no pool alive = no miner handle trx = coin dead... goodbye Fast..
Actually I could not disagree with you more Azzalea25, I have been mining this coin for a few months now and it works great.  Pool operators may come and go but solo mining still works great for this coin.  It also hard to believe that it is working after almost 5 years in operation.

If you look now the difficulty is at over 20, which is very good compared to other coins that struggle to get 1 or 2.

Sounds like you might be a Livecoin troll wishing to drop the price to pick up more.  Please do, even at this price this coin is a bargain!

Fastcoin major long HODL.

I can't get the blockchain to sync either.  I'm a bit concerned because my past experience with livecoin isn't good when coins have issues.  I feel like things were going great with FST up until the "big announcement".  Things like a functioning desktop wallet that everyone can use without hours asking questions and a blockchain explorer that works are miss.  I'm starting to get the feeling that if we pulled back the curtain on this coin the blockchain wouldn't look particularly healthy.  I'm certainly not an expert but these problems persist and that is become concerning.  Hopefully I'm wrong....
Hi Koover,

Did you try installing the 8.7.2 wallet work around as they suggested?  You can download that wallet here...

https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B37Llt3dDAzHczdVMkk3dE16aU0

Its working great for me, I bought more coins today and was able to send coins from the exchange to my wallet with no issue.

Today after loading the wallet, it stopped synchronizing. There are 12 active connections, but the source of the blocks is unavailable

Thank you again for your patience everyone as our support team continues to investigate this issue.

We would like to thank community member "CryptoSecure" for his contribution and providing a "work around fix" for users who are experiencing the above reported syncing issue.

Please refer to the following link below for more details.

I downloaded the latest Windows Wallet version but there is no source for blocks available to synchronise. Other coins with the same Walllet software are synchronising automatically. With big upcoming events it would be very great if Fastcoin also synchronise the wallet automatically which make it more user friendly for the mass.

The blockexplorer doesn't seem to be working. It's stuck at block 717841 (which was a long time ago).
Any updates on this?
Hi Cryptao,

Yes I actually thought that myself, because I keep checking it as well ;-)

It would appear that way, but it actually is moving forward, just very slowly.

You can contact "Block Experts" directly here as I think they have my email on a SPAM list by now ;-) https://support.blockexperts.com/

Well spotted, vampirus and Stouse49.

I wonder if all these inconsistent size limits are the reason that the couple of blocks I successfully mined seem to have been rejected by the network. The first was orphaned immediately, but with the second, other people's blocks continued to be received from the network (as orphans), until about 5 minutes later, when a reorg quietly orphaned the block I'd found. It seemed unusual that my client went off on its own fork, and didn't immediately recognise the other blocks as being on a better chain.

I guess that some clients may accept a larger block (or a block with large transactions) as normal, whereas others (running a different version) may outright reject it. If so, we may have had a temporary fork as one set of miners extended the "main" chain, and another (running a different version) extended "my" chain. That would explain why it took a few minutes to reach a consensus and cleanly override the block I mined.

how to solve this issue? is that something devs can fix in there code? just want to be sure my transactions are going through ;-P

thanks
Thanks for your info on this Zimtente,

If I can chime in here a bit, just wanted you and everyone to know that I am not a technical expert, however I can say that I have been using Fastcoin for over a month now and I have had no issues sending and receiving coins in and out of my wallet.  I have purchased coins on both Exchanges https://www.livecoin.net/ and https://www.cryptopia.co.nz and all of my transactions have processed correctly each and every-time.

I did find the following post within the Fastcointalk.org forum

http://www.fastcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1116.msg6657#msg6657

that you may find useful in understand a bit more on how transactions are being processed and what makes Fastcoin different from Bitcoin for example.

All my Best

I have transactions in my wallet that are stuck transfers out of cryptsy. Is there a way to get them to process through?

Sample txid? If the inputs are valid (which presumably they are if the tx is in the mempool) then it may be possible to push that through by mining a block with a modified client.

I only have about 30MH/s of mining power but I can give it a go.

If there were stuck transactions, they might have been in the mempool for a while and they might be in the original wallet file.  If you post or send the tx id to me, I can see if it was in the original wallet file.  But it will take up to several days for me to figure it out.  If you could get the transaction id, and then use the debug console to run the "gettransaction [txid]" command, that output will help me find it faster.  This action will in no way guarantee that you will get your coins back.

update:  gnode sent the transaction id's.  They correspond to error messages in the debug.log when I start up the client with the fresh cryptsy wallet:

Code:
ERROR: AcceptToMemoryPool : nonstandard transaction: tx-size: 175356

In the next week or so, I will see if I can get the transaction information by modifying the fastcoin code to output the entire transaction to the debug.log.
Stouse49,

Thanks for your comments here, it is very useful for us "Non Techies" to try and understand what is going on.  Just curious, if you don't mind me asking, in your case with Cryptsy, how did you get your FST wallet from them?  In other words did they send you a backup of your wallet file?

If so what did you have to do to get a copy of that wallet file?

Was this part of the bankruptcy proceedings, did you need a court order?  It would seem to me that this is the kind of thing that regulators would need to better understand in order to better help protect Cryptocurrency investors in this newly evolving space.

Sorry for all the questions, the seniors and I would like to better understand these things before we start investing any significant amounts of our retirement capital.

Are you joking? Crypsty went BK 2 years ago!

Stouse49 has the Cryptsy FST wallet. Lucky him.

Thanks for any help you can give me. I tried to get my 1.5 million FST coins off cryptsy but there were problems with the transactions and they wouldn't answer my support requests, (surprise!!)

Thanks for your post Gnode,

I hope that you get your coin's back!  It's my understanding that its important for investors in cryptocurrencies to hold their own wallet's correct?  What I mean by this is to have their personal and private keys in their own possession.  When you hold your coin's on the exchanges, you risk loosing them should the Exchange close down as was the case with Cryptsy and Mt.Gox

Just out of curiosity, what are future expectations for Fastcoin and what is a realistic future price?

Hi Robb1649,

I am no expert in this space, but this is what I found some analyst's think may be the longer term potential

Sorry to make this post an omnibus but is there a faster way to sync up the wallet?

If there is can you direct me to the post for the solution (I've seem to have gotten lost in the thread).

Also just a further set of observations the website looks awesome better than I remember. But looking as someone from the outside there is very little information about fastcoin and the fastcoin foundation. There is an faq, but it leads to http://www.fastcointalk.org/ which I believe is not the best way to answer questions for someone who is just finding out about the currency, also after searching the forum seems a bit underutilized. I think there should be a more descriptive message on how and why fastcoin is a great altcurrency. Not just saying that its fast, but why it is fast with more of the technical details broken down. This would help people to understand how this is a more effective currency for commerce.

I hope this might help you...

Video looks ok, music is bad indeed.

I am pretty new in the cryptobusiness and i bought some fastcoins as it seems to be the fastest transaction coin.
Nowadays time is one of the most valuable things therefore i think fastcoin should grow. Now my question: Why isn't it more popular. If it's so much faster than any other crypto why no big players pay attention on this coin?
I really wonder if i missed some disadvantages the coin has beside an 3 year period with sleeping devs.

Mausi
Hello Mausi,

Thanks for your question,

As in all markets, being able to effectively communicate this technical advantage, sometimes comes down to marketing.  Please note, this is especially true for our relatively young Cryptocurrency space.  Try to look at it like a crowded group of people all yelling at each other at the same time in an echo chamber.  To further the point, everyone yelling is more keen on being heard then to being listen to, and to top it off in that echo chamber you have Bitcoin with a Bullhorn ;-).

That is kind of what is going in on our space.  Hope that makes sense...

Another analogy you might want to consider could be the BETA vs VHS analogy (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Videotape_format_war) not sure if you are familiar with this comparison as I am certainly dating myself now, but if you reference this example you will see that BETA was considered to be "Technically" superior to VHS, yet VHS came out on top in the market place, largely due to marketing efforts.

Although the FastCoin Foundation does have funds available to it to assist with Marketing efforts, at this point the Foundation would rather focus on innovation and forming meaningful partnerships with those funds then to start a shouting match in a somewhat already noisy chamber.

We do realize that day may come when we will be forced to do so, however we feel that may not be for several years from now as the larger top 10 Tier cap Crypto's battle it out with somewhat deeper marketing budgets.

Hope that may make sense and thank you for your support.

Sincerely

/C

PS Just an FYI for all community members, I don't generally like to post in this area for these types of technical issues, if you are running a Full Node Wallet client on your PC you can download the latest FULL FastCoin Blockchain here...

https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B37Llt3dDAzHTktRRFpzSlJaVzA

If you have installed your wallet for the very first time you may find this download useful to help speed up your initial sync to the network.  For those that are not technically savvy more in-depth instructions are provided in our Forum at www.fastcointalk.org
Hi SolemUmbra,

Sorry I am not very technical, but I looked back on this forum's pages (68) to be exact, and found the following link posted by Cheetahx, I think he is one of the founders of the coin?  I think the link above should help you sync your wallet faster?

You might want to give it a try...Smiley

It is great

Thanks for your suggestion orco#2,

I recently posted a request to have FastCoin block explorer added to the site as you mentioned.

http://www.fastcointalk.org is absolute dead forum? Nothing happens there and here. Any potential for this coin?

Actually the Fastcoin forum team members were very responsive to me, not sure what you might be looking for?

Did you register with them?

I think this coin has great potential when you compare it to everything else that's out there.
