9741  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what is most important ? on: July 04, 2015, 04:59:50 PM
As NorrisK already wrote. Be more specific. I guess you mean what it needs to be successful of choosing good altcoins. My answer is: research. Do your own research about a coin, it's community, it's devs, plans, innovation etc. That is the secret.

Interesting. After the revival of Litecoin price through Greek crises, many new coins use Scrypt algorithm again.  Grin

9745  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New RippleTrade verification requirements on: July 04, 2015, 03:40:06 PM
I've got the same question. Just have a couple of Ripple. No big value. I read the email notification from Ripple Labs today. I guess, we will not get them out of the wallet without identification.

That are good news, so I can keep my Jinn assets. For a short moment, I considered to sell them  Grin

9747  Bitcoin / Press / [2015-07-04] Greek Crisis Has People Turning To Bitcoin on: July 04, 2015, 03:22:55 PM
Greece has halted all Internet payment transactions that uses the Greek debit or credit cards. This is the latest move the country’s banks have taken in response to the continuing financial crisis. Earlier, Greece had imposed a $57/60 euro daily withdrawal limit and closed all the banks in the country.

I like the new layout. You can add a little bit more color.
Was this forum script developed from scratch or did you use a open source solution? I am wondering coz I am looking for a similar script for an own project.

Please help test the new forums: https://forum.nem.io/

"No premine/ninjamine/instamine/fastmine/hidden launch..." sounds good. I gonna watch this thread.

Sounds great! Please let us know if you have got more information from the dev.

My plan is to work with DG.Slayer on the project.  I downloaded the code from bitbucket and got it working in Qt debug mode.  Neat coin with more functionality than most.  For one dev, DG has done an outstanding job.  He/She must be tired so I am here to help with coding.

9751  Economy / Economics / Re: It's not only Greece on: July 04, 2015, 12:24:34 PM
Okay, I agree with your assumption about Puerto Rico. But, I disagree with your opinion on Ukraine. Ukraine is actually insolvent and they talk about a solution (likely a haircut) at the moment. It is a danger at least for the European economy.
http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2015-07-02/ukraine-bonds-rally-as-creditor-breakthrough-dims-default-threat

Not only Greece is near a complete default. Also Puerto Rico and Ukraine are almost insolvent. i hope that especially from the Ukraine will come more buying power for Bitcoin soon.

Ukraine and Puerto Rico are in no danger of insolvency. Ukraine is now waging a war against the Russians, in which tens of thousands of people have died. The Americans and the NATO will prop them up, at least until the purpose is served. And Puerto Rico is a part of the United States of America. Janet Yellen will just print some $100 billion in new banknotes, and transport them to Puerto Rico. Problem solved.
9752  Economy / Economics / Re: If Greece defaults on: July 04, 2015, 12:20:33 PM
The banks consider to keep 30% of all Greek account balances over $8,000 for hair-cut . This is much less then the $100k for Cryprus hair-cut in 2013.  Roll Eyes

9755  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Pizza for bitcoins? on: July 04, 2015, 11:21:32 AM
Try to think it in a different way. What if Bitcoin is reaching highs in one or two years we do not think about yet? Let's say $10,000 / BTC. I now it sounds crazy, but has lazlo thought that Bitcoin will reach $1,000 one day when he offered 10k BTC for a pizza? Probably not. So, you could be still on the winner side if you hold your Bitcoins.

I always think to myself, would I rather have gotten in Bitcoin at the very beginning, and done something like this or get involved once it had grown from it's early stages.  These guys had no idea the growth and value that would ensue in such a short time frame, and that's why this is so historic!

Well, that's a popular standard response of most exchanges when asking for adding a new coin  Cheesy

I got a reply to my support ticket today. It didn't mention why the voting system seems to be no longer active, but it did say they were studying Qora, which is hopeful.

Greek Banks Plan For "Bail-In" Withdrawals From Consumer Deposits

In a possible redux of the handling of the Cyprus economic crisis from 2013, Greek banks are setting new contingency plans for a possible “bail-in” to avoid collapse.

Worst scenarios are gonna happen  Shocked
