My guess is that you roll have to reindex the blockchain, which does not take as long as redownloading.

I can't believe how amateurish the persons behind blockchain.info are. I mean they have this great domain name and a really old and established project that many are using. But then they go ahead and do so many errors that it is not funny anymore.
correct me if I'm wrong but I think the fact that they are the most used bitcoin website only makes it even more difficult to keep everything in order. it's not like things will get easier as their users increase thousands daily. True but they have made several mistakes over the years that simply point to bad software engineering. In this case they simply failed to validate transactions coming through their pushing mechanism. In other cases such add their android app, they used a bad random number generator.

You can use these for a GPU instance but a credit card is needed in order to use ec2. The card only needs a few dollars and the credit can then be used for the actual costs of the instance.

I want to put my Bitcoins to some sort of use and try to grow them, but the problem is i've read people get scammed in BTCJam even by A+ approved borrowers. Hows this case? Why would you scam someone after giving all of your details? (to be A+ approved you need tons of details).
I don't think you need verification to lend. As for scammers, they could easily get fake documents to become verified. Then when they scam, even if someone tries to go after them, they don't lose anything of value. That is why in order to borrow here a valid collateral is required and ID's are not accepted.

I don't think there is a bug. Did you check a block explorer to see if that transaction actually just came in and had two confirmations? Sometimes Bitcoin Core shows the notification for transactions that you had received around the time that the or is currently synced up to.

But you still need the full blockchain to sign and send a transaction securely, that's why it would be nice to have a really lightweight sending capable client that communicates with a trusted "receive and notify" blockchain to sign the outgoing transactions. Is that what bitcoin-tx is supposed to be?
You don't need to have the full blockchain in order to sign a transaction. In fact, you don't need the blockchain at all. That is how offline wallets work. What you pretty much described is the principle behind SPV wallets. bitcoin-tx is not an SPV wallet. It is simply a command line utility for transactions.

I will release it as soon as possible. And i will try to find a guide on how to set it up. At the end it is a simple php script, as far as i know. Ill speak with the developer now. How does he get around the IP ban problem?

You can't import keys into MultiBit anymore. That function was removed. The only thing you can do is to send the Bitcoin from Bitcoin Core to MultiBit.

Yeah, it's the same system. Hardware shouldn't be an issue as it is just a few years old. Checking blocks isn't the problem, it's purely the syncing process. There's a small chance that all the peers you're connected to are slow. Close it and delete peers.dat. On the next start it will get fresh peers. Or if you know a quick node you can add it manually with the -addnode=<ip> command. You can submit it on the command line, conf file or debug window. Did everything you mentioned but with no success so far. I noticed yesterday that while the wallet showed it is 28 hours behind, an incomming transaction popped up made 2 hours before opening my wallet to sync. Which is quite weird as the wallet was showing it was more than a day behind. Does that mean it does sync properly and the problem is in fact the wallet showing incorrect information? It means that it received the transaction when it was broadcast, but has not synced the blockchain up yet. This is normal as the client will still receive transactions and data from nodes as it syncs. The transaction should still say unconfirmed in your wallet even when it is confirmed because the blockchain is not up to date so it does not know whether the block confirming the transaction is legit or not until it syncs.

I suppose you could mine a block, wait for a block with the next block height, and broadcast the one you mined. That would guarantee that the block is orphaned.

I found the refined version of Heuristic 2. The simplest way is to identify the transactions that only have two output addresses. And only one of the output appears first time in the blockchain (new address). The new address will be identify as the change address. -snip- Its not correct. I have seen people asking to send Bitcoins to new addresses due to privacy concerns. I don't think "heuristic 2" will work. I might be wrong though! I see that a lot too with businesses, since it also makes it easier to track payments. I think a better way to think of heuristic 2 is that the change addresses are usually weird numbers. You typically sent some nice even number of Bitcoin to someone, like 0.10 BTC, and not something like 0.1876573 BTC. I think in transactions where one output is clean and the other is not, then the assumption can be made that the weird output is the change.

You can use other SPV wallets to do this, but I don't think Bitcoin Core can do that.
You could also share the blockchain data directory of that node and have each wallet have its data directory pointed to that one. Then you can change the wallet name on each node so that each one has a different wallet. The problem is that if that node is compromised, the Bitcoin in all three wallets can be lost.

I don't think that anyone has actually hit the maximum. I myself have only reached the 4th prize. Of course, if you use their multiplier, you can get your winnings to get pretty high.

It's all still there. The puzzle seems to come out to the private key for the address. It would be nice if OP could add some more to the prize as this has gone on for a few days already.

then we get 5hee2 which looks like the beginning of a private key. The second character in an uncompressed private key has to be one of H,J,K. If we use 'XoXo' from the hint to indicate case, we get 5HeE2. If you decode 5hee2 with the same shift cipher as the hint, it comes out as 5juu2, and 5Juu2 would also be a valid start for a private key. Also, part of the hint was "UU EqUAl SmAll lETTErS", which further points in this direction. Bingo. I think that's it. the hint is actually all upper case "UU EQUAL SMALL LETTERS" That makes sense. So that string is probably the start. Maybe the "replace 1 and 2" hint also meant to swap 1 and 2? So it starts with 5Juu22CkB3
