Great How to Guide (i remember writing a lot of it)  Smiley

All i would suggest is at the top, you put some simple steps, as it can get a little over whelming.

EG:

What you will need to do.

1- Buy Bitcoin (if you have Bitcoin go to step 2)
2 - Transfer Bitcoin to a exchange like Poloniex or Bittrex
3- Find I/O Coin Trading page. Trading name IOC
4- Place Order for IOC.
5- Transfer bought IOC to Desktop wallet

(then the full explanation below)

http://www.iodigital.io/  Outstanding update on the official I/O Coin website.

Maybe a couple of grammatical errors to fix.

I attached the photo to the twitter reply and included your user name Richard(you might need to unblock me to see it though)  with your expert business expertise I am sure good times are just around the corner.

Just looking at the io_Coin twitter account, its fairly inactive, does anyone here think it would be a good idea for the Official Twitter Account, to be more active, like a few posts a day?  I think it would certainly help. ATM, its like 1 little post per week, I/OCOin certainly needs to attract all the attention it can, you see many other alts being far more active and it seems to help them.

This Bitcoin rise and the bloodbath is causing to all alts on the exchanges, really caught me by surprise, i did not expect for one moment it would have such a hammer blow to all alts.

But as Richard pointed out, I/OCOin holders are made of stronger stuff, staking is well over 40% and virtually back to an average of 50%, so only a few small panic sellers are selling, I/OCoin still have an overall stronger staking percentage than any other POS coin i can see, a true testament in the belief of what the IOC team is doing.

Where has all the buy support gone?

Poloniex buy support now only 0.8 BTC

Bittrex only 5.5btc

Everyone taking Bitcoin to cash out (sell way too cheap)  people with money will always rules.

ALL alts are going to suffer BIG time from this Bitcoin rally.   mosy people will cash out way too soon, or try and trade and end up losing BTC.
Either way, very worrying times for alts right now.

what me worry!

rising btc will put pressure on alts...but isn't that a good thing if there are a couple of alt coin projects that seem like they could amount to something in the future. Like IOC. With so much focus on BTC and its upward move...I thinks its a great buying opportunity for alts...and it could get better in terms of cheap alt coins...then at a certain point when btc actions slows and stabilizes...that rising tide will lift all the other boats in the sea.

I can honestly say i am devastated.  This is going to be a Nightmare before Christmas all over again!  Bitcoin run is going to kill alts, the people who sell to trade BTC will end up losing money or making money and not going back to alts.

Last years all time lows for IOC hurt real bad... this is going to be unbearable.

Hi guys,

Thanks for your interest in I/O Digital - I/O Coin. Welcome!

When we release the new HTML5 wallet, there will be official releases and support for Windows and OSX.
You are able to compile a Linux wallet yourselves. We will have instructions on how to do that.
We will - probably - compile one ourselves too. Source code will be available yes.

The old QT will NOT continue to work when HTML5 is released.

If you have any questions, please ask.

Cheers
Richard

Thanks for the info Richard. Much appreciated.

Will buy a notepad with my Augur profits and run the new wallet on Linux, so any Linux experts who run the new I/O Coin wallet, PLEASE can you write a simple to follow user guide for us newbies!

Are these new wallets closed source? No github updates since July...

Edit: In fact, no real updates on github for one year.

You all really need to read the OP.

What IOC is doing is one of a kind.  As mentioned before.  When the new HTML wallet is released it will be the ONLY wallet for IOC, period.
QT will be kicked to the curb, all focus on HTML  wallet for the future.
They are talking about taking I/O Coin mainstream to the real world. The HTML wallet is going to help with their overall plans.

The new wallet can have features added to it that will help with the overall user friendliness and future proofing.

No other wallet can claim these bragging rights when the IOC wallet is realised.

Yes it IS closed source, they dont want any bunch of scam coin devs stealing the code so they can use it to pump a shit coin.

So to be clear, there a plenty of updates since day one, nothing but solid, hard work and insane devotion from the IOC team and the rest of the crypto world can choke to death on the real developments IOC is developing.   IOC is for real, in a very VERY small minority of coins actually trying to be named along side Bitcoin and Ethereum.

So if you want a linux wallet, then look elsewhere.

Ehm, what? IOC is going mainstream, fine. But mainstream-only?
I understand that Linux is far from mainstream, but completely ignoring it isn't wise IMO. Moreover in crypto world, there are many Linux users.

I don't know how about you, but with such focus on staking, I would love to stake on my dedicated Linux machine 24/7.. I wouldn't dare to do that with Windows.

You raise a valid point.  If staking can be increased by 10%+ due to being Linux compatible then it would be great if the new wallet, after release, could then be adapted to use for linux, that would be fantastic.
989  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [IOC][ I/O Digital ] I/O Coin - Identity SideChain - Private Messaging - POS I/O on: November 02, 2015, 07:16:35 AM
I was not disputing the existence or use of QT wallets in the future. No QT, fine. I'm asking if there will ever be a Linux compatible wallet. Excuse my ignorance, but is HTML5 not compatible with Linux?

Will the source be available post release?

Really need a IOC team member to answer, but the HTML may be compatible, that would be a nice added bonus.

Also, if you had spent, what must be 25+BTC now on tis HTML wallet, would you want to give it away for free for other people to copy?
I highly doubt it, i would be keeping it 100% locked away, closed source for a long time.

Looking forward to next update.

Just checking http://www.iodigital.io/roadmap/roadmap-status/  and it has not been updated since 30th Aug.
a full month ago and DIONS and new HTML Wallet were both 95% complete.

So i presume both are in the final stages now...  looking forward to the release of DIONS especially,
will be a Game Changer and take I/O Coin to the MOON!

Happy Halloween.

I see its been updated.

DIONS had 95% completion before  (30th August)
Now its has LESS 92% ?  so in 30+ days  its lost 3% completion, why?

(considering Derek had coded DIONS back in July)

And the HTML wallet has only increased 1% to 96%.

Lets see how my prediction works out.

I predict DIONS and Wallet will be Q1 (march) of 2016.

But as long as everything is 100% Perfect and Really Impressive, then it will be more than worth the long wait.

Reminded of how Betamax met its fate.

Is there a plan for a Linux wallet release, or maybe someone has build instructions?

Pretty sure, no. All focus is on the HTML wallet which will be one of a kind and have the ability to add all the features the IOC team are doing.

The new html wallet will surprise many and i am sure it will prove to be highly popular in crypto.

(my views are my own and not related to the IOC team)

The economist have published a really interesting article about blockchain technology, soon enough they'll be writing about I/O digital Smiley
Here is the link
http://www.economist.com/news/leaders/21677198-technology-behind-bitcoin-could-transform-how-economy-works-trust-machine

FANTASTIC Article, Very well written.

YO I/O Coin Team !!!!!   HIRE the guy that wrote the mentioned article, forget anyone else, this is the person you need for your:

"So once we release DIONS, it will be our focus to educate the masses on our blockchain, via marketing campaign "

Thank you for the post LondonMP  would make a good addition to the reddit page for I/O Coin.

PRICE PREDICTION TIME

What price do you think I/O Coin will be on Christmas day?

I think with DIONS and the ongoing efforts by Joel and Richard  i think 50,000 Satoshi should be achievable.
But 40k is my estimate.

996  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [IOC][ I/O Digital ] I/O Coin - Identity SideChain - Private Messaging - POS I/O on: October 29, 2015, 01:57:07 PM
was wondering if anybody who visits this thread regularly finds the op to be kind of busy?  I know there is a lot of information that you want to get out there on the project but the large infograhics take up a lot of space... both page wise and in memory (seems that ioc op loads slower than most). Visitors may get intimidated and just leave thread rather than wade thru what is posted there, which would be a shame. anyway its really a minor issue for sure but thought id bring it up

also btc keep rising...im loving the cheap ioc

good point. Yes we have a lot to explain and want to show everybody what we are up to.
We as a team have two focusses at this moment:

1. development / finishing DIONS / project management / Chameleon -> Joel
2. companies that can adopt our technology, investors, converting to a legit blockchain company -> Richard

With those two we have spent the time we have currently. Agree that we should / could update the op a bit.
There is a lot of info. This info is basically also available on iocoin.io and iodigital.io

When i have some time i will look into it or somebody has some example / idea / proposal on how we can do this op.

Thanks
Richard

Is it just me? Or is everyone HEre really excited about finding out the Global Company who will be first to use DIONS.

The tension is killing me, i have Super High Hopes that DIONS will be the Launch Pad for I/OCoin and its BRight Future.

Even though i am kept in the Dark I can See Clearly WHat is Being Done HEre.

I think in this day and age in crypto, the smart people will read the infographics thats for sure. the only thing i would change about the OP, is put all of the news section on the website.

Speaking of the website, i would have links to www.iocoin.io  and www.iodigital.io  at the top of the OP.

With a little message to go  to official websites and bookmark them.

A few more weeks are not a problem for an investor!
Your team is doing a great work! 👍

a few weeks would be awesome, but at this point i am content just knowing that this project has a quality team and is moving forward. This is crypto...it could take months if not years for this project to begin realizing its potential. Mainstream adoption of blockchain technology is years away...but like a rising tide...it will soon be all around us. Hopefully IOC will be well poised to assume its place as a real world solution in this coming sea of possible alternatives.

+100

Very well understood.   I/O Coin and its team are here to stay, the developments clearly outline this. In a year from now, i think most of the developments, that you can see the progress of here > http://www.iodigital.io/roadmap/roadmap-status/   (note to IOC team progress was last updated on the 30th August, so maybe at the end of this month it will be updated?) prove I/O Coins long term vision, one that very few other coins are actually working towards, Blockchain and sidechains, along with the very promising DIOEX.

DIOEX being the Decentralized Value Transfer System.   More of which can be found on the first post, with the infographics here:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=695855.0

So now, is a really good time to take advantage of people selling IOC (and other alts) to cash out for Bitcoin as bitcoin is high, many people will sell alt coins to then sell bitcoin, to buy bitcoin lower (as always when BTC has hit $300 region, it gets slammed back down to $230 region) then buy back bitcoin low to rebuy Alts with more btc.

Looking forward to the new year with IOC, i hope it can hold this 3k region and build from here.  Smiley

PS: I see staking has dropped to 40% (still good) too many coins are on Bittrex (distribution/wallets have increased a lot) and not in wallets staking.
999  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [IOC][ I/O Digital ] I/O Coin - Identity SideChain - Private Messaging - POS I/O on: October 23, 2015, 01:31:34 PM

To answer the above question. "Miami Wiz", the last i had heard, he had sold his soul to pay for the new wallet, so he is 100% devoted and committed to IOC, thats for sure, he is the Captain of this "ship" and will make sure IOC sails to beautiful lands where IOC can enjoy  100k+ satoshi price and all the people here who invested (by buying the coin) can reap the rewards and build statues of Wiz in their gardens made of gold with the HUGE profits that IOC will produce, thank to all the Blood, sweat  and tears Wiz has sacrificed for all the grateful people here.

I will personally have a bronze statue of Wiz made in his honour should IOC ever get to 100k Satoshi. not a 100% replica, probably 1/5 Scale and  have his hands turned upwards as in prayer, the left hand being a bird bath and the right hand to hold the seed, because from seeds, great things can grow. (or in this case, feed the birds)

How i look forward to this great day.

Are you being sarcastic or is it real gratitude / future outlook? I never know.

If its the last then i agree with you that "Miami Wiz" deserves a statue. Not a bronze one (if you bought more / kept more you can afford one later on) but a Gold one. ;-)
Not for getting the price to 100k+ and make other people have profits, but for investing a lot of his own money, time and personal engagement to this project. He is pursuing his dream and vision.

Never ending enthusiasm and always taking care of others. Even when in his personal life it is tough. He is still taking care of others and forgets about himself.
Its his personal mission to make it succeed. The captain of the ship yes! Surrounded by people who believe his vision and help him in every way they can. It is not always about money. People can help in all sorts of different ways.

The last year i got to know him as a real crypto professional, 100% ethical person and great project manager. Working with teams around the globe in all kinds of different timezones is hard. very hard. Especially in this line of work. Blockchain technology breaking new grounds. This is new technology.

He manages it well with all those bumps on the road. Many setbacks during this last year gave him some headaches, but never let him down. He works harder every time it gets tough. There are not many people i look up to, but he is one of the persons i do look up to.

Proud to be part of this team and proud of our "Captain". Despite what people say about updates, lack of info, how we should operate, how we should not, exchange price etc.
We as a team have a clear understanding of what we will try to achieve. This is our goal and nothing in between will lead us off track. No fud, no harassment, no price action.

We do it our way and in our own spare time (yes, we have normal day jobs as well. Bills need to be payed). So producing a video for 20 minutes because somebody asks us to is not on our agenda for now. 20 minutes of our spare time can be spent better we think.

Cheers. have a nice day and a nice weekend,

Richard

All sincere here Richard.  Nothing but the utmost respect for the "Captain". Your words sum everything up perfectly.  Miami Wiz is doing a sterling job of keeping things on track along with his fantastic Crew (developers) and Cabin Boy (you)  Tongue
 (couldn't resist).

But all i can say is EVERYONE involved in making I/O Coin hit the BIG time  deserves gold medals and maybe one day we will see all of the fantastic IOC team on TV talking about how they had this little project, (like when you see a young zuckerberg talking about Facebook) to make it different from all the other coins and how I/OCoin is worth billions, i honestly think that might happen one day.

And that comes from the bottom of my heart. plain and simple.

Its a shame i got made to "walk the plank" or i would of happily made the video for people to see...

1000  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [IOC][ I/O Digital ] I/O Coin - Identity SideChain - Private Messaging - POS I/O on: October 23, 2015, 09:10:51 AM
Because all of this price is in downtrend and i`m waiting for my buy orders to get filled Smiley

Depends where your orders are , but if they are in the 3k region, they might get filled.

To add also, another reason the price is falling, is thanks to the asshole who has stacked up the sell side on Bittrex

85 Bitcoin to only 20k sats on bittrex = BIG sell pressure.

I personally have ZERO Coins on any exchange, took the last few thousand i had on cryptsy off a few days ago.
(big trouble at that exchange and i would advise everyone to withdraw funds from there).

Same with Bittrex, i hear people talking about how their withdrawals are being delayed.

Only Poloniex seems safe and is the best option for anyone who wants to keep coins on an exchange (in my opinion).
