961  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ixcoin TODO on: April 25, 2014, 06:37:06 PM

iXcoin now at 40 Peta-Hash network [Security].

The distance [in network security] between iXcoin and 99% of the alts is getting ridiculous.

Yet [still] nobody sees this massive advantage yet.  People really are sheep eating up anything the Bitcoin "experts" throw at them.

iXcoin is getting a free ride due to merged mining. This is just a temporary advantage, since IXC will reach maturity in 2015 (All 21M coins mined) there will be no need for miners to continue doing this after next year (no reward, no work). As such they will likely drop IXC like a hot potato. Because there are not enough real transactions on the IXC network there is no incentive for anyone to keep the difficulty (and security) up. Unless something changes everything will fall apart.

The good news is that IXC is going through insane inflation right now (money supply is expanding much faster compared to bitcoin) and is still maintaining its value fairly well. After 2015 the only way to acquire IXC is to buy. It only makes sense to buy if the security of the network can be maintained so that is paramount to the survival of iXcoin. This deadline is approaching fast.

For IXC to survive I suggest that the model be changed to 5%/year PoS after the 21M PoW maturity point is reached in 2015.

It will be very difficult to transform this to a PoS system.

962  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] IPO of MaidSafe:  Entering the Future of the Decentralized Internet on: April 25, 2014, 04:08:50 PM
MSC was trading at around .08 BTC before this.

Why would David J of MSC foundation think that it's a fair way to run an IPO to give more than twice the ROI in MSAFE for MSC holders than for BTC holders?

Maidsafe has to defend MSC now because it is holding a ton of MSC... too bad for such unethical behavior.  Holding a fair IPO in BTC (much more liquid than MSC) would not have been hard, if you think the purpose of this crap was anything other than profiteering, get real.

Although your thought process is clear to follow...  I am afraid you haven't considered several Market conditions.  If MaidSafe (or whomever for the matter) were to attempt to purchase the MSC accumulated through this IPO...  I am sure you agree that they would have NOT been able to purchase most "at around .08 BTC."  Can you imagine the MSC/BTC rates by the time they would be done buying?  As far as having "to defend MSC now"...  why do you exclude the possibility that they look forward to an increase in MSC valuation?  I mean...  think about it for a sec...  they obviously preferred to use the Master Protocol themselves!    Wink

The entire MSC marketcap as it stands today is at $22m.

The Maidsafe IPO raised around $6-$7 million.   In short 1/3rd of all MSC was used to acquire 10% of Maidsafe.

Certainly people who bought MSC just to aqcuire Maidsafe did well if they were succesful.

It may be possible that MSC increases in value after this since it does show it is possible to raise money via Mastercoin.   Also,  all the Maidsafe owners have to become familiar with Mastercoin.   So Mastercoin wins here in several different ways.

963  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ZenithCoin (ZTC) Market Making Sustainable Crypto Currency on: April 25, 2014, 03:57:59 PM

You and/or the devs are undeservingly holding MY 43+K ZTC contriFREAKINbution.

Let's say we call it a 'tax' as you seem to want to call it.  Once you paid your taxes,  then you don't own the taxes you paid.

Well,  the developers of ZTC thank you for your contribution.

Thanks!

.... Do you know why I think you are a moron.  It's because you have 86K ZTC and you do nothing but try to devalue the coin.

There are people who have spent a lot of time and money to get this coin to become profitable,  but you do nothing but try to discredit it.

You sir are indeed a complete loser.
964  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum, MaidSafe, NXT, anything else worth investing in, in 2014? on: April 25, 2014, 03:30:44 PM
2 days ago I was going to take a small position on Maidsafe, suddenly, they screwed things up with the IPO trough MSC and I decided not to buy in. Nevertheless, the idea is really interesting, maybe I would give them a second chance.

NXT is really promising for me. I think in this forum there is a non reasonable hate towards NXT: If the price goes up, they blame the initial distribution, if the price goes down they say NXT is dead. This is totally stupid. The IMPORTANT point is the tons of developments the devs of NXT are carry on at the moment and you can check at their forum. In 3-4 months time and if the devs continue the good work, NXT could make a killing in cryptoworld.

Finally, I should read more about Ethereum to make a wise decision.

Maidsafe didn't really screw up. They had more interest then they expected and the found a fair way to compensate people for the irregularities. The "I bought MSC and now I'm screwed" crowd has a small case, but they shouldn't take it too badly. MSC is just getting started and they are better off getting in now then in a years time.

I hadn't been fond of NXT as I'm more of a Mastercoin guy, but I'm going to give it a look along with Ethereum.

Ethereum will be interesting because it has a lot of backers.  However, Safecoin was the better investment since it was priced much cheaper than what Ethereum (they wanted to raise 35m for 10% .... correct me if I'm wrong here)... further,  there is a lot more technology behind safecoin that was built over 8 years.

Conceptually, Safecoin is also much better than Ethereum.   The Turing complete language in Ethereum really doesn't buy much if you really think about it.   Any coin can upgrade its features by adding new code.

There are two other coins that are in development that are not in this list.  One I am actively involved in and another that looks extremely promising.

Best of luck investing in IPOs... very promising.
965  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] IPO of MaidSafe:  Entering the Future of the Decentralized Internet on: April 25, 2014, 03:22:59 PM
Ok, so this is how this played out...

It is totally obvious to anyone following this that MaidSafe team trusted MasterCoin Foundation to set up their IPO for them (aka David Johnson of MasterCoin Foundation/BitAngels)

MSC was trading at around .08 BTC before this.

Why would David J of MSC foundation think that it's a fair way to run an IPO to give more than twice the ROI in MSAFE for MSC holders than for BTC holders?
obviously because he had a lot of MSC.

Then David J of MSC foundation acts surprised that most donations came through MasterCoin when they gave double the reward to MasterCoin.

Either David J of MSC foundation is a complete and total idiot for expecting that this would be a fair and smooth way to operate an IPO or he is a scammer/opportunist/profiteer.

Personally I don't think David J is that much of an idiot.

David J of MasterCoin Foundation SHOULD BE IN PRISON.  If you think this was above board, I have bridge to sell you.

All this is separate from the value of MaidSafe software.
MaidSafe has software that they worked on for a long time on, but I think monetizing it with a cryptocoin is new to them and they are obviously new to crypto and didn't see things that most people saw would be obvious.

Maidsafe has to defend MSC now because it is holding a ton of MSC... too bad for such unethical behavior.  Holding a fair IPO in BTC (much more liquid than MSC) would not have been hard, if you think the purpose of this crap was anything other than profiteering, get real.

It is normal for a VC to get favored treatment when equity is distributed to the public.  In this case, the mechanism of choice was MSC.

Is it criminal as you accuse?  No,  happens all the time in every public offerring,

You should grow up before you accuse people of crimes.   Is this fair?  No,  but that is just how these deals are struck in the real world.  Live with it!

soft/firmeware update ?

Dear all,

We are finishing to test the latest firmware internally, this took longer than expected because it will allow users to overclock/overvolt their systems and as such we had to make sure this won't affect the systems even on prolonged use.

We are quite confident that within the end of the week it will be released, this is the preliminary list of changes that have been done:

*) Fixed OpenSSL heartbleed vulnerability

*) Fixed web interface issues with Apple iOS-based safari browser

*) Fixed an issue with recent generations of One-Wire temperature sensors

*) Added thermal shutdown and automatic recovery

*) Added over/down-voltage ability both with basic preset settings and advanced settings, leading to an increased hashing rate.

*) Updated cgminer to latest version 4.3.0

*) Optimized cgminer's driver with up to 20% less CPU usage on Raspberry Pi system

*) Stepped back to diff-1 jobs so that HW errors will be detected earlier and the displayed hashing rate will be more consistent with the effective hashing rate

When it will be released, the new firmware will be linked here and also announced on our newsletter.

nice -> end of this week mean tomorrow 25.4. or sunday 26.4. ?

easy question,hello ?

Sunday.

Does this firmware upgrade work with AMT devices?   Where can we access this so that we can fix our broken AMT units?
967  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] IPO of MaidSafe:  Entering the Future of the Decentralized Internet on: April 25, 2014, 02:54:06 PM
As I'm late to the IPO, how can I still get involved?

Will safecoins be sold on an exchange?
https://masterxchange.com/market.php?currency=maid

I'm wondering how we can get maidsafe sold in a more conventional exchange .
968  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ZenithCoin (ZTC) Market Making Sustainable Crypto Currency on: April 25, 2014, 02:49:56 PM

What about YOUR responsibilities and obligations !?

We mined the tax trusting that you would follow through with your promises.

The only responsibility and obligation of a developer is to maintain the coin.

It is 10 months now since it has been released,  it still is alive.

If your expectations are more than this,  then I suggest you go out and sue every developer that you have mined a coin with.

If anybody is a douche bag, it would be you.  Nothing but constant whining.   If you want to be succesful in life, then I suggest you make real contributions and not expect entitlement.   Your only entitlement to ZTC are the coins you mined.  If you don't like them,  then go to an exchange and sell them.
969  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ZenithCoin (ZTC) Market Making Sustainable Crypto Currency on: April 25, 2014, 01:30:55 PM
looking to sell 50,000 ztc at .00007 btc each

Why don't you post your ask on an exchange?
970  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ZenithCoin (ZTC) Market Making Sustainable Crypto Currency on: April 25, 2014, 12:04:11 PM

Yup you made my decision easy though no one is buying so its hard to sell all my coinc

There is a major buyer at allcrypt.

Besides,  did I not send you around 2000 ZTC to distribute as giveaways to promote the coin?  Whatever happened to that giveaway?
971  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ZenithCoin (ZTC) Market Making Sustainable Crypto Currency on: April 25, 2014, 11:18:03 AM
Zenithcoin is now listed here: http://www.cryptocoinrank.com/Zenithcoin

Cheers

Where is the data coming from zenithcoin is not on any exchange

ZenithCoin now with a marketcap of $ 151,450

http://coinmarketcap.com/2.html

Current ZTC price is $ 0.042391

You, aka. solrax, have done little to nothing with regards to your promises and obligations made those of us who mined the 50% tax.

We demand just compensation.

The 50% subsidy was in public and known when you mined.  It is all in the blockchain.   So you have already been justly compensated for that effort when you received the coins.

To say you deserve more than you mined is ludicrous.   If you don't like the coin, then I suggest you sell while its at its all time high.

BTW, as an update, the new owner has removed the development subsidy, so miners now receive 100% of the coin.

Latest explore.zenithcoin.com information is showing a rise in difficulty.

AllCrypt posted above that it's on Allcrypt now.
I believe I also saw it on Cryptoczar.

Thanks for the information!

Cryptoczar is one of the more promising exchanges out there!   Finally a Market Making facility.

Also, it is registered with Fincen and is NYC based.

AllCrypt is based in Baltimore.

These are two legit exchanges.

NXT made way way more ROI than master coin

That's why you should invest in NEX.
976  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] IPO of MaidSafe:  Entering the Future of the Decentralized Internet on: April 24, 2014, 06:23:45 PM
I participated in the IPO and can see my Bitcoins in the Google Spread sheet and apparently there will be some conversion script to convert my BTC to (MasterCoin/SafeCoin).  I used Hive to send from and now realizing I can not export my private key - not sure but I think I am screwed on getting my SafeCoin because of that.  The instructions from MaidSafe/MSC are a bit obscure on detail on now to claim your new coin.  Can someone please put together a video or set of instructions for Investors.

Thank You

I will have to agree that it was a bit complicated for the average user.

I've never used Mastercoin before, so I don't have an idea of how I'll receive my Maidsafe coins.

I am guessing that you download a mastercoin wallet,  import the private key and then you should see your Maidsafe coins?
977  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] IPO of MaidSafe:  Entering the Future of the Decentralized Internet on: April 24, 2014, 06:16:39 PM
Do you need to own safecoin to use maidsafe technology?

Like Bitcoin, you can farm (i.e. mine) for it.

High time to start selling some high-end 'farmers'.

Anyone working on a 'pool' for farmers?
978  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] IPO of MaidSafe:  Entering the Future of the Decentralized Internet on: April 24, 2014, 06:09:23 PM
Geez guys. It's not like you didn't have some warning the crowdsale was ending soon. I'm sure there is a reasonable explanation for the blockchain numbers. Chill out.

In other news, look at that order book fill up!: https://masterxchange.com/market.php?currency=maid

Woah!  At those prices... people who got into the IPO are now ridiculously wealthy!!!!
979  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] IPO of MaidSafe:  Entering the Future of the Decentralized Internet on: April 24, 2014, 05:41:48 PM
In one moment it was saying that 400 BTC were still missing in the other its over?

So its over now, not possible to buy from the exodus anymore?

Thank you for participating in this crowd sale.
The BTC part of the sale is now complete.
Please note that any BTC sent from this point on will now be refunded.

http://www.safecoin.io/
cheers!
maidsafe

There are still some 300 BTC left? Or what?

Looks like offer is over.

PM me with offers to buy Maidsafe coins.   Minimum bid 8500 MSAFE per BTC.
980  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: New Official AMT Thread on: April 24, 2014, 04:44:35 PM
AMT_miners, can you explain what is going on? I shipped this 48lb 1.2T miner back to you but you are not there??? You are no longer at this address?

Not even one single employee at the place during business hours?

I shipped to the same address the package was sent from:

Jim Brown
AMT Orders Dep.
355 Lancaster Ave, Bldg E1,
Haverford, PA 19041

Let me know if you have success.  I got a couple of bad boards that need to be returned.

Is it 48lbs?   I got the DIY with a power supply and AMT claimed that it was 10lbs.  No wonder the package came in damaged.
