I think that very often kids are much smarter than we think, and usually they more quickly accept new ideas and technologies than we did at their age. In my opinion, for a start it would be enough to explain them that BTC is virtual money and means of payment, which is slowly spreading globally. For more explanation we should wait until the children are a bit older and more mature.

I didn't donate directly with my BTC funds but with the funds I cash out from my BTC wallet. In my country, charity organization still don't accept BTC, so only way to donate them online is through paypal or credit cards, and for this I can't use BTC funds directly. Hopefully this will change very soon

The Turks very long avoided openly engaging in this conflict, probably hoping to be able to maintain the status quo. Now they probably realize that conflict is inevitable and decided to deal with ISIS and defeat them. I think that Isis made a big strategic mistake here because they created a new great and dangerous enemy. This is great news for all others, Kurds, Iraq, Syria etc.

yes, and in a strong and more fierce way, than gold, gold manipulation don't happen overnight like with bitcoin, when you suddenly see the price changing from 10-to 20 or more %, with gold this happen in a long time
much less destructive than that of bitcoin, you have time to respond to it, to not lose big money
In normal time this is true but when we have a major upheaval in world stock markets the value of gold and shares can really change a lot just in a few hours. I have some experience in Forex and I can tell you that even now the value of crude oil and gold changing a lot, even more than value of bitcoin. Can Bitcoins Price be manipulated like Gold is? In order to give a clear answer to this question we should know how much bitcoin have the largest investors. Large investors can manipulate anything, it is only a matter of interest and expected profit.

It is not possible that one country adopt bitcoin as its currency. With bitcoin it is not possible to do monetary policies and without that politics it is very hard to govern. ...
It is possible. There are many countries that do not have their own currency. No country will adopt bitcoin as its country, since its government cant control it and cant get something useful for them. The government is just a group of politician, not bitcoin enthusiast. I agree with this. No government wants something they can't control. How the state will conduct its own fiscal and budget policy if they can affect the value of their own currencies? This is simply impossible and unlikely scenario in the real politics. Bitcoin has been and will remain the currency of individuals, not the currency of government or state.

I think it is quite clear and understandable why is Putin against such a court. UN tribunal can discover many unpleasant facts for Russia and president Putin. MH17 Ukraine disaster was great tragedy but I'm afraid that public will never find out the full truth about it. Political interests are always ahead of the public interest.

I agree with you but right now most people see BTC only as investment. We are still very far from the point where the bitcoin really becomes much more than just virtual currency or investment, as it is now. Indeed I believe that bitcoin will one day become a true substitute for all world currencies, and it will help many people to become financially free, get rid from the banks etc. but still we have a lot of work to do until this happens. Many people in Africa, for example, still do not have the basic conditions to be able to use bitcoin, electricity and Internet.

LOL this was really funny to read Unfortunately, it seems that some 'big'' boss in Dell heard something about bitcoin and that a lot young people using it, and probably concluded that it would be a good idea for Dell to introduce Bitcoin and show that they follow the trends and desires of young customers. They didn't, however, educate their customer support about Bitcoin probably thinking that no one will use this method of payment and not realizing it too seriously. Now you can see the consequences of it and the whole company look unprofessional and frivolous.

War against ISIS is also an ideological war, ie. war for hearts and minds of young Muslims from that area and the entire Western world. It's a great test of multiculturalism and openness of Western, Christian world to the east and Muslims. ISIS wants just that, destroying of the very foundations of Western civilization, and it is multiculturalism, tolerance and acceptance of other faiths and nations. If Isis succeeds in making Western societies become hostile towards Muslims, then ISIS, regardless of the military situation in Iraq and Syria, achieved its main ideological goal, sowed the seed of conflict between Muslims and Christians, a clash of civilizations.

This is true and I guess there are a lot reasons for it. Today's society changed a lot in the past 50 or 60 years, including families, works, technologies etc. Christianity didn't change much and remained closed and unadjusted to the new time. Many scandals, including pedophilia, sex scandals, financial, etc. are really harming the reputation of Christianity. But the main reason for the decline of Christianity is that they could not provide the answers to numerous dilemmas and problems of modern man. They have not changed but everything around them has changed and so they become a relic of the past, something for old people, but not many young man or woman.

Value of BTC changing all the time and it's really very difficult to predict the value of BTC in the future. This is the main reason why people still see BTC mostly as investment, not as currency or possible replacement for paypal or other online payment services. I feel that most bitcoin users still don't trust BTC much (including merchants) and probably this is the main reason why we are still not mainstream. Hope that this situation will change soon. When most users starts using bitcoin to purchase products and services online, not as an investment, its value will eventually stabilize.

Interesting question, really. If you believe in something, have faith, whether it is automatically religion? I don't think so. You can also believe in your company, country, even spouse or kids but this is not connected with religion. People can even believe in God without need for religion. Religion is, by definition, institutional and includes church services, the priests, shared spiritual values etc. We can believe in bitcoin but bitcoin will never replace the institutional faith and service to God.

I think that we should not generalize people and rate them according to religion, race, nationality etc. I personally know some very good American people, as well as some very good people in other countries, regardless of their race, nationality, etc. I also know some very bad American people, as well as some very bad people in other countries, regardless of their race, nationality, etc. People should be judged by their character and not by race or nation. You can't choose your nationality or race, but you can choose what kind of person you will become.

I think that what is proposed in the title does not make much sense. Greeks may be angry with the German politicians or bankers, but what does that have to do with the ordinary German people or companies? Some of the workers in Germany are even Greeks themselves, or Turks, Bosnians and others? Should you punish them as well and why?
What about the Germans who wants to have holiday in Greece and spend their money there? Do you still think this is such good idea?

It's good news to hear that such globally influential person accepts and promotes bitcoin, even if it happens in Africa only. But, I don't understand why Bill Gates choose Africa for such promotion activity. He must be aware about infrastructure problems in Africa, and that many people still live there without Internet and electricity, so bitcoin is still not a solution for the masses. If Gates really wants to help people in Africa, he should first help with basic infrastructure problems there and then promote bitcoin to the masses.

I have friends in Africa and Asia and know very well, from personal experience, how difficult is to send money to them. They usually can't get even simple Visa card for example, or paypal account, and often have problems with losses of electricity and internet access. Western Union fees are very high, it's true, but in such third world countries this is often only way to send or receive money. Bitcoin is great solution for them, but before that they have to solve their infrastructure problems, otherwise they will have difficulties to use bitcoin. WU may also add bitcoin as their additional currency, sooner or later.

YES, because I believe scientific research and evidence on climate change. If scientists announce that they were wrong and misinterpreted their data, then I'll change my mind. But when I see how hot is these days at my home and country, somehow I do not think it will happen

What do you guys think about the world financial crisis many economists and other peofressionals will happen in the next 5-15 years. I have came to terms to expect it by 10 years. It is so depressing. It seems sometimes that we have world financial crisis every two years Different countries have the financial crisis this year, had a financial crisis last year and will have a financial crisis very soon in the future. Financial crisis, local or global, never affects all countries equally and we should be very careful with using the term 'global crisis'. It is certain that some form of global financial crisis will occur sooner or later, but I think it is impossible to predict when, because it depends on too many facts and events.

This is exactly my understanding as well. Greece can not avoid returning their debts, it's sure. Bitcoin can help average people financially and that they could bypass the banks and do not depend on them 100%. Even if Greece withdraws from the euro and decides to accept bitcoin as a new currency, they will still have to pay their debts in euros and dollars.

I will share my personal opinion here (if will be great if you share your final results with us).
Who will be interested to use bitcoin in the future? for what purpose?
1. Online gambling, no doubt. 2. Fast and secure sending money online (average users, specially from Africa). 3. People who want to get rid from the banks, specially young people in the West. 4. People who will in the Bitcoin see an opportunity to invest and profit.
