1  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Kucoin exchange to start paying Value-Added Tax to Nigeria government on: Today at 12:35:31 PM
You are the only one that has answered the question that I had in my which is - Now that they have introduced VAT on every transaction, does it now mean that the bank on crypto trading with banks have been lifted? If not it is just stupid and I agree that we should all boycott KuCoin.

My question, if you or anyone can answer it is, as someone who switched to ByBit when these exchanges decided to delist the Naira pair from their platform, how will this affect ByBit. Are they going to now start charging the VAT on every crypto transaction or will they continue the way they have been? And if they don't do you think the government will come for them?

Thank you.

If Bybit decided to adopt the VAT tax for Nigerians, I don't think any Nigerian would object as long as the Naira p2p trading marketplace remains open for business. I use Bybit, and I don't mind if they start charging us for VAT fees.

They stood by us when other exchanges abandoned us, and the VAT tax percentage isn't too high because it's charged based on transaction fees rather than transaction amounts. So, if you withdraw USDT for a $1 fee, you'll be charged based on that fees, so you'll end up spending less than $2 on each transaction.

Everyone should boycott KuCoin - They didn't hesitate to delist Naira pairs and Naira p2p marketplace when the CBN ordered them to and now they're the first exchange to implement VAT tax on Nigerians transactions. If our Govemment are still hunting crypto traders at home, they do not deserve our tax. They must legalize crypto trading with banks at home before demanding our tax.
Baba wetin you cap make a lot of sense but no forget say KuCoin no get power to fight Nigerian government. So I no go too blame them for delisting Naira immediately because na government give the order.

The memo was sent to all Cex exchanges offering Naira p2p trading and only few of the with higher volume complied, Bybit and the rest didn't bend to their demand.

I hope that everybody that was actively gunning for regulation of crypto in Nigeria will embrace this latest development. What most people don't know is that as time goes on, the value added tax charged will get bumped up and become higher and higher. Now that crypto is getting taxed, is it safe to say that P2P markets will come back and that law enforcement agencies like Police and EFCC  will finally let anyone trading or indulging in crypto at peace? Except that is one of the many benefits we get to ensure, then I hope that it was worth it.

Tax is good, but if the Naira trading pairs isn't coming back most exchanges will not comply, you can't be asking for tax on other crypto assets while kicking your own currency pairs out of the market. There would be a lot of money from tax to subsidize the Naira if they legalize crypto trading and allow naira p2p marketplace on all exchanges.
4  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⭐⚽⭐ Sportsbet's Bitcointalk Sports Fanatics League (BSFL) – 10000$ rewards ⭐⚽⭐ on: July 04, 2024, 09:27:38 PM
Division 3 is grassroots where news users and mediocre teams are trained how to play BSFL. Wish we could have an entry fee but that place is dusty for real.

Spare a thought for us dusty teams in Division 3. I started in Division 1 and had two relegations Cheesy
I lost in the play off final to try and get back to Division 2 last season (season 3). It’s hard to get out of this dusty league man.

You know what, most people probably wouldn’t agree with me but I’d rather be like the Super League (remember European teams trying to break away and form a league with the biggest, wealthiest clubs) where maybe there was a BFSL League with a much higher joining fee with no relegations, the elite. It might be the only way I am ever in the top league again, with no relegation Grin

Division 2 is boring too it feels like I was playing with only 3 humans and 13 robots , no side bets, no banter,.I can't imagine what you're suffering with those farmers down there..... We could create a master league with 5-10 bottlers willing to donate 1.5mbtc and split the pool prize between 1-2 places (1st 10mbtc, 2nd 5mbtc), with no relegation, promotion, cup break, pussies, or random sports questions (just football, tennis, and basketball questions). This could be the motivation I need to stick around for the next season.

@goodpunt is ready to spend some coins, that makes us 3 teams already with 7 slots left. Trofo already suggested similar solution to cure our nightmares.
5  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⭐⚽⭐ Sportsbet's Bitcointalk Sports Fanatics League (BSFL) – 10000$ rewards ⭐⚽⭐ on: July 04, 2024, 06:49:14 PM
That sounds like a very nice addition and will surely keep following BSFL from the outside.
And I personally like the idea from the Sheriff regarding entry fee for Division 3 and hope that it can maybe implemented in the near future.

It's going to be a tough one for sure because when we had the fee entry for Div2 discussion, almost 98% were ready to pay, we didn't have any strong opposition, and it was way too easy because the sign up fees were deducted from our prize except for those who were relegated to Div2 from Div1 and paid from their own wallet. Most of the current div3 participants do not even exist on the forum; they appear on Sunday or Monday, write answers, and then disappear until the next match day.

Division 3 is grassroots where new users and mediocre teams are trained how to play BSFL. Wish we could have an entry fee but that place is dusty for real.

Edit: snake beat me to it...... ^^^^

You can't be hunting us, hunting our bank and still demand tax on what you hate us do. If you're still using KuCoin you're risking your personal Data and privacy.
8  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: Naija board needs more merit source on: July 04, 2024, 10:54:13 AM
There is something that I have observed here even if I am not active on the forum, I normally come check the if I am less busy. If truly 50 merits is allocated to BrainBoss and Igebotz are you guys not sending it out?or is the post not quality enough to receive merits?
However, I am not questioning the authorities.

Take a look at my "merit sent" history to get your answer - the percentage I have is merely a drop in the ocean; it only lasted a few days, and this thread is already full with quality discussion that deserves many merits, but it isn't enough. Merit source is not granted based just on reputation; it is given based on your distribution rate, and if your "sent merits" are less than 80% to the board you're applying for, it's a waste of time because nothing will change even if you're awarded those sources..

We already have two, it's open for anyone to apply, having multiple source would do the board more good than bad. While Charles-Tim application is pending I will like to see others apply too. They might be lucky.

While discussing please we should also remember the Rules. No.2

We're always thinking on how to add something extra to Div3 without taking prizes from top divisions and this seems on point - if you have a perfect season you won't win just the promotion to Div2 - you can also win a prize worthy of a top half Div1 club.

We handled it without removing anything from the top division by just creating a smaller fee for Div2. Perhaps Div3 has developed enough balls beneath the dick to start caring for themselves by paying a small entry fee.

I don't want this to sound like I'm suggesting an entry fee wherever I go; I'm just concerned about you guys....

We will keep both the regular league H2H format and the Cup as it was currently.
We will simply add LMS side competition that will have a small part of the prize pool, but will still be attractive to play.

In LMS side event there will not be any league limitations, everybody will play together and the guy with the most total points (those that we use for freebet settlements now) after 15 rounds will be the champion.
Lowest rated players will be eliminated, there will be rebuys but will be small (probably 0,25 mBTC for rounds 1-5, 0,5 mBTC for rounds 6-10 and 1mBTC for rounds 11-15). We still need to define the rebuys, but 15 rounds will be perfect for a format like this - EURO has 7 and it proved to be a bit too short.

Interesting, but you did not specify whether it is a free entry or not. Given that it has a longer duration than euros and there are no side attractions (free bets for specific stages), don't you think some participants may lose interest and will not be motivated to rebuy in?

Secondly, creating 20 questions weekly for both the main league and LMS ( if I'm correct ) would be double the work for you guys. It would be better fit for cup games. This way, you save a lot of trouble and money. Imo

@cryptofrka and Trofo
Hope it's not too early but wanted to announce that I will dissolve my team too....enjoyed the competition and thanks for letting me participate in BSFL but all good things must unfortunately come to an end Smiley

Sure thing man, you know where to find us if you decide to come back.

From next season LMS format will be added to BSFL to encourage Division 3 players to stay with us - with that and the Cup there will be plenty of rewards to be won even if you're a lower Division team.

Even the Sheriff is not immune to the smell of new money. There's nothing better to fill his pool with.

Still wondering how you guys plan to integrate the LMS into BSFL but it would be really nice idea if it's implemented into the cup tournament ( the new cup format)

Except for Guehi, whom I intend to keep, my team is set up, and if 80% of my expectations are met in this round, I will not be needing a WC. I only have two knockedout players on my team and 3FT to spend.

I simply need to sustain momentum in this round, and you're screwed; the top place appears unlikely, but not impossible.

I wanna make a full switch. I have a decent team but if the games turn out how I think they would German and Spanish defenders won't be worth much and neither will Portuguese and French defenders.
I'm considering shuffling it all for QF and then hoping that for SF it goes my way.

How many transfers do we have for the semifinal round?

I'm thinking about balancing Germany and Spain assets; I now have 3 Spain pain and 2 Germany; it's a 50-50 game and one must go home, so balancing the players on both sides will have little impact on the semi-final squad.

4FT for Semis.....

I like Simon; he's really good with the ball and can easily break through opponents, but shooting to save his life is where he draws the line. He's on my watchlist, and I'm thinking about going for him, but I also have Depay on my list. My main issue is Guehi; I'm considering keeping him now that I'm no longer with WC since I thought England would advance to the next round.

Had another fantastic week- was close to winning yet another bonus  Grin

You don't have a WC anymore? Boy, you're going down.
You had a great round yeah, but without WC I feel I have an edge to win our duel - still deciding whether to use it now or for the semifinals.

I wouldn't keep Guehi - but it all depends on what you want from your picks. I have a good team but am not satisfied considering the matchups that we have.

I know how it feels, but it's like one of those things. Just do it, until you can do it better. Be like me in FPL, there for no other reason than to give me some kind of justification to be "around" haha.

Stake.com campaign? That place needs a cleanup and you're the perfect guy for it! Don't forget your brothers when you are rich from your big project man Wink

The Cro2 snake blood is too strong, and once aboard, disembarking from the ship is extremely difficult. I'm still considering my options, but I might come over and stay for the purpose of BSFL having a "Sherrif," even if it means sharing free points every week.

Don't worry, I'm working on a larger house, so when you come, you'll have a wonderful pool to swim in.

Working on taking my management to the next level BTW.

Thank you Brazil for ruining my freebet, won 1.5mbt with the last two euros games and put everything on fuckin Brazil. I deserve the pain for not listening to Ronaldinho.

Please can someone confirm this post for me- sounds like mixture of Chatbots with little human efforts.

As a Nigerian bitcoiner, navigating the volatile cryptocurrency market can be challenging. With prices fluctuating rapidly, it's wise to prioritize safety and adopt strategies to minimize losses during dips.

⚫ Spread your investments across various assets, including stablecoins, to reduce exposure to market fluctuations.

⚫ Set price alerts to buy or sell when prices reach certain levels, and always stay informed about market movements.

⚫ Choose popular, well-established, and secure exchanges to buy, sell, and store your bitcoins.

⚫ Add an extra layer of security to your accounts to protect your investments, such as two-factor authentication.

⚫ Avoid investing more than you can afford to lose, and prioritize long-term growth over quick profits.

⚫ Consider dollar-cost averaging by investing fixed amounts at regular intervals, regardless of the market's performance.

⚫ Very important: Keep personal information private. Protect your identity and financial information to avoid fraud and scams.

You can play safe and invest wisely in the bitcoin market as a Nigerian by prioritizing security, staying informed, and investing wisely. What do you think?

Simons could have gotten you way more. Don't look at his highlights, he needs so much time to prepare for shooting, if he knew how to shoot with the first touch I think he could have netted 2 goals.

I really like him, I've been tracking him for a few years already.
I agree with what you said, he's really good technically and therefore trusts himself to take too many unnecessary touches.

I like Simon; he's really good with the ball and can easily break through opponents, but shooting to save his life is where he draws the line. And my padi Igebotz come on man, don't make me feel like life is not worth living anymore. Stay with the pain, and be with us today and forever! Yes I know you said BSFL but I am saying it here as well.

Trust me, I'm not retiring because I was relegated and will be playing against farmers next season on a cold Thursday night. It just doesn't feel like I'm giving my all anymore, with limited time to conduct research and so on. I'm currently working on a large project offline + with Stake.com management and all that. If the project is completed by the time BSFL resumes, I will surely be on the shit for real.

BTW how did I went from 1 point to 4 points on just two questions? Hahah that's another free bet... I've already cooked the last one with Turkey.
19  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: Naija board needs more merit source on: July 02, 2024, 12:46:00 PM
True, the merits per post ratio is quite low when compared to the number of posts and active users; my source merit is less than 10% of total posts every month, and Brainboss, a patroller source, does not have enough sources either. We don't need another merit source; what we do need, and what I recently asked from theymos, is a boost for both myself and Brainboss, who has been extremely helpful.
I see this to be biased as you know my intention. You always know my intention is to be a merit source. I visit Nigeria local board always and I read post there quite often. If theymos accept me as a merit source or not, that is not a problem. He has always managed this forum in a way good posts are prevailing. But I will always let him know my intention that I can be a good merit source for Nigeria local board and also for the English board. Even if we have three merit sources, we can distribute the merit more appropriately.

I'm not sure whether you're aware that CB was reassigned to the local board as a merit source, thus we now have two sources on the Nigeria Local on theymos's list. Although he stated that he first overestimated the Nigeria Local (activity-wise) and that the allocation he gave me would be sufficient given that we already had CB, he was wrong. My last request was a top up to the existing source, but that would not prevent him from creating another source if he deemed it essential.

Your request is between you and Theymos; if he thinks you're a good fit and needs to add another source to the local board, he'll do it without my help or advice. Everyone understands how important you are to the board, without a doubt, yet there are other issues over which I have no control, such as the merit source.

I have no chance of promotion but I'll have fun spanking Igebotz. Call my agent for a sidebet as well, man.

BSFL Sherrif farewell....... (Crying)

I'm not going to waste the last round doing research for a meaningless match; it could have been a fantastic matchup if I hadn't dropped points in MD13. I am not in the mood for a side bet right now, so I will pass on this. This isn't me being a chicken; I'm simply betting responsibly. Grin It was another wonderful season, perhaps not what I had hoped for after missing out on promotion last season, but it is what it is. I'm delighted to have been a part of the BSFL since its creation, and to have been one of the 13 golden teams in Division 1 who believed the entire thing was worth paying for.

I also proposed a fee for Div2 teams, as well as some sort of penalty for late submission. I'm not taking credit for any of this; the main credit goes to the Cro2 team for implementing and improving on my original proposals. I'm confident that the next BSFL Sherrif will be more vocal, propose additional rules to make things better, and keep the snakes out of the box.

Did I also proposed the use of logo? Can't really remember that one but had opinion on everything  Grin

This is probably the last dance for me - I could do a buwaytress( not keeping to retirement) who knows.....

Thank you.....
