1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Awesome Miner] - Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor up to 200000 miners on: March 17, 2021, 08:58:14 PM
I have AM on 7 rigs. Everything runs fine. However, in the past few days one of the rigs stopped showing data. It is controlled and starts/stops the miners just fine. The console displays in AM as well. It is just the listing for the miner says the interface is offline and I can not get it to show correctly. I have uninstalled and reinstalled to no avail as well. Again, the console tab shows the remote command prompt correctly. It worked fine until a few days ago before the last update. Any ideas as to what else I can try?

Thank you.
Thanks for your question. Is this with a specific mining software only? Do you get any error messages in the mining software console window about errors related to binding to an API port?

Can you please also check that Windows didn't reconfigure your network from Private to Public or similar?
It is happening with PhoenixMiner on one rig only. AM can control the miner, but does not receive any data back to display. The startup console does not show any error with the API. The network is set to Private and the Defender firewall is off.

Log
Code:
2021.03.14:08:27:17.365: main Listening for CDM remote manager at port 4028 in full mode

When you see "Interface offline" at this point, can you please select the miner and send me the API Report (you can send via PM). You can generate the report via the toolbar Tools -> API Report. This will indicate if the mining software is responding to API requests or not.
I sent you the info in a PM as requested right after your post.

I have noticed that there seems to be some issue with not only thin rig but another now when I am running a GPU miner software (PhoenixMiner) and a CPU miner (XMRig). If i quit the CPU miner, the GPU miner interface comes back and displays correctly. As soon as I start the CPU miner, the GPU does not display. Have seen it on a second machine now as well. I am thinking the API management ports are not being set correctly to be different?

I have AM running on Ubuntu server 18.04. A couple days ago I reinstalled the system and since then miner freezes 1-3 minutes after it starts mining, also freezing keyboard and mouse (??). First hashrate stops showing, then temperature, if I stop it it won't start again with an error, logs show nothing useful. Reinstalling AM remote agent helps to restart the miner but then the story repeats. Have anyone else experienced this? I've remover all other software leaving raw OF and AM, increased the swap file size to 50gb, nothing helps.
I don't have any great suggestions here but I just wanted to check if you tried running with another mining software in case it's only a specific one that is failing?
Thank you. I just tried Claymore again and it does the same thing. One thing to note is that I also run XMRig for CPU mining on the rigs and for this rig the data IS displayed for XMRig. It is only the GPU mining data that is not being displayed.

The latest version will not install the service anymore. 8.0.1 works, but 8.1 will not finish installing the service. Have any ideas? Download location for previous release?
Awesome Miner and Remote Agent version 8.x requires Microsoft .NET Framework 4.7.2 or later.
- This .NET version is already included in Windows 10 since April 2018. Run 'winver' to check the current Windows 10 version. If the version is 1803 or above, all is fine and no action is required.
- For Windows 7, Windows 8 and older versions of Windows 10 and Windows Server, please download and install:
     https://dotnet.microsoft.com/download/dotnet-framework/thank-you/net48-web-installer

Another possible cause: Antivirus or security software is running and blocking the installation. Please try to disable the security software and try again
It was the Windows version. The two rigs I was having issues with had older versions from a rebuild. Installed the .Net you posted the link to and they are both installing the latest Remote Agent.

Thank you,

Hi,
The Awesome Miner installer is based on the Windows Installer concept, where the uninstallation requires Windows to keep track of the installed software. In case Windows is unable to perform an upgrade or uninstallation, please use this tool from Microsoft to force the removal.

Thanks, that fixed it.

I need Awesome Miner Remote Agent Installer 6.8.2. When I tried to update the remote agent it would not do it. i then tried manually, but it says it needs the installer to uninstall the installed version (which is 6.8.2) and will not install 6.9 because of it. Can you provide a link to that installer please?
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Awesome Miner] - Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor up to 200000 miners on: July 18, 2019, 12:14:34 PM
How do I stop AM from creating a default log file for Claymore Eth miner? I have nothing in the command line but the mine starts with a AM BAT file having a preconfigured logfile to console_output.txt. It gets overwritten each restart no matter what I put in for other options. Even if I put in my own logfile name/path, it is ignored. This makes it impossible to debug issues since the logfiles are never kept.

EDIT: Ok, I finally found the keep console output logs checkbox. Now, how can the console logs be STOPPED so the default logfile output can work again?

Before the update, I was able to see the details of each GPU on each machine. Now, it shows the hashrate, but the power, clock speeds, and load details all show 0.

The local gpu’s show the information correctly, it is the remote miners that do not.

Can I get a link to the pervious version?
Can you see the GPU's on the System tab?
Is "Map to system monitoring" enabled on the GPU tab?

Update: I worked with @BaelCorvus on a similar case above and it turned out that if you use the AMD Blockchain Beta drivers, the latest Awesome Miner version may not list the AMD GPU's. Are you also using these drivers?

No they are not shown. Yes, map is enabled.

Yes, the remote machine all have the Blockchain drivers. I have not updated them as I have not had time to troubleshoot in case anything went wrong.

Any updates?

PhoneumGO: Can't seem to find it on the Google Play Store. Shows in the list when I try and search, but when I actually select it, it says it can not be found. Using Android 7.x

Was it only sgminer benchmark that didn't work as expected or was it any other mining software as well that failed? Is Sgminer working fine when when you use it outside the benchmark, at show up with hashrate in the list of miners in Awesome Miner?
Only sgminer. No, sgminer does not report any data back to AM. I have tried with "--text-only" as well. What address should I send the log to again?

I have tried it locally and on a remote miner with the same issue ... not data being sent back to AM for display. The console shows and it says it is running, but no API data.

Was trying to set it for the Managed Software but it would not take. Going into each device profile and having to add it is not ideal, but can work for now.

It runs, but still does not coy the benchmark result back to the test page for saving to the profile. Hum ...

Thank you.
Is the scenario that the mining software window is opened and that you can see that it's hashing, but once completed, the hashrate isn't showing up in the benchmark window?
Correct.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Awesome Miner] - Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor up to 10000 miners on: September 04, 2018, 12:43:13 AM
umm, you can add that to the profit profile specifically for sgminer (and forks)

also, you need to specify the correct number, 0, 1 or 2 for the --gpu-platform, it's rig specific.

check sgminer --help for details.

***
worst come to worst, just use command line and mine to someone else's address using examples for starters, there you should see all the error messages in the console. of course, if you are familiar with command line, then just replace the command, addresses as you see fit. Else, consider it a tiny donation.

Please try to use --gpu-platform directive to resolve the igpu/discreet gpu issue in sgminer

Benchmark doesn't really give much details about error feedback, to see those, you need to mine directly to a working pool and right click on miner -> diagnostics, there you can see more detailed error captured in the output dialogue window
How would I go about doing that? I tried adding it to the user defined command line option in the Managed Software section, but it only flashes and will not load when running a benchmark using sgminer.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Awesome Miner] - Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor up to 10000 miners on: September 03, 2018, 05:55:41 PM
Am I the only one who has issues running benchmarks? Trying Nicehash automatically disconnects from the pool. I have tried different regions but it does the same thing. I can only benchmark a couple algos due to this issue. Any ideas?
Which mining software is this? Is mining on the same pool with the same mining software working fine, and it's only the benchmark that is failing?

If you still run into this problem, could you please also send me your log file and I can review the command line parameters Awesome Miner uses to launch the mining software to make sure it's correct. Thanks!
It fails the connections with Claymore to Nicehash. SgMiner usually does not even start mining unless I disable Nicehash, and then it may run but never saves the hashrate to the algo in the benchmark.

I do not mine to Nicehash. So do not know if direct mining to it is failing or just the benchmark somehow.

EDIT:

Ok, Nicehash is now working. Decided to try a different BTC address and it worked. Do not know what happened to the other one and why no error, but it works.

Now, sgminer is having issues. The Benchmark setup say use GPU 0 for the RX 580 card. However, when it runs it detects the built-in Intel HD graphics as GPU 0 and benchmarks that instead. The drop down does not allow any other selection to be made on the local machine I am testing with. Even when that does run, it does not save the "benchmark" to the test report.

20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [OCEANX] OceanX - Token Backed By Real Assets - NEW THREAD COMING SOON on: August 17, 2018, 07:46:36 PM
Well, there is an excuse b/c how would one know about the swap unless they happened upon this thread? There was no announcement elsewhere. You could open it back up for another month for any more stragglers who happen upon this information.

Oh well, live and learn.

If you are a responsible investor and you care about your money you should at least check your businesses once in a while. I left the swap procedure opened for a whole month and I posted several call-to-actions so you guys can swap your assets. Again, I'm sorry but I cannot do anything.
A month is not much time at all (then again, I will give you some credit for at least offering this swap). Your attitude and insult is also not appreciated. It can get hard to remember every investment on a daily basis let alone weekly or even monthly. Glad to see how you treat your supporters though. Thank you.
