9541  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-01-04] Japan: The New Heart of Bitcoin on: January 06, 2018, 03:04:47 AM
Every country can be the heart of bitcoin, but Japan seems the best due to Satoshi Nakamoto maybe a Japanese or come from Japan Cheesy
What makes Japan different is consumer protection through licensed exchanges, even if an exchange get hacked, consumers funds will be replaced by government. After GMO can create 7nm chips for mining, Japan will be the most powerful country for bitcoin users.
Another country to consider is Belarus which has legalized cryptocurrency and ICO as well, even free from taxes for 5 years.

Japan is very different in term of bitcoin usage and adoption though. They really love it as evident when they entered the pictured last year, bitcoin price was pushed beyond new boundaries. I don't know about Satoshi though, maybe its just a coincidence that the creator carries a Japanese name.  Smiley. And they are now challenging China in terms of mining hardware,, its about time though, as the Chinese have been in monopoly of mining gear so I'm excited about GMO's joining the market as well. They are really the number 1 driving force behind bitcoin, followed by South Korea. And they even have new exchanges to be open soon. With that said, bitcoin is really unstoppable with the backing of a high tech country like Japan.
9542  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: BTC up Alts dipping on: January 05, 2018, 03:56:37 PM
Why is it that when BTC price rises, all alts begin to have a bloodbath?

Its simple. Atlcoins traders or investors are dumping their coins, causing it to dip a little and then moving their funds to bitcoin making the price of it going further. They have this thing called mutual exclusive. Its been practice by most of traders and its normal procedure so say the least. But there was times that both of the market flourish, which means that there are really new investors entering the picture. As of today, bitcoin price is above $16,000. I can't remember when was the last time we have seen it recovered in this price. Its a good sign that we have seen some great movement in bitcoin price. Japan and South Korea is again leading the way. And the price is even premium in South Korea, above $5000 with the current Western trading exchanges counterpart. Ripple is down hard with 15%, hah, just what I thought, its only short term and the so called "Rippening" didn't materialized. Sorry, bitcoin proves he is still the King. So brace yourself, we may see another bull run in he making here folks.
9543  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lightning Network Incoming: BTC to the MOON ? on: January 05, 2018, 03:47:44 PM
When LN will be there, will BTC go the moon and crush all altcoins on the road ??

I think it will really help a lot in terms of alleviating the network congestion and as a result will push the price even further. It really depends on how you define mooning here. But I'm sure that there will be a renewed interest that will comes along with the implementation of Lightning Network. And I don't think that it will crush altcoins, although it may significantly affect how their market goes because there maybe people who will shift their funds from altcoin to bitcoin once again. We all know for a fact that this has been practice by most investors and traders. If they see that bitcoin is moving up, they will dump their altcoins immediately. Let's see how it goes though, we have been hearing that the test was successful. Only time will tell when they are going to activate it with bitcoin. It will not be an easy task in the beginning, but if people find LN a big boost to really help with the high fees and slow confirmation, I'm sure that everyone will be happy to see it doing its purpose as sidechain.
9544  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: crypto wallets and your nerves on: January 05, 2018, 03:33:29 PM
how many people here now crap themselves when using their wallets because there's so much value in them?

back in the day i never thought twice about throwing coins around. these days my heart starts hammering and my sight goes fuzzy restoring and moving wallets. i double and triple check every address, check seeds every time, run a million anti virus things even though they're hardware wallets. and i'm not even that rich.

how do the people with millions do it without cracking up completely? we all know a couple of wrong clicks can send everything into oblivion.

Oh yeah, I definitely check every bit of information when I'm transferring funds around, specially if I'm using a mixer to hide my identify. I also bookmark the site as to not get phished around and triple check everything before sending it. Even  sweeping and restoring as well gets me fuzzy. LOL. Your heart beats faster and a little nervous specially if it involves big amounts. I don't have millions though but I'm sure that those who have really double check everything. As what you have said bitcoin transaction is irreversible and one mistakes all of your hard earn bitcoin is gone somewhere.
9545  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Agobooks Antminers on: January 05, 2018, 02:53:12 PM
All of you who were scamed by agobooks.ro please sent a complain to cybercrime@politiaromana.ro i already got an answer from them and they will start the investigation. So let’s do something with this guys insted of just stand an watch.

May I know what answers you got though? This kind of shady website really damages bitcoin reputation in general. However, since crypto is really taking off, a lot of members are still falling for the trap because they are offering it a discounted price. I did try to see the site today and it looks like it was taken down already, either voluntary or by the authorities as they have been reported by you guys. Nice to see that we can really help each other here to try and bring down scammy site such as this one. However, they will just sprung up later with a different name so just beware. Its better to buy at Bitmain instead of getting it somewhere who promise to deliver with discounted price and turns out to be a scam and they run off with your hard earn funds.
9546  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Signature campaign tutorials for beginer on: January 05, 2018, 02:36:28 PM
Come on now his/she just want to learn dont be so harsh man. His/Shes just asking what is a signature campaign.
Did you come out of your mother's womb with complete knowledge of crypto? Are you Satoshi? Stop being such a ridiculous person and try to be helpful, that's what we all are here for.
Sorry if I was too rude, but I think that people without knowledge about cryptocurrencies shouldn't participate in signature campaigns. It's just my opinion. OP just have to give more effort to learn more about cryptocurrencies and to improve quality of his posts. And instead of opening this thread, why he didn't tried to do at least minimal reasearch? I'm sure he can find information about signature campaigns himself. Forum is full of threads about it.
And I never said that I have complete knowledge about crypto. Being in crypto world for few years I still have many things to learn. But I'm always trying to search for information myself. And only when I can't find what I'm looking for, then I'm asking on Bitcointalk.

LOL. I understand where you coming from dude, sometimes I also tend to be rude because we don't like members here being spoon feed by us. There's always the search button to begin with (though I'm not sure if its still working or not). But my point is that you need to put some effort on your part as well, to learn how this forum works because I'm sure we learn it the hard way. For starters, I would advise to that OP to just play around with the forum and see how it works for you. I still remember when I was just starting here that I would spend hours reading around. I still needed to bookmark the "Market->Services" section because I don't know to find bitcoin signature campaigns. LOL. Here is the link for the Bitcoin Signature Campaign: >> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=52.0
For Altcoins Bounty: >> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=238.0

There are guidelines already set and stickied to the board. Just read it and please understand the ins and outs of a campaign. Goodluck to you.
9547  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-01-05] Bitcoin Price Surges 10% to $16,300 After Week-Long Slump on: January 05, 2018, 02:23:12 PM
Looks like we are hearing the herd from afar. The massive bullrun is on its way once again. I hope that everyone is ready and bought bitcoins when the price is around $12,000-$13,000. Japan and South Korea are again pumping bitcoin and as reported, they are above most of Western trading platform by a whopping $5000. Ripple is already sliding, so I think people are slowly dumping and moving to bitcoin once again. Need to really get out of Ripple now, it looks like its over, and I don't think that it can really sustain that huge run it had. Now it bitcoin's time to take the spotlight from altcoins. Oh and there's another trading platform being launch by the Japanese, so it looks like this positive news shifts the power from altcoin to bitcoin once more. Let's see how it goes though, really felt good seeing bitcoin almost touching $17,000. Maybe at the end of the day it will surpass it and moves closer to $20,000 once more.
9548  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin's price is getting low on: January 05, 2018, 02:05:56 PM
You guys really don't know how bitcoin market really operates, sometimes the market can be down, but there's no need to be sad on your part because bitcoin have shown that it will can recovered, we just have to give it time. I'll be honest with you that I also was quite disappointed when bitcoin falls to $12,000 and the price hovering around $13,000 for quite some time specially during holidays. I see my investment going down, but I didn't panic because I know that its one of the days that bitcoin is somewhat on a slump, moving sideways and the bullish sentiments are not replace by the bears. FUD here and there can be found as well in the forum causing the price so really drop. However, I think this is the beginning of our recovery because the price is going to $17,000 as of the moment. I think people are not very happy that we have somewhat recovered already and hoping that we can reach the ever elusive $20,000.
9549  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: should i buy ripple? on: January 05, 2018, 01:43:42 PM
i think it is right time to buy ripple because it is now second place

Say it again? You are buying it just because its now the second coin behind bitcoin in terms of marketcap? Do you understand what you are saying here? marketcap is not that significant because it has overvalued most of the coins in the list. And you are going to be late in the party if you are going to get it today because the price is already at the top. And currently, its been down maybe dumping has already started and you don't want to be trap inside. Its really hard to see how that price surge can be sustainable in the long run, short term though its really good specially if you have bought it below $1, but when its started to be pump hard, I will be wary of it because anytime the dump could happen and now it looks like it has just started.
9550  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: I need a Blog Review - ProtonBitcoin on: January 05, 2018, 01:25:53 PM
Hey after some months since I started learning the tecnical part of bitcoin I've decide to open an Information Site.
So far I've publisher just 1 article but I'm going to work hard (actually I ma optimizing the site) but before writing more articles I'd like to have some opinions about the first article.

Here is it:

www.protonbitcoin.com/what-is-bitcoin/

First off, welcome to the community, it looks like your blog is not yet finished but its a good start. Here's a my comments:

1. I think it would be better if you put a link to Satoshi's Whitepaper, or at least mentioned it in your blog. So that non technical would have a source or something to understand what bitcoin is.

2. It would be better if you could explain it a little further though, and let me quote:

Quote
Due to this nature, nobody can control its use and value so it can also be used anonymously!

Bitcoin is not completely anonymous if that's how you understand it. Its psuedo-anonymous.

3. You can also put a link here: https://bitcoin.org/en/choose-your-wallet, regarding what wallet to used.

Goodluck though, I hope you take the criticism in the positive way dude and continue your good work.
9551  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to trade without losses on: January 05, 2018, 12:58:48 PM
It is so impossible to trade without any single loss.  But the thing is we can compensate every loss thru average down. So do not trade the whole money 100%. Always trade in portion. One more thing do not trade using margin if you dont know how to manage it.

Yes I agree, its impossible without lose in trading.but possible in investment without lose any profits.trading is basically compared to positive and negative. Always balance you can lose and you can win.you need to learn a lesson in you're previous trade then apply it in the second time around to earn more profits.

LOL. Trading is very risky and no traders have ever been in a green all the time. That's why sometimes trading and gambling as being compared because you are either in the winning or losing side. And its impossible to sustain without a lost. And sometimes its been if we experience a lost down the line, because we are going to treat it as a lesson in our trading journey. I think the best way is just to mitigate the risk, learn how to exit on time and you need to have a entry and exit strategy as well. I myself, has also experienced a lot of lost during my initial journey, however, I didn't see it as a hindrance. I try to learn from it so that I won't make the same mistakes again.
9552  Economy / Speculation / Re: FUD FUD and more FUD on: January 05, 2018, 12:43:38 PM
Was at a BBQ a few days ago and Bitcoin was a hot topic.

What had really frustrated me was when someone said "I read the creator of Bitcoin has sold all his BTC, Bitcoin is going down". I was WTF are you reading?, then i remembered the story of the founder of bitcoin.com sold all his BTC. Had to explain that he wasn't the creator of BTC. No one knows for sure who created BTC etc etc.. That, what he had ready was FUD FUD and more FUD!

Then last night, the same thing from someone else! "Creator of Bitcoin has sold all his BTC" and he started to push XRP is the way to go. That was when i really lost it! and told him to go FUCK himself.

We are losing the FUD battle! This is bullshit. It is causing potential new users to opt out of BTC and possibly into alt-coins.

Sly
These people are just idiots. They don't analyze anything and just follow whatever FUD they come across to be true and they just don't stop with that. They try their best and spend their energy to spread this FUD to many people they know.It creates a negative publicity among the public about bitcoin.

I can't blame them, the bitcoin and alt currencies are yet to be regulated so it really is much as standing on a very thin rope that could snap anytime. What I'll recommend they do is study, read and understand.

I agree with you.  What people fail to do is due diligence. They join the crypto investment and trading community with insufficient knowledge base.

We can't really deny the fact the bitcoin and crypto is gaining popularity everyday. A lot of investors or newcomers to the market. But what's funny is  this set of investors who did join really thinks that they can really profit in short amount of time. Sort of get rich scheme. They flock the market buying bitcoin at top price, and when it falls, they are the first one to dump the coins instead of holding it, they panic because of the FUD being spread around the forum. Just really sad that most of them get lost around the crypto industry because they didn't do their homework. They thought that's is very easy to earn, and they found out the hard way that it is not. Most of them leave scratching their head and didn't know what happen to their money and disappointed on bitcoin and never comeback. While others decided to remain but they incurred a high price.
9553  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is it the end...? on: January 05, 2018, 11:18:15 AM
Oh no, bitcoin suddenly went nuts and go above $16,000 once more as coinmarketcap. Do you really think that bitcoin's dominance will just suddenly disappear? My God, Flippening didn't succeed, What are the chances of Rippening then? Nada. They have their 5 minutes of fame, its over guys. its price is suddenly going red for the first time while bitcoin is climbing back and sitting on its throne like a king. Ripple is centralized coin, if I'm not mistaken and I don't think that investors like you and me want to see someday that a coin which is centralized will reign as the no. 1 crypto. And its another altcoins, almost every altcoins now are being pump, specially last month. Everyone of them has its fair share of hugging the limelight for sometime before eventually going down before another altcoin is pump next, this tiime its Ripple turn, but long term I doubt that it can sustain its run. Today marks the end of it.
9554  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [UFC 219: Cyborg vs Holm. NEW EVENT!] The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: January 05, 2018, 11:08:53 AM
@nydiacaskey01. I reckon no. Floyd Mayweather will not dare fight in any MMA organization, especially not among the best in the UFC. He will not last 1 round in there.

I speculate that Floyd might be planning something involving the UFC but it will involve him fighting in the octagon.

I would not directly say no. Mayweather is training for MMA and if he would fight in the MMA, it will bring him (and Conor) a lot of money, probably even more than the boxing match. Offcourse Conor would win the fight, but that is irrelevant.

But I don't think that Floyd will really go to the Octagon, follow the rules of MMA and fight Conor. So I have to agree with @bbc.reporter here. He would put his body to fight Conor. Remember, "health comes first" for him. If ever he go up against Conor we all know that Conor will try to bust him and take him down. Mayweather doesn't want to be humiliated and embarrassed and have his 0 gone in that fashion.

As for Conor, I think he will have to wait for the Tony and Khabib to damage each other before fighting either one of them. I also reckon he will go for the Diaz trilogy because it will also bring good money for him as well. Little risk, big reward for him instead of fighting either Khabib or Tony.
9555  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Can Be A Savior! on: January 05, 2018, 10:58:24 AM
Bitcoin can be called a savior in all countries because bitcoin is also a job and make money. I'm sure someday and future bitcoin will be a money mine for everyone and country.

In a third world country, I think bitcoin is really a savior for most of them because bitcoin can really give them a lot of opportunity to really earn here in our forum. And as they gained experienced they ventured to trading, which we all know that is a high risk high reward. But for me, I'm have look at other options as well, because I don't rely on bitcoin earning for me to survived, although my earnings from it was channel to my offline business. I just hope that others will also have other investments not only in bitcoin because we all know that its very unstable and in just a matter of minutes or hours that price can drastically change. So I advise not just to really in bitcoin as a savior but diversity so that in case something happen to the cryptoworld, you have other options to earn and survived. IMHO.
9556  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-01-04] Happy Birthday Bitcoin, and Don’t Forget About Cypherpunks - Keiser on: January 05, 2018, 10:09:47 AM
I know that the concept of bitcoin was not the first because there have been cyrpto's before it and I think that Satoshi tap to that as a inspiration to develop bitcoin itself. However, I'm not aware of the cypherpunks thing, but its a good lessons to history for all of us. Truly amazing how bitcoin journey is, going from 0 to almost touching a record of $20,000 last year. I think we already know its history, its time for us to really take it to the next level. It was endured criticism along its very existence, and up to this time there are still a lot of people who are doubting bitcoin and the blockchain. However, we are looking for another ten years and I'm sure that it could be considered as one of the best technology in the last decade. I also hope that this year will be another break out year for bitcoin because no one can really stop bitcoin and cryptocurrency revolution.
9557  Economy / Speculation / Re: bitcoin worth it or not? on: January 05, 2018, 02:08:37 AM
Certainly, why do you think that it is not worth? If it is not valuable, why do million people in the world invest in it and use it for payment?

if you are talking about bitcoin as micro-payment, currently its not the case because of the high cost of transaction fee and slow confirmation time. But if you are looking at it as for of investment specially for long term, YES its definitely worth it because your money can grow 10 folds in just a matter of years. Last year it started at around $700 and ended at around $13,000-$15,000. So clearly you should have profited that much already by just holding on it for one year.

i believe bitcoin is still very worthy coin to invest now, bitcoin is still on the move of rising every year, and surely will keep rising in the future, so it is up to you to choose to invest or not depends on your financial.

This is what I'm saying, every year there is a big movement in price. Some predicted it around $30,000-$50,000 at the end of the year. But it's too early to tell. Of course if you have lots of funds to invest, you can get tons of money from it. But others as well invested in small proportion and overtime they can accumulate more resulting in a greater profit in the end.
9558  Economy / Economics / Re: 2017 Was Bitcoin's Year. 2018 Will Be ....... on: January 04, 2018, 05:30:47 PM
On my own point of view if 2017 was bitcoins year then this yeas 2018 it will still bitcoins year as well and I believe that it the value of bitcoin will still huge and more expensive then it will be more popular to many people because of its high value.

Of course there's no doubt that 2018 will still be the year of bitcoins. However, there will be a lot of altcoins that will challenge bitcoin dominance, like Ripple and Ethereum. But bitcoin will remain the #1 crypto and those who are trying to questions its supremacy will not succeed. As for the price, it could tripled or quadrupled, no one can really tell, but the future will be really bright, but there will be a lot of roadbumps, conflicts but at the end of the day, bitcoin will survive and will go even further. One thing though that I want to see being resolved or at least alleviate the issues is the slow confirmation time and high transaction fees. I'm waiting for Lightning Network to be really implemented so that the price will skyrocketed again. But let's see how it goes, its too early to tell, but I can still see that bitcoin will have a bright future this 2018.
9559  Economy / Economics / Re: Indonesian Ban on: January 04, 2018, 05:22:33 PM
Bank of Indonesia have put a complete ban on bitcoin currency from 1st January, 2018. Bank Indonesia head of transformation Onny Widjanarko said the regulation on e-money would be issued in the near future. He further appealed to vendors and merchants not to accept Bitcoin transactions stating that it would not be held responsible for any losses incurred. According to Indonesian government bitcoin is largely used in illegal activities like terrorism, money laundering, prostitution, and drug trafficking in their country.

Oh well, its really sad to see that a nation think that bitcoin is really used for illegal activities. They could at least put a tighter regulations on it instead of a total ban. Some of its Asean neighbors though are bitcoin friendly, that's why I'm still surprise to find out that Indonesian's government decision. Again, its not bitcoin's fault that criminals are taking advantage of its psuedo-anonymous nature, but there are a lot of cryptos suited for them. And the bottomline here is who are going to be affected? its their citizens who have been enjoying bitcoins for many years. And I'm sure that a lot of our Indonesians bitcoiners are really unhappy with the government decisions. I don't know if they can still go trade or purchase bitcoin around because of this news. But I'm sure that they will find a way, however, there are risk because once the government find it there's a penalty for sure. Just be careful.
9560  Economy / Speculation / Re: China to restrain mining on: January 04, 2018, 05:15:24 PM
Please read below article. I for one think that China completely leaving the Bitcoin world would be great so we can stop running across their pathetic rule changes.

https://www.reuters.com/article/us-markets-bitcoin-china-mining/china-central-bank-can-tell-local-governments-to-regulate-bitcoin-miners-power-use-source-idUSKBN1ES0TD

If this is true then what we are really expecting is becoming a  reality. Starting with a banned on ICO then shutting down their local exchanges, it seems logical that they really want a total ban on bitcoin, mining farms should be the next target. In a sense, this is good because they have been manipulating it for the last 8 years or so and its better to have another nation to rise up and fill the void like Japan. GMO are already building its own mining hardware so I would assume that they will also be involving themselves in bitcoin mining. But it remains to be seen though. The only affected party here is definitely those mining workers who stop farming and shift to bitcoin work. I'm sure that they have made lots of money already, but closing or reducing mining farm would really affect a lot of Chinese specially in the provinces where bitcoin mining sprung up. Although it can affect the market price significantly, but I tend for long term if will be good for the ecosystem.
