The kid is bs, he doest have shit, the media is rigged and terribad.  We decided we are going to take Dr. Nash's advice:

No, actually it seems like you decided to hijack the thread to try and show everyone how smart you are. Whether or not you are correct about this, I don't feel like reading a dissertation by you while trying to read this thread.

i thought the price market was . based on BTC/USD capitalizacion .. so if from the begining start with 1 millon of coins premined.. the price will be high?  this have no sense..

There is no pre-mine,  as it is explicitly stated. Where did you get the idea that there was a 1 million coin pre-mine?

I'm ready to get my assembly "refund" such as it is and be done with this crap already!

WFT is going on, and WHY NO UPDATE?! I'm trying to be "happy" with the offered measly 25% refund on assembly. But I'm quickly getting to the point where that's not gonna do it for me.

Steamboat - How about taking a few minutes to let us know what the FUCK is going on with the rest of the chip refunds, and the assembly refunds? Not to mention letting us know if chips have shipped. AND As for using my BOM parts for a future build - that is completely out of the question. I'll never send SB another dime. Lack of communication has ensured I'll never do business with SB again. I CERTAINLY have no interest in any future assembly projects he might offer.

And if I'm not getting a FULL assembly refund, I want every single BOM part, cable, and heat sink shipped to me. Furthermore, if I learn that SB is using MY parts for building ANY different product without first offering me a full refund, legal action will ensue.

Yofi screwed this up for everyone, it's true. But at this point, I think BS is actually doing worse than BitSyncom did as far as "updates". You're lack of simple updates is inexcusable.

I've been patient. I've been patient some more. I've tried to be positive though all the waiting. But now I'm of tired waiting. In fact, I'm fucking pissed!

IT'S WELL PAST TIME TO LET US KNOW WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON!

Considering that when you signed up it explicitly stated NO REFUNDS, you should be happy with the refund you have gotten and should really quit belly-aching, you sound like a 13 year old. Would you rather have ordered from Terrahash?

No refunds for chips.  I don't see why assembly can't be refunded (it wasn't outlined).  I'm with him, if I only get 25% refund I want the parts shipped to me.

I thought I read somewhere that this was an option. If you want your (semi) useless components, I am pretty sure you can have them, but why such a hurry? Got some
chips laying around? But that wasn't really my point. We could be getting NOTHING. Or 50% like Terrahash. Do people think all the senseless whining will make him want to give you more? He busted his ass because he was trying to  have us miners within days of receiving chips. Money was spent on our behalf, some of which cannot be recouped. Deal with it. I am not pissed, and do you know why? I didn't risk more than I could afford to lose on this EXTREMELY risky speculative venture.

It's unsettling to think the 'crowd sourced' funds for this massive project somehow are to be consumed for the good of the project with nothing to show for us.  We didn't pay an assembly set up fee, we paid an assembly fee.  It's a bizarre business model to take customer funds to prepare for a production run that doesn't mature, then tell customers China can't supply the last part so they're out of luck.  Granted, nonrefundable setup fees are typical with many products--but they're separate fees and the customer commits knowingly.  Meanwhile, the business has what we're led to believe is a nearly complete production line for future customers.  We are now invested in the production line that future customers will pay for a product with lower setup costs (since we already paid for the setup costs).  That could mean more profit for steamboat on future products.

Steamboat made decisions for his business without consulting those who funded his coffers.  If consulted, who knows what we may have decided.  I would have said don't spend our funds preparing for assembly, I'll risk longer assembly time and secure a 100% assembly refund if the deal goes south.  Instead steamboat spent our funds, hoping for the best, which typically is a business expenditure/risk.

First of all, assembly setup is PART of assembly. Would you rather the chips came in and then waited for parts to be purchased and gathered? You didn't realize when you signed up for SB's group buy that he was prepping and assembling everything to be able to basically just put in chips and then test the miners once assembly was finished? Did you not read the part where SB said he paid OVER retail PLUS expedited shipping costs to have everything ready when chips arrived? That's specifically why I chose this group buy, SB promised to have a short time between chip receipt and full miner in hand. This is a risk I PERSONALLY KNEW I WAS TAKING WHEN I SIGNED UP. You should have read a little closer, and you would have realized this as well.

Also, what part of ABSOLUTELY NO REFUNDS did you people not understand when signing up for this? Sure it's the right thing for him to do morally, but he is under NO obligation to refund even as much as he is. He explained the costs and why refunds cannot be 100% and I completely accept his explanation. I'd even wouldn't mind it if SB decided to take a bit just for his effort, which has been substantial. People got paid for doing work with your assembly money, get over it. If you couldn't afford to lose 100% of the money, you should have never risked it. Investing 101.

Care reformulating the question and giving the answer to everybody?

Care to stop feeding this troll? Look at his recent posts in this thread. Pure troll with no information (said he got AM's REAL website address) and no wit.

All while your baby Satoshi Dice continues to tank.

Let me put it this way: the representation of reality in terms of cartoons, which is to say anthropomorphized animals, makes retards think everything in the simplest of terms and stop there. Here's a newsflash: reality is a little more complex than "cat chases mouse" and "Policeman fined me for speeding so he's threatened by niggers".

Don't be a retard, dare to think. What if the reason I do what I do is that I actually know what the fuck I'm talking about and there's perfectly good reasons for it? What would they be? How well do they work with what I actually say? Congratulations, you're right on the path towards intellectual normalcy (normal but not common these days).

Wow, you quoted me several times, and each time pontificated beautifully while failing to address the actual points of the lines you quoted. Well done.

This quoted part is quite simple though. Sdice prices have fallen dramatically and stayed depressed for what, weeks now? Months? And dividends are laughable. Complicate that up for me a little bit? Is there some huge upgrade coming or influx of losing customers I don't know about that will skyrocket the price back up? Honestly if you have any insight, I will gladly take it into consideration, I am not brushing you off, just insanely curious about what complicates this issue so much. 3d my cartoon for me.

But this is OT and no need to clog up the thread, I actually originally just wanted to express my opinion of your analysis and PR methods, not necessarily the outcomes of said methods. Ad hom attacks against the weakest argument and least articulate people do not put you in a good light, IMO. That's all.
8  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: May 26, 2013, 08:18:59 PM
Here it says over 50% is not that bad and the attack is not worthwhile.

https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Weaknesses#Attacker_has_a_lot_of_computing_power

How is THIS:

"An attacker that controls more than 50% of the network's computing power can, for the time that he is in control, exclude and modify the ordering of transactions. This allows him to:

Reverse transactions that he sends while he's in control. This has the potential to double-spend transactions that previously had already been seen in the block chain.

Prevent some or all transactions from gaining any confirmations

Prevent some or all other miners from mining any valid blocks"

And THIS :

"if this attack is successfully executed, it will be difficult or impossible to "untangle" the mess created -- any changes the attacker makes might become permanent."

not that bad??? Are you from Bizarro World?

*edit: No offence implied.
9  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: May 25, 2013, 09:39:59 PM

Anywhere below 50 is fine.

Actually even at just over 30% of the network there is a decent chance to get six blocks in a row (the criteria for a 100% successful double spend attack). So we do not want to get anywhere near 50% or risk being seen as a danger to the network. Having 51% simply guarantees a successful attack. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

ROFL @ MPOE-PR, like always. Mad again because someone didn't choose your exchange? I am in no way saying you are wrong or right about this company, but everything you type seems to be FUD against competition that doesn't use your exchange, followed by ad hominem attacks when people disagree. (You really call people retards quite often.) And you REALLY like to talk shit and pick on the people who don't seem to know much, while ignoring the educated or semi-educated replies you get. All while your baby Satoshi Dice continues to tank. I haven't gotten SHIT for dividends from my SDice shares compared to other investments I have, nearly all of which you have trashed. You are worse at actual PR than Inaba, and only newbies listen to your FUD until they realize that is all you have to offer. At least from what I have seen. I haven't exactly gone back an read all of your posts, but the ones I do read make me laugh. One compliment though, you are a FUD master, even if you are terrible at PR.

Dear friedcat,

I do appreciate all your work but please answer the following:

Where are we hashing and at what rate atm? If solo, please explain what is going on.

How are the future deployment plans progressing? You promised a lot per week. What is going on, please?

How many Blades were sold? How many USB thingies were sold?

Why are your "updates" not answering questions everybody would like to be answered (no rocket science)?

I myself have a considerable amount invested in ASICMINER. If this attitude of ASICMINER continues, I will sell it all off.

If you simply read through this thread, you will find ALL of those answers, or reasons why they are not answered. How many fortune 500 companies give weekly updates rather than quarterly anyway? I'll wait while you put a list together. Go ahead and sell off your "considerable amount", I'll be ready to snatch it up when you make that mistake.
14  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: May 18, 2013, 07:59:54 PM
Regarding the transaction fees, it is indeed difficult to determine what will happen, but if they aren't high enough to provide incentive for the miners, then they won't go through. Funny thing that.. we may end up mining not because of the transaction fees but because failure to mine means our existing bitcoins may become worthless.

No one will mine with transaction fees not at least equaling out to the amount of money via electricity going in, and therefore simply will not accept tx fees below a market set amount, which will cover costs + profit. Only the small minority with "free" energy will be able to afford not to do so, and eventually I'm sure landlords, business owners etc, will all wise up. Mining farms will be centralized near the cheapest sources of energy.  Holy conspiracy theories Batman, what if Satoshi was trying to get the free market to develop free or reduce the cost of energy by giving an incentive to make energy delivery more efficient?

*edit: Even if that is just a side effect, it would be a good one...

I'm interested in what happened in Africa in the 1990's and 2000's. In many parts there infrastructure is poor, and liable to being unmaintained, stolen, or destroyed by conflict. Many parts of Africa have good mobile phone networks, though, as they're relatively cheap to deploy and can be deployed in numbers to provide redundancy (or even just moved around on trucks). If you said to a villager in many parts of Africa that his mobile phone can generate $2 a day if it does Bitcoin, he'd probably offer his daughter to you.

I've had a couple more thoughts riffing on this idea over a glass of wine. Yes, it is after 5 where I am.  Smiley

Make the chips as cheap as possible, maybe even *pay* mobile phone makers to bundle them into handsets.

Consider collaborating with other leading Bitcoin miners to fund development. Design goals are the best performance possible with low power. It will be designed to go into a cheap phone, so sleek design is not so important, i.e., the phone might be a "brick" with a larger battery.

Great idea. The bitcoins on phone can be changed to credit automatically. A phne that makes its own free credit.

In some places in Africa, cell phone minutes are actually used as a type of currency. Once someone figures out how to implement this idea (although I am skeptical until batteries can put out a lot more juice), OR trade bitcoins via SMS, I think we will have a MASSIVE market that opens up in Africa.

Running 2500 mh/s when I have both rigs up to full power, been working out pretty decently. I have made enough to get a good handful of Asicminer shares, so I am happy. I just wish I had kept mining every day since 2011 when I was making .75 btc a day with my 5830. Not even mining all day.

Oh and with the hashrate changes due to chain jumping, both the bitcoin and litecoin networks are left less secure in the process of weeding out the alts.
