1  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: BLOKFORGE- Official Canaan Distributor on: January 05, 2018, 04:25:23 PM
How much did they cost a pc?

No one knows... if I would have to guess I would say around 22-2300.00usd/each

bulk reseller price is $2885 each ($173,100 pallet with 60 pieces)
https://canaan.io/product/bulk-pack-reseller-821/

Im guessing resellers price will easily be above $3,000

The Canaan prices seem to be jacked up on the site to allow for profits from their distributors. I doubt it’s the actual price the distributors are paying.
2  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Minerwarez official Canaan Distributor on: January 03, 2018, 02:15:27 AM
Has minerwarez confirmed their stance on the Avalon 821?

Blokforge has been very vocal but we haven’t heard a word from minerwarez, even though they were the first US distributor.
3  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Ebang Announces E9++, E10, and E10.1 on: January 02, 2018, 09:13:04 PM
Said it once, and I'll say it again.

Their service is the worst, their product is "alright", their prices are now... outrageous....

No matter the mind backflips you have to make to get to "Ok fine, I'll buy one", you really shouldn't. Supporting a manufacturer who treats its customers worse than Bitmain (and that's a low bar) is committing some form of masochism.

FWIW, at one point, their ebit e9 (not the plus) would have been worth the purchase, but the latest models are outrageous at best.
4  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Good place to host miners (ASICS) in Austin, TX? on: December 15, 2017, 07:25:43 PM
Houston has a few, Im actually about to start building out a warehouse in January. MCHouston is user on here who might be able to help in Houston.

Awesome, thanks for that. Ideally I'd like to start closer to Austin due to where I live but I'm not against regular trips out to Houston if the facility is secure.
5  Economy / Service Discussion / Good place to host miners (ASICS) in Austin, TX? on: December 15, 2017, 04:38:46 AM
Anyone have recommendations for a good place to host miners in/around Austin TX?

I’m thinking of expanding my small farm and am trying to get a feel for hosting miners with a datacenter for instance.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Launching the Antminer L3+, World's Most Powerful and Efficient Litecoin Miner on: December 14, 2017, 12:30:37 PM
Did anyone purchase the December 11th-20th batch of L3s from Bitmain and have them ship already? (To USA)

Trying to see if Bitmain is pulling shenanigans now that the price has jumped up OR if I’m just later in the batch.

You could try to track down 2 of those 1000w Power  supplies from HP (they typically come with breakout boards for miners). I would check amazon or eBay. You could also try running with one of Bitmains PSUs but they will be expensive in the aftermarket and won’t be nearly as efficient on 110v. However, the real issue is that you really should be investing in a 220v line. The efficiency of these PSUs/miners are significantly better at that voltage and seeing as how you’ve already investing for the miners, it would be worth looking into.

Here’s an example of the hp setup on amazon (currently sold out):

Keep tabs on the power supplies offered by these folks:

I got a great deal on a bunch of cables from Amazon.

You could also just try https://shapeshift.io/

I've used them several times in the past for BTC to BCH purchases.
10  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: November 28, 2017, 12:35:15 PM
Well it is about 10 am tues morning in china.

Maybe  they will move some out today.

I got a shipment notification for my (Dec 1- 10) batch of S9s On Sunday AND another notification for my Nov 21 - 30 batch of D3s on Monday (Yesterday).

Both are still sitting at “shipment information received” with DHL. It’s annoying and exciting at the same time. But I’m still being patient.
11  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Minerwarez official Canaan Distributor on: November 24, 2017, 07:36:27 PM
Canaan, and Minerwarez, have done the best that they could have in a shitty situation.

I'd say that we should all hope that other manufacturers begin to take note and follow suit with a customer service model that actually provides us with some visibility at to what the hell is going on with our miners.

I received the email from Minerwarez stating the 2 week delay and shrugged my shoulders. Having purchased from them previously I have no concern that they'll come through this time as well.
12  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Ebit e9 miner with 6.8Th/s from Ebang company a new rival for existing producers on: November 24, 2017, 05:30:48 PM
I have to say, after trying to order from them a few months ago.... and failing... (Bank Wire address was apparently incorrect?)

THEN trying to order again and reaching out to their sales team.... (response back was "later it's lunch time now")

THEN hearing all of the service/failure complaints on the miner right here on Bitcointalk.

I'd say stay far and away.

We already have one diva manufacturer in the form of Bitmain with maintenance issues/service issues. No reason to add a cheaper quality diva to your list.

The only way I would reconsider Ebang is if they totally changed up their sales/support model to streamline purchasing for clients across the globe (similar to Canaan and their distro model). Other than that, I'm good with the other companies.

13  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Pangolinminer & Whatsminer FAQs on: November 07, 2017, 11:39:13 PM
I sent their sales team an email and have been waiting to hear back. I can attest to the quality of the M1 miner which seems to be the same miner as the M3. The efficiency is worse than an S9 but I suspect with availability and this lower price that you’d still do just fine with an M3.
14  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: USED miners, S7 + S9 on: September 10, 2017, 03:24:24 AM
Please do let me know if you add any additional S9s.

Thank you.
