I only post here because I'm surprised that the progress went back to 0 when I visited the casino by clicking the signature space of one of the participants here.

Even now that I'm writing this post, the site is still under construction and the progress is at zero, does the progress at 0% mean that the coders haven't started work yet?

I know we're nitpicking here, but I think you're both wrong. If you look more closely, you'll notice that the progress bar is actually at 99%, not 0%. There is a thin gray section that separates the white line from the end of the progress bar. When it is at 100%, the entire progress bar line will be white.

I even went Sherlock on this one and checked the CSS style responsible for it in the code, just to be sure of what I'm saying!  Wink

Code: (view-source:https://www.l0tt0.com/css/style.css)
.under-progress-value{
    width: 99%;
    height: 8px;
    background: var(--primary-60, #FFFACD);

962  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 04, 2023, 07:21:07 PM
Here are some names of players who have reached an agreement with their new club but there is still no official announcement. I think these are some important signings for top European teams, especially from Manchester United with Rasmus Hojlund, PSG with Dembele or even Manchester City's most expensive defender in history, namely Josko Gvardiol. Apart from that, there is Frank Kessie who will eventually join a Saudi league team and there is also the Milan city duo who are also adding more ammunition to their players. But what makes me a little surprised is about the Chelsea transfer, which prefers a reserve keeper from Brighton to strengthen its squad next season and the cost is also quite expensive for a goalkeeper, which is £25m according to Fabrizio Romano's sources.

Pep Guardiola confirmed in today's press conference that Gvardiol was undergoing a medical with Manchester City. The fee agreed with RB Leipzig for the defender is understood to be €90m:

963  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: My new favorite betting method. on: August 04, 2023, 06:44:44 PM
My method: At the end of the run you double up the total betting amount, let's say you bet a total of $50 in 100 bets and win in the last one, you get back $100.

That's why is an enormous difference between my method and martingale, they are totally different in the long run. And even if its a variance of Martingale, I feel this method deserve it's own name.

Yes, but with your method, if you start with a $2 bet, by the 100th bet, you will already be wagering over $5000. So, either you have to have a significant amount in your account, or you have to start with a very low initial bet. Basically the same as the martingale strategy.
964  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A person who won 600k$ in lottery on: August 04, 2023, 06:20:08 PM
If I won big in the lottery, I would definitely stop playing the lottery, because winning big in the lottery is unlikely. $600k is enough to buy a few properties that can be rented out and live on that money for the rest of your life.

Of course, securing your financial future with such a score is a smart move. However, such an amount doesn't hold the same value everywhere in the world. Depending on your location, it might not be enough for even one decent property, let alone several for future investments. If I were the lucky winner of $600k in the lottery, I'd probably use some of it to fix up the property I currently own and invest the rest in my own business to ensure a stable financial future.
965  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading tokens or coins, which one is better or gives more profits? on: August 04, 2023, 06:03:53 PM
Tokens are much easier to create because they do not require programming knowledge. There are step-by-step tutorials that you can follow to create your own token in literally 5 minutes without any advanced skills, and the process consumes almost no resources. On the other hand, coins with their own blockchain require a significant investment of time, expertise, and resources (unless it is a complete clone of an existing coin). Developing a new cryptocurrency from scratch involves creating a unique blockchain and wallet software, which requires coding skills and a deep understanding of blockchain technology. For this very reason, you will find many more different tokens on the market than coins.

However, this doesn't hold much weight when it comes to the profitability of trading or investing. You can equally find examples that support either side of the argument.

In my personal opinion, coins with their own blockchain may have better prospects for the future because they usually have a team of developers supporting them. On the other hand, there are numerous examples of strong price jumps for some tokens, especially when we consider that there were projects that started with a token and later migrated to their own blockchain.
966  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: $20M stolen by "Zero Transfer Scam" phishing trick on: August 04, 2023, 02:01:47 PM
What a crazy amount of money but wait how the scammer can generate the same first later and last letter of the address as far as I know that generating specific thing like this need time and consume computing power unit.

Check out the benchmark results of high-performance, GPU-powered vanity address generators for Ethereum, like, for example, "profanity."

According to these results, it can generate a vanity address that matches eight characters in less than 30 seconds on almost any decent GPU. And if you have a GPU mining rig, I assume that the required time is even less, making it possible to generate such an address in a matter of seconds.

and secondly what happened now are the phising account already move the usdt?

CZ has already tweeted that the funds are now frozen (thanks to the "benefits" of a centralized currency such as USDT).

Quote
Positive ending for this one. The operator noticed the error right after the transaction, and we were able to request the USDT to be frozen in time. It will now take some process, including filing a police report, to reclaim the funds back. But at least, the funds won't leave with the scammers.

967  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: BC.GAME Laundering Money via Thailand Bank accounts, Taking legal actions. on: August 04, 2023, 01:42:18 PM
Yes, we taking legal actions against them in Thailand with DSI, you can look at other users reviews in bitcointalk and other sites in last time and think what's going on now in these website, they just locking an accounts, taking the funds, so we decide to make an investigation under bc.game, they launder a money in Thailand where gambling is forbidden, and you can go to jail for 50 years, they bought these bank accounts from poor peoples and launder money against them.

Well, best of luck with your legal actions against them with the DSI in Thailand! As for the discussion on the bitcointalk.org forum, it'd be great if you could share more details and make your case more meaningful. Can you explain to us what those numbers listed on the handwritten papers mean? Also, your screenshots of the chat messages don't follow the actual events and seem taken out of context, making it hard to tell what the problem actually was. I think we can all agree that it is important to have clear information and facts to back up any claims, especially when it involves serious allegations. So, why not try to keep us better informed and make sure you've got the evidence to back it up?
968  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: A Feature in electrum wallet on: August 04, 2023, 12:43:14 PM
Since you guys suggested it, do you believe it is worth doing some work to switch the OS just because of the security reason? I heard Linux users can be targeted as well if a user is an average Joe.

"Just because of the security reasons?" Well, for many people, that's the only reason strong enough to take the plunge and migrate to a Linux OS. But I suppose it ultimately depends on each individual's preferences and priorities. I think it all comes down to what you mainly use your computer for. If it's mainly for internet stuff, multimedia, and basic office tasks like text editing, transitioning to the new OS shouldn't be too challenging. However, if you're into gaming, heavy graphics work, CAD, video editing, or 3D design, you might face some difficulties with Linux. Many popular apps, such as Adobe's graphics and video editing tools, aren't yet available in Linux versions, making it a bit of a struggle for those specific needs.

As Cricktor suggested, getting a second device solely for a Linux system might be a good solution. However, if your budget is limited, you can also consider setting up your PC in dual OS mode. This way, you'll have the flexibility of running both operating systems on the same machine and selecting which one to boot every time you start it up. Additionally, you can explore virtual PC software, which enables you to run one OS "inside" another OS, giving you more options to experiment and explore Linux without fully committing to it.
969  Economy / Speculation / Re: Should we rely on prediction? on: August 04, 2023, 11:10:03 AM
No, you shouldn't rely solely on predictions. We all know how unpredictable things can get in the crypto world! However, you can still make use of such predictions, especially when they come from reliable sources, to get a general impression of the market's trends and potential directions. Personally, I enjoy reading these predictions at times. They often contain bits of information that I wouldn't have known otherwise, and that can assist me in making better decisions. Of course, it all comes down to the information available to you, and as always, you should do your own research to make informed choices.
970  Other / Meta / Re: Search function stuck in pre 2020? on: August 04, 2023, 09:14:58 AM
Am I wrong in assuming that it's either difficult or a pain in the ass to create a functional internal search engine?

Nah, you're not wrong at all! Creating a functional internal search engine can indeed be a real pain in the ass, especially when you're dealing with a large amount of text data to search, just like in the case of this forum.

I bet TryNinja can give you a much better explanation and shed light on the issues he encountered, which eventually led them to implement an Elasticsearch search engine. While ninjastic.space does a great job at searching posts, the catch is that it only works with archived (original) posts, not the real-time forum database.
971  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Dedicated block space for minimum fee transactions on: August 04, 2023, 08:35:30 AM
So that being said, is there anyway that each new block could hold very small amount of space dedicated to minimum fee transactions which can become frozen? It would kind of be like welfare. Sure the amount of space would be really small, but should be enough to send 5-10 transactions on each new block first, then prioritized paid transactions next. 5-10 transactions isn’t a lot, and it would still have very long wait times, however it removes the chance that transactions like mine won’t ever freeze indefinitely with no hope of being returned which is a step in the right direction.

Even if your proposal were accepted, it still wouldn't actually solve the problem you claim to have faced. (Which, in reality, seems more like a lack of knowledge on your part, as other members have already explained).

Now, let's assume a scenario where there's a block space specifically reserved for low-to-no-fee transactions. What happens when the number of such transactions exceeds the available block space? And how does that differ from the current situation we have?
972  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A person who won 600k$ in lottery on: August 04, 2023, 07:47:03 AM
I've been saying this like a thousand times already: money isn't the real issue here; it's the folks who don't know how to handle it properly! Seriously, if people had a better grasp on managing their finances, things would be so much smoother.

I think the real problem from the start lies in the fact that a bunch of folks, who lack self-control and financial know-how, are the ones playing the lottery and buying most of the tickets. And let's face it, things take a wild turn when these same individuals end up winning big bucks they have no clue how to handle. It's a whole new ballgame then!
973  Economy / Reputation / Re: Banned Accounts and their Merit Status. on: August 03, 2023, 06:09:56 PM
I know for sure merits are formed possibly through minting or other likely processes which requires it to be easily integrated here for easy access by members.

You're comparing merits to some kind of cryptocurrency, which is not true. "Merits" are just arbitrary data in the forum database. They do not have a fixed supply nor do they have to be minted. There is no point in extracting merits from banned accounts because new amounts of merit will be allocated to merit sources every month anyway.
974  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Automatic sending of payment to specific address on: August 03, 2023, 03:29:17 PM
<cut>
My post is pointing that the suggestions to automatically use wallet-related commands still requires his wallet to be open.

Well, that depends on how we define a program as "open." In the first reply in this thread, mocacinno already mentioned that Electrum software can be run as a daemon, which means it runs as a background process. In this setup, you have access to all its CLI commands, and you can easily create scripts to perform specific actions at specified times.
975  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do wager affect outcomes in any provably fair games on: August 03, 2023, 02:12:52 PM
I noticed that when I start to play games like keno, limbo, dice, etc. First some bets don't hit and after wagering some percentage of my balance it starts to hit,
How it works? like when we wager we have more probability to hit win, anyone noticed this? Do you know how it works and what is the calculation behind it?, do server sends outcomes by checking our wager?
Each game is design of course to give advantage to the house so expect losing first before small recovery , not unless you are the lucky one that wins comes easily such time.
and don't look straight to that Provably fair because that is not completely happening when we are dealing in those sites.
I think that a provably fair game should be fairly player neutral.  This is precisely the whole essence of provable honesty algorithms in general.

However, of course, sometimes, by claiming that there is provable fairness in a particular game, an unscrupulous and dishonest casino may well use such a claim as a bait for players who think that they have the same chances to win as the casino.  Although in fact this mechanism is used a little cunningly and it is extremely difficult to prove that there is a small deviation from equally probable events.  So you should still treat provable honesty more like an advertising slogan than a real provision of equal chances to win.
 In my opinion, this is how it works.

Exactly! The concept of provably fair algorithms is indeed intended to ensure fairness and neutrality for players. However, it is true that some unscrupulous casinos may use this idea as a marketing tactic to trick players into thinking they have the same chance of winning as the casino. We have already seen examples of casinos that either did not apply provably fair algorithms even though they claimed they do, or applied them in a wrong way so that they still enabled the manipulation of results on their part.

Proving the authenticity and effectiveness of provably fair algorithms can sometimes be a real challenge. Especially for the vast majority of gamblers who do not have the necessary skills or knowledge for such a thing. It's all about transparency, and good casinos should give clear info on how they ensure fairness. Independent audits and third-party certifications also help build trust with players.

sorry for the delay..
i'm almost there. i will give a more detailed update later tonight.

I eagerly await to see what you come up with! I hope it's worth the wait. Oh, and I really hope those decisions you made turn out to be right and pay off in the end.
If I were in your shoes, though, I'd probably go for a different route. But hey, let's see how it all plays out!
977  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Possible measures to stop online gambling addiction. on: August 03, 2023, 12:51:52 PM
The only way to stop online gambling is, you must have strong self-control and strong desire. An alternative is to find a high-paying job. Most gamblers are playing because of profit. They want a higher income, more money. High paying job could fulfill that, not just that, a high-paying job will surely keep you busy. For me, these two is the most effective way to stop gambling but it still depends on someone's behavior.

I am not sure that finding a high-paying job can be an alternative here, some people will just gamble even more. People can replace gambling with many other activities, but before finding an alternative people need to wish for some changes first. If someone doesn't wish to change their gambling habit nothing can help I am afraid.

So there's only one possible measure, a real wish for something other than gambling... instead of spending your money in a casino spend it on something else. Simple as that.

Yes. I think that everyone's situation is different and depends on the individual and the circumstances they find themselves in. I agree that many (most) gamblers are attracted by the potential for easy money, and I believe that individuals who struggle with their financials are generally more susceptible to falling into the trap of gambling addiction, but that's not the only reason imho.
For example, to escape from everyday monotony or stress, to experience the thrill of risk-taking, or even as a way to cope with some psychological issues. So there can be various underlying factors driving someone towards gambling.
978  Other / Meta / Re: [SUGGESTION] Multiple Users Self-Moderating A Thread. on: August 03, 2023, 10:32:58 AM
I don't think it makes sense to introduce such new features to the current version of the forum software, at least as long as the new forum software, EpochTalk, is still on the roadmap (Is it really? I hope it is.) Such a feature would only bring new confusion and a bunch of unknowns for the community, and it's better for the admins to focus on implementing EpochTalk smoothly and ensuring a seamless transition for users.
Once EpochTalk is fully integrated and proven to be stable, we can revisit the idea of introducing new features to enhance the forum experience.

May be there should be a notification in between that you are just XYZ Satoshi away from getting your GT and also show the accumulated GT, RP, Lottery at the corner on multiplier window.

Though we are following same old theme since many years now I highly doubt they would upgrade it. Sometimes they are too attached Smiley

FreeBitco.in doesn't have to completely overhaul their theme just to add notifications or counters. From what I've seen, the website occasionally receives updates with new stuff and added features. Not long ago, I noticed adjustments to the main menu, where they reorganized some items. Who knows, they might consider implementing some of these suggestions in the future!
980  Other / Meta / Re: re: "how to earn merit" topics on: August 01, 2023, 03:31:16 PM
We all make different mistakes that others may find funny. But constantly making fun of newcomers because they have not yet settled in and have not learned to behave as expected, this is not very friendly.

I don't know about you, but if I find myself in a new social setting and I'm not entirely sure how to behave or fit in, I usually prefer to take a step back and just observe for a while. Once I feel more comfortable and understand the group dynamics better, I'll naturally start to participate more actively.

In my opinion, opening threads just to make fun of newbies makes less sense than newbies trying to learn how to use the forum through building their own guides.

I think the point here is that these members are not really newbies, but their methods and tactics to achieve their goal are so obvious.
