thats it ,, all 10 units rockin ,, whoooo hooooo
now , can we confirm if the btc side is active or not,
and how do we turn it off
using cpu miner
or direct it to a pool at least.
ps. that tool I posted has a right click function to remove bound hardware to com ports
also I need to flash my la3m units to the new firmware, to boost the speed, I am a little confused on that process at the moment

okay folks, I saw a few bounties and was pm'ed about these problems and after 3 days of research here it is. Problems: 1 - Apparently windows has problems releasing com ports, as we have all discovered. 2 - For some reason, my mining units don't like any com port above Com9 (solved see atari's solution above ) 3 -If I plug my usb hub into the computer with all my mining units connected to the usb hub all at once I cannot mine. (information overload on the usb hub I believe, is my theory) note: I am not using the controller because I am having trouble updating it. My usb hub is connected directly to the pc. My Solutions: 1.) this little tool resets com ports (made by user Uwe Sieber) http://www.uwe-sieber.de/files/com_name_arbiter_setter.zip thanks to http://blog.cognitioninfotech.com/2009/01/how-to-clear-or-reset-com-port.html2.)See atari's solution above, works great ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) 3.) plug your units into the usb hub one at a time. This allows the usb hub to load the miner properly. The units should pop up in your device manager too. Wait a few seconds between each plug in. (I load the cpuminer for each unit during this time) 4.) use cpuminer-2.3.2-gc335-win32 http://www.filedropper.com/cpuminer-232-gc3355-win32 - If this information helps you or you put out a bounty, donations are appreciated Ltc LKWXz6nGSkQ4Fy6KG2hz6LZ4xGF77CbGaK Btc 1A7CVDAFC9ZQLBN3LhNPusCAgHU9Sw4YhL next issues for me: - Figure out how to verify if btc side is on with cpuminer and control btc on/off functions. - Figure out how to update my controller firmware. ( I think its just a networking issue ) now its bedtime, while my miners rock it out ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) live long and prosper

update : - I am now plugging all units directly into pc via the 10 port usb hub, - units on com ports 1-9 are connecting and hashing ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) yay ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) - unts on com 10-12 give me an error when opening cpuminer "open com10 failed , getlasterror 2" any suggestions ? - theory: I plugged each unit into the usb hub one at a time ,waiting for windows to recognize it , it has been suggested that the usb hub is getting overloaded by plugging all unit in at once. - also to comment on my problems with the controller box, It has been suggested to me that I need a basic hardware switch , instead of trying to use my fancy router to gain full function of the controller box, I will go get one and try that out. - to comment on the sdcard theory , windows is now asking me to do a sdcard update hmmm, it didnt before, maybe that is connected to issues this is so much fun ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) , thanks for any help I opened up com 1 and 2 for use, and switched the units that were on com 11 and 12 over to com 1 and 2, now the units are hashing ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) ta da !!!

I am using all units on the controller, when i am getting that error message
Let's assume you could install the controllers driver correctly ... what would you like to do ... then? I would like to use the web interface to manage the units , set the mining address, and monitor hash rate with all 10 units routing through the usb bridge , correct ? - I just tried using the custom cpuminer , with all units plugged directly to the pc using the usb hub, and 10 minerd.exe running that seemed to work, ---------------- - the driver package with the preinstaller.exe seems to install the drivers. However the controller is not detected still , and is not listed in the device manager. - same error in the web interface system log " usb hub not found "

Greetings all,
my problem is loading the basic controller driver,
I get an error when loading the cp210x driver saying " " the specified inf files could not be copied and installed. Please check your installation "
- the usb bridge is not showing up in my computers Device manager
- I can connect to the controller's ip address with my internet browser
- I see all units plugged in,
- the message in the system log says "usb bus not found , try open the controller power"
I am not sure how to get the driver to load, any suggestions

Hi, I am also a member that has been watching the forums for 6 months or more and has never posted, i am ready to break the seal and contribute my thoughts to the collective. I am most active in the Active mining threads right now. This is a great way to throw ideas around, I love it ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) . I have been active in the bitcoin space for a almost a year now so I can add some valid knowledge to the idea pool at this point.
