Yep I totally agree.

Ponzis might be dangerous and in many cases it might be a scam on people.

But... People make their own choices.. and learn on results Smiley

Ring is a 1994 science fiction novel by author Stephen Baxter. Ring tells the story of the end of the universe and the saving of mankind from its destruction. Two parallel plots are followed throughout the novel: that of Lieserl, an AI exploring the interior of the sun, and that of the Great Northern, a generation ship on a five-million-year journey.

Ringworld is a 1970 science fiction novel by Larry Niven, set in his Known Space universe and considered a classic of science fiction literature. It is followed by three sequels and four prequels, and ties into numerous other books set in Known Space. Ringworld won the Nebula Award in 1970, as well as both the Hugo Award and Locus Award in 1971.

Neuromancer is a 1984 novel by William Gibson, a seminal work in the cyberpunk genre and the first winner of the science-fiction "triple crown" — the Nebula Award, the Philip K. Dick Award, and the Hugo Award.  It was Gibson's debut novel and the beginning of the Sprawl trilogy. The novel tells the story of a washed-up computer hacker hired by a mysterious employer to pull off the ultimate hack.

The Diamond Age: Or, A Young Lady's Illustrated Primer is a postcyberpunk novel by Neal Stephenson. It is to some extent a science fiction bildungsroman or coming-of-age story, focused on a young girl named Nell, and set in a future world in which nanotechnology affects all aspects of life. The novel deals with themes of education, social class, ethnicity, and the nature of artificial intelligence. The Diamond Age was first published in 1995 by Bantam Books, as a Bantam Spectra hardcover edition. In 1996, it won both the Hugo and Locus Awards, and was shortlisted for the Nebula and other awards.

Ahh great ! More good cyberpunk stories! Smiley

Rest I will read asap Smiley

About Ring - I only have seen a movie. I did not read a book.

Problems at MTGox are dragging the price down.

That is my #2 concern! my number #1 concern is the US government.
Russia, China.. there are many reasons I think.

When we talk about bitcoin price we must look wider.
Media, govs, people .. and propably more

love the artwork of hard boiled.  It's miller's best series.
I like it alot more than 300 or sin city.
Every couple of weeks i check the net for rumors of a movie.

I have this picture in poster size hanging on a wall since 10 years.

Artwork is sick (in a good way) Smiley Very nice poster indeed Smiley

I can't say anything more about those series because I know only a movie, but I must look at them closer. Smiley

9814  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which Bitcoin Client do you use and why ? on: February 18, 2014, 12:16:29 AM
bitcoin-qt  Grin

I encrypt wallet.dat w/15 character password using qt and have many backups

Best backup is a paper backup I guess.

All hdd and usb drivers might fail Smiley paper might burn Tongue but what is more realistic? Smiley

And you could be hit by a car tomorrow, or you might die in your sleep Cheesy If your paper wallet, stored in your desk, burns then your pc and whole house will probably go with it.
Only thing you can be sure of is a brainwallet. The question is, what if you have a stroke or something and forget?

Yeah, I am pretty sure that if you get hit hard enough by the car, the brain wallet may go out the window too.   But if you happen to be unlucky enough to get run over by a car, I think your bitcoin wallet is probably the least of your worries...

There is not yet know any method that will give you 100% undestrucrable backup Smiley
9815  Economy / Lending / Re: 1.5BTC loan, repay 1.65BTC this Thursday, Feb 20th on: February 18, 2014, 12:09:30 AM
Hi all. I have a pending buy at Coinbase for 1.5BTC that will be in my account this Thursday, Feb 20th.

I'm taking a risk by purchasing some mtgox btc from a user that wants to unload a few. I could wait until Thursday, but I believe the landscape will be much different by then.

I can verify any and all information requested, and am open to suggestions if you're interested in loaning.

I haven't got that much BTC but If I would be you - I would do not take that risk @ MtGox.

Be serious Smiley

How you will repay if you might wait like months for withdraw Tongue

I know it's a risk, but I'm willing to take it. I'd repay with my 1.5BTC that's coming in from Coinbase on Thursday.

Wish you luck with dealing ...

But you need to give some collateral or you will wait longer than till thursday for someone here to send you 1.5BTC.

Good luck!

Cu!
9816  Economy / Speculation / Re: What Just Happened to Bitcoin? on: February 18, 2014, 12:07:51 AM
It will go all the way down, 'cause nothing valid brought it up.

I don't agree at all.

Anyway it is like looking into stars and reading future.

Problems at MTGox are dragging the price down.

Sure they are. And "bad media" are doing the same.

But from a week I heard many good news for bitcoin and I believe price will go up soon.
