983  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Do we get the completed posts payment. on: September 16, 2023, 07:37:59 AM
I asked in public because some newbie also may have this question in their mind.
and I know this is a simple question which is easily solved by asking the manager but i wanted to know by members who lived signature campaign and still got the payment.

This is a simple issue that could have been easily avoided if you had contacted your manager privately. You've made a mistake, and it's understandable that you may be feeling upset, but publicly venting your frustration won't help you. Quite the opposite, actually.

I read the rules carefully and didn't found the rules about what if i lived campaign in the middle of the week.

That was the Yo!Mix campaign, right?

▶️ If I find campaign members breaching these terms, I will remove them from the campaign immediately.
▶️ Wear the appropriate signature, avatar and personal text during the campaign
▶️ Week starts from Saturday and ends on Friday UTC

You seem to have a misunderstanding of the campaign rules.

Why did you post this in Meta? This has nothing to do with the forum.

For example why he restrict USA and UK? Both has the largest population in the whole world and it has many gambling website and traditional ones.

Regarding the United States, online gambling is typically either completely prohibited or subject to stringent regulations in most states.

987  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Coinex hacked, $54M stolen on: September 15, 2023, 08:29:28 AM
According to the statement, the cause of the incident was the leakage of the hot wallet private key, and the assets in CoinEx cold wallet have not been affected.
Can someone tell me if these "hot wallet private keys" are just saved on their platform's server, i mean on their hosting servers for them to control the withdrawal on their user's daily withdrawal, then just replenish the addresses if it lacks balance on it. Because if its the case then it'a easy much easier for hacker to compromised such thing.

There's not much to say here. Obviously, if they wanted automatic withdrawals from the platform, they'd need to store the private keys for transaction authorization somewhere. We don't know how they kept these keys secure or who could access them. The leak might have been due to hacking or simply an inside job.

989  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: what are the reputable casino with vault feature? on: September 15, 2023, 07:58:55 AM
Just keep your coins in a non custodial wallet. This is bitcoin common sense and if you aren't following common sense, you're exposing yourself to risk that you don't have to expose yourself to.

That's not the main point here. When you deposit your coins into a centralized service, any centralized service, you essentially give up control of them to that third party. The "Vault" feature is there just to set aside a portion of your main balance and limit your amount available for gambling. It isn't meant for long-term safekeeping of your money.
990  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Pregled Bitcointalk Signature-Ad kampanja on: September 15, 2023, 07:16:51 AM

U pozitivnom smislu.
995  Other / Meta / Re: ...about bitcointalk forum. on: September 13, 2023, 12:49:02 PM
Only the price that is the factor of a shitcoin? lol, you need to learn about decentralization.
Not only price.

Then, what other factors did you have in mind when you said this:
"Besides I can be correct to say that bitcoin was once a shit coin, when it was worth many figures less than a cent."

No, you can't be correct in saying that because nobody in their right mind called Bitcoin that.

The term "shitcoin" was first used by member ribuck back in 2010, when he perfectly predicted what would happen in the following years:

...it would have to be better in some way other than just "I started the new chain, so I've got a lot of the easy-to-generate-at-the-beginning-coins."
You say that now, but if bitcoin really takes off I can see lots of get-rich-quick imitators coming on the scene: gitcoin, nitcoin, witcoin, titcoin, shitcoin... Some of them are sure to attract users with promises like "Why use bitcoin, where you can only generate 50 bitcoins every few months? Use shitcoin instead, and you'll get 51 shitcoins every 2 minutes".

Of course the cheap imitators will disappear as quickly as those 1990s "internet currencies" like flooz and beenz, but lots of people will get burned along the way.

From that point on, the term "shitcoin" was a synonym used for all the clones and copycats of Bitcoin, with no real purpose, that followed.

I am not defending altcoins but I am saying that altcoin promoters or lovers shouldn't be segregated.

Why not? Even those altcoin lovers (God forgive me for saying this) have the right to speak their mind, and they do have their own space on this forum. The Altcoins section is there mainly because all altcoins are basically spin-offs of Bitcoin, so they're connected to Bitcoin and blockchain tech in some way. But let's be real, that doesn't mean the altcoins talk is super crucial for the whole Bitcoin ecosystem.

~snip~

This is why we have built JustBet. You can directly play from your web3 wallet. Instant payouts, no deposit, no withdrawal, no KYC, no bullsh*t. No one can ban you. Use decentralized casino and stay safe.
^ How many web3 gambling casinos are out there now?
That is definitely right, a KYCed casino should left behind on this web3 casino. They doing trap promotion that seems a bait to their customer from banning and saying goodbye to their money once it has a balance. It is a shame that the casino has had many complaints recently.
Has your Justbet promoted it here?
Every promotions for casino is a trap promotion, it's the same with every jackpot you hit from casino, it will take heavens grace and your own knowledge to avoid giving the money back to them because of your own greed.

The problem I have with web3 casinos is how they will maintain no KYC policy while they are growing, it's like been decentralized, since all you need is to connect your wallet to the platform and gamble.

I remember what happened with Uniswap, they work in such manner too, but they later succumb to the SEC power, they block project off the platform.

If they can do this, any web 3 online casino can come up with rubbish too, whatever this person is telling you about web 3 casino is another promotion too, will they keep to it on the long run? That's a million dollar question.

Even if they're Web3 casinos, they're not completely decentralized. They still require a website, software, a centralized database on servers, a domain, and a bunch of other centralized stuff that are under regulatory control. They might be able to fly under the radar for a limited time, but eventually, their activities are likely to catch the attention of authorities or regulatory bodies.

edit: i found archived snapshot from June 20th and there you could see the details. What's interesting though is that just a few months ago they allegedly had $182 million in their reserve and now it fell down to barely over $20 million.

https://web.archive.org/web/20230620035753/https://coinmarketcap.com/exchanges/coinex/

Perhaps the financial reserves data is automatically retrieved from their hot/cold wallet addresses. Given that many of those wallets have been drained (and Coinex may have made some transactions themselves to safeguard the funds), this could explain why the total has decreased significantly and why there is no longer detailed data showing individual token allocations.

You can actually copy the addresses from the website archive and check them in the blockchain explorer. The ones I checked do indeed show the withdrawal of all assets in the last 12 hours.
