As for Bitcoin debit cards. They are in the works by several different people.
Where can I see the progress of such works? I have not followed recently but I believe BitInstant was working on one and Bitcoin-Central said that since they are teamed with a payment processor they would be able to eventually get one out. There was someone else in the Project Development working on a Bitcoin payment processor but that has since gone away. And there is OKPay.

I would be interested in a bitcoin -> EagleCash card if it were ever to be possible.

This is true, you are trusting every merchant that you give your credit card to to not steal from you.
I had a card swiper and I actually used my computer to take care of the transaction. It showed the numbers I needed and everything.
It would have been very easy to go in any day or night and just punch in more charges for anyone's credit card purchase.
However, they would get a statement saying "Heidi Jo's Boutique: $56.23, $200, $200, $500, $500, ...".
It would not be very difficult to figure out that I was stealing and track me down to get the money back and put me in jail.

I've read similar discussions many times
Really? Discussions on Marsian bitcoins has already been discussed many times?

which are forced by the laws of physics to sell.
What? Please explain this gem. Gravity perhaps? Too many bitcoins in your wallet and it becomes too heavy to move?

Please make this on bets of bitcoin. I will bet against this.
It is up on bets of bitcoin now. Though they only accept bitcoins. Do you have any?

If you have to ask, yes dump it all ASAP.
I agree, you may want to try penny stocks or just go to Vegas. If you are in the market for buying some dollars with your bitcoins, then by all means do so (is there some new enhancement I am not aware of?).

Are we talking accumulatively?
The bet, which is still awaiting approval, is: 1 Bitcoin will be worth at least $10,000 by 12/31/2016 Success of this bet will occur if 1 Bitcoin is valued at $10,000 or more on one of the largest exchanges of the time (based upon top 4 trading volumes/day). The $10,000 is in Federal Reserve Notes (US dollars).

ping times back to earth are gonna vary between 6 and 40 minutes, which should make for some interesting tcp connections.
space is big.
This is considering that we use today's technology. The technology of the future provides great compression and a gravitational messaging infrastructure which pulls the to endpoints together such that the space left to communicate is a mere meters in distance. This will allow for faster times than you see using the ancient fiber optics of today. I don't see where there is a problem. The real problem is that the Mars underground civilization uses a similar currency that is used across the Galaxy and we will have to convert it to Bitcoin. At that point we will need more decimal points to accommodate the large value of a single Bitcoin. so every should buy a single Bitcoin now and will to the future generations and only allow them to spend it once each Bitcoin exceeds 100 Trillion USD of current value. Maybe we should instead be focussed on starting to use the Mars underground currency.

I could play roulette 5 times putting my bet on red each time. This could win me a lot of money or lose me a lot of money or come close to even.
If I play roulette 5000 times putting my bet on red each time I will more closely get the result of being down 1-2% as the house advantage dictates.
If I buy and spend bitcoin every day/week for several years the result will be a slow climb as bitcoin is a depreciating currency.
So no, bitcoin is not only suitable as a store of value.

Hmm, I wonder if the new Marscoin can be uploaded to those rovers to get it started so they have a currency when they get there.

I want to create this thread, slightly out of frustration although I would also like some thoughts. I will have funds in a few hours and I want to buy Bitcoins. The problem is the UK appears to be very limited in regards to services that will exchange GBP to BTC. At the moment I am aware of Localbitcoins and Bitbargain, are these the only services available for the UK? How can those of us who are UK residents get around this issue, maybe I am just missing something really obvious? I have been really trying to push some of my own Bitcoin projects forwards yet I am getting a growing feeling that I will only be able to target the international market as the UK laws (banks) are rejecting the digital currencies.
How can we convince an ordinary UK citizen to go through the laborious process of exchanging GBP to BTC, just for the pleasures of taking what will feel like a big risk to them. At this early stage I think it is essential that people can move around their money, I can't expect UK customers to purchase from my channels and to be honest, I will probably save myself anyway due to the difficulties above. So are the major banks disabling bank transfers to Bitcoin exchanges or are they using courts and the legal system to do the dirty work?
bitspend.net allows you to buy anything on the Internet with bitcoins. If you ever plan on buying anything on the Internet, you may want to change over to bitcoins.

We will reach 21 million bitcoins around 2140.
More than likely by then we will have colonies on Mars.
So the big problem before the need to worry about fees or reaching the maximum amount of bitcoins is.
How do we deal with people on Mars using Bitcoin?
(This question is as legitimately discussed now in 2013 as discussing how to handle mining in 2140.)

You can buy things on Amazon with bitcoins through bitspend.net
I seriously do not have any affiliation with that site but hardly anyone knows about them and they provide the groundbreaking service of allowing you to buy anything on the Internet with Bitcoin.
This trumps all of the huge announced websites accepting bitcoin in my eyes.

This site is truly to raise money to getting on my feet from the tough times I have had. And being able to help others around me. Positivity is the only way to go.
![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif) Likely why you are going through tough times. You believe that others should be helping you or should be helped instead of looking out for yourself until you are financially stable.

Oh man, this is awesome! My girlfriend has been giving me a real hard time about my Bitcoin obsession. I can wait to order her food from the place down the street she's been wanting to try using "fake internet money."
You may want to use bitspend.net to spend it on the Internet.
