240v outlets is a good start but main question that remains is how much power are they good for? Remember, today's miners all pull over 3kw each.
Two outlets each on a 20amp circuit should be okay. Two outlets sharing a 30 amp circuit borderline Two outlets sharing a 20amp circuit is a fail. A 70th s17 is about 2900-3100 watts or 12-13 amps two are 24-26 amps so they wont be able to share a 20amp and are borderline for a 30 amp circuit. they do about 23000 to 25000 btus of heat. So, it's okay to have one ASIC's dual-corded PSU run on two separate breakers? I was wondering about this myself the other day. What happens if -- for whatever reason -- only one of the circuits trip? Does the whole ASIC shut down or could something worse happen?

If you go with ETH - you can stake your profits for more passive income. If you go with ZEN - you can create small masternodes and get passive income from there, too.
There is the third option, too: Mine either and then convert to BTC either through a pool with autoexchange or on a proper exchange.

Am I totally miscalculating or will these ASICs never break even? I just used whattomine for the 30S++ at 10 cents and the breakeven is at about 21 years.

I'm new to BTC mining.... is there an updated list of the full paying pools?
Many thanks for your research!

My 14 s17 pros are all under paypal warranty so I do not fuck with aftermarket firmware.
Could you explain how the Paypal warranty works? It's been a while since I've used them, but I thought that they were anti-crypto.

I have over 70 sha 256 miners mining about 2.1ph I have 8th on brains the rest on stock firmware.
To be fair I have over 1 ph of bitmain gear purchased via paypal. Thus a real warranty good unit May-June 2 So I won't bother touching this gear with after market firmware until June.
So, how did you arrive at using Braiins firmware? Did you compare it against competitors like asic.to, chipless, etc. and it came out on top? Thank you!

With all of the "evil" firmware out there... is there a wiki/sticky here somewhere that has a list of all firmware known to be good? Perhaps even with stable OCs and/or undervolts along with the dev fees that each charges?
If it doesn't exist I think I'm probably not alone in thinking that it would be an amazing resource to have.
Many thanks Potificate

I could rant about air quality for hours, but I don't.
This time I talked a bit because my wife never drinks never smokes never does drugs.
Yet she got very ill quite scary for me and her.
So sorry, man... not really fair. I hope she gets well soon.

Parents do it all the time... "I'll 'lend' my son Jimmy the money to help him out." Of course many times, that is a 100% negative interest rate ;-)

It's been ages since this has been posted.... what have you been up to? (Tried DMing you, but BCT still thinks I'm a noob and blocks me from such things.. I doubt you would have gotten far by PMing the user. If you check his profile he has not been online since November 2017 - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=38146Took a quick look at this posting history in search for an email or other way to contact him but couldn't find anything except for a few github repositories and dropbox links. Oh man.. that's such a shame considering such important work. Thanks for looking!

Here's an update: In October 2012, allten contacted me. He had designed some hardware but needed some firmware, while I had some firmware but only a hardware prototype. So we combined our efforts. He sent me a special development version of the BitSafe: ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FylEx0PE.jpg&t=663&c=lyHnb6g4d8q2ug) ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FD1ERR5c.jpg&t=663&c=PrtmJTdoie9Ykw) It's been ages since this has been posted.... what have you been up to? (Tried DMing you, but BCT still thinks I'm a noob and blocks me from such things.. I've been on for a while but mostly lurk.) This was so amazing that you started this before anyone else... just curious what's been going on over the past 5 years. :-) Potificate

Thank you so much for this tool! So easy to pick at someone else's work, but if it was easy to make something "perfect," well.. then it wouldn't be called "perfect." It would just be "normal" ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif)

Notice the ducts are not attached directly to the fans, this is important, airflow must also go around the miner, not only inside the Asic boards.
Is there a particular length recommended for the ducting? Are supplemental fans required to help make up for the resistance (think breathing through a straw vs freely)? Also, how much space around the ASIC should I leave inside the box? Many thanks potificate

So, how was that order from cryptominerbros? I'm thinking of buying from them too, but would love to hear how it went for you.

Hyperbit has been legit in the past, I have no recent experience with them.
Fusion Silicon website works ok for me.
Thanks on Hyperbit. Weird about the Fusion Silicon site... is it possible that they are being blocked by north america? I still cannot get to it.

Their official website is www.fusionsilicon.comEDIT: It seems that Hyperbit is also selling Fusion Silicon hardware. They used to sell BW.com hardware, like the BW-L21 Litecoin miner. www.hyperbitshop.iofusionsilicon.com seems to be down for me at the moment. So, hyperbitshop.io is legit? Thanks potificate

What's going on with the site? Everything is down?
Pool closed. ... and ripped many people off. I'm owed coins, they promised to make a final payout to everyone who had a balance over a certain amount... they did not.

In my opinion, the best are WhatToMine (I like their telegram bot) and nicehash calculators
WTM is one of the worst lol. should be WHAT TO SELL not WHAT TO MINE. chasing the current most profitable is not the most profitable way to mine. So.... what is the most profitable way to mine?

Just went to the website... a "Swiss Miner" with a Bulgarian address? Hmmm ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif)

One thing that this site does not do is divide the cost of the miner by daily profit to calculate days to breakeven. If it had that, the site would be perfect!
