981  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Sudanese Muslim woman sentenced to death for Christian conversion on: May 22, 2014, 10:29:33 AM
Disturbing details are out. The woman was married to a Christian man for several years. They already had one child and she was pregnant with the second. The Sudanese are saying that they will stone her to death after the birth of her second child. And both the children will be taken away from her husband, to be brought up in an Islamic environment.

Let us observe the outcry pouring from all over the place and social networks. Let us admire the crowd chanting "No Justice! No Peace! Free Meriam Now!" Any hashtag from Michelle Obama #FreeMeriamNow campaign coming?

you may complain about michelle obama doing that stunt, but it got the media outlets talking about it.. and now a lot of people know what's going on. so it did have an effect, but you might just be spouting off the agenda of fox noise.

Viral Recoil: Michelle Obama's hashtag activism backfires with anti-drone campaign

The hashtag 'Bring back our girls' quickly spread on the web, even attracting the undoubted clout of America's First Lady. But, as well as raising awareness of the kidnappings of 276 Nigerian schoolgirls, Michelle Obama has inadvertently sparked an online anti-drone campaign. Gayane Chichakyan reports. Hey maybe this will be an opportunity of Michelle to take her girls--at the taxpayers expense--on another field trip, this time to NIGERIA.

Just wanted to say thanks for sharing with us your story.
I was just talking with my brother the other day and brought up the fact that everyone that already has enough bitcoin to become millionaires will change the world because if they were smart enough to figure out bitcoin and see its future value and utility probably have a few good idea’s of their own or at least think in a way where they will be able to see value in ideas. It will be a really exciting to see what crazy technology we will see once bitcoin millionaires start spending there money.
984  Other / Politics & Society / Being illegal doesn't make you a criminal- my cousin works as border patrol on: May 21, 2014, 11:05:11 PM
he thinks this is exactly what it makes you.

On a side note, he works during the pres shift briefing, someone had listed some of his subjects as UDA. Now, he said they usually list them as IA (Illegal Alien), and some of his people were all "wtf is UDA", and the presenter said "Undocumented Alien".

The only illegals he will accept as undocumented as opposed to illegal are the children, or those who crossed as children. Part of any criminal statute begins with "knowingly and willingly", well, children don't knowingly and willingly do much of anything he said. But the parents, they willingly did something they knew to be against the law, yea, illegal, yea, criminal.

What ya think?
985  Other / Politics & Society / Re: what is your political preference? on: May 20, 2014, 08:02:21 PM
I had see one who became a politician with pure intention to help the citizens and get rid of corruption in the past but he didn't last for more than two years or so. Not other politicians were backing him and supporting his intentions because they themselves were already corrupted before the man became our prime minister.
So I do believe there are some people out there who wants to become a politician with good intentions but if they do then I don't think they would last for long which is very sad.
Some people might enter politics and be attracted by the amount money they can earn, not just for being a politician. There are plenty of money making opportunities for someone in politics. A well known politician might also be paid as a business advisor, an after-dinner speaker, a writer or a broadcaster. That does not include illegal opportunities for taking bribes to support or vote against certain policies.
I don't think anyone enters politics with a view to making large profits, but when they do get into a position of power, they will start to see how their situation can be used to make more money. Many of them will make the most of what they can get out of being in politics.

If you give a man a fish he is hungry again in an hour. If you teach him to catch a fish you do him a good turn.  Grin
Force a man to undergo 12 years of public education and incentivize him squander another half a decade of his life obtaining a BA and he may reach his mid-20s never having learned to fish.

The take home point: regarding education as a right != "teaching a man to fish."
987  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Education is a right or is more like a priveledge on: May 20, 2014, 06:09:38 PM
Govt provided anything is not a right. Rights exist without a govt's involvement.
But if the govt provides an education, everyone should have equal access to it.
a buddy of mine got his GI Bill for my military service and got his Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from the University of Colorado at Denver. he still haven't used his degree. While we debate education as either a right or privilege, we must not neglect the fact that people that have Bachelor's Degrees pushing brooms. What is the use of education past the high school level is the question that I ask. Why do you need a right to a Bachelor's Degree when you will be just as unemployed or underemployed in this economy as everyone else with a Bachelor's Degree?
Well that simply isnt true, the unemployment rate for people with degrees is much lower than high school only. Underemployment is certainly an important issue, especially the first couple of years after the recession. But even then you are still better off with a degree for the most part.

989  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Turkey coal mine disaster: Least 238 dead on: May 19, 2014, 10:40:55 AM
The company that operated the mine was fined by the local government over 66 times, due to many violations of safety, but through bribes and political connections to local AKP government (Erdogan's party), the company was able to keep the mine running, and it was never shut down, until yesterday's explosion.

Its hard to get millions to show up unless you make sure millions have actually heard of your movement. Probably several people in that crowd gathering names to add to the turrorist list. Well done.
991  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Vice President Joe Biden's Son Joins Board Of Largest Ukraine Gas Producer on: May 19, 2014, 10:36:18 AM
It certainly makes it clear that the US wants to profit from Ukraine's resources while the Ukrainians get nothing but austerity and grinding poverty.
Let's hope the east and south jump off - it would void the contract unless renegotiated by the new leaders of the people's republic of Donetsk and Lugansk.

This is actually good news. It only drives up support for the far right in France, whose recent boon was due to backlash over the insane homo indoctrination being pushed in schools.

994  Other / Off-topic / Re: Which anime do you like to watch? on: May 19, 2014, 10:28:07 AM
Bleach -
Naruto -
Full metal Alchemist -
Heart of Sword (Himura Kenshin) -
Flame of Recca -
All of the animes almost have the same reason as to why I choose them except Full Metal Alchemist is a bit different. The other four are mainly characters with own unique powers that they create or achieve. And almost all of them have the same motive and that is showing courage to fight for justice, with purpose, and also there's some educational theme or information we can get from these animes in life, love and fight, which sometimes happen in our daily life. Full Metal Alchemist is a bit unique in its own way but the core reason is the same, fight for justice and purpose.
995  Other / Off-topic / Re: OMFG! GOOGLE DRIVER LESS CAR! on: May 19, 2014, 10:25:58 AM
Sleep on the way to work..get dropped off at the mall entrance while the car parks itself... get drunk at the bar and wake up in my driveway... pick up the kids at school while I'm still at work.. drive to my Florida vacation spot watch movies surf the net play video games and get a full sleep. Dreams can come true.
Building a vehicle that can drive on its own is simple. But adding safety features and redundancy to create a fail-safe system is extremely complex. I don't see this being more reliable, once in the hands of a consumer, perhaps not in the next 5 years.

Life insurance policy and travel everywhere I can while enjoying it. Like not spending one day in each place and spending more time on a plane than actually chilling out some place awesome.
997  Other / Off-topic / Re: Favourite Game of Thrones character? on: May 15, 2014, 03:41:26 PM
Who is your favourite?
Tyrion is the obvious choice but I'm a huge fan of the hound (maybe because ive read the books) and LittleFinger probably my overall favorite as far as makes go. ...........As far as females go it would be Ygritte (of course) and maergary tyrell I love the way that actress plays her (she didn't pop out as much in the books for me) but I really enjoy stannis' red lady
998  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Society thoughts on cyberbullying, what do you think? on: May 15, 2014, 01:11:59 PM
Cyber bullying needs to be controlled because victims are people who take everything seriously and are personally wounded by it.
I think we need more education about cyber bullying, in schools, colleges and for parents of children of that age. Parents are often unaware that it's happening and need to know the signs to look for. Children and teens need to be taught how to deal with it, by reporting it immediately and stop using the site or the forum where it is happening.

"We are not alone in the Universe" Is basically the definition of every theistic belief system, it would be news if he'd believe otherwise! He is the frickn Pope, after all!
1000  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Society thoughts on cyberbullying, what do you think? on: May 15, 2014, 12:27:18 PM
I think that the online world should stay as free as possible, so as much as I dislike that people can be as arrogant and mean online as they want without ramifications, I still would side with the argument that the term cyber bullying is just another building block towards censorship. I do realize that words are powerful, even online, but I think it should be the parents' responsibility to raise people who are secure enough to just walk away or close the window or even block people, as I think it's just highly impractical to keep telling everyone to "stop being mean online".
What do you guys think? Should cyberbullying be considered as legitimate even though you can just easily close the browser when someone is being mean, or is there just something to the other side of the argument that people are missing?
I believe cyberbullying is a real thing and that it exists but it really shouldn't. I believe the people that let it affect them aren't really smart or intelligent. I mean how hard is it to just close a page, or just ignore words on a screen. All this happens online and not in reality. In reality it's hard to ignore because it's real people saying real words aloud in front of other people, but when you're online, you're really just alone in your room by yourself with no one actually there.
