, but it's not a big one in the scheme of things, and its pretty darn flat after the C-cex incident:

https://coinmarketcap.com/drk_30.html

So, whatever.  To me it shows incredible stability compared to most others:

Maxcoin: https://coinmarketcap.com/max_30.html

AuroraCoin: https://coinmarketcap.com/btc_30.html

Peercoin: https://coinmarketcap.com/ppc_30.html

DogeCoin: https://coinmarketcap.com/doge_30.html

Even Bitcoin has been more volatile, by a lot!  https://coinmarketcap.com/btc_30.html

Hell, we're the only stable coin out there!  and practically brand new!

After much thought....I decided not to buy one of these and instead focus on Darkcoin mining. But it is very tempting.

EDIT - this summer will be dominated by ASICs for scrypt. Expect more GPU miners on Darkcoin.

Actually, that should really benefit us, though the difficulty will rise exponentially, it will really distribute the coin!
954  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin | No Premine | DGW | ASIC Resistant on: March 19, 2014, 04:39:57 PM

Id also tip on temps or voltage. I got a i5 2500K at 4600mhz with an alpenföhn cooler running at 70-80 degrees, the case is very well cooled.
On the otehr hand, why not get a linux distro and try it there? Dualboot is installed in like 15 minutes, if its not working there you know its the cpu.

I want an alpenföhn cooler!  Just for the name!

(sorry, my silly side coming out again, that sounds so silly to the ear, rofl, like Farfegnugen, LOL. (I'm first generation German, no offence, really aber es ist lustig)

BTW, the DarkCoin clone, Hirocoin...... a lot of people over there are excited by the fact that it uses X11, and its low power usage.

Clearly a big selling point over here also, but they seem to be doing a good job at marketing the X11.  I see X11 written around the place a lot more than here.  Just a thought Smiley... As it seems that X11 is getting a decent amount of attention now.

I'm the developer of Hirocoin and I want to help position X11 as the next home of GPU miners. I remember what the GPU miners moving from SHA-256 to Scrypt did for Scrypt based coins like Litecoin. There will come a point where Scrypt ASICs are common and GPU miners will need to move on. Making X11 the standard to move to will be huge news for Darkcoin and Hirocoin. Plus it will bring better tools for our coins.

By the way, Hirocoin is more of a Litecoin clone that uses X11. Darkcoin offers anonymity and unique difficulty handling where Hirocoin is your conventional offering but done well. Check GitHub for the thorough work that went into it.

Launching Hirocoin helps solidify X11 place in crypto. If Darkcoin is the sole user of X11 it will not get the tractions it needs. Darkcoin is successful and I plan to make Hirocoin successful to, this will bring more attention to X11 and more coins using this solution. Now is the time to push  Evan's X11 to secure long term success for Darkcoin.

I don't understand why X-11 has to be "solidified"?
957  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin | No Premine | DGW | ASIC Resistant on: March 19, 2014, 04:27:08 PM
guys can i mine cpu and gpu on the same pc??? have 280x gigabyte and i5 ..

is it profitable to mine with cpu???
thnx

Yes, I mine with my 2* HD7950 and i7-4820K (487 kh/s).

For the CPU check : http://wiki.darkcoin.fr/index.php?title=Installer_Minage_CPU_Windows

I was trying to mine with my cpu as well as gpu but as soon as I started my cpu my miner crashed so I tryed another coin with only cpu but still crashed would this be something to do with my drivers Huh

Sounds more like something went wrong with compiling the code, or more likely, choosing the wrong version?  cpuminer1.2c and cpuminer-1.3-avx-aes are the choices, and the later one is optimized for whatever avx-aes is, lol.
958  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin | No Premine | DGW | ASIC Resistant on: March 19, 2014, 04:23:59 PM
interesting project

I do not know if it is planned but a distributed/decentralized marketplace on top of the protocol would be a killer app
+1
...and then we will not have to put our trust in exchanges, and pay for their lack of security measures as we had with c-cex and poloniex.

This would have to be a huge group effort with other coins, or perhaps a whole new wallet type that people 'mine' for fees, but yes, a wonderful idea and definitely asked before.  If Evan comes out with a list of future things to work  on, and it's missing, it needs to be brought back up Smiley

I just started a thread on the subject at the darkcointalk forum:
https://www.darkcointalk.org/threads/list-of-future-development-ideas.89/

Please add any other ideas or comment Smiley

We are doing serious business here. Evan & co are creating a long term viable anon currency.

Most of us are not interested in short term speculation issues

Exactly, and the low prices are really good for the coin, because as people find out about it, it is far from too late to "get in on it" as long as your interests are to see it to success and not to pump and dump.  I guess nobody here has been successful at manipulating this coin, though lord knows people have tried!  To the moon!  LOL.  We just sit here going, yup, ok, go back to your Legos dear Smiley

darkcoin price chart is going down steadily to oblivion. this coin is not only bad for miners ( low profitability) its also horrible for investors.

http://postimg.org/image/kylsqtkm1

what is even MORE retarded is its 400+ difficulty.

Difficulty compared to scrypt is around 130, price is rather stable compared to any other altcoin especially looking at those useless clones and premined shitcoins

It's funny how people forget that the primary goal is to create a currency, which is much better when it is stable.... Would you want to pay 1 BTC for a cup of coffee at Starbucks today?

Also, someone slap me if I'm way off base here, but if the difficulty keeps going up, doesn't that imply that more people are mining it, increasing the net hash rate? That hardly sounds like spiraling into oblivion.

You are correct sir.
