i don't OC my GPUs, ever, i never ever had a GPU died on me,  GPUs here are insanely expensive (twice the price you guys pay in the US ) also there is no RMA service here, if you fuck up the card, you have to pay 150 dollars to send the card to the US and back, no freaking way Smiley.

Second hand market must be doing well there?
942  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Elevating 295X2 on: November 05, 2016, 02:25:27 PM
I have an AMD R9 295X2. Is there more than just one type of this card? This was a so called "enthusiast's card" So I doubt if there were other manufacturers.

I will try to use the card without powering the riser as you mentioned, although on a separate thread I heard a different answer. Would it be possible for you to send me a picture / ipload it somewhere of the same.
It could be very well the case that we are having different types of risers. One you have must be having an additional USB port just to supply power to the riser.

Thanks.

They are all reference cards, only difference is sticker and bios made by sticker owner. At least two different types of memory chips are used but stock bios is universal.

I am using powered risers with them, just to be on safe side. Watch out, that card can burn everything if you let it run unleashed without proper cooling.

In case you missed it, Claymores Zcash is out. Looking at 50sols on a 470. Haven't found a 480.

Are people so excited about the Claymore Zcash miner because it supports Windows? My SILENTARMY Zcash miner is as fast as (if not a hair faster) than Claymore. And open source. And zero dev fee.

Maybe I should prioritize Windows support higher?

Underclocking and undervolting, that's the difference, otherwise I would still use your miner. It is really fast and stable.

If I knew I would be mining zec tomorrow I would make custom bioses for zecmining for every amd gpu I have and use your miner. But I don't. That's why I have to stick with Claymore now. Finding the power/ hash sweetspot for different algos is so much easier in windows (afterburner etc).

That 20/80 rule still works. 20% of miners owns 80% of the hashrate, and they are using mostly linux.
944  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Elevating 295X2 on: November 04, 2016, 07:40:59 PM
My 295x2's take only 10watts from pcie slot, even unpowered riser is enough for them. I don't know if your card is different.
945  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: zec mining stresses rigs differently than eth on: November 04, 2016, 12:10:08 AM
I thought my riser had bad connections. I can use a 16x-1x and with ETH I can add another 1x-1x to make the extension long enough so I can put cards well apart, but with ZEC, miner complains about the and gives 0S/s  Shocked

I had one case where card with riser did 33% less that identical card sitting in a slot without riser. You can see more of these reports in zec forums.

It is easy to test, try only one gpu without riser @x16 slot. Remove/ disable everything that could split/ use pcie lanes.

Are we chipset/ cpu pcie lane limited here?

946  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: zec mining stresses rigs differently than eth on: November 03, 2016, 11:55:06 PM
zcash mining (at least with the silentarmy kernel) transfers much more data over the PCI-e bus than eth does, and almost all ribbon risers fall well short of complying with PCI-e bus signal integrity design requirements.

I can confirm this. One gtx970 at PCIe x16 slot alone without riser can consume up to 28% of that slots bandwith (8GT?) when mining zec.

If I had to guess, this is the reason for this whole windows/ linux/ amd/ nvidia/ sse2/ avx/ avx2/ i5/ i7/ sols lottery.

947  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Genoil's ZEC miner: AMD ZCash miner for Windows - 0.5 on: November 03, 2016, 07:49:54 PM
Binaries only, sorry.

So until the big boys are ready with their 100Sol/s cannons, you can mine some ZEC with this piece of shit. Highly unstable but pretty fast thanks to @mrb's SilentArmy kernels. yay

I like this piece of shit and the selling speech. Will tip when this rally ends.

Coinmine did the trick for me, running 24h there with 0.4, 0.5 and 0.6 without problems. It is cool and quiet here, they are waiting for solcannons.

Genoil, thanks again, my 2 cents:

948  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v7.3 (Windows/Linux) on: November 03, 2016, 05:44:13 PM
I own 15 pcs of 5*R9 390x and 5*480x rigs.Installed V7.3 version and mining ether solo.

3 days ago I asked for a static IP from my telecom operator.

Yestereday, my rigs quited mining.I changed my pool (from coinotron to coinmine.pl).My static ip rigs gave up mining however my internet connection is fast and seems stable.

Do you experience such a problem?I connect from Serbia to Europe servers. The room is a well cooled room, with low humidity, electricity understructure is a 3 phase and grounded. So the temperature and power are eliminated among the possible causes.

You really are mining ethereum NOW? Cool.

Another ETH solominer
949  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CCminer(SP-MOD) Modded NVIDIA Maxwell / Pascal kernels. on: November 03, 2016, 05:10:31 PM
Looks like mining at a pool is paying 30% more then nicehash.  whattomine.com

Its been like that since the pools got their shit sorted out, couple hours after release.  In general Nicehash pays shit for mining hash as it's dominated by bots that auto adjust the price to push it down as low as possible. Legit renters can't actually purchase hashing power without using fixed rates.

I sometimes open fixed buy orders if I think mining profitability on that algo might go up. If it happens I refill, if not I just cancel that order and loose some satoshis.

There have been some periods where NH has been paying better than mining ZEC if you count your earnings in BTC.

What happens to ZEC price if BTC dives now? Yes I know so OT but that's what this thread has been all about lately.

PS. I like djm ))
950  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CCminer(SP-MOD) Modded NVIDIA Maxwell / Pascal kernels. on: November 03, 2016, 11:28:23 AM
Someone is selling or giving out a miner somewhere with really good speed increases, net hashrate doubled in a day.

who? what is the speed we are talking about?

Yet another couple of Th (~80000 gpu) moved from dagger to equihash. Also loads of hashing power left some other projects.

ETH+ETC nethash is down from ~8Th to ~4.5Th.

Average card 25MH = 25 sol/s

Just like bensam and adaseb said, at some point ETH is going to meet ZEC when speaking about mining profitability. Faster miners are not going to change that fact or date, botnets and server farms most propably leave when 100sol/s gpu miners start popping up.

For who ask for CUDA linux support:

https://forum.z.cash/t/cuda-equihash-miner-with-devfee/6492/28

Reported 50 S/s on a 1070...

Sadly, i don't have linux to test

crashes for me (ubuntu 16.04).

970 & lubuntu 14.04 works but I am only getting 18sols out of it. Nheqminer does 23 on that same rig with W7.
952  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CCminer(SP-MOD) Modded NVIDIA Maxwell / Pascal kernels. on: November 01, 2016, 05:35:19 PM
After claymore releases his zecminer nvidia owners have only two options left:

1) Beg for djm to release his miner no matter how much it costs.
2) Mine something else.

Is it bitcointalk slow?  takes 5 minutes to post.

ZCASH BASH TRAFFIC--

Zcash wallets are not the only thing affected by the network traffic.  It is just too much.

And, hey, after resetting my overclock, I get 40 sols/s on my Win 7 box with NHeqminer.  The Linux miners are junk, though.  I hope Wolf0 pulls out the rabbit for the hat trick.  Or, sp_ corks it good with CCminer.       --scryptr

It's not the normal traffic. Any time something new comes out followed by a lot of money the DDoS's are shortly there after. If you can deny info you can deny profits and take a bigger piece for yourself. Shenanigans from china.

but looks like you're broken hard now
new djm34 miner coming soon Wink current speed around 110sol/sec on 1070 Cheesy
Grin

110 is nice. I hope he release it.
thinking of doing a crowd funding as usual...
new current speed 133sol/sec (yeah it changes fast Smiley still highly unoptimized

And how much to keep it private? Wink

I would sell it when it has some value. Wait for a couple of weeks and no one is willing to pay a dime for 133sol/ sec.
955  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CCminer(SP-MOD) Modded NVIDIA Maxwell / Pascal kernels. on: October 28, 2016, 10:59:43 PM

Almost all cryptos start out strong and then die out, not sure why anyone would think ZEC would be any different. We'll see where it sits over the next couple of days after the dust settles.

supply/ demand is all that matters.

Epsylon's thought's about z talk?  Wink

You were close to payout?

address.anything, not working, already tried that

Works for me. Have you tried usa server?
959  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CCminer(SP-MOD) Modded NVIDIA Maxwell / Pascal kernels. on: October 28, 2016, 08:43:32 PM
Thx  I'm trying  nicehash then going to a pool now to get started... but I'm using this bat file and it just closes even without the -l usa.

nheqminer.exe  -o stratum+tcp://equihash.usa.nicehash.com:3357    -u mywallet  -p x  -cd 0  -t 0  -l usa

nicehash miner 0.2a

use miner 0.3a

how to add worker in that pool you mentioned before? it say worker not authorized if i try with two rig

Your addy.couldbeanything

Looks like this weekend is going to be very profitable. Harvesting with around 10000 sols:)

Hope to earn 20 btc

6x 1070 is mining at 32mhash each with 650watt in the wall.
6x 1060 3gb is mining ar 23mhash each with 45 watt per card

Nice harvester there. I am so sad all harvesters are dumping this. It is already down to 27.

dh nethash stays the same.
