1  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Being hesitant could make or break you. on: Today at 02:21:51 PM
What's the best way to overcome the problems of uncertainty and hesitation when determining an amount to wager?
i always stick with the mindset that i would only bet what i can afford to lose no matter how sure i am with my bet it could still go wrong and make me lose everything

this way i can make sure that i am confident with whatever i bet on even if i win i just make sure to not dwell on the what ifs and accept my decision
2  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Be careful with people's money on: July 14, 2024, 03:52:21 AM
This has been a problem foe unfaithful married couples families and in most time the problem or the gambling comes from a woman. When her husband gave her money to go to the market to buy some food items for the house, she used it to play gamble thinking that should would double the money so she could buy more things in the market and she end up losing all the money in the gambling and go home empty hand.
Man or woman, some really gamble irresponsibly.

Maybe this is your personal experience? Because a lot of what I have seen it is the husband that are more into gambling not the wife.

And another worse story of it is that students who are gamblers used their school fees to gamble and loss all to gamble. And the best way to save those money be a someone's money or money that he or she wants to use it to do important is to avoid gambling at all cost at that time.
I have seen this happen many times as a parent we should make sure that our kids know better. I think not being able to trust them to do the right thing is an indication that I have failed to teach my children properly
3  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 🔴🔴BREAKING NEWS! Attempt has been made on President Trumps life🔴🔴 on: July 14, 2024, 02:19:35 AM
This is something I was not expecting to see, to be honest, this election cycle is getting wilder and wilder.
not really… knowing how every politician is very much willing to send out a bullet just to take someone else out  or sometimes in even worse cases take themselves out

i do not condone violence but we can also consider that this was all an elaborate act and plan of trump now everyone is sympathizing with him and even biden has released a statement about this stating he is glad of the safety of trump
4  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What’s better to make a good profit - Trading or Gambling? on: July 13, 2024, 09:21:47 AM
There are different kinds of trading out there and one that stuck with me was leverage trading. For one particular reason is that they say that leverage trading which is basically borrowing money from an exchange to trade is basically a gamble.

You are betting money that you do not have. I guess both trading and gambling have a lot more in common than most people think. It is all speculative but gambling is the one seen as a more dangerous and less rewarding than the two.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A New Crypto Trend for Telegram Users on: July 13, 2024, 09:02:37 AM
Not sure where all this is leading to in the crypto revolution. Are these precursors for Bitcoin Bull run or one of those trends that sweeps the blockchain ecosystem
I am sure that many of these projects are created for the sole purpose of profit however I am also quite confident that at least one would be able to actually bring something to the table and change the crypto scene for the better.

if it is profit you are concerned about then development and innovation should not be the top concern for you just go ahead and participate in every project no matter how senseless for the lack of a better word they may be
6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Making bitcoin more sustainable through change in fee structure on: July 12, 2024, 12:53:12 PM
Do we make it a set percentage of the total number of satoshis being spent? Like 1 percent or is that too simplistic and it needs to be some type of thing that is adjusted by bitcoin miners through a consensus mechanism?
I think it is clever and could be effective if the transaction fees depended on the value of bitcoin/satoshi of each transaction instead of the size of it. It proposes a lot of advantages one being it creates a fairer system that the more you can spend on btc the more you can spend on tx fees.

Economically speaking it’s better to have this kind of system however a disadvantage I can think of would lean towards people who are only to do small transactions. Miners might not be so eager to process their transactions knowing how much would they benefit from it.

I guess we can try and incorporate this idea with the existing one without erasing the one we have right now.
7  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The probability is unimaginable! on: July 12, 2024, 12:20:35 PM
That means he is counting. He knows how much he has lost and that is why he ain't that happy anymore even if he hits a big multiplier.
we don’t know whether this was his first time or not i mean if he has been purchasing tickets and failing he must have hoped that at some point he’ll finally win it and should have been happier when he finally did because if he knows how much he has lost then why continue?

is 1,500 usd the jackpot price? perhaps he’s disappointed that it is kinda low lol i mean it is a huge amount especially if gotten for free but i wouldn’t be exactly jumping on skies just yet if i win this much no matter how much i have spent on tickets

maybe the man is just really peculiar, who knows?
8  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling with stablecoins, Fiat, or crypto? on: July 11, 2024, 06:49:53 AM
Personally, I like to gamble with crypto not only because it's "KYC-free", but also because it represents freedom. The only downside is market volatility.
Its volatility can also be an upside actually.

Imagine if you win some crypto and then its price hikes up, did you not only get profit from gambling but you also earned some profit from holding such crypto. There’s a lot of crypto out there not only bitcoin so if you think that bitcoin’s price is too high or too volatile you can always try to stick with much cheaper coins.

Using fiat requires you to connect your bank or card or whatever payment method it is that has your fiat in it which typically in online casinos, not a lot of people appreciate.

9  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Lightning versus the Liquid network on: July 11, 2024, 06:28:59 AM
Lightning network is BTC. I know this.
Liquid network is L-BTC which I always see as an altcoin.

Is the liquid network bitcoin or altcoin?
I do not entirely consider it as an altcoin as it is not totally separate from bitcoin main chain.

At best it is a token but since it is still connected to bitcoin, I would not consider it as an altcoin. I can compare it to ethereum's many networks. It is still ethereum but in different networks so that you can avoid the high gas fees of ethereum main chain.
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What Do You Like Best About Bitcoin And Which Coin is Second Best? on: July 10, 2024, 03:30:45 AM
I know nearly everyone here places Bitcoin head and shoulders above all other coins. For me, the crypto I loved best was Monero due to its privacy features. Unfortunately, it seems to be the digital asset that every government hates. To me, it is the next best after Bitcoin BTC.
Just like how you like monero for its privacy features, our second favorite would depend on what we are using that particular coin/token for. If your priority is low transaction fees then coins like ethereum might be out of the picture already but it can be a good choice if you are looking for some profit as it is follows bitcoin in terms of marketcap.

What do you like best about BTC and other coins? Which has been your favorite and second-best?
What I like about bitcoin is the profit I make with it as right now it is my main purpose for investing in bitcoin. If you are using it for daily purposes, it is understandable that high transaction fees may frustrate you.
11  Economy / Economics / Re: People are more experinced and smart now fud don't work on: July 09, 2024, 08:19:03 AM
People are more experinced and smart it's not easy for bigger financial instutions to fool people.
When something don't work it got be changed people not fooled in anymore.
I agree and disagree.

People are smarter now, that’s true. It is the result of crypto being more popular now and having more accesible resources to learn from. People have made mistakes before and now we learn from it. That’s why I think people know better but not everyone knows better. Despite past mistakes, some people just seem to not get it right.

We also need to account for newbies who still depend a lot on other people’s opinions because they do not have the confidence yet that they can make the right decisions due to insufficient knowledge.
12  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Those who judge gamblers, only to find themselves gambling. on: July 08, 2024, 02:17:48 AM
1. In the beginning they may have been doing well financially and see no reason to gamble, maybe life later on throws them a financial curveball, or perhaps responsibility compels them to look for quick money through gambling. If not attempting gambling was an ethic for them they should have stuck to another alternative why did they choose this one?
To be fair not all gamblers gamble because they are in dire need of money. Some of them just enjoys gambling as an activity in itself, it doesn't mean they are struggling financially.

However, it is a sad story to see people who cast away gamblers thinking they are irresponsible, and then fund themselves on this same web doing the same thing. It reminds me of how vulnerable humans can be, and that anyone can change habits when a condition falls on them.
Addiction is difficult to explain. It might seem hypocritical but some people couldn't help it. They might have judges gamblers without exactly knowing what is it like to be in their position and when they finally got to experience it, they got addicted.
13  Economy / Economics / Re: Oil discovery is it a cause or a blessing? on: July 08, 2024, 01:52:41 AM
The discovery of oil comes with a huge blessings capable of transforming individual lives communities, states and even countries if well managed. But a situation where the proceeds are miss managed it will turn to be a cause as individual will rise against individual, states Wil rise against starts, countries will rise against countries.
You can say that with many things but at least with the discovery of oil it brings many benefits and it has changed our society for the better I would say. Food and fuel and for other industrial operations, oil is used. We cannot change how the other individuals can use oil for their own benefits but as long as oil remains to be more beneficial than harmful then there should be no problem
14  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What Work Now May Not Work Tomorrow on: July 07, 2024, 07:37:52 AM
It's impossible due to the house edge. If patterns in gambling existed, they would be discovered sooner or later by one or another gambler (or even by the AI, as you said), who would share his discovery with the rest of gambling community, so everyone would be reproducing the same pattern and making continuous and certain profit in a frequently basis. As consequence, casinos would start losing money on long run, unable to maintain their businesses alive.
Well there is a clear solution here which is to change the patterns that their customers are noticing. That is why no matter how much pattern you crack, it will be soon enough until you cannot figure it out anymore

These casinos thrive in randomness and will do anything to make sure you do not find a pattern on their games
15  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Voting is harmful. Don't do it on: July 07, 2024, 07:19:46 AM
We live in a globalised technocracy where people have been reduced to nothing more than economic units. Voting legitimises an illegitimate system. Don't go out to vote in their little charade. Have some dignity. Don't contribute to the tryanny of modern governance systems.
I have heard of many people refusing to vote because of the system but I think it is even more harmful to not vote. At least when you vote you are given a chance to make a difference and not just let the evil take over. You are basically making their jobs easier by not voting and trying to go against what you call tyranny. I often think  that people who are not directly oppressed and are privileged are the ones who do not want to vote.

If you know what it feels like to be on the shorter end of the stick then you would know better than to not vote
16  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do feel for an own-goal letting to your bet loss? on: July 06, 2024, 04:40:44 AM
I think it’s not helpful if you are going to be emotional with your bets. I mean, why would you? You cannot do anything about it but control your emotions and also manage your risks when you are betting. when you associate yourself with the resort and then finding someone to blame, it shouldn’t be done because it will just create toxicity. it’s best that you understand that it’s always going to be a luck thing. you could improve your chances when you study and bet smart.
It’s very common for sports fans to have only one team wherever sport that may be that they support, it doesn’t matter if that team sucks or they are constantly winning you just support them

but when it comes to betting, fan loyalty must not come in play in my opinion. sports is the one part of gambling that you might have a higher chance of winning in so set your emotions and biases aside and watch the sport as it is
17  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is this true or some superstitious believe about gambling? on: July 05, 2024, 08:52:07 AM
The only strategy to avoid becoming addicted to gambling is to know how to control your delusional mind. If you can control that, I don’t think you will feel any signs of greediness that will make you feel like it is your responsibility to win any bet that you put in and will make you accept the fact that even if you lose, you won’t continue playing.
Lol the thought of having to control our delusion is a funny thing but actually a harder thing to do.

We can be aware of our delusions but sometimes we cannot control our brain and hope blooms in our lives. Especially when we are in a tight situation in our life. Hope is what will keep us to keep going.
18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Growing both your Bitcoin and backup funds. on: July 05, 2024, 08:19:08 AM
they pause there Bitcoin accumulation and start building there back up funds also known as emergency, reserve and/or float funds and is okay, but one can still be building his Bitcoin investment and also his back up funds at same time, the only thing he needs to do is cut the percentage he was investing on his Bitcoin and then channel some to his back up funds.
What I think is that no matter what kind of investment you are going to dip your feet into, you should not always put all of your money into a single investment.

Diversification has been a concept well known among the community but people need to understand the actual importance of it. I always tend to cut my money into 50.50. 50% for investing 50% for saving.

From the 50% of the investment, I will then distribute it into different investments
19  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: PH Senator pushes a Ban to POGOs and All Sort of Online Gambling... on: July 04, 2024, 05:04:23 AM
The proposed bill is due to the recent illegal POGO raids where human trafficking, murder, and money laundering were uncovered. Due to this, one of the Philippine senators believes that the best move is to ban POGOs and online gambling all in all and punish any person who is involved in online gambling activity if the bill is approved.
POGO seemed to be only a cover up for the other illegal activities prompted by different kinds of authorities. This definitely gives off a bad image to any kinds of gambling in the country. Which is a shame because the country could benefit economically from online gambling.

I hope they can find a balance between ensuring legal and safe gambling without eradicating all kinds of gambling in the process.
20  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoin Movie on: July 04, 2024, 04:36:37 AM
Making a movie or series about Bitcoin is a good idea. But honestly movies or series are made for those things which have little promotion. I think Bitcoin is not so well known that it needs to be made into a movie.
Not so well known?

I might disagree there , mate. Bitcoin is definitely being more popular even with the general masses as we speak but even if it wasn’t as mainstream as other concepts I still think it would be a great idea to make a movie of bitcoin. It will certainly allow for more promotion.
Actually there were lot of movies and series where Bitcoin is mentioned in one or the other way. For example in Deadpool the logo was mentioned and in a movie called vacation friends there's a shitcoin made ton of profit and for the series Money heist, Mr.Robot and many others mentioned about bitcoin.
Movies and series are dropping bitcoin like easter eggs for you to find. The mention of bitcoin might imprint it onto the audience’s minds which will give more exposure to bitcoin.
