WHY DID DUFFY DICK DELETE THIS?I'm about to pull out of Dash at this rate - Its performing so poorly against the competition.
lol. I feel bad for those short today. Cause I should really stay out of trading. It's not where I'm best suited to be helping the project. It will lead to people changing their behavior on my behalf. Seems negative? I'm just trying to figure out where I best fit in and stay out of the rest. On the other side though, I feel like it's my duty to inform the world that it is insane to short a hyper deflationary currency/medium. This is not a stock, it's not a commodity. It's a system of commerce. Going long you risk only the capital you put up, if short, you have infinite risk. Infinite risk on a hyper DEFLATIONARY asset. Think about it, it's going to get people hurt eventually. It's not funny either, I want to express the idea a bit better, I think it's important for people to grasp.

I'm in it to win it - but don't want my pants pulled down too long.
Whats the next big thing for dash?
Wouldn't it be ironic if I answered that in my talk, at our open house... today... while you're short? Hmm

lol. I feel bad for those short today. Speak to us about your opinion bro. I'm pretty vested into Dash, prob speak to the same people you do. Roger and Charlie come to my fams BTM all the time. Shorting from .08 wasn't a bad move - Ive since closed at .0732 JUST LIKE I CALLED IT. Look a few post back - count 10 mins and look at the chart and call. Whats the support Duff? BTW : I caught your post : I'm about to pull out of Dash at this rate - Its performing so poorly against the competition.
lol. I feel bad for those short today. Cheers, MasterTrader777 When I studied for my series 65, I came by some information about why trading sort term doesn't work long term. It's all based on internal bias, the people all eventually go broke (or more likely they tread water when you include the fees/taxation in the mix). I guess it's the governments that are the true beneficiaries of behavior like that long term. It's really difficult to do it correctly, it's much easier to find projects you agree with on a philosophical level, fundamental level, then just put your money on them. If your vision of the future is correct and you're aligned with the correct concepts you'll make money and the free market will work properly. We need traders, but it's like we need miners. Neither make money on the network until they're expert level. Further more, everyone is used to trading inflationary markets, or denominated markets (assets like stocks that have linear growth models, gold markets, silver markets, etc). We are a new type of medium that has a growth potential that is deflationary and exponential in nature. It's extremely dangerous for traditional minded traders to wrap their minds around to understand how dangerous that actually is. We have barely begun to start growing. A word of caution I think is in order.

Attention Mining Pools: We're entering the final stages of 12.1 testing on testnet, as a matter of course we'll need to have some mining pools running. Getblocktemplate changed in this release, so we need to create a guide to help the mining pools update effectively. If you run a pool on mainnet, or would like to learn more about the process of setting up a pool, you can help us by getting this setup on 12.1. Please report how you were able to setup the pool with our new software here: http://www.dash.org/forum/threads/12-1-testnet-testing-phase-two-ignition.10818/page-6#post-107649Thanks, Evan

Is there any update on Dash Evolution? I didn't see any news for the last 8 months.
My talk tomorrow is an update on Dash Evolution. There's other things I could point you to, but it'll be quite up to date .

Yes, absolutely. The faster they get on the right chain the better, we are sending notifications to all exchanges. There's also two new checkpoints, that signal the correct chain to hop on. We'll push out an update in a few hours, in the mean time, if you're running from source feel free to update (the most important nodes will be running source, so that should fix everything anyway). https://github.com/dashpay/dash/commits/master

Half the support was pulled and 900 BTC worth of Dash instantly dumped into the market. Shakeout or "0.02, see you next year"?
Looks like I should have sold when I initially thought. Dash could keep dropping and hen buy back in. Looks like a traders pump and dump. Missed the boat. It could drop back to 0.01 For me it's still not too late but it's a tough decision It's a tough decision, and if you really believe in Dash, a scary one. Yes, we've seen this before, recently in early 2015 when we hit .0245. If you had sold everything then and bought back six months later at .0055, you'd have made a fortune. For me, the risk is always "What if this is the real thing?" Sure could be just a pump...but one of these days, with the fundamental work we're doing on Dash (as Daniel mentioned), we're going to experience a revaluation rather than a pump. Maybe that's happening now, or maybe it happens in a year...but one of these days we're going to sail past $15 and just keep going. I'd hate to be wrong about that one. Sell at $15 and rebuy at $8 and you like look a genius. Sell at $15 and FOMO back in at $40 (or worse, never buy back in, as you wait for a correction that never comes), and not so much... https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1BmfW0YGYrnWxRDsW3W3SQy2xdIqi2sArjP1hkiiuUsI/edit?usp=sharingEach month we're gaining momentum, we started at about $13k/mo in October 2015 and currently next month we're going to have over $100k to spend. This is fantastic, it shows we can grow the ecosystem and as we do, we'll have more and more funding available for the next projects. The model is working, it's exciting. There's a definite relationship between making good investments for the network and the price appreciation, I believe they are causal.

Have not run into this in the past when voting from the client. Voted on one proposal then tried another and got this message using the Vote-Many command. Waited a good 15 minutes and still getting this message.
"......" : {"result" : "time between votes is too soon - 198c2be3e156c2a.......6a5f66acf4bba1 - 1537\n"
Version info: Dash Core version v0.12.0.56-7154cdf (64-bit)
How long do you have to wait?
You should be able to vote on a proposal you haven't voted yet without any timeout. Check the hash/proposal again - probably you already voted. To cast new vote on the same proposal you need to wait 1h iirc. EDIT: btw, have anyone noticed this recently? https://chainz.cryptoid.info/dash/#!extractionDoesn't that mean ASICs caused decentralization in our case? (temporarily anyway... I don't think this will last forever. The incentives are prone to cause centralization in the end, we're working on that problem as well)

I think it will be wise to switch the POW to multialgo. The blockchain is under attack from ppl with alot of funding.
Under attack how precisely? Genuine question, since I read somewhere ( cannot exactly recall where added source) that DASH miners are actively censoring DarkSend transactions and thereby slowing them down significantly. Your notion could be related. EDIT: Adding source: https://www.dash.org/forum/threads/coinbase.8998/#post-94696Actually, that was a bug. In fact, I think we fixed it in 12.1 already (thx Udjin!). Along with a really nasty bug that stops the budget system from syncing properly as well. The next version should have swimmingly fast syncing and privacy . Ok, back to Terraria...

This could be really cool as a tool after 12.2, we can make all of the network data available to us in a database, then query locally using MYSQL. https://www.periscopedata.com/ab?source=quantcast&ad=so-300x250Imagine graphing stats like Payments Per hour, Account Creations Per Hour, etc. We can track the activities on the network pretty well with something like this.

Er, that's this project. I just decided to do like an open-source not-for-profit. I was going to run it like etherium when I first started and decided to decentralize it further ( e.g, no external/centralized funding, no centralized companies which own everything, etc)

Hey everyone, I tried to address all of the questions you guys had on the The DashRoundtable above. If anything remained unanswered or has some ambiguity feel free to rephrase your questions and we can continue the conversation.
I just listened to the broadcast (great show) and tried to visualize some of the things that you guys discussed over there, can you tell me if this is somewhat correct ? Good idea -- I made a few charts. I was talking to someone the other day who would only learn visually, I guess it's important sometimes. https://github.com/evan82/sentinel/blob/master/docs/tour.md

Someone was asking about the private server idea, here's some clarification: The private webserver part comes from the idea that we could setup a amazon AMI that has apache, the database, dashd, sentinel, and the main web gui setup. So if you want a dash wallet and you don't want to setup all of that, you could just clone our api, then visit https://www.your-aws-instance.com/ and then follow the web gui setup instructions. If you tell evolution where your instance is, it means it's like your own little private server.
