9701  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: May 3rd to May 14th diff thread. Picks are now closed! on: May 13, 2015, 11:00:58 PM
Price appears to be taking a nose dive.  Were around 335.    Seems like we are not able to keep 240 for long.

Hopefully it goes back up, guess we will see.
9702  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: 0 electricity and ISP costs, large facility paid for. Is mining still lucrative? on: May 13, 2015, 10:59:09 PM
I suggest locking thread.  Its down at bottom left I believe.

You already have a topic about this here - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1059891.msg11368971#msg11368971
9703  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Start Mining with 2500$ Budget. on: May 13, 2015, 10:58:17 PM
@notlist3d give you a good points to look after.

Also the 650 kw will finish after about 4-5 days if you have 20 S3+. So your real power price will be 9 cent not 7 cents.

Also you need to buy some server PSU with breakout boards to fire up the miners.

I suggest you to look on local market for used gears may be you will find some , I know it is hard to find any used gears on the local market on eqypt but go ahead and give it a shot.

Actually there's no Egyptian Markets for Miners as far as i know, and about the power price i can link up with people who generate electricity directly to buy in 4.5-5 cents in USD but i should buy converters and batteries in order to start using them power.

Electricity, Noise and much heat isn't a big issue where i live friends.

With no local market it might make it a little harder.  It appears you will have to pay the 10 percent import tax.

In the tight margin mining game today that actually could make a difference.  I would try 1 or 2 depending on model and see how you do.  Electricity is ok but not "cheap" so it's going to be a little harder on ROI.
9704  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Review] Avalon 4.1 Miner- Summer Mining - Notlist3d on: May 13, 2015, 10:48:57 PM
bah just noticed there is an actual group buy subform...moved post to

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1059712

ill update that thread with all interested members

Best of luck with the group buy.  I hope it works out.  They really are very very high quality miners.   And I cant say enough about their operating with very little sound.
9705  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Does anybody actually bought Hashcoins Uranus 6000Ghs Miner ? on: May 13, 2015, 10:44:50 PM
I hope they are not a scam. Chances are 50\50 now Smiley

I will visit their office as soon as they actually have it in stock before I buy any Smiley

I think chances are higher then 50/50 on scam.  If it is not scam they are just waiting on chips not doing anyting till someone makes chips they can buy.

Alot of the people "buying" have been   low activity accounts.  So we really don't know if they ordered for sure.  They could be shills.
9706  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Help Me Earn A Job :) on: May 13, 2015, 10:38:05 AM
$500/week? my friend, in my country is 1000$/month average salary and more then 65% don't even have this. I dunno where are you from but 500$ for delivering some meals from point A to point B in town seems really great salary for me..

for 2k$ (you had this in month) there are in my place jobs like sys/network admins..where you need some other skills then driving a car.

Food services can be surprising nice pay.   It is all about the tips though.  OP you might look into going into a restaurant instead of pizza place.

I had a fried who worked in a not super fancy, but a nice restaurant.  He had the job through part of high school and through part of college.  When he went to be starting as a hospital he actually took a loss (Don't know position he was getting nurse degree was something helping nurse but no degree required).  I was always amazed but he worked there so long he got to pick best days/hours.   He made surprising amount of cash.

Your other option learn a skill or trade.  It will take time and effort but will pay off in the end.

To get 500 a week in crypto is just a lot to ask for without a investment.
9707  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Start Mining with 2500$ Budget. on: May 13, 2015, 10:29:47 AM
- As i know you have to pay import fees to eqyptian custom.
YES, i pay 10% as customs fees.

-Give us the exact price you pay for power and how much power you can have
Exact power cost is 0.07$ per KW Limited to 650 KW and 0.09$ per KW for more than 650 KW usage.

i already searched S3+ Miners and found it around 100$,
so according the budget it allows me to buy 20 S3+ ( 450GH x 20 = 9000 GH )    [ that's awesome ]
but let me ask you do i need 20 PSU to run it and how much each PSU ?

S3+ Miner is 13 pounds and costs 100$ as used one.
so it costs me 10$ as customs fees and 83$ to ship it here to EGYPT.. Sad

any advices ?

First start smaller.  Don't jump to 20 machines.   You are dealing with a lot of heat and electricity with 20 machines.

As far as custom's i don't suggest trying to doge them, I know some will.  But no honest reseller will do that.   Shipping only way you can get around is if you find a local one.  I don't know Egypt market, but check Craigslist and other places like that.

I would suggest you look into hosting providers.  I know you won't like that anwser.  But with that shipping and tax I suggest looking if it's cheaper to ship to a hosting facility.
9708  Other / Meta / Re: LOCAL section on: May 13, 2015, 09:04:23 AM
How can i add my language to local section ?
What language do you want to add? If it `s not a secret?

I also don't understand why it was treated like a secret.

To get it added OP needs to post what it is chances are in Meta, and need enough people to justify adding it.

I don't know odd's of getting a entire new thread for OP's local.
9709  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: About anonymity for Newbies on: May 13, 2015, 09:02:31 AM
I always used mixers. Thank's to your website - I mixed 10 btc
Thank you!

Shill?! Post transaction ID of the bitcoins you sent to this mixer here.

We ask for evidence of "new coins".... and we get a low level account.   I was born a day but it was not yesterday....

Just provide us evidence of the "new coins" you advertised and you can make everyone happy OP.
9710  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Noob here, allow me to display my ignorance on: May 13, 2015, 08:59:13 AM
Got my first miner today, got it online and running, but have some questions.  It's an AMT-1200 and I can't find much info on it.  Config page has Freq Mod 1-5 which looks like where I can set the speeds of the processors, but then there is a "diff" selection with 4, 16, 32, 37, 52, 86...1024.  Can someone explain that setting to me?

Please post the screen shot of the setting page, i also don't have this unit. Most of AMT thread fill by accusation, i hardly find information regarding AMT-1200.

If OP tells us what pool he is using we can judge if "diff" matters.  I highly suspect it will not make a difference, but again the 512 or 1024 can be set to be safe.

And you will look all day for info about them.  AMT really just did not care is what it amounted to.

Do i read contest right will it be a week to judge? Or is it just being safe putting it at a week?    "All the results will be published within a week after the contest ended and the rewards will be sent together."
9712  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: SFARDS: “Speaking IMHO”- The Best Miner is…contest, 1 BTC for winner! on: May 13, 2015, 08:51:43 AM
ever crossed in your mind that we could mine bitcoin with electricity generated from cow dung ?.
miner would be very profitable because the cost of electricity would have been covered by this biogas power plant . that so the problem is the making of this biogas power plant should have a large area, meaning that it is not ethical if it has oversized miner . but quiet I had a brilliant idea . we can put electricity result of cow dung into a portable container . which chargeable it means we can fill the electricity once 12 hours or maybe 24 hours.

I have to say as someone who lives on a farm this is a interesting idea.  It's pretty crazy though cattle are EXPENSIVE.  You could buy a solar panel for less then most good cattle.  And yes.. yes that is crazy but it's true.  Add in land for them, again a HUGE cost.    It's a neat idea but you could do a solar farm for less.  And the costs keep coming get pricing for a fence for X acers.  Food for cattle.... It seems like it goes on and on on costs.  Unless your family was in it and you get lucky and inherent as many do the start up cost will keep most out of the cattle business.

I do like the idea though.  Neat idea, just cost is way to expensive even before including special equipment needed to do the power system.

Looks like 430 WITH shipping to US is best price I can get out of them. Wanted to get it to under 400 to make it worth it, considering you can get a single S5 shipped for 390...

But you will need to mod the S5 heavily (and still I don't think you will get as quiet).  They are full metal cases aswell.  So add in factors such as this in price.

They are really two very different miners.   430 is pretty darn good considering you just asked them, and it's a rather small group buy at 40.  If you had the 80 they mention in stock, or even 100 interested it would effect price.  But unless you can reach those levels 430 is a deal as far as the Avalon 4.1's compared to past pricing.
9714  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER C1 Discussion and Support Thread on: May 13, 2015, 08:44:17 AM
I had a couple extra sets of these, and they work great:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007RESFYK/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Corsair Air Series SP120 High Performance Edition Twin Pack Fan (CO-9050008-WW)

Most of the ones I used were very cheap or free after rebate fans.  They worked fine as long as noise is not a issue.

SP120s are overkill for a C1, especially for back side fans. I also used cheap and cheap fans on the back side and it really reduced temperatures. That unit was being fed very warm air in though so those with normal ambient might not see any drop.

I feel good that I'm not alone then on having good luck with just regular fan's.

Tiger direct use to do free fans after rebate all the time.  I did that and risked some cash, but eventually got rebates.   It's a YMMV thing, but it's paid off having just some cheap fans when I need it.

Honestly as someone who has owned miners in the past I'd advise you against it.
They are loud, they produce heat which must be vented and they vibrate and flash like crazy.
Not to mention you'll have to consider cost of keeping them cool and electricity and whatnot.

What type of graphics card do you have? If you have an Nvidia based card maybe try out mining Credits.
Atleast this way you aren't wasting a bunch of money on expensive ASIC gear but still get to mine something.

Actually i'm looking forward to test it as well,
if it pays good as 400$ monthly, i'll go with it for a while then start grouping friends to build a good Mining Farm.

Personally I love mining.  It's a fun hobby.

But as far as building a "mining farm" you will be far away from it unless you have a good amount set aside.  Once you feel the heat, noise, etc. And most of all massive amount of electricity.    You can sure build a mini farm, but you will never reach it like big corporations unless you just had a fortune to spend.

Your electricity is ok.  Its good no vat/tax as it can kill any chance of roi.

You would stand a chance.  As Erik mentioned difficulty will effect it.  I suggest doing some ROI math I personally like - https://bitcoinwisdom.com/bitcoin/calculator

Were talking 171 days to get money back if you have no difficulty change, and don't have electricity.  With electricity and zero difficulty change you will take around 323 days to get money back.

So take that as broad anwser.  Difficulty will change it alot.

Actually i don't understand the Difficulty very much but i'm using this calculator : https://alloscomp.com/bitcoin/calculator

which says that if i used 2x S4+ Miners ( 5140 GH ) with Exchange Rate of 243.68$ would make about $402.42 per month without the electricity cost.

please explain how will the Difficulty effect my earnings and if it increase, how much would the 2 S4+ miners make make month.

I reworded my anwser a little bit I did not like how it came out at first.   Price of BTC changes it aswell I was using current which is around 240 (I hope it goes up but it's not possible to predict price a few months or year out).

Difficulty will directly effect your mining.  If difficulty goes up 2 percent that means you would make 98 percent of what you made during previous dificullty it stacks.  With time it goes up, no one knows what rate will be for sure.  They call it "speculation" on guessing difficulty.

Look here for a reference on difficulty - https://bitcoinwisdom.com/bitcoin/difficulty .  It makes a guess at next change, but most importantly scroll to bottom it shows previous changes.
9717  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Start Mining with 2500$ Budget. on: May 13, 2015, 06:41:57 AM
With $0.09/Kwh having 2 S4+ miners would earn about $200/month with electricity costs included.

And don't forget about difficulty increases Smiley

i have people who can produce energy directly, it will save about 100$ according your calculations as i'm paying 50% of the official government price.

so the point is ..
dose it worth to start mining Bitcoin ?

The point is you need to decide that Smiley.   I provided a calculator that is a great tool.  Plug in some numbers and see if with new electricity price what it is.  Nobody can tell you what your your ROI in day's should be, it really is a personal decisions.  It no longer is 90 day ROI.

Cutting electricity in half would put you between the two day's i mentioned as a general reference if there was zero difficulty increase (which will not happen).

I currently am mining in summer,  I can tell you it's a harder game then winter mining.  But compared to GPU summer mining, asics make it a lot easier then it was.
9718  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Review] Avalon 4.1 Miner- Summer Mining - Notlist3d on: May 13, 2015, 06:35:50 AM
The whole point of a group buy would be to do a drop ship in the US and distribute from here, otherwise they will still charge .5 btc shipping per. Shipping in the US will cost around $10 a unit.

Normally the point is price per unit to do a group buy.   If you choose to do a drop ship in my opinion you will have trouble with group buy, unless using a very very well known escrow who agrees to do all the shipping.

And 370 is actually a nicer quote then I thought you would get.   Compare it to 1.96 BTC.   Currently that beats it by quite a bit.
9719  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Review] Avalon 4.1 Miner- Summer Mining - Notlist3d on: May 13, 2015, 06:28:45 AM
They just quoted me $370 for 40 units, plus shipping. I will see how much shipping is and see how much better I can do, but would need a lot more interest if this would be serious to go through.

Make sure to mention that they are not shipping to same place.  As shipping would very.

I think shipping would be hard to estimate if you ship 40 unit's to different places that are unknown.
9720  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Start Mining with 2500$ Budget. on: May 13, 2015, 06:27:11 AM
Electricity price = 0.07-0.09$ per KW.
We don't have vat/import tax.
2000$ for 2 S4+ Miners.

it's my mistake to type s4 insted of s4+
Hash Rate: 2570GH ±5% so 2570 * 2 = 5140 GH ±5.

based on my calculation if i'm right 5140 GH would earn me 400$ per month.

please advice.
