1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Despite the downtrend. Some memes are still green on: July 03, 2024, 07:19:39 PM

I love the idea of profiting from them short-term as more people discover them on social media, which can drive the price up. Even though I know memecoins are high-risk and not worth holding long-term, it's kind of like gambling. Do you think we'll see new narratives for memecoins?

Please DYOR and don't take any of this as investment advice. I'm curious about the new narratives emerging for memecoins. I also find the excitement of getting into early projects quite interesting.

You observed the market well, I saw that also. The big players are dipping but most memecoins are pumping and allowing their investors take profit. Only the very greedy ones who are not fast to sell off once the memecoins they have begin to pump are the unlucky one. Memecoins are high risk and most of those who put their money in it have to know it. Those who are going to depend on comments here to invest without researching those coins should have themselves to blame if they loose their investment. You said it well.
2  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can online gambling compete with national lotteries? on: July 03, 2024, 06:17:27 PM
I believe there's no competition on this type of gambling, state/national lotteries have their local loyal patrons. Whereas, when it comes to online lotteries specifically crypto lotteries, they have their audience also.
Crypto lotteries will attract people who have more knowledge about cryptocurrency; people with no knowledge about cryptocurrency would not even want to try it out, so just as you have said, national lotteries will always have their own audience and relevance, maybe up until the time when everyone has knowledge about crypto or when the number of people with knowledge about crypto and crypto lotteries becomes more than the number without knowledge of it.

Most people who gamble or involve in lotteries do not even know what it is they are getting into. Motivation for them is the winning they hope to get and the cash incentives, nothing else. If those who gamble know they will loose, none of them will be gambling despite any form of knowledge they have on it. My first crypto gambling I took part in was at a time I did not even know what cryptocurrency was. What attracted me was the prize that I will win and that was how I got involved and lost that. Many people are like that, knowledge or not.
3  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Most Traders are Not Profitable on: July 02, 2024, 08:35:33 PM

Everybody trading must not be profitable. It is the same thing that happens in other professions. We should not put it on trading alone. Not all doctors or lawyers get well paid. Not all graduates do well outside school. Some are lost when confronted with what is happening in the real world. I have seen unprofitable traders become profitable with time. That improvement does not come without consistent practice.
4  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is the most reliable way of earning Bitcoin on: July 02, 2024, 02:25:16 PM
I'm a newbie in Bitcoin and I'm passionate to develop myself professionally in the system and to acquire a reasonable Bitcoin that I can rely on for enconomic development but the major challenge I have now is how to go about it and the possibility of breakthrough in the system, so on that note, I sincerely wish to learn to enable me get the prerequisite knowledge for the possibility of acquiring Bitcoin with little or no capital.

If you are thinking of acquiring bitcoin with little or no capital that will mean you have to work yourself to rank up so you can be within the rank most campaign managers like to enroll. Senior member is the point for most of them. And you must be active to show you are capable of doing the posts and meeting the requirements. But you have to know that campaigns are not that many any more like they were few years ago. The few we have now do not pay that much anymore. But why do you think you can earn that way instead of buying the bitcoin yourself and holding for long to make profit. You should buy and hold and not rely on getting it for free.
5  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which is easier, to quit when winning or to quit when losing? on: July 01, 2024, 02:34:45 PM
I know that as gamblers, everyone can relate to this question, as we have surely experienced it in real situations.

Suppose our bankroll is $100 and it has already grown to $500, would you quit or continue? Conversely, if with our bankroll, we are down to $10, would you still continue or save the remaining $10? I used specific amounts to make it easier to discuss this situation. I understand that we all gamble with different amounts based on our income, but consider this as an example. You can mention any amount you want based on your personal experience; it doesn't matter.

We know how the gambling spirit does not let people quit when they are winning. We quit when we become perpetual losers. And that will after several attempts to recover our losses. Gamblers quit not because we want to but because we may not have more money to gamble with. But if am lucky to have made that gain as you described I will take out my profit and continue with the initial capital. If I lose that, I will quit. I will not struggle with the casino to get more gain.
6  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Someone has stolen my passphrase and bitcoin on: July 01, 2024, 11:46:37 AM
I gave him 12 words of my bitcoin passphrase but shuffling.
I met this same guy. I gave him my house keys and car keys but shuffled. Now my TV is gone, and my car.
You, sir, are an idiot.

LMAO 🤣🤣 this comment is just killing me. I'm with you! I just can't believe that anyone would that stupid as to give out their passphrase, like who does that?

By the way, I noticed that the OP just dropped a username of the supposed scammer.

The Op story sounded like a made up story when i first read it and I knew there was a lie there. Now I know I was right with this ones you quoted for us to see. Anyone who behaves like what OP did can not be a smart person. How do you give your password or passphrase to a stranger and expect to be safe. Only an idiot can think that way.

8  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My deep regret and pain in crypto. on: June 12, 2024, 06:24:10 PM
Then I made a vow never  to involve my self in any other cryptocurrency investment, this year I meet my old time friend that was involve in cryptocurrency investment we talk and along the line I told him my predicament in crypto he laughed and told me same thing happened to him years ago but then he said the only coin he now invest into is Bitcoin then I asked him since Bitcoin has grown this big will it still grow he said yes and that accumulating it little by little will be the best and before I know it I would have accumulated as may as I can.
So I just started reflecting on how much I have wasted investing on a shit coin and how far I would have gone if I was investing on Bitcoin for that number of years, I became so sad and full of regret.

but i have decided to live the past and start a new journey with Bitcoin this year and right now I have accumulated a little using the DCA method Bitcoin will keep growing so don't give up start a new journey today.

You made a vow never to go back to cryptocurrency but you later went back because a friend told you he has become profitable investing in bitcoin alone? I will not be surprised when you make another vow not to invest in bitcoin when its decline begins. Bitcoin does not enjoy steady rise. The rise you see now is because we are in the bull season. In the bear season bitcoin also crashes. My suggestion to you is that you should not get attached to your coins. Do not want to hold them forever. Sell when you see them begin to crash and wait for it to pick up again before buying.
9  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is gambling bad to the society? on: June 12, 2024, 05:54:09 AM
In general, we can agree that gambling can be potentially dangerous. This is why a gambler must adhere to responsible behavior. But if we look around, we see a huge number of things that can potentially harm us. For example, almost all cutting and stabbing tools, such as knives, jigsaws, circular saws, and axes, are all potentially dangerous. Everything related to fire, gas and electricity is also dangerous. But does this mean that these things should be prohibited? I could also tell you about pharmaceuticals. Every medicine has many side effects. For example, drugs that slow the heart's rhythm can cause cardiac arrest. But nevertheless, it does not occur to anyone to prohibit it. I think it's the same story with gambling.

I agree on that. Everything has a limit it should attain and if done in excess has a disadvantage. It does not matter whether it is gambling or not. Too much food or water intake also has a bad effect to it. Even excessive excitement can lead to someone's death. Overspending kills but careful driving can save lives. That is the way I see all that. Those who gamble have to know how to manage their risk and passion for it.
10  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is this a scam attempt? on: June 11, 2024, 08:19:57 PM
The message itself does not have any elements that point to a scam, so if the OP wanted to find out what it was about, he should have replied to the message or simply ignored it. What he certainly should not have done is to publish a personal message publicly because there is absolutely no valid reason for that.

Maybe the forum should provide all users with a new feature - block PM from all users.

Sometimes i get amused by the way we treat private matters that should be kept between members and blow it all over the forum for attention. You are right about this needless attitude. the best way will be for anyone who gets such mails like that to ignore it once we know it will not harm anyone. Just read and ignore or delete it. No one such create a scene for that except they are writing to get merits.
11  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is a fun activity but it has some potential to be profitable sometimes on: June 11, 2024, 03:34:06 PM

If gambling is considered a fun like you said, gamblers will not be mourning when they loose. Alot of people see it as an opportunity to make money and become rich and that brings the bad side of it that they lose the little money they have most times. You can not win against casinos all the time. Only those who gamble sensibly with what they can not regret see their loss as nothing much, but they do not realize they keep losing what they could have saved for other things. Gambling is not fun.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Should I buy ALTs now or no? on: June 10, 2024, 04:30:45 PM
I am a researcher at a popular broking company, I will try to provide some good information with you regarding the current market situation in our discord server.

In short :
By buying now you will have very good profit in the coming months but you should have the cashflow and emotional strength to go through dips.

If you want to buy alts now, the best strategy is to begin a DCA until Mid-end of June.

Quick Note to be more precise : from my Point Of View, we have a little bounce to fill BPR and breaker and then we might have another leg down.

You opened this thread like you wanted to present a direction with specific coins to look at and buy. By mentioning ALTS are you referring to a particular coin called ALTS or you are referring to many of them? If you are referring to many of them that means you did not get it right because there are many altcoins people should not even dream of buying. Those altcoins are shit and scam coins waiting to be rug pulled. No one should invest without making their research.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why are altcoins important? on: June 10, 2024, 04:19:23 PM
Although I do not trust most of the altcoins projects on the market, I am convinced of the importance of these projects to some extent. Many may share a bad perception about altcoins because the huge number of scam projects and how much risky are those investments.
Altcoins are an important component of the cryptocurrency ecosystem as it's offering a wide range of advantages like: offering diversity of innovation which will surely can be accessible for a wider audience/the potential to generate high returns from trading or long-term hodl/enabling startup projects that are promoting decentralization which will enable growing new communities.

We do not have to trust everything. We have to do our research and investigation before investing in any. Altcoins are important. They have helped many of us enjoy cryptocurrency and that is why many more are interested in it. It can not all be bitcoin. The scam in altcoin projects you mentioned is what happens anywhere there is a crowd or rush for something. Rush will exist if something has something that makes it attractive. Altcoin is attractive and that is why there is rush.
14  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: With is the minimum post require to earn a merit on: June 09, 2024, 06:50:57 PM
I have been into the system for some months now and I have made over twenty posts but no simply merit has been given to me or earn by me and this make me to be surprise on how these merit are generated, given or earned. However, looking at it in another perspective, I don't know if it is because I did not meet the number of my post require to earn a merit or because of the low quality of my post that is the reason why I had not been able to earn a single merit. So please I will like to get more clarifications on the possible requirement for earning merit.

You have tried for yourself in the few posts I checked. You already have about 14 topics you have started within two months you registered in this forum. It shows you are willing to learn. It is just that you are not posting in the boards where merits giving members post. Do not blame yourself for the lack of merits you have. You only need to pick topics that interest you in boards where your posts can be seen by more generous merit giving members and merit sources.
15  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Please be careful when you download anti-virus on: June 05, 2024, 09:09:42 PM
It couldn't been said anything better, thanks to OP. In the pursuit to get cracked softwares or pro softwares for free, people often install malwares into their computers without even knowing. It's not just antivirus softwares but all other softwares that don't come free and cheap so people often look for alternatives in pirated software. In the coming days, I'll have a thread go out on Google Chrome extensions being another attack vector that is seemingly missed by a lot of people. Security needs to be at best level if we want to secure assets we currently have in pursuits for more.

This is most common among underdeveloped countries especially in Africa where computer users think that cheap pirated software does the same function as the genuine ones. That is a big lie. Software engineers know how to scam people by making low quality products or malware infested ones. I do not use anti virus because I do not trust using them and am very careful of sites I visit. Most people who worry about malware are those who visit "dirty" sites like porn sites and dating sites.
16  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I need a guidance on: June 05, 2024, 07:13:35 PM
I wish to express my profound gratitude for having the wonderful opportunity to be part of this great innovation. However, I'm a newbie that just got into the system without much experience of what the system entails and I will be very grateful if I will have someone in the this forum that will guide me on how to make use of this opportunity to make a good contribution that will enable me to get the best benefit of the system.

You will be the one too looking for the mentor you want because mentors are hard to get. As champions mentors only get to see those in their rank most times than those who are outside of it. They can only see you when you draw their attention to yourself by chatting them up if they will have time for you because most of them do not have that time to mentor others. Chat anyone you think can mentor you, follow their posts if there are here or monitor them on social media if they are outside here and have an idea how they operate and do what they do.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ways to earn money (cryptocurrency) in 2024? on: June 04, 2024, 04:56:24 PM
Ordinals have lost thier hype for now. I am not sure what will happen in the future. NFT is still going strong but the fees on Ethereum are not helping. I think AI projects will be the next trend in crypto. The advancement in AI and what Elon did will lead to new projects. If you are not aware what Elon did then let me tell you he releases code for his AI chatbot Grok. This incident will open doors to many crypto projects that were planning to use AI as an utility.

NFTs are like scams to me from the way I see them now. And that is why scammers like sending them to wallets. Alot of ignorant people have fallen to that thinking they are claiming something real. Once they click on that their funds are gone. For ordinals and others, they will do well because they have something linking them to bitcoin chain. This bull season may favour that hype they are having. AI projects too are a good choice to invest in. It is a part of this hype going on.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Many new projects are now available for users for testing on: June 03, 2024, 05:34:14 PM
Can we expect any rewards , for participating in them in Q4 2023?

In participating in testnets and expecting rewards know that you can get scammed by them if they ask you to send real coins to their site or another site. Avoid any testnet asking for that. Another bad thing about testnet is you do not know what task they can add up in the middle of the process and then you will be left with no choice than continue with them when you do not like the new tasks. If you have money to invest, the best thing is to avoid testnets. Wait for the token to list and buy.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why we need to buy meme coin? on: June 03, 2024, 11:38:37 AM
Theres no need to buy memecoin

You can not say that because there are people who like to take that risk buying memecoins and some of them succeed doing it. You can not tell people like that who have made their profit in memecoins that there is no need investing their money in that. To make huge profit in cryptocurrency means you have to take risk. Nobody became rich not taking risk. To make nice profit you have to invest huge amount and wait for it to rise. Memecoins will give better profit than bitcoin within a short period.
20  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to be ready when it comes to selling? on: June 02, 2024, 06:18:25 PM
I understand it is more safe to have crypto on cold storage but is it less likely in the peak of a bull run for exchanges to fall? If so, I feel it would be better to send all of my crypto to exchange in advance to then be ready to sell everything.

This may be obvious to some but this is my first bull run and want to be ready when it comes to selling and I am just not sure what is best way of planning to sell.

Exchange can fail at any time. It does not matter the time of the season or year. Those who escape exchange collapse are most times from insiders who get whatever plans the exchange is making to shut down or scam customers.  For your information it is better to leave your crypto in a cold wallet than transferring it to an exchange to avoid avoidable stories of hack or scam. Leave it in your cold wallet until you are ready to sell at once and then move it to an exchange and sell.
