Yuh the ethnic minorities on the fringes of China, the Muslims, Mongolians http://www.rfa.org/english/news/china/torture-06222017104847.html and Manchurians were all annexed in the 18th/19th centuries or treatied out after the war, but Tibet was a modern day invasion, just like Kuwait or Crimea. Tibet the modern-day province is a made-up geopolitical entity; it used to be much larger. Sometimes the Tibetan villages in western Sichuan are much more untouched by the ghastly Han. Anyone who terrorizes the odd roving nun deserves to have their 'country' split up.

is bitcoim a NSA/CIA projekt? and satoshi only the one who had the idea? which was than brought lo live by NSA/CIA
My current favored hypothesis is that Bitcoin was a result of the thoughts of one person known as Satoshi, and he was not working on the behalf of or for the corp/gov state. At least not in his Bitcoin related work. He (probably a male) did derive much motivation from earlier cypherpunk types who came pretty close to Bitcoin in some fundamental ways. From thence, I feel that quite early on the CIA recognized the value of Bitcoin to various of their operations. Probably right around the point when someone had the bright idea of bypassing the financial blockade against Wikileaks using it. I consider the CIA to be on par with organized crime (and with large amount of cross-pollination.) Their main function is as the muscle for the corp/gov owners (who are primarily bankers.) Some say that the Jesuits serve a similar purpose in Catholicism, but I digress. Anyhoo, I believe that the U.S. govt dropped their reflexive resistance to Bitcoin and became effective (if somewhat silent) supporters in the 2012 timerframe, and a good part of this would have been attributable to pressure from the intelligence community. Obviously I could be dead wrong on any or all of these ideas. Yes, then the FBI brought their drugs game into play, and both the NSA and CIA started seeding disinfo about encryption, and nobbled cisco, wintel and linux, all to get at our precious wallets.

hillo guys newbie in GPU mining i have a question i hope someboday can answer me because i want to mine my GPU for nice hash but i cant use my GPU do you guys what is the problem of this? im using NVIDIA GT 220 do you think this GPU can use for mining? i try to bencemark but it ddnt sync to nice hash i was hoping that you can help me i want to earn some bitcoin using my computer thank you so much i was waiting for all your advice guys thank you
sorry to say your gpu is much too old and inefficient to use for mining you would need to research on this board (mining altcoins!) which gpu to invest in (maybe the gtx 1050 for you i don't know) https://new.nicehash.com/profitability-calculator/nvidia-gtx-1050?e=0.1¤cy=USDbut look, some say this mining wave may be thinning out soon Could someone give me a pointer to explanation/tutorial of who actually buys all this hashing power of NiceHash sellers? It cant be a cloud mining service as it cant be profitable for the buyer and most cloud mining services are ponzi schemes ( https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=878387.0). https://new.nicehash.com/help/why-would-someone-buy-hashing-powerbasically, research or pumping dodgy coins

I was going over the bitcoin mailing list, until I read gmaxwell's post: https://lists.linuxfoundation.org/pipermail/bitcoin-dev/2017-June/014633.html Fuck all those fuckers who want to fork the shit out of bitcoin. Core devs support for Segwit 2x (check on the right): https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Segwit_supportI don't know what the solution is, but I do know that having a single chain is more important than breaking up bitcoin in (at least 2) forks, possibly 4 or 5 - some with different PoWs, or different properties. When the situation gets too messy with all the crap (uasf, segwit, segwit2x, classic/xt/bu bullshit), perhaps we should start with a clean slate to deal with scaling. If there's no consensus from the technical community, the miners and the economic entities, perhaps it's for a good reason... That's just maxwell showing he doesn't understand what's going on and being a drama llama. Read on, and the others gently explain things to him, until https://lists.linuxfoundation.org/pipermail/bitcoin-dev/2017-June/014638.html... where he makes the very valid point that someone is wrong on the internet, and then comes up with a proposal and a question that - you guessed it - are already being worked on.

it's a public display of appreciation and donation. a whip round for a jolly good fellow with a big birthday this year.
there's a link in the op where Philip mentions not getting many donations, not that that is why he's helping people.
there's no set amount - send what you like

All right enough with the off topic and sour grapes. Yes others deserve credit. Go and make threads about them. This thread is about Philip. Not you.

https://www.hrw.org/video-photos/interactive/2017/06/20/tibet-glossary-repressionDefinition: The full version of this phrase in Chinese means “important persons to be controlled,” while the Tibetan version uses a shorter form meaning “focus personnel” or “key individuals.” This refers to individuals deemed to pose a potential threat to society, so that officials and police should monitor or “control” their movements and behavior especially closely; similar to profiling. (3) “mobile” monks and nuns, meaning those who are not officially affiliated to and residing in a monastery; The Chinese seem to have read their Orwell.

Ah that's fantastic. Thank you, Dabs. And no fee if we don't raise much. Brilliant! Many thanks also to our fourth party, Quickseller, for verifying. Now everyone dig deep. If we raise a mere 100btc, Philip gets 99btc and can retire if he wants, and Dabs can bet 1btc on some ghastly altcoin, hoping for a moonshot. I see we have already found around $80 at today's rates - enough for a nice bottle of 30 yr old Port https://www.majestic.co.uk/Sandeman-30-Year-Old-Tawny-Port-zid16005bet that tx with a frankly rather low fee will go through next time viaBTC finds a block. ahem. "Specially selected Ports are chosen for ageing in wooden casks with gradual exposure to air, concentrating the flavours and maturing the ruby colours to a golden amber colour. Intense aromas of honey and spices with deep flavours of dried apricots, hazelnuts and vanilla."

He already answered. It is not possible with bitcoin. Please stop talking about 'a blockchain' and 'smart contracts'. This is marketing speak from scammers (ethereum/ripple/etc) and you believe it at your peril. Come back in 5 years and that will be proven. there's only one blockchain that is safe. you can make the odd contract on it if you're in with deedbot.org, but not 100,000, and I doubt they'd be interested
Why only the blockchain? I have a Xapo wallet and still had no problems. I do not advocate that all bitcoins stored in one place, even if the purse seems to be more reliable than others. Long-term storage of bitcoin is always risky, but it can't be changed. not talking about blockchain the shockingly bad web wallet, or any wallets for that matter. still, your probable feigned confusion earned you a few bob, so that's just great

New interface on the website!? Seems cool. I hope balances will also update soon because I'm currently seeing zero! oh yeah. notbad. and at the bottom it says "We are currently processing payments for sellers of hashing power." payday soon enough

What's also amusing is the corresponding drop in transactions back to normal basal levels again now that all those pools are in agreement about what to do next. This adds circumstantial evidence that someone was injecting all that shit into the transaction biosphere to make it look like there was a transaction volume crisis there that didn't exist.
I pointed out the drop in mempool spam a few weeks ago and nobody commented. What's interesting is fees haven't gone down, probably because the blocks are still full and people have their fees cranked up to avoid stuck transactions. Since the blocks are full, I'm guessing that fake volume with a lot of inputs was clogging the mempool. I also saw last month 1000s of transactions that were invalid, that slowed the network down, indicating an actor with high technical knowledge. I'm hoping somebody who is more technically knowledgeable than me can figure out who was/is spamming. I know it's not that easy to attribute the transactions. Chances are we could at least get a source IP address, and then work from there... aliens https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=197593

to clarify last night's discussion: ... I'm going to call it now, segwit2x will be responsible for activating segwit at last due to overwhelming miner support, BUT great thanks to James Hilliard for introducing them to BIP91 which makes segwit2x compatible with the other segwit activations. Watch this for the very rapid rise in segwit2x support that will happen fast now: https://coin.dance/blocksSegwit may well get a miner activated soft fork before BIP148's UASF which remains in limbo in terms of meaningful support but seems to have had the desired effect of forcing miners' hands in one way or another. What happens after segwit though is a mystery, but there is enough miner hashrate support for 2MB that it might happen too. very lolworthy that Hilliard is 1. a core dev. 2. works for 'bitmainwarranty' (not bitmain but still!) but 3. wrote this bip91 to tie segwit in, to 'both' parties' satisfaction miners' signalling has for the moment no real effect. the dates to watch are 14-21 July. bitmain (viaBTC) may then later hard fork to make this chinacoin, which imnvho may have a little value as an altcoin so, if there's any correlation to price with all this, sideways for ~4 weeks, then more likely than not blast off
