1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Exposure to bitcoin at young age on: May 26, 2024, 11:36:54 PM
I would say that, I hope that when I was at my young age, someone should influence me in crypto currency and bitcoin early, because when I'm at my young age I dont have any interest in this kind of thing because I want is play games and such, and same goes if I have a chance I will introduce and influence young age to learn about crypto currency so that they will be independent in terms of financial at early age and it will be a good gift because as they will explore they will discover a lot of things that could make them profit, honed their skills, gather knowledge and sharpen their experience in that way they will be mored advanced at young age and they can implement those knowledge and skills to the other things, knowledge about crypto currency is a gift that should be passed down to young age so that they can be more matured and money oriented.
2  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tell me why sportsbooks does not have some promo on the NBA playoffs. on: May 26, 2024, 10:16:03 PM
Well, the popularity of football cant be denied. Thats why, because of that, there are a lot of audiences, and because of the hype of the people about a certain team in football or player, it adds up to the more popularity of football, so we can also expect that in sports betting, football is the leading sport that people bet on. Well, for me, I don't usually place bets on football because in my country, football is not so popular. Maybe because football is in the western country and we know the population of the western country is great, it's easier to say that it's because of the population. I love the NBA, and thats where I bet all the time. Even if there are not many promotions or events on the NBA's casino platform, it's fine as long as I can bet whenever I want and when I want to.
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If someone you introduced to BTC says the risks of her funds is on you on: May 26, 2024, 09:13:48 AM
You can imagine that she told me to give her my words that if anything happens to her funds if invested that I will have to refund her. 😏. That was silly and I felt mad at her.
And right then I clearly told her that I am not trying to introduce her to any of the Ponzi schemes so it is her choice to decide but all I can tell you(her) lastly about this is that your funds will be secured as long you (she) would stick to the terms I have explained to her after explaining the Pros and the Cons to her.

Dear fellas, please I needed to know how you would feel if you were in my position basically where she said I would refund her if her funds gets lost becasue you recommended and introduced her to the system.
Reading through your post, I can tell you didn't put this your neighbour through properly about Bitcoin and its investment risk at the initial time ,else something of this nature wouldn't have arise, for telling you that if anything happens to her funds you are responsible,  Well, that's why it's necessary we lecture any interested individuals properly about Bitcoin and the risks associated with its investment before they think of investing, and this should be the primary objective, I have had number of friends who has indicated interest to invest into Bitcoin but ones I told them about the risk side of it, you see most of them losing interest, The bitter truth is that most people that wants to invest are only concerned about the profit side and aren't willing to take risks side of possibly losing money.
It's true, and based on the OP's experience or scenario, it is unfair because someone offers to invest in bitcoin, and the OP will handle it. If the investment is earned, then they will both get money or a reward, but if the OP loses it all, the OP should refund all the money that the girl invested. That's nonsense. I think even if the girl knows the risk of investing in bitcoin and I'm sure the OP explains it to her, the fact that the girl only wants the profit, not the fact that if the OP loses it all, the blame will only be on the OP, that kind of transaction or negotiation should not be entertained, and it's normal for the OP to feel annoyed because it's like an insult to you as a person. If I stumble upon one of my friends who will have that kind of mindset, without a doubt I will ignore him/her and just earn on my own, with my own money.
4  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does addicted gamblers only lose money all the time on: May 26, 2024, 08:49:09 AM
On this board, we are always referring addiction as a terrible thing but does it mean that those addicted gamblers doesn't win money, are they only bounded to losses upon losses?

Gambling addict do not only lose while they gamble, they make money too but they do not use the money that they have made wisely.  Gambling addict lose more time than they win because of their addiction. If they win, they will still continue to gamble and waste all the money and then they will have to start from the beginning and begin to gamble again. Gambling addict have a bad habit of not resting, if they lose they will decide to chase after their losses to want to win them back. Gambling addict are not disciplined, they do not care if they are winning or losing and since they do not keep records of their gambling activities they would not know when they are at lost. Gambling addict are the worst type of gamblers because they depend on gambling for money yet gambling is not giving them any money but they would not want to stop gambling.
Well, those you have mentioned are true, also from the question of the OP, to make it short, don't expect to win in gambling, or its better to say that its better to expect that you will lose in gambling than you will win, that's the reality of gambling because like that, even if a gambler will earn in his gambling its not sure that it can cover all the losses of that gambler unless he/she got a big jackpot, or in other scenario when a gambler win a huge amount of money, instead of using those money to pay debt or to start a business or more secure way of earning, they will use what they have won and eventually will lose it all, gambling is a cycle of losing money, if a gambler will not get out of that cycle or loop then expect that a gambler will not go anywhere.
5  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your favorite to lose slot game on: May 26, 2024, 08:25:41 AM
Well, as for me I only play slot games when I have spare amount of funds to gamble and also its because you will only click and click in slot game, in short a simple game to play, then when I don't feel the mood to play complex casino games but still want to play gambling then slot game is the best option, so maybe the easy and quick game play of slot games what makes me play those games, but in general I'm not a fun of slot games, its because we all know slot games are pure luck, I mean its hard to get a win in a slot game, for sure no matter what spin or money you spend it will take a long time before you can win and if you have won in a slot game it may not be enough to cover all the losses you lose in slot games.
6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Donald Trump's stance on Bitcoin is changing, the Trump pump is beginning on: May 25, 2024, 11:43:54 PM
I still doubt if he has any understanding of what he is talking about regarding bitcoin, crypto or CBDCs. His campaign team are telling him to say stuff that would help him in the upcoming election and he just parrots them at the crowds.

This couldn't have been said any better. One of the categories of people not to be trusted are politicians especially when they're in the campaign mode like Trump has been doing. Trump's crypto advocacy during his campaign is simply to help him take in more donations and to put him in a good position with the lot of Bitcoiners and crypto folks that are interested in a crypto friendly US government. I do hope these people are taking his words with a grain of salt. Best to be keep expectations low imo.
Well, it will be a win, win situation for us bitcoin investors, well its because ig he is just mentioning or doing things related to crypto currency or bitcoin and if it will help to make bitcoin more known and people will become more interested then its a win situation for us, and if he is just doing those things because the election is coming and in order to get more people to cote for him then its a win situation for him, I think as long as we are going to benefit to that then why not support him, we just have to make sure that he will do what will he says about bitcoin, and of course we should also be cautios because we cant fully trust the words of a politician, as we know they are good at making promises but in the end they will never do it or they will forget about it.
7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Converting bitcoin to fiat without problems on: May 25, 2024, 04:31:47 PM
Well, the thing is that if the amount is too much then expect that your account will be locked or questioned, because they might question where did you ge the money so instantly and quickly, well its a common measure so that banks or any platform where you can place your money will know where did you get the money and if its legal or illegal, in my country there are this kind of scenario where in if suddenly you place a very huge amount of money in a bank account or any platform where you can put your money, then expect that they will questioned you and will ask for validation to know if the money came from legal means, because as we know money laundering or any kind of moneh manipulation is can be done in crypto so authorities are being more cautions and strict when it comes to sending and transacting huge amount of money, I still dont experience holding or converting from crypto currency in fiat currency that the amount will be too much.
8  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are the limits and common sense of bet? on: May 25, 2024, 09:38:21 AM
When someone says something like "I'll bet my salary on it!, I'll bet my house on it, or I'll bet my life on it." I don't take all of this seriously. I know it's a foolish joke or just because someone is being dragged by his own hype.
But, if someone tells me that he wants to bet against me (especially now in the Finals of the NBA) and shows the money then I would take it. Most of the time they will leave their money on me and I will hold everything until the series is done.
Last year, one neighbor made a bet against me. All drinks (alcohol) and foods are on him if ever the Nuggets win but if the Miami Heat wins it's all on me. I accepted that because it was a serious discussion and we shook our hand on it. He said it was just to make the game more exciting while we watched it and to cheer more for our preferred teams.
Remember, bets with too good to be true reward or return should be avoided, especially if they came from a friend, because it will only make the bet less valid because betting and staking salaray, or an important asset of a person, is sometimes a bullshit. I mean, for sure, some gamblers who bet on that in the end, if they lose, will take back what they said and will cause a conflict with the other friend. I also have those experiences where, in my circle of friends, we always do bet in NBA matches, especially finals, and sometimes the amount is huge and we dont have any problem until one of our friends stakes a huge amount of money, which seems too good to be true, and he loses, but he withdraws his stake and says that it was a joke. After that incident, we never let that one friend participate in our bets because he is not a man of a word.
9  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Day streaming as gambler experience on: May 25, 2024, 07:53:10 AM
Do you think it is a bad thing to do, promoting gambling?
Well, for me, 50/50, there's nothing wrong with promoting gambling sites or platforms because it is a way of living or for you to earn, and it's a trend now because many people or streamers are starting to promote and stream gambling sites because it became a trend and more sites are emerging. It's not bad in the sense that it's one of the ways to earn money for streamers, but it becomes bad when the streamers are not being responsible in promoting casino sites. We all know that social media is swarming with young people. So streamers should be more responsible with streaming and give guidance to their young viewers, and they should also be responsible in a way that does not overburden those viewers that they could earn easily and a lot in gambling. I know you need to persuade potential customers, but you should be more humane to other people.
10  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is your preferred method of converting bitcoin (or other crypto) to fiat? on: May 24, 2024, 11:50:11 PM
Well, the easiest way to convert fiat to any crypto currency is through P2P, and there are many exchanges offering this kind of service. It's easier than any other option, and the platform I would use is Binance because it is popular for those services and many sellers and buyers are legit on that platform, so rest assured that converting your fiat to crypto or vice versa is secured on Binance. And the good thing is that you could also start this kind of business on Binance, wherein you will become a seller and buyer. In P2P, you just have to be verified and comply with many applications in order to operate; you just need a huge amount of money to start. I know there are other exchanges that offer P2P, but for me, the best is Binance, or maybe just Binance, which is my most comfortable platform. Anyway, it's up to you on what platform you will use; just make sure their P2P is safe.
11  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you believe in match fixing? on: May 24, 2024, 12:35:35 PM
the reason why the VAR was introduced was even to help in actualizing the match fixing.
Nah, VAR isn't enough to actualizing the match fixing, actually the full name of VAR is Virtual Assistant Real Madrid, that's why people call Real Madrid is Vadrid since VAR really help Real Madrid.

Unfortunately there are no way that can completely stop match fixing and cheating since abusers will keep abusing by finding other loophole.

I believe in match fixing, in order to remove match fixing in football is remove the referees and money involved.
Exactly, it's sad, but it's true that no matter what measurement, rules, or how strict a commissioner becomes, there will still be match fixing and it will not be stopped. That's why it's better to avoid betting in a sport that mostly has a series record of match fixing because it will mostly happen again. And also, before betting, make sure that you watch the game so that you can notice if there is an anomaly or suspicious happenings in the game so that you can pull out your bet early. Still, sometimes it can be beneficial for you, but don't expect that it will happen all the time. In conclusion match fixing is part of the sports community and it cant be stopped no matter what we do, so its up to us on what precaution we will do in order not to be disadvantage in sports that we are betting.
12  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can soccer players collaborate with gamblers to help them win there bet? on: May 24, 2024, 12:13:24 PM
Well, that proves that there is match fixing happening in sports, and it is inevitable. Some people take advantage of the fact that there are players or inside personnel that could give gamblers some information that will benefit them.
That's why I am careful with when and where I bet because I know that there are fixed matches, or sometimes people are giving information to other gamblers in order for them to have commission and earnings.
That's why we should be more careful and be aware of the matches we will bet if yoh find it too suspicious then be more cautious in order not to be taken advantage and lose moneh from unjustice losing in gambling, the player should be punished in what he do, they are not fair and should be ban from playing, that's what I hate the most, cheating and manipulating the result of the match for their own benefit.
13  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is gambling bad to the society? on: May 24, 2024, 11:53:26 AM

So what I'm trying to conclude is that gambling isn't something you should take as a hobby or as a means of earning just to make a living. So what are your thoughts?
I don't agree that you should not take it as a hobby but I agree that you don't take gambling as a means to make a living, it's a big illusion if you think that you can make money from gambling because the uncertainty is very high but you will not encounter any issues like you've mentioned in your post if you take it as a hobby and as a hobby you allocate money for you gambling activity,

The gambling platforms have done and keep doing their share of promoting their platform as a platform of entertainment, so it's up to the gambler how they discipline and how they set their mindset when playing in casinos.
Exactly, gambling is created because it is meant for entertainment and a hobby for many people, but it is up to the gamblers on how they will gamble. I mean, if people or gamblers become too addicted, then it is their fault, not the casino or any platforms. And gambling is not entirely bad for society because online platforms or even physical casinos will provide work or jobs to many people.

It's just that gambling should not be taken as a means of earning money or relying on it because you will lose more money than you earn unless you are lucky enough to win a big jackpot.

Well, for me, gambling is both good and bad, and it will depend on the people who do it if it will make them miserable or not, but for me, it's a hobby that I'd love to do when I have extra money.
14  Economy / Economics / Re: Money addiction on: May 23, 2024, 11:38:20 PM
I wouldn’t call that addiction of money. If you gave the chance so people wouldn’t work, almost everyone would take it. But you can’t be caught slacking because poverty is usually around the corner of lazy people. You do not want to appear as one. What can we do today without money? Money solves a lot of problems and without it, the problems are usually more weighty and multiple. There’s really need for striving to make money.
I agree, all people want to earn money and everyone is finding its way to earn money into different things that's why there are a lot of ways discovered in order to earn money and one of it is crypto currency, I honestly admit that I also obsessed in earning koney but of course with proper procedure, what I mean is that I do things to earn money in a right way and in a good way, I think what we can be considered to be addicted in money is those greedy people that will do anything in order to eanr koney, they can do bad things and bad stuff in order to have the wealth they want, for example scamming people, stealing and many more, but for those hard working people who do anything to earn of course with the right way, is I think should not be called addicted to money, they are just doing what they can in order to survive everyday and have a proper life that they are dreaming of.
15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: DeFi, AI, NFT & Gaming on Bitcoin is a scam? on: May 23, 2024, 10:54:35 PM
I'm doubt that DeFi, AI, NFT & Gaming on Bitcoin will be success .. What do you really think about these narratives called Layer 2 And Defi on Bitcoin?
No, well because I experience playing or doing those what you have mentioned, remember during pandemic in the world DeGi, NFT and gaming in bitcoin and other crypto currency become too popular that many people started soing those things and that's when they discover crypto currency and many people influenced to try digging deeper in crypto currency, I'm also one of the people that become too emersed in DeFi, NFT and crypto currency games, and I'd say I earn a lot from those things its just that I notice that the life span of those things is too short, its because people tend to sell all of their cryptos in the time of ATH and that's why projects like that started to fall apart because people are just selling and not holding simply, they are just farming and selling than people buying crypto currencies, so yeah those what you have mentioned are profitable if you have enter early but the life span of the project is short.
16  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino Gambling vs Sport Betting, Lets Discuss on: May 23, 2024, 04:04:24 PM
Well sports betting is just another type of gambling and I do both, casino gambling games and sports betting but what I like the most is sports betting because there are more basis or chances of winning in sports betting the those randomizes casino gambling games, that will most likely make you lost a lot money than earning, but in sports betting you only have 50/50 percent chances of winning becauss you will only need to side or bet on a team or player that has the higher chance owf winning, and also there are more ways to increase the chance of winning based on the statistics and datas from the players or teams. Unlike in most casino gambling games, the games are more on random or luck based games which is I think a waste of money to do because you will juat waste money on that, but I also do casino games but more on cards games, poker, black jack and many more.
17  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why Lotto Winner Takes Time To Claim Their Rewards, What's The Point? on: May 23, 2024, 11:05:47 AM
Here in our country, if you hit the jackpot, you are given one year to claim your rewards. There is also a security feature on the back of the lotto ticket where you can write your name and sign it, so you are the only person who can claim the jackpot prize, and you have a year to claim it.

I read that some lottery winners take weeks or even months to claim their rewards, but what's the point?

What if you keep it and will surprise your family after a month, but you have an accident and you get into a coma?

Or you let it know to your family, but you decide that you will claim it after a month but some members of the family spread the news will this put your family and yourself in jeopardy

Do you think it's a good idea to claim your winnings a day after hitting the jackpot or wait a few weeks?

How about you? When do you think is the right time to claim your winnings?

I can only think of several reasons why lotto winners delay their claims.

1. they don't want to create a stir in their neighborhood. We all know that there are a lot of free loaders, or suddenly a long lost relative of yours suddenly resurfaces and wanted a piece of that winnings or at least give them free money

2. stay low profile but make the necessary adjustment so that when you suddenly disappear no one will suspect that you have won the lottery
Well, that's mostly the case, winners will of course want to make themselves safe, its becauss if they make any sudden movement and quickly claim the price then people with malicious intents will wait for the winner to claim the price and we never know what might happen next, so its better to pick a right timing when to claim the price, a winner should be more cautios because the bad guys might be one of the authorities in the lotto that is blinded by the money, even I will take some time before I will claim my price I will make the news laylow first then claim it and of course be in lowkey so no one will know I win a lottery, but yeah it will be a dream for now. In conclusion its better to take time before claiming the price but of course dont take it for too long because there may be a downside of it also.
18  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Foolhardy bets. on: May 23, 2024, 10:41:37 AM
Internet is full of reassuring stories on big gambling wins like ten/hundred -thousand-dollar, or even more, while in most cases the gamblers are losing because they are either not the experts in on gambling they try or have not relevant skills and make foolhardy bets.

I'm sure everyone here involved into gambling has made such reckless bet  at least once in life.

Did such bet/s change  your gambling styles?

Have you become to be more eager in gambling or , on the contrary it has put a chill on you?

Well, I've done also a big mistake and cost me a huge amount of money, and yes because of that I wake up from my excessive gambling habbit just because I want to recover my losses and also hoping that I will get a huge amount of money from a win, but the opposite happens and from that I started to set limit and boundaries to my gambling activities, because I admit I still can't let go of my gambling activity because I still want the thrill and I'm used to gamble when I have a free time, but now its different I only have specific amount of money for example in a week, I will allocate $100 as my capital and if for instance I lose it all then I will stop and wait for another time where I can have funds again to use in my gambling activity, not all gamblers could change like me when experiencing a great loss in gambling, some will still dig deeper and make their lives more miserable.
19  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Bullish period and advantage. on: May 22, 2024, 11:07:10 PM
The reality people who buy Bitcoin at the dip and sell during bullish is better than DCA and holding.
I don't think those who sold during the bull season are better than the DCA holder. They are just simply traders though we can categories them as long term holders but their initial investment plan was to sell off at any slight bull so their aren't going to make as much profit as those who would be using the DCA and continually accumulating for a longer term. Yes these investors also have a target, but they over look the bull most times and continue holding. Just like @Frankolala said, they would have to buy once again but at a higher value compared to when they had first bought and this to me is going to be loss for them but to the DCA holders it would be profit as they already have a lot of coins piled up and waiting for what ever x market they were waiting for.
The true is that not all investors are true long term holders, some hold for just the four year circle and hope to sell off while another set sell at every given interval that's warrants profits to their holdings well this set of person are classed as short term trader's and we now have the true investors that actually hodl Bitcoin for a really long time  and this category or type of investors are even rare because I believe to achieve this one must be disciplined and have self control to not be tempted to sell off when the Bitcoin price is high. I believe some Bitcoin HODLers are still HODLing their coins even from the early days till date and those types of investors are the true holders.
Well, we can't control them if they don't do long-term holding, and it is part of the bitcoin cycle. Someone needs to do short-term holdings in order for the bitcoin price to move, and the proof of that is that bitcoin is volatile, because every transaction in the bitcoin market can affect the price movement. But yeah, because of the many bitcoin holders that do long-term trading, the bitcoin price stays at the top and is stable. Also, that is that bitcoin is volatile, because every transaction in the bitcoin market can affect the price movement. But yeah, because of the many bitcoin holders that do long-term trading, the bitcoin price stays at the top and is stable. Also, it's true that long-term holding is much more efficient so that a holder can maximise the potential profit. And also holders should not exit early in the market just because theu caught in any FOMO.
20  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do your parents invest in bitcoin ? on: May 22, 2024, 10:37:47 PM
No, well, my parents is in the era where they have no interest especially in internet stuff so even they heard or see about bitcoin they didn't attemp or no interest, even though they know that I do crypto currency stuff they dont have anything to say, they neither support or oppose me, its because they have no idea what I'm doing, all they know is that I become independent to them when it comes to financial, in my college days money and allowance is not a problem to be and that's why its okay to them no matter what I do in crypto stuff and also they sometimes taste the rewards that I'm getting in crypto stuff, I sometimes treat them or buy them stuff, and despite all of that they still don't have any interest in bitcoin but it is understandable and it will not affect me investing in crypto currency.
