Anyone who wants to let TechCrunch know they don't appreciate their authors publishing articles with zero facts can do so here http://techcrunch.com/got-a-tip/. Just include a link to the article http://techcrunch.com/2014/01/07/the-silk-roads-libertas-is-free-to-the-annoyance-of-us-authorities/ with your comments - they do read them.

Thanks. I used that link to send a compliment and applaud the author for his bravery.

Does anybody really think the FBI can sell all of their coins at an auction? Yea right. And the big money probably won't be interested when it learns WHY the FBI has lost faith in bitcoins. They will be forced to sell on an exchange.
984  Economy / Speculation / Re: Massive Dump of SR Bitcoins by FBI/US Govt in coming weeks? (techcrunch) on: January 08, 2014, 01:46:16 AM
This story contains zero information.

The coins are not "on the move."  They are sitting where they've been sitting since the seizure and not a single satoshi has been withdrawn:

https://blockchain.info/address/1FfmbHfnpaZjKFvyi1okTjJJusN455paPH
https://blockchain.info/address/1F1tAaz5x1HUXrCNLbtMDqcw6o5GNn4xqX

The words "faith" and "managing volatility" are nonsense as well.  The FBI will follow established procedures and sell the coins at auction, regardless of whether or not they have "faith" in the seized good, and regardless of the "volatility" of its market price.

Of course they are not moving yet. Article mentions FBI is considering selloff within weeks.
985  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 08, 2014, 01:39:00 AM
The coins are not actually moving as stated in that article. It's just manipulation dust spam.

They aren't moving YET. Article says FBI is considering sell off within coming weeks.
986  Economy / Speculation / Re: Massive Dump of SR Bitcoins by FBI/US Govt in coming weeks? (techcrunch) on: January 08, 2014, 01:35:29 AM
It just occurred to me that the FBI can probably sell the coins pre-sentencing if Ross consents to the sale but still reserves his right to a trial. Why would Ross consent? He might expect the case to remain unresolved for a long time and wants to cash out before it's too late. That way, cash is sitting for him if/when he is released, as opposed to worthless coins.

Been away for a day. Any bad news at the moment, or just consolidation for its own sake?

Yes. The FBI plans on crashing the price to single digits within weeks.
989  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 08, 2014, 01:24:20 AM
The author has published tons of articles. http://techcrunch.com/author/john-biggs/

It's legit folks.
Doesn't matter. Bad for my finance = Downvote. Cheesy

Fucking bankers and their manipulation, am I right? Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Unfortunately for banks, generally they cannot control the price of an asset by manipulating 1% of that asset on a foreign exchange, outside of US regulation. At least not yet.

Perfect storm approaching: Obvious manipulation on Houbi. All China exchanges getting shut down by end of Jan. China's eBay just banned sales of miners. FBI knows something we don't and has lost faith in bitcoin.

The end is near.

LOL

you are a funny guy. Stop smoking weed dude  Wink

it ain't weed that makes him think like that.

he just wants to be a manipulator as well,

Because I post about facts, as opposed to continuous wild speculation that BTC will reach $1,000,000 by Friday? lawl.  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

TechCrunch article appeared only an hour ago. Not all over Reddit yet.... Can't wait.
It was downvoted to the second page after it reached the first one: http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/1uo12r/a_source_in_the_us_justice_department_said_that/ Now it's downvoted to oblivion.

Bitcoin cultists cannot handle anything that is not 2damoon.

Agree. If they were smart, they'd immediately load up on Dogecoin.  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

edit: that is assuming that story is not BS and i kinda think it is.

Pathetic speculative attempt to restore faith in bitcoin. GTFO.

Why has the FBI lost faith in the value of bitcoin? Perhaps they have acquired non-public info about price manipulation and plan on taking down some of the exchanges....

*edit*

"lost" implies the FBI did consider it valuable at some point. Again, what caused them to lose faith.... interesting...
998  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 08, 2014, 12:21:26 AM
It surprises me that no one see's the obvious. Large manipulators wait for negative PR and then take the opportunity to start the drop, knowing that people will attribute it to the news and panic.

Holding is not because you're sticking with your internet friends, its because by and large individual amateur investors are going to have a really hard time timing the market properly and not losing money. You will lose less if you just step away and stop thinking about it. It's either going to be worth millions or nothing at all. You joined up for this ride, so don't quit your day job.

And please, stop complaining.

I dont sign up often to the "manipulators" meme. But in this case it looks pretty obvious. There is really no news here.

However bears may win out intermediate term. I expected an in flow of fiat this week. It doesn't look like it has arrived.

My bet is insider trading on the arrest of a manipulator in China. The real dumping hasn't even begun.

Hodling is stupid right now. Nothing but negative news on the horizon from China. Why wait until the end of the month?

LOL! i remember you shithole! you were stating the EXACT SAME BULLSHIT back in July at Bitcoin prices around 70$. "why not sell at 70$ when you know that 50$ will be reached?"

The SAME WORDING! LOL! Except of course the China part. Go f---- yourself.

Check my posts. I was one of the few screaming BUY BUY BUY last summer.

i remember your exact wording, your name and your dumb avatar. and YOU KNOW IT.

Again, click my profile and check my posts. I was one of the few mega bulls all summer long.

You might be able to find a bearish post or two but there are dozens, maybe over a hundred, bullish posts.
