9501  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC FN 111: Holm vs Correia Info and Prediction Thread on: June 19, 2017, 12:40:34 AM
@krach. Yes I will do that. I was planning on getting a subscription months ago anyway but sometimes I get the feeling it is not worth it. I did the 7 day trial but I ended up watching only a few fights.

5 reasons Conor McGregor can shock the boxing world and defeat Floyd Mayweather

https://fansided.com/2017/06/15/conor-mcgregor-floyd-mayweather-prediction-mcgregor/

To Summarized the article:

5. McGregor will have a clear size advantage
4. Conor McGregor is the younger fighter
3. Conor McGregor has been more active
2. A new motivating factor – Fatherhood
1. Conor McGregor is just different

That is the Conor hype machine hard at work. You should not believe and be swayed in what they are trying to make you believe. I want Conor to win as much as all of you but trying to say that Conor has the advantage here like an ICO trying to scam the people with fake promises.

Conor might not finish the whole 12 rounds because cardio issues.

9503  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [AEON] Aeon Speculation on: June 18, 2017, 03:19:09 AM
@Fantum. I speculate that there will be big demand for anonymous cryptocoins in the future. Monero will be the main beneficiary of this because it is one of the most popular anonymous coins in the market, and that might bring it to new highs. Aeon therefore will also benefit because of its close ties with Monero.
9504  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are you going to do when Vitalik gets impeached? on: June 18, 2017, 02:37:57 AM
the funny part is that nobody cares!
those experienced enough who can see this, will either avoid it at all costs or enjoy the profit while it lasts and are the first ones to dump ether before anyone else to secure their profits.
and the rest are just sheep who follow that coinmarketcap.com shows them as "top" cryptocurrency! and they always get burnt and leave the altcoin scene forever and most of them will only have bitcoin for the future.

ps [Manipulation 101] Market cap Cheesy

For now, yes nobody cares. Everyone who bought ETH are still making money and those holders are still very optimistic that ETH will become no.1 in coinmarketcap.com this year. But if the price starts dropping it will be a different story, especially when it is shown and proven that all of those projects that raised millions in their ICOs will not work because of Ethereum's limitations.

9506  Bitcoin / Press / [2017-06-18] Coinbase to White Hat Hacker: We Don't Want Your Bitcoin on: June 18, 2017, 02:20:58 AM
My question is what was a white hat hacker doing by using Coinbase to make transactions with merchants from the dark web? He can use any desktop wallet and if really knew what he was doing, he should start using Monero and xmr.to also to hide his transactions with criminals.

It seems almost antithetical that it's becoming harder for the 'good guys' to use bitcoin, when companies like Coinbase that operate with the digital currency have an uphill battle convincing individuals, businesses and government agencies that cryptocurrency should not be faulted for the bad actors' use of it.

But, according to Juan Llanos, a cryptocurrency compliance expert and the fintech and regtech lead at blockchain startup ConsenSys, it's all part of the same battle.

9507  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Mayweather Vs McGregor: Info and prediction thread on: June 17, 2017, 04:23:08 AM
@thejaytiesto. Yes it is mainly that but not only that. Conor has something special in him to make and promote a fight. To hype it very well that you would have no choice but to want to watch it.

Floyd saw this opportunity to fight someone who is the same as him so he took it.

Prepare for the trash talking. It will be the better part of this entire event than the fight.
9508  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-06-17] Major Bitcoin Exchanges Become Main Targets of Cyberattacks on: June 17, 2017, 04:16:05 AM
Poloniex is surely one of these exchanges. Many of the people who use it are now complaining that it is taking too long to make a deposit or a withdrawal. Some have become paranoid by saying they think Poloniex is already hacked but has not said anything to the public.
9509  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: NXT price makes no sense to me. on: June 17, 2017, 03:59:44 AM
It is a simple pump and dump done by the whales. There is a chance that they are doing it with the profit they got from the Ardor ICO by proxy which was also questionable. They could have done a proof of burn instead of what appears to be a coin split that doubled their holdings.
9510  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tezos - no max cap what will happen? on: June 17, 2017, 03:49:21 AM
If Tezos becomes the biggest in all of the history of ICOs then there is a chance that it might attract too much attention from the regulators. Tim Draper has already said he will be investing in this ICO. So if the amount raised reaches 500 million dollars, dont you think the regulators will start to question it?
9511  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitsport No.1 LIVE Sportsbook Casino Bitcoin & Litecoin | LIVE Keno 300 BTC | on: June 17, 2017, 03:30:10 AM
Bitsport rep, do you have any plans to add the next character to die in season 7 for the tv series "The Game of Thrones? That would be entertaining to bet on for big fans of the series like me.

I already have a thread open about Game of Thrones with the odds all linked and based from your site.
9512  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Mayweather Vs McGregor: Info and prediction thread on: June 17, 2017, 03:14:09 AM
That actually shows that Conor is in reality a douche bag. Floyd is not called Money for nothing. If there was a better hustler than Conor it is Floyd. He has been in the promotions game longer.

But with Floyd giving Conor this deal then he must have seen something in him.
9513  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-06-15] MORGAN STANLEY: Bitcoin isn't a currency on: June 16, 2017, 02:00:06 AM
Violence-backed (aka "fiat") currencies fluctuate too, but consistently downwards.

It's curious how Morgan Stanley fail to mention this contrast (fiat loses purchasing power while Bitcoin gains purchasing power), but it's not like Morgan Stanley are in biased position of being in the business of issuing newly created fiat currency in the form of credit loans.... oh no, wait, they are in that biased position, my bad Grin

That is very true. But about the fluctuations of bitcoin, do you think a price of more than 10,000 dollars per bitcoin be good enough to make 500 to 1000 dollar fluctuations look like a small drop in its value? That might also make it look more stable.
9514  Bitcoin / Press / [2017-06-15] Opinion: Stay away from bitcoin — it’s complete garbage on: June 16, 2017, 01:50:14 AM
The writer of the article has completely missed the point about bitcoin and other cryptocoins. He thinks it is only a currency and has not looked into them enough to see the technical developments poured in making them.

For him it is all about market share, competition and speculation. If I had four hands I would give this a 4 thumbs down article.

Brett Arends the writer of the article.

If you’ve ever wondered what “cryptocurrencies” such as bitcoin, litecoin and ethereum are for, ask one of their legions of techie-libertarian fans.

And it’s dollars to dogecoins (yet another one) that the conversation will go something like this:

You: So what’s the purpose of bitcoin?

Fan: The technology is absolutely amazing!

You: Yes, but what’s it for?

Fan: Really, the “blockchain” technology is a total masterpiece, way ahead of its time!

You: Yes, yes, I understand that. But what is it actually for?

Fan: You don’t understand! It’s a completely decentralized money system! Totally revolutionary!

You: Honestly, does it have a purpose? Any purpose at all?

Fan: It’s the wave of the future!

9515  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Mayweather Vs McGregor: Info and prediction thread on: June 16, 2017, 01:11:52 AM
Mayweather has a great advantage to McGregor in terms of punching and dodging skills. Mayweather is a genius in boxing even though his way of fighting is dodging and counter punching. Boxing is far different to MMA, even though McGregor is stronger in physical strength to Mayweather but still he didn't a good boxing skills. So my bet will goes to Maywether and this will be an easy win.

The odds will not be reasonable enough to make it a good bet. If you really are betting for Floyd, what are the odds today? It is -1000 in almost all the sportsbetting sites. To win 100, you should bet 1000. That is not a good bet.
9516  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Poloniex exchange, deposit is taking so long on: June 16, 2017, 01:03:04 AM
my concern is this exchange is already hacked, this can be any one of their coins listed
now they're trying to patch here and there in hope of getting it back to normal
remember this is a shit exchange not long ago

Do you mean hacked and funds stolen or ddos to lag the exchange? There is a difference.

If you mean that funds were stolen then that would be close to impossible. Poloniex addresses are known to the public and the community would have noticed large movements of cryptocoins going out of the exchange by now.

9517  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [AEON] Aeon Speculation on: June 16, 2017, 12:55:00 AM
@Febo. Why is there an interest in Aeon all of a sudden? The project has only 1 dev, a small community and the development budget depends on donations made which is not really that much compared to the money the ICOs have.

Is there something that they know that we do not?
9518  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [AEON] Aeon Speculation on: June 15, 2017, 02:53:16 AM
Is that it? Did we already witness Aeon's move for this year? That is disappointing. The small players took advantage of the situation and pumped Aeon and then dumped at the top.

But if we are talking about the longterm range, everything is ok.

9519  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Poloniex exchange, deposit is taking so long on: June 15, 2017, 02:29:44 AM
Posted a ticket on Poloniex 4 days a go and still haven't received my coins and no reply, is there something wrong with the exchange and how long does it take to receive a reply?
Do they have a ann on this site, maybe I can report it there?
thankx,

There are valid concerns about a possible liquidity problem before august 1st. It's obvious that everyone that knows where the wind blows is going to get their coins out of the exchanges in the risk of a split, this will mean any exchange that doesn't have liquidity will collapse.

My advice is that once you get your coins, take them out of the exchange until September+ and wait for this to resolve.

Is this true? I never heard of anything about exchanges' liquidity running dry before August 1. I am assuming it is because you think UASF will cause serious problems?

The exchanges will split your coins for you and you will have them on both chains. Poloniex did the same when the split happened in Ethereum. It was one of the first exchanges who acted honestly and gave their users control of their coins in the other blockchain.
9520  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Mayweather Vs McGregor: Info and prediction thread on: June 15, 2017, 01:49:24 AM
It is finally official. I know I have doubted it many times before in @jaytiesto's old thread but now I feel very excited about the fight. Yes I am eating my own words.

As an MMA fan I am betting for Conor. Are there boxing fans in the here?

Unbeaten boxer Floyd Mayweather will fight UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor in a much-discussed boxing match on Aug. 26 in Las Vegas, a well-placed source told Yahoo Sports on Wednesday.

Mayweather and McGregor both confirmed the fight on social media on Wednesday.

According to UFC president Dana White, the fight will be at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas and will be contested at 154 pounds. It will be a standard, 12-round boxing match with 10-ounce gloves. The Nevada Athletic Commission on Wednesday approved the request from Mayweather Promotions to put on a boxing card on Aug. 26 at the MGM Grand. The venue could change, however, to T-Mobile.

The bout will be distributed via Showtime pay-per-view. It will be an entirely boxing card. Mayweather Promotions will be the lead promoter.
