For real. The one time I didn't click the email notification right away. But it is nice to see a private link for the forum.

5pm MST on 12 January on their website. They will also be providing a private link on this thread at some point for 10 821s reserved for forum members.

I get tired of that treatment.

I can order 2 every month  even when they  are stuck and cant sell them.

I was buying when no one would buy them. I order 20 to 30 units a year  mostly s-9  not because I like s-9  but they were easier to order.

My problem is I like to do endless small orders  and at the end of the year it comes to a lot of gear.

Unfortunately even though I purchased  100's  of units from bitmain and canaan they dont care since I order 2 units at a time.

Although I did 2 group buys of avalon 6's with more then 50 purchased.

I guess I will check the website like the rest of us.

Or better yet just buy more gpu's

No one knows... if I would have to guess I would say around 22-2300.00usd/each

bulk reseller price is $2885 each ($173,100 pallet with 60 pieces)
https://canaan.io/product/bulk-pack-reseller-821/

Im guessing resellers price will easily be above $3,000

I am excited about the 821, but how paying that much make sense? You can buy more S9s and even if they break more you make more money.

The Canaan prices seem to be jacked up on the site to allow for profits from their distributors. I doubt it’s the actual price the distributors are paying.

I think it will be between $2500 and $3000. Bitmain just sold a batch of S9s for ~$2400.

They can’t charge more than Bitmain is charging for the S9 at the same time. Bitmain is due to announce their next generation 256 miner anyways. But I expect the price of the 821 to be close or equal to the s9.

Yes they can, they can charge what they want.  Bitmain went for the low blow the last batch to get Canaan to react...we'll see if they do.

If you’re a distributor, do you want to be holding a pallet of 821s that cost more than the s9 when the S11 gets announced?

With an unknown price, hashrate, or delivery date for an as yet un-announced S11, I think the risk is pretty low. Right now, FOMO is strong with Bitcoin.  Smiley
