9624  Economy / Speculation / Re: BREAKING NEWS: Bitstamp Halts Bitcoin & Ripple Withdrawals ! on: February 20, 2014, 06:41:01 PM
I AM SO SICK OF THIS, BITCOIN IS FUCKING DEAD AND THE FOUNDATION IS JUST DOING NOTHING!

LOL. Bitcoin is working fine.

Centralized exchanges... not so much.

Apparently the bridge between Bitcoin and fiat is very difficult to build.

Oh yes it is very. But indeed it is on it's way Smiley Builders are working 24/7/365
9625  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is this for real? on: February 20, 2014, 06:40:03 PM
WTF is going on? if your computer has been compromised then a quick email isn't really going to solve anything...

I disagree - if your computer's compromised and you withdraw your BTC, you could lose them.

I for one appreciate the warning - gives you the chance to do multiple virus scans, check for key loggers & create a new wallet with a new password before you withdraw.

Indeed! That's why I don't know what OP have on his mind Smiley but he just want to say "BitS...." is bad Smiley and maybe he is right. Maybe not.
This e-mail seems to be very normal... nothing special..
9626  Economy / Speculation / Re: What will the price of BTC on Mt. Gox be tommorow? on: February 20, 2014, 06:37:35 PM

9629  Economy / Marketplace / Re: A lesson in arbitrage on: February 20, 2014, 06:34:29 PM
Market is reasonably efficient these days for all the popular coins.

It isn't easy to do arbitrage without taking huge risk.

The btc price difference between mtgox and the rest of the exchanges. Do you have the stomach to send mtgox fiat to buy btc and hoping they can resolve whatever problems they are having right now?

Indeed Smiley there is always a risk where the profit is.

Hi Friends;

It is about 2 weeks since I knew BitCoin, since then I am frantically reading about it.

I am primarily interested in mining scrypt coins.
I have skills in electronics PCB designing & routing, in hardware mounting and 25 years of expertise as programmer, and 10 years of expertise as trader in the stocks markets.
I am still studying robotic engineering in UFRGS (the best university in Brasil according of various ranks), where I work as volunteer.
I speak Português, Español and English.

And off topic, I am interested in motorcycles.

Best Regards For All  Cheesy

Hello... welcome @Bitcointalk.org !

9632  Economy / Services / Re: Seeking website sponsor on: February 20, 2014, 06:24:42 PM
Im looking for a company to sponsor my websites in my signature. Total traffic is around 2-3k visits per day.

you need to work hard on it and for now it's getting better - and put donate buttons on your pages.

Why I don't see any "donate" there?

9633  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New Virus Sweeping the Net PLAY IT SAFE!! on: February 20, 2014, 06:22:47 PM
Hi all
Encase you have not heard there is a new very deadly virus out, when your computer gets infected your files are encrypted with military grade encryption, there is no way to break it & you are held for ransom + if you do not pay within 3 days they delete the key and your files are lost forever, the virus is called crytolocker & it is not a joke i have seen it in action, stay safe make a system restore point, back up your files to an external drive and disconnect it, more info here : http://www.today.com/money/nasty-new-malware-locks-your-files-forever-unless-you-pay-8C11511655

Hmm... so like what? Smiley it is impossible to block my files Cheesy there are so many ways to get data from a disk..

Smiley anyway better be careful. Firewall + antivirus (I recommend AVG)
9634  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: I'm thinking of starting a Bitcoin grocery delivery service on: February 20, 2014, 06:20:12 PM
I'm based out of Sarasota, FL.  but we could start a company where we can hire employees in various cities to go grocery shopping for people and deliver them.  Anyone interested in this idea?

I am so sad that I don't live in your area and even in your country, but your idea is GREAT!

I hope you will find people to do that!

Wish you all best!

Bitcoin support is always welcome!
9635  Economy / Marketplace / Re: A lesson in arbitrage on: February 20, 2014, 06:17:43 PM
I'm sure that many of the users here already know about this, but just in case.

http://thedailycrypto.com/economics/lesson-on-arbitrage/

Did you know about arbitrage already?

It is true, that you can do it. Just always calculate all fees etc... sometimes is worthless.
and you can only do it if exchange is working well - I mean - fast deposit and withdraw
9636  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Just found not bad article :) on: February 20, 2014, 06:01:03 PM

as we can read:
"Move over cash, credit, and debit cards ... there's a new payment method available. It's called Bitcoin--a virtual and digital version of cash that's emerging as a global payment platform that can be used through smart phones, tablets, and other devices. Bitcoin, which is a product of open source intelligence using peer-to-peer technology to operate with no central authority or banks, has the potential to change how millions of people around the world conduct their business.

Looking to buy some tickets to a Sacramento Kings game? You can buy them with Bitcoin. Ready to reserve your seat on Branson's Virgin Galactic flight to space? They accept Bitcoin. How about pay your tuition to St. George's University of London? Bitcoin is legal tender there too. In fact, the first day Bitcoin launched, sales totaled $126,000 (U.S.). Even Amazon and Google are considering adding Bitcoin as a payment option.

The Bank Security Act regulations in this case are intended to prevent transactions through anonymous accounts--think money laundering. However, the Bank Security Act does allow users of virtual currencies such as Bitcoin to buy and sell goods and services. Recently, officials within the United States Treasury and Justice Departments have now recognized the virtual currency as legitimate and financially viable. However, the U.S. government is not accepting Bitcoin for tax or other payments. To solve that problem, a company called SnapCard has come up with a payment system where Bitcoins can be used to pay the IRS.

What makes Bitcoin unique is that there's a record as to who possesses it, and there's a network that records transactions. Additionally, there is no way to increase the number of Bitcoins in existence, which is not the case in other currencies, like the U.S. currency, which the treasury can just print more if needed.

The value of a Bitcoin does fluctuate with the markets. So if you're thinking of investing in Bitcoins, you want to do the same thing you do with a stock, which is to buy low and sell high. But remember, all currencies fluctuate in value on a daily basis, so that's not unique to Bitcoin.

A key breakthrough with the use of Bitcoin will be if and when traditional banks decide to accept it.

Will Bitcoin be around for a long time? That's hard to say because Bitcoin's future represents a soft trend--it is not a sure thing. But the idea of a digital virtual currency that is the closest thing to cash becoming part of our everyday reality in the near future represents a Hard TrendTM--it will happen.

So the next time you're ready to make a purchase online, don't be surprised if you see a Bitcoin option for payment. Digital currency as a long-term Hard Trend is a game changer and thanks to the introduction of Bitcoin, the trend is now in motion.

What are your thoughts about Bitcoin and the use of digital currency? Would you use it? Leave your comments below.

I will say Smiley Bitcoin will stay with us as long as crypto currencies will.

9638  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: How to make a webservice wallet? on: February 20, 2014, 05:17:47 PM
Why do you need/want to make a new wallet? There's enough wallets that do work well.

and to make another one working well you need more skills Smiley asking here how to do it ... seems like not pro Cheesy

and developing a wallet needs a PRO Smiley or ! learn !

9640  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What Should I Do? on: February 20, 2014, 05:03:10 PM
Serious?

You must like wasting time, and you have about the biggest blinders in the world on. How have you not seen that bitcoin mining with a GPU is totally pointless, for a long time now?

You are loosing money right now, there is no doubt.

Advice? Learn troubleshoot with information you find on your own. If you can't do that, you will have a terrible time with mining.

Indeed looks like a big mistake as for mining BTC ... better change hardware or coin ...
