NiceHash Miner 2
your video card is too old and inefficient to use on nicehash
nm miner 2 is still in beta.
doubt there is money for bugs while it is still being tested
maybe use https://github.com/nicehash/NiceHashMiner/releases

If option 1 or 3 occur, who are the candidates for new listed owner / mods? Someone please compile a list.

What should be done with the wall observer thread? (Your vote may be published.)  (Voting closes: July 03, 2017, 12:48:09 AM)
1. Transfer ownership of the current thread to someone active, and trust them to enforce on-topicness.    - 70 (36.3%)
Move the current thread to Off-topic and exempt it from all on-topicness rules.    - 30 (15.5%)
3. Move the current thread to a new Chat section which will be mostly ignored by bitcointalk.org mods, but will have its own set of mods pulled from the Wall Observer regulars in order to enforce some amount of order.    - 51 (26.4%)

We need some volunteers, particularly to my mind for option 3. original thread rules are too restricive
I volunteer the following

marcus_of_augustus
BlindMayorBitcorn
infofront

^these seem the least controversial.
these i wouldn't care for:

Lauda
Meuh6879

pl 'someone' do a thread for theymos

also, some technology from alt-threads
Of all the predictions going around, this one looks the most realistic to me. Segwit activation and lack of a soft fork on Aug. 1 will result in a breakout of the pennant being created now.

TA is all fine and dandy but i don't see a break out based on market sentiment until Nov 18: https://medium.com/@jimmysong/segwit2x-what-you-need-to-know-about-the-2mb-hard-fork-27749e1544ce

He's been sending me pms. I assume they're not directly addressed to me as I have zero technical knowledge.

i miss the guy. what is he up to these days? how about that much-awaited BitNet project of his? I did get some PMs from him too the past few weeks because I am one of those who followed his predictions on LTC. I hope he is well these days and return here because many people love reading his posts

What are his predictions on LTC? That's the main reason i'm trying to reach him. please pm
quite active on pms, also quite ill. nothing recent re ltc afaik sorry

^tails is pure security theatre. all modern *nix is compromised, same as windows.

gsm has backdoor
no modern chip specsheets/designs have leaked. ever. cannot verify
9509  Economy / Speculation / Re: WALL Observer : Death and Rebirth of Prices, Crashes and Lifes. on: June 29, 2017, 08:10:31 AM
too many traffic on old thread ... and without the OP, self-moderation don't work at all (ETH invasion, SCAM invasion).

Self-Moderated actually mean that i have a "DELETE" button on every message in this subject.
And i can lock this thread, too ... to clean the development of ALTS/SCAM discussion.

After all ... why not ?

Yeeeahhh..... unhhh... NO. Unilateral has no place in a permissionless environment.

You choose.

kthxby

Yeah actually I'm uncomfortable if he's uncomfortable.
Needed to keep the regulars, especially the Legendaries, on board.
Needed a very neutral set of rules in op to get anywhere near back to where we were.
9510  Other / Meta / Re: Wall Observer Thread locked? on: June 28, 2017, 09:30:46 PM
We speculate that absolutely anything can affect the usd price. Everything is on topic.
We moved to a thread with more relaxed rules https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1991115.0
edit: on further thought, maybe 'we' didn't
9511  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: NiceHash Miner - easy-to-use best-profit multi-device cryptocurrency miner on: June 28, 2017, 09:30:50 AM
Hi, is it possible to run the nicehash miner with your own overclocking/underclocking settings for each algo?

For example with DaggerHashimoto using Genoil miner and my own overclock settings I can get 31.3MH/s from my GTX1070.

If I run nicehash with everything at stock I get only 25MH/s.

Ideally Id like to set up optimised settings for ETH and Equihash and have it auto switch between the two, adding other algos later if necessary.
go to settings, then devices/algos, then extralaunch params.
not sure if nicehash uses genoil
disable any algo you don't want

You can't Smiley   NIcehash Miner is a sweet tool, dont get me wrong, but they will always struggle even being top 5 most profitable daily . And thats simply because: it always pay's more to do something yourself.
Nicehash finds you a buyer, Pays you PPS every single share, runs a wallet you can use, and makes it all available, puts cash in your pocket with "one-click" -- there's a fee for this service as you can imagine Cheesy

I'm struggling finding easy to understand information all in one place. Any tips and guidance are very welcome.
1) To my understanding I could run same miners as NiceHash app is running by launching them via *.bat file with proper parameters. This step would save me 2% (4%) fee for wallet transfers, right? But then I would loose profitability switching.
2) Next, the pool for which work is done is charging its fee no matter if one is using NiceHash app or miner directly, correct? But when it is the time for payout, does pool charge a fee for transferring into your wallet?
3) Last and most ambiguous question is how do I mine these non-popular coins. For example it was shown, that Musicoin was profitable. How do I mine this coin? Does mining some coin means connecting a right type of miner (that uses right algorithm) to a certain pool?

1. yes. yes. yes, but it's a slight myth - takes time for your gpu to change algo, submit shares... usually not worth it
2. yes. pools vary in policy. they have to have some minimum tx fee
3. research the announcement thread for Musicoin or their website. see which pools are announced and which ones the users favour. yes right type of miner for the coin's algo. should be a choice of pools.

I just got home and my GPU temp was really low... the ccminer window indicated that mining stopped about 4 hours ago.

Is there a way to prevent this? Eventually all I had to do was click Stop/Start again.

Edit; Does this happen often? I could write a simple tool that will close/launch NiceHash every 60 mins or so..?
the early versions of the latest version(!) were prone to random stops. maybe redownload and try again. seems more stable now. or the .12 was stable

suggest everyone follow here for mining tips: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1877588.0

yes, my 'treatied out after the war' rather fudged that issue: "in 1945, the Soviet Union invaded from Soviet Outer Manchuria as part of its declaration of war against Japan. Soon afterwards, the Communist Party of China and Chinese Nationalist Party (Kuomintang) started fighting for control over Manchuria. The communists won in the Liaoshen Campaign and took complete control over Manchuria. With the encouragement of the Soviet Union, Manchuria was then used as a staging ground during the Chinese Civil War for the Communist Party of China, which emerged victorious in 1949" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manchuria . The Japanese had made it into a puppet state, and it's now just 'the North-East', with a few token ethnic minorities scattered about.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hui_people#Tensions_between_Hui_and_Uyghurs . I said 'muslims', because of the huge complications in the North-West between different factions of islamic minorities, not just the Uighurs, all no doubt stirred up by the Han.
