9961  Economy / Speculation / Re: Should I consider bitcoin as a means to store money, how much can I lose? on: August 08, 2015, 03:58:09 PM
NextTroll, if you have some free funds you don't need to spend right now, and thinking how to save this money and increase its value through smart investment, I would suggest you ''don't put all your eggs in one basket''.
Bitcoin can be great project if become mainstream in the near future.
If this does not happen can be a failure and bring great loss to everyone.
Invest in bitcoin just as much as you can afford to lose.
If I were you, remaining funds I would invest in gold, real estate or shares.
Bitcoin can be easily exchanged for money through many different exchangers.

9962  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Transactions speed prevent us from going to Mainstream ? on: August 08, 2015, 03:45:08 PM
I wanted to add that your 10 minutes are only an average. You could get a confirmation in 1 minute but it can take 45 minutes not seldom, or even a couple hours, very seldom.

You can't await someone waiting for that long. In that case, let's say a car was bought, the merchant would simply get a contract and the payment is done. He then waits for the payment to confirm. If it doesn't for some reason then he knows the person and can charge him afterwards.

This is very good example.
In fact, I had to wait a confirmation in my last bitcoin transaction for 5 or 6 hours!
I know that this is very rare case but it happens sometimes.
So, if you are planing to do some serious shopping, as buying a car or a gold ring, and you have to wait 5 or 6 hours to confirm the transaction, you'll probably give up on buying bitcoin and pay by credit card.
So, until we resolve this, bitcoin will never become mainstream.
9963  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Moroccan dies in suitcase while smuggled to Spain on: August 04, 2015, 08:40:23 PM
I don't even understand how someone could voluntarily put themselves into a suitcase or not stand it for long at least. The CIA used to use a torture method of locking people in large suitcases or boxes and you start to panic and overheat after a short while.

We can't understand it because we live good lives (the relatively good compared to the people of Africa) and we can not understand the misery and despair of the people of Africa.
What do you think, how much this man was desperate that he was willing to do such crazy thing?
I think that our governments should seriously address this problem and not only addressing the consequences of the problem but also causes.
If we can't solve the politic problems in countries such as Syria and Iraq, Europe will not be able to permanently solve the refugee crisis on its borders.
9964  Economy / Economics / Re: Why Bitcoin Could Be the Best Investment of the Century on: August 04, 2015, 08:26:09 PM
We still do not know the definitive answer to this question.
It is possible that bitcoin meet our expectations and become the best Investment of the century, but it is also possible that BTC does not meet our expectations fully.
Only time will tell Smiley
For now it seems that the growth of Bitcoin slowed and real profits (until now) are made only by those who have been involved from the very beginning.
Of course, if bitcoin becomes mainstream and globally accepted in the near future we will surely see the rapid growth of the value of Bitcoin and many of us, who hold greater value of bitcoin, will achieve significant earnings.
It is the hope of many bitcoin users, because frankly, most of us are here because of the money and profits and not because of the ideas or ideals.
9965  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think Bitcoin could bring about world peace? on: August 04, 2015, 08:10:57 PM
No, I think that bitcoin can bring about financial freedom.
World peace is something else entirely, and does not depend on material things or finances.
The main reasons for the wars in history were completely different: the fight for the territory of others, ideological conflicts or religious / racial hatred.
I don't think that bitcoin can help with that.
9966  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Israel to detain Jewish terror suspects without trial on: August 03, 2015, 06:20:07 AM
When politicians fail, conscientious people take moral responsibility.
Position of Binyamin Netanyahu is very unstable, he depends on the support level of radical Jews in parliament and therefore has to maintain a precarious balance between the maintenance of justice and the maintenance of power.
Therefore, the Jews will never be punished for their crimes against Palestinians but Palestinians will always be punished.
Also, Netanyahu will continue to build Jewish settlements in the Palestinian territories and the spiral of violence will also continue.
I don't see hope or solution for them now.
9967  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mainstream Adoption on: August 03, 2015, 06:12:03 AM
I think that before mainstream adoption bitcoin needs to change, should become easier, simpler and safer to use.
If, for example, we can't explain bitcoin in five minutes to old users, they will not use it.
We also need good infrastructure, a lot bitcoin ATM around the world, bitcoin debit cards widely accepted in the world, a lot ''big'' merchants accepting bitcoin etc.
9968  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Turkey finally joins the ISIS fight. Should we be worried? on: August 01, 2015, 11:04:29 AM
Yes, we should be worried.
It's obvious that for Turkey the main enemies in the region are in fact Kurds and not ISIS.
It seems that finally they have perfect excuse to legally cross into the territory of Syria and Iraq and fight with the Kurds.
Now it will be even more difficult to achieve peace and stability in the region, and conflict will deepen and become more intense.
There are no good news for people in that area, just more wars and conflicts.

9969  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How long did it take you to make 1 BTC? on: August 01, 2015, 10:55:16 AM
I needed about 6 months to make my first 1 BTC but I had different strategies to achieve that.
I didn't invest my own money here but find a way how to earn this bitcoin slowly, over time, mostly through signature campaigns.
I hope that this 1 BTC now will be worth a lot more later Smiley

9970  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Use cases. What do you actually use Bitcoin for? on: August 01, 2015, 10:40:40 AM
Most of my bitcoin funds I keep in the wallet, with hope to sell them later and earn some good profit, when value of BTC will increase significantly.
Some of BTC funds I invested in other online businesses and some bitcoin I cash out.

9971  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Putin: ‘Europe should be more independent, defend own interests’ on: July 30, 2015, 07:15:55 AM
It seems to me that Putin here plays a very clever game.
On the one hand he is trying to undermine the unity of the European countries and America and weaken the Atlantic alliance.
On the other hand trying to appear as a natural ally and friend of Europe.
In fact, Putin is trying to strengthen his political position and restore the former Russian influence in Europe.
His true intentions and policies can be seen in Ukraine and other neighboring countries.
9972  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is wealth boring? on: July 30, 2015, 07:08:59 AM
Wealth itself is not exciting or boring, does not bring happiness or unhappiness.
What people do with wealth determines how much they will be fulfilled or unfulfilled with their life.
If wealth is used in a positive way, by helping others, it can bring happiness and satisfaction in life.
If used only for mindless entertainment and spending on luxury, it is clear that sooner or later such a life become empty and unfulfilled, boring.
9973  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Assuming a regulated world, what would be illegal? on: July 30, 2015, 07:03:29 AM
I'm sure that even if I will try to report to authorities in my country about my earnings from bitcoin, they will have no idea what is bitcoin and how to calculate taxes from such earnings.
I tried last year to report my earnings from Internet passive programs but had great difficulties to find a proper way to report it because such earnings are on on their list Smiley
In the end I had to report these earnings as a freelance artist.
Therefore, can be illegal something that is not provided by law, something that the authorities have no idea?
I think that in many countries bitcoin is not illegal because the authorities still do not consider the bitcoin seriously and have not included it in their legislation. It's still one big gray area.
9974  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What's your opinion of gun control? on: July 29, 2015, 02:34:02 PM
More guns mean only more violence and insecurity, not vice versa.

I notice you didn't say more legal guns mean only more violence and insecurity...

Thanks for the warning, here is corrected sentence: More legal and illegal weapons (in the hands of citizens) means only more violence and insecurity, not vice versa.
9975  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What's your opinion of gun control? on: July 29, 2015, 01:10:24 PM
It seems to me that it is obvious that countries that do not have strict control of the sale and possession of weapons have more problems with crime and safety.
USA is very good example.
In America, the right to arms is a constitutional right but it is also a country with a lot of crime and murders.
On the other hand their neighbor country Canada has much stricter laws on gun ownership and a lot less crime, and the country is much safer for life.
I'm definitely for very strict gun control.
More guns mean only more violence and insecurity, not vice versa.
9976  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is your dream for bitcoin? What will it become? on: July 29, 2015, 01:01:48 PM
My dream is that bitcoin will become globally accepted currency and means of payment.
I hope that the value of bitcoin increase significantly in the future and that I will, in this way, solve many of my financial problems and become financially independent.
I hope that the Bitcoin ATM will be on every corner in the world, and that I will be able to travel around the world and pay all my expenses with bitcoin debit card.
I hope that this will become possible in the near future Smiley

9977  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The status of Bitcoin information in the World on: July 29, 2015, 12:52:25 PM
Unfortunately it is normal that people are usually skeptical of new ideas, especially if they are related to finance and the internet making money.
The Internet has so much frauds that is very difficult to distinguish what is good and what is bad.
I guess this will change when bitcoin becomes mainstream and the most important media begin to write positively about Bitcoin.
We also need many merchants to accept BTC.

9978  Other / Politics & Society / Re: POLL: 95 Percent of BBC Viewers Think Multiculturaism Has Failed on: July 28, 2015, 11:46:00 AM
Such polls usually have questionable credibility because people vote according to their mood and influenced by current news and events.
A year earlier, or a year later, the results of such a survey would surely have been different.
Ultimately, it's not really important what people think, but it is important what British politicians and government decide.
The survey results are often manipulated to achieve certain political goals.
9979  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: why you shouldn't trade Bitcoin on: July 28, 2015, 11:32:47 AM
OK, I agree with original suggestion in this thread, that is to risky to trade with BTC but I don't think that many BTC users have problem with it.
I think that most people here just collecting BTC with hope to sell it later for much better price and make good profit from it Smiley
Of course, this will not happen overnight and some users will probably lose patience and spend their bitcoins or cash out through exchangers.
For me this is a long-term game and right now I'm collecting some bitcoins for free, usually through signature campaigns, and keeping them in my wallet, with hope to earn very good profit from it later.
At least I didn't invest my own money here so I can relax and wait as long as necessary Smiley
I don't want to risk and loose my bitcoin through some risky trades but this is my thinking.

9980  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do Russians love Putin so much? on: July 26, 2015, 12:38:24 PM
I think the answer is obvious.
Russians are used to the size and strength of their country in the history and didn't easily accept the dissolution of the Soviet Union and the loss of their positions and power in the world.
Putin has renewed a global power and influence of Russia in the world and it seems that for the majority of Russians this is more important than their economy, daily life, living standards etc.
I think it is not easy to understand the mentality and mindset of the average Russian man and of course the absence of a strong opposition and a strong state propaganda makes a big role in creating the cult of Putin.
