Vircurex have withdrawn 'options' now so no way to trade alt coins..

Are they or anyone else planning a different service?

Did something go wrong with the last round too..

18223   2013-05-26 09:16:33   1:24:44   12500488   690   0.00001210   237996   25.10896011    96 confirmations left
18222   2013-05-26 07:51:49   2:13:47   19315340   1150   0.00144278   237983   25.09710000    83 confirmations left
18221   2013-05-26 05:38:02   3:11:30   27934550   1532   0.00126164   237971   25.51695000    71 confirmations left

Again showing no disconnects, the current round is estimated even worse than 18223.. even tho my miner is still submitting at the normal rate of knots..

5  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Problem with Gui Miner, Hashrates drop considerably after a few minutes on: May 12, 2013, 06:52:26 PM
Seems to be a gui miner issue, had no such problems using cgminer.  Stayed connected all last night when it would have dropped out within 30 minutes on gui miner.

Hope this helps somone,

Will leave it running and see what happens... extra 25Mh/s too just by changing to cgminer Smiley

Perfect thanks to the confirmation.. migration to cgminer on the cards then Smiley

Did you ever fix this, I get the same behaviour with guiminer on deepbit and eclipse.... but slush and bitparking work fine....  odd

I'm wondering if a change to cgminer will do the trick?
10  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Vircurex Compromised? on: May 10, 2013, 07:56:02 PM
The statement is kinda contradictory though so I'm unsure.

"The systems Vircurex.com and Cryptostocks.com have been taken offline over the weekend" - suggests some sort of planning and timescale in mind..

yet

"Please do not deposit any further coins to your Vircurex accounts. We must assume that the wallet has been compromised." - suggests something has gone wrong!.

This page was up seconds\one minute after the site was unavailable however...  if they have been compromised the admins have come to some very quick conclusions and posted the message.....

I'm an admin of many systems and it strikes me as strange they posted this message so quickly (very little diagnosis could have been done imo)

I remember you and I think you were the one told me about this pool right? I do realize that at this hashrate it is more of a lottery to find a block so there will be bigger differences in earnings from day to day but it even out.

Nope not me, I've only progressed from newbie status today so these are some of my first posts!

It says on their website:

"The systems Vircurex.com and Cryptostocks.com have been taken offline over the weekend
Please do not deposit any further coins to your Vircurex accounts. We must assume that the wallet has been compromised."

Choose a "high" security setting in your browser, and the user interface of most pools breaks in pieces.
Only slush, deepbit and bitparking still useable.
Then deactivate cookies. Slush and deepbit are done. Bitparking still works.

Security aware net user, you don't get too many of us these days Smiley Hope you've removed Java too (0-day heaven these days : )

I will supply straight HTML and leave the rest up to doublec.. he may even hate what I put together and not use it.. his pool, his choice Smiley

I must say that in 6 hours I earn more NMC then in days with Slush. We just need some luck to find BTC block and I will be a happy camper. For now I must say that pool is better then I thought. It looks like it has much more statistic that I thought. But since it is under your username I couldn't know that.

FYI: I recently moved from slush also and after letting things even out a bit i'm getting the same amount of btc + alt coins... just need to wait a few days for the higher payouts to balance out fewer blocks found.

Hi there. I'm looking for new primary pool. Just like to know. Is page work in progress and you will add some more user data or is that it. I'm used to have user page, last rounds data, send shares per worker, API for my mobile phone and computer to see if something went wrong and so on...
Yes there's more to come with regards to stats and work on the pool. If you search in the Android Play store you'll see a Bitparking app with widget that a contributor created. I'm planning to use Pushover for notifications of workers going offline - it's what I use myself for block notifications and the pool being down. Lately it's been a rush to get Stratum going, then transitioning from PPS. Now I hope to get some time to improve other things.

Less is more imo, and the simple signup that cannot be altered thereafter is a work of genius. Removes much of the 'security' issues that complicate other pools.  If this information is then stored read only somewhere  it's perfect Smiley

One piece of feedback I do have however is the very basic HTML template (default HTML tables etc..) could do with a spruce up Smiley  Something with a bit more visual appeal *may* even help to attract more people to the pool! Although it makes no difference to me Smiley

If it's of interest I could knock up a nice little responsive design and chop it into HTML for you?

Another ASIC on the market would be great, I will be very interested to hear your pricing!

Will wait patiently Smiley

Great pool doublec,

Only been on it a short while but the low number of users = more significant payouts (was getting bored of earning small amounts per block on the larger pools).

The alt coins are a brilliant addition and I'm sure more people will start to use your pool as a result.

Good luck for all in the pool.

20  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin Outlawed? on: May 03, 2013, 05:59:36 PM
Being a distributed network I think it would take some serious effort to disrupt it, the only people who would want to 'outlaw' it are those that depend on the fiat type paper money system.... sadly most governments rely on this :/
